[Q]Auto boot when on ac - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

I'm still quite new to the prime n learning about it. One thing thats really annoying me is whenever I plug in the prime when its powered down it boots up!
I'm guessing everyone else's does this, is there any way to stop it or to halt the boot procedure and power it off?
Thanks

Hopefully when our primes are running properly we will be able to look back at these issues and laugh =P

Yeah you are describing the sleep of death issue that are in the two most popular threads right now. Sorry!

Sorry. It happened before but my prime didn't get hot. That's what I'm conceded about.

Did you try reversing the plug in the AC socket? You can easily reverse polarity (not the greatest) with our plugs and that may be causing you issues.
I use mine plugged in often, without issue, but I always have it plugged in the right way ... which actually appears upside down to me!
Might be a bad power plug. I have only seen this on Android (Samsung Galaxy S) while using an under powered charger.

Thanks for input ill try putting it in a different way

I have generally experienced the problems you are describing when I am using a power plug that is defective or poorly made.
Do you have access to another Transformer power plug that you could test the issue with? For instance if it works fine with another charger then you know the first one is bad.

Brightness flashing

OK I'm new to the tf201. Just got it after my tf101 and have tried searching for some answers but didn't find anything.
When I manually set my brightness and say watch a movie in the dark at night I can see my brightness clicking up and down. Anyone experienced this? I also have washed out colors ... but I think that's just my screen.
Thanks

I think I readed a while ago that the constrast is changing a bit. I would also want to disable that.

me too!!!
Omg this is SO ANNOYING. I emailed the asus tech guys but all thry said was to return it
Or to send it in for RMA
The contrast is changing? How do you fix (change) that?
Hum mm maybe I should send it back in....

It's a tegra 3 battery saving feature, automatic contrast. It's extremely annoying, but sadly no way to remove it... It's less visible if you up the brightness. Really wish Asus would make it so you could turn it off, at least in performance mode or something...

[Q] Wake Up Screen with Keyboard

Hi Guys
Have only just got my TF201 and I have a question about waking the screen, can this be done via the keyboard dock or do I need to use the button at the back of the screen every time?
Thanks

just go to settings, then Asus settings, in there you will find an option almost at the end if (I'm not wrong) that lets you wake the tablet using the keyboard.
Edit: yep, at the end of the list, under energy savings.
Can't believe I missed that, thanks so much!

Keyboard Dock acting funny

hi guys i really need ur help. To day i went to school and used the tablet with the dock normally and i also type some notes...however when i went home, i disconnected them and i put them back together....and all of a sudden the dock stopped working.
The trackpad still works, it still charges and recognizes usb etc...but the keys do not work.
everything stock, not rooted and both bought brand new together about 7 months ago...

Strange, have you tried rebooting to see if maybe it's just something caught up in the OS?
Indeed, Stange, does the dock still supply power ?

Had something similar recently but as fast as it appeared it was gone again
Same happened to me, I sent it in for RMA to asus a week or two ago, and still havent got it back :l
happened to me today reboot sorted it
new fterlau
Had same issue, need to reboot a few times, sorted itself out, why? I have no idea
You would be surprised what a cold boot will fix. That and wiping the cache and dalvik. If my tablet starts acting quirky, those are the first steps I'll take to solve the issues.

That's what happened with me, thankfully the people down at ASUS love us.
I have the same issue once in a while, its rare but it happens. Cold boot usually does the trick. Good luck!

My dock freezes my pad occasionally I'm on stock 4.2 not rooted. The problem afaik is either when i close the lid or when both batteries are at about 50% the pad works fine w/o dock but whenever i have the dock attached its either slow as syrup or frozen so I'll have to do a cold boot.
There is no problem when both pad and dock is fully charged but when they start getting depleted the problems as described starts occuring.
any ideas?
