You didn't! Man, you're screwed. Your only hope is a flange inversion adapter. Unfortunately its one of Samsungs most closely guarded secrets, so unless you know how to make one yourself, there is nothing to be done.

If you were not flashing anything there is no reason why it would not turn on again. Have you tried pulling the battery?

Are you sure you werent flashing anything?
Because I've done something like this before, more than a couple of times, and it didn't brick.

And you're sure you know how to enter Download Mode?
Sounds like USB Jig is your last chance before sending off to Samsung.
Or check out AdamOutler if he has anything new came up. Just a warning, not for the faint of heart.

Maybe the battery ran out of juice? Plug it in and let it charge for some 20 minutes (make sure the charger is working properly), and then try turning it on. Actually bricking these devices is not a simple task and nothing you've done seems that rough.

Maybe JIG is the solution here. Sadly i don't have one !

ODIN do this now:

surely if you hold volume down + power and home to get into download mode should work.
or volume up to get to recovery and then try to select reboot.

[Q] I really did a number on my Vibrant :(

Ok so im total noob but i need help! I rooted my Vib then tried installing a new rom... i didnt delete anything like i was supposed to so when the rom was finished my vibrant re booted and was way discolored it finally booted but then kept re booting constantly. I then went into download mode and tried flashing back to original with various tar files using odin... Now i cannot get into download mode ive tried every way. when i power the vibrant on now it says: Galaxy S gtI9000... which probably isnt good... considering its the vibrant.. it then boots into recovery mode and none of the options work and down is now up and up is down on my volume to select choices. this is what it says:

What bootloader are you using? the froyo one or gingerbread?
i was originally 2.2 froyo if that is what you mean
I'm just curious what you were flashing, in terms of whether you were going to Gingerbread ROM or sticking with a Froyo rom. Sounds similar to a time where I messed up flashing my phone in odin, and since it was a gingerbread bootloader, I forgot that download mode had changed. If you are the same case as I was, then download mode is up volume and power. If its another thing, I probably won't be the best, but I'm sure someone around here will know what to do.
I believe it was Darkys_v10.1_Extreme_Edition rom... When i hold volume up and power then put my usb in it says: POWER RESET or UPLOAD MODE. I just now tried opening odin a com was recognized i opened a pit and a pda and it sayed:

<ID:0/011> Odin v.3 engine (ID:11)..
<ID:0/011> File analysis..
<ID:0/011> SetupConnection..
and nothing happens lol... thx for the quick responces btw
What I did way before I started flashing roms, is I purchased a download mode jig I never had to use it but I have it just in case.
Try pulling the battery.
Then open odin on the computer. While holding the lower volume button down, plug the phone to the computer.
Odin should recognize the phone and just go back to stock from here. Make sure you read up on going back to stock first. You should check this thread out. It has alot of useful info.

Isnt the jig designed to imitate the usb into a comp process? I will try downloading these files again and using the eugene thread but my problem is i cannot choose any option in my backwards recovery mode and cant get into download mode. Thanks for responding none the less. I hope this works!

You need to get back into download mode and flash back to stock. Make sure you download what ever rom you are trying to use from another source. Some of the files could be corrupt. Also make sure you do your research!!! READ READ and if you think u know it all... READ some more!
It doesn't hurt to ask people questions on these forums but you have to know what files you have and what you want your phone to be 2.2/2.3/2.3.4 based rom, Start slow go from stock 2.1 to 2.2 then try the CyanogenMod. TAKE your time! You'll be fine GL
I cannot get into download mode. I just bought a jig hopefully that works
Hope it works as well. I've seen phones in this case require JTAG so if you need that let me know. I have an order from a Mike G from last night so maybe that's you. If so, it will go out Monday...
yeah thats me
That happened to me once to, all I did was Google how to get into dowload mode the i9000 way, try it while your jig is still on it's way

WOW!!!!! This just worked.... I downloaded a reg edit.... YAY!!!!!!
sigh!!!!! i had it working perfectly (almost) apart from being in i9000 format.... i downloaded rom manager from the market installed selected reboot into recovery and now im BACK stuck in recovery and cant get kies mini to read the phone... so i uninstalled kies mini and still nothing after reinstalling it.. keep in mind in recovery mode volume up is volume down... i can toggle between options but power does nothing unless i hold it.. then it just restarts into recovery
im going to try installing kies mini for captivate :O
no luck back to waiting for the jig
Jig came today!!!!!!!! Worked like a charm... Best 8 bucks i have ever spent. Thanks guy from mobiletechvideos.com, your the man!!!!

Take the battery out. Put back in, plug USB cable in while holding volume down.
Should put you into download mode. If it does:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1313659
If the screen turns on at all, you're not bricked.
No need for a jig - I think only the Captivate (Maybe I9000 too) had a bug that prevented you from getting into download mode with VolUp + VolDn + USB insertion
With the Infuse and I777, I have NEVER needed a jig to enter download mode. My pack of MicroUSB plugs from Sparkfun is still sitting unopened.

Looks like it tried to enter battery charging mode.
This has always worked for me:
Remove and reinsert battery
DO NOT HIT POWER
Plug USB cable into PC (if not already plugged in)
Hold VolUp + VolDn
Plug USB cable into phone while still holding those two buttons (Not power!)

Someone else will have to help you here, I've only used Heimdall on Ubuntu to flash in download mode.
Looks like its connecting properly, but failing to flash the image somewhere in between.
Possibly try a different cable, as it might help. Also, if you can, charge the battery (not sure if that would be an issue)
A lot people said it's easy to root, I thought it's easy and unbrickable.
Reading this thread, I chicken out
Will follow this thread closely to see how it pans out.
Why didn't you use super one click to root.
And what package were you.trying to flash in Odin
Sent from my i777 high in the sky
It is more or less unbrickable as long as you READ fully before flashing random things to your phone. I've gone through the process with three different phones, and all have turned out well.
The guides in the general section aren't stickies because they're just there, they're meant to be read and followed...and if you don't get it, AK questions (you can look, I've asked a bunch of stupid questions in the beginning haha)
Remember: read twice, flash once. Problems? None.

SOC doesn't work on kk6. I can only assume he is trying to use the one click +root Odin package. Still, it shouldn't have failed.
Looks like we need more info from OP if changing cable, reinstalling drivers, changing USB Ports, and charging battery doesn't work

No it's not, but having people flash stuff they don't understand is really frustrating. What's worse is when they make a OMFG I'M BRICKED post here, without seeing the 100 other threads, and ignoring the directions in all of them.
Other than flashing grossly inappropriate bootloaders, you can recover from any software issue. Then again, Odin isn't a toy, and many people are treating it like one.
Yup. Don't flash PITs, don't flash bootloaders (there are warnings against this anywhere in the I777 forums you might find a bootloader or PIT file), don't flash stuff intended for another phone unless given specific instructions that it's OK (such as if you follow the Hellraiser instructions), and you'll be fine.
ok i tried using another cable, but sine the fail last time i seem to just get the following message and can't go back into dowlnload mode
Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in kies & try again.
obviously Kies doesnt recognise my phone anymore..
Previously I followed the instructions from galaxys2root and everything seemed fine, had the green success and the nightmare only started when phone automatically rebooted.
This is kind of out of left field, but have you tried using different USB ports on your PC?
I vaguely recall reading somewhere on these forums that some USB ports not mounted on the PC's motherboard sometimes don't play nice when talking to some devices...maybe it was just for Macs or something - not sure - but might be worth a shot if you haven't tried already...

Need more info to troubleshoot the problem. The first thing you did was try to root using the galaxys2root.com rooting method for the I777 for Windows?
You flashed the zedomax root kernel using Odin3 v1.85 included in the download. The "SGH-I777-ATTGalaxyS2RootStockZedomaxKernel.tar" from the download in those instructions contains only the zImage, which is the kernel image. Can you please verify that this specific tar is what you flashed, and confirm that the flash was successful but that the phone would then not boot past the initial boot screen.
Incidentally, many have used the zedomax I777 root kernel to root succesfully. So we need to eliminate other possibilities. Are you sure you used the instructions for rooting the I777? There are instructions on that site for International version, T-Mobile version and Sprint version as well. And your phone is an AT&T I777?
Have I got my infuse bricked? Can someone please help!
I had encountered a rebooting in loop issue after I installed MIUI 2.3.7 (ICS theme). My phone was restarting after every 45-50 seconds. I tried to installed stock room using GTG's UBrick in download mode and it got reboot after a minute. Now, I see a screen with message "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in kies and try again" with phone--- yellow triangle ----- computer icon!
I don't know if I have completely bricked my phone or not but is there any way out, can I somehow go to download mode? or any pointer would help.
Thanks in advance.

[Q]What is wrong with my phone?!

So long story short:
Had android 2.3.4 (custom kernel rom etc) and wanted to update it to something newer (WHY DID I DO THAT WHYYYYYY) so as almost 90% of the people out there "yeah i know stuffs 'bout computers... so a phone won't be a problem... don't make me laugh" WAS I WRONG. So i found a how to step by step theandroidsoul com/android-4-0-ics-ice-cream-sandwich-update-for-galaxy-s-2-ii
Transfer the Android 4.0 file you downloaded in step 1 above to phone’s internal sdcard. Just remember the location where you transfer it — you’ll need it in step 8 and step 10 below.
So i did... AFTER i unzipped it... didn't know. After that came:
Wipe system, data and Cache.
In recovery, go to “mounts and storage”.
To wipe system, select “format /system”. Choose “Yes – Format” on the next screen.
To wipe data, select “format /data”. Choose “Yes – Format” on the next screen.
To wipe cache, select “format /cache”. Choose “Yes – Format” on the next screen.
AND **** HIT THE FAN
Since the file is unzipped the Clockwork Recovery(v 4.0.1.4) can't find it only its folders... so i was stuck. The phone didn't load, it sits on the logo with the (!) in a yellow triangle. When i try to flash it with odin (tried with 1.83 and 1.85) even with "pit" i get stuck at

Try re-downloading your ROM you want to flash, to your computer. Then load Odin, follow the steps. Only to get your phone into download mode press and hold volume down, home and power on all at the same time. Keep holding them until the screen comes on and the phone will go into download mode. Then connect it to your PC. Wait until the PC recognises your phone and you have a yellow box with com highlighted in Odin. Then flash your ROM. Make sure you do exactly like the guide. Your phone should be ok.
Good luck!

He meant recovery mode on the phone,
1. Remove the battery and leave the phone for a couple of minutes to fully discharge then put it back in
2. Hold Volume Up + Home + Power together until the phone boots up then release the buttons and it will go into recovery
3. Use the volume button to move up and down the list of option
4. Find Factory Reset, highlight it then press the power button to start the process
The phone will hopefully reboot properly after this but it will have wiped the data as that is what factory reset does.

3. Use the volume button to move up and down the list of option
4. Find Factory Reset, highlight it then press the power button to start the process
The phone will hopefully reboot properly after this but it will have wiped the data as that is what factory reset does.

If you are pressing them all at the same time it may be the power button is powering the phone, just to make sure press the volume up and home button then whilst holding them down press the power button so that you are holding all 3 down that way.

Can you enter "Download" mode?
- Hold Vol Down + Home button and keep holding it
- Press and hold power button (all 3 buttons)
- Leave them when you are shown a warning
- Press Vol Up to enter download mode
If you can enter download, then I can suggest flashing stock firmware from Odin
- Start up Odin (I se 3.07)
- Load up the downloaded stock rom and wait till it is complete
- Connect the phone (should be in download mode)
- You'll see "Added" status
- Only 2 options should be selected (Auto Reboot and Reset Time) nothing else
- "Start"
PS: If you're on 4.1 then I recommend staying on 4.1 esp if you flash a lot of roms. Stay away from the official 4.3 otherwise you might get radio/baseband issues later on which cause network issues.

Your emmc chip is corrupt or damaged, the NAND write fail message is the proof.
Try flashing the rescue firmware (search in general forum), but follow the guide exactly as it includes a pit file.
If that fails then you need a new motherboard.

Can you access recovery now? if yes, try a "factory rest/data wipe" option and reboot
If this doesn't work, then you'll need a rescue firmware from here.
As previously mentioned: Use it with a lot of care.

thanks got that now. but while i waited for reply, i flashed International-GT-i9300-StockRecovery again and it run thru a load of writing scrolling down the screnn. ened up giving me think it was 5 options, one being reset/data wipe option. done that and the reboot option after that but it hangs on the splash screen.
so tried to flash the pit file and others i downloaded for recovery, tried flashing them and cam up with this log:

Anyone still around to help with Galaxy Player 5.0 U.S.?

I have a YPG70 that I thought was dead and had the phone-yellow!triangle-pc icon only able to show. I was able to flash it using a ton of different sites finally, and can get to the downloader screen and I also can boot into an Android System recovery <3e> screen but it's as if the Power button won't work for Enter to select anything. Odin seems to recognize when I'm on that screen but when I go to flash the .tar file it fails, and stays stuck here...

I'd like to just get this back to stock if possible. Any help is greatly appreciated.
You have to take the battery out. There's 3 screws, 2 underneath the USB port and 1 in the sd card bay. Pop the left side first. Take the clip off then pop it back on to reset. Then plug Odin in. I had the same issue the other day

Thanks for your reply. So if I do that it will boot up fine? After all the time I've put in trying so many things I would love it to be that simple, but I honestly feel like it would take more than that. I have to figure out how to take the it apart without damaging it then.

Well, that didn't work. Thanks for the suggestion. Same error on recovery screen and still just gets stuck at "setup connection" in Odin.
