you unzipped/uncompressed one too many times. Before you get to zImage, this is the file you need to put into odin as PDA.
So I'm clear; the archive/zip file that CONTAINS zImage is the file you need to put into the PDA field of Odin.
Savvy?

[Q] Help, if chainfire is around?

Hi,
I have an optus sgs2. Using this thread
[ROM + Guide]Official i9100 KDD/KE1/KE2/KE7 download for Odin Flash and Root Guide.
I flashed the insecure ke2 kernel, then the ke7 rom, then the ke7 root. No probs.
i want to get rid of the yellow triangle. i know chainfires post says they are all self extracting exe's but when i download the Ke7 stock kernel it downloads as a zip file. I cant extract it. if i rename it to an exe and double click it says out of memory.
Just to note, the other stuff in the thread i downloaded sucessfully and extracted using winrar. For this i have tried winrar, 7zip, double clicking, both 32 and 64 bit versions of windows but no luck.
I am probably stupid and doing something wrong........
any help appreciated.

Hi, thanks for the reply
anyway that is the original one i tried when i use winrar v3.71 i get the message
! D:\Samsung\GalaxyS2\I9100XWKE7_Kernel.zip: Unknown method in I9100XWKE7_Kernel.tar
! D:\Samsung\GalaxyS2\I9100XWKE7_Kernel.zip: No files to extract
and it just wont extract...
Use 7Zip to extract the package.
Exactly what I was going to say, 7zip just flat seems to work whatever you throw at it and most used functions are available in the right click such as unzip here and so on.
All i can say is i just downloaded it and did as i said and it worked .
Corrupt download ????

[Q] Create Baseband from a ROM

Hi everyone, i'v a custom ROM on my SGS2 i would change my baseband 'cause i'm having some issue. I would install H3G bb (that's my operator) and i'v the official H3G ROM with NEKD5 baseband, i'v extracted the "modem.bin" but i'f a create a .tar from this file odin can't flash it... How can i create a flashable .tar from this modem.bin? Thanks everyone!
In Odin, you select your modem.bin into phone select area file and you start the flay processing... No need to create a tar file.

[Q] ROM Confusion

Hi all,
I just downloaded this stock ROM from SamFirmware.com as it was a KG6 build and I wanted to give it a shot. When I went to unzip the ROM, it contained 5 files. I know which files go where in Odin when there are 4 files but this one has got me confused. The confusing part for me (being a noob) is the fact that there is a Kernel and a Code file...where do these 2 files go under? They both can't possibly be selected under the PDA section so is one a boot loader file??? I have taken a screencap of the zip file contents so that hopefully someone can explain where the 2 particular files go in Odin.
Thanks all.
How about following the instructions first .
Who told you to unzip it ???
Odin flash tar file via PDA .

Well he would need to unzip the archive if he wants to use the included tarballs to flash his device.
@OP: When you open Odin 1.85 just put the following in the slots as below:
PDA: Code_I9100XXKG6.......
Phone: Modem_I9100XXKG6.......
CSC: GT-I9100-CSC-MULTI-OXAKG6.....
Ignore the rest of the files. Don't need to use .pit file and make sure you don't tick repartition. I would encourage you to read up on using Odin first if you don't know what you're doing before attempting to flash.
Thanks Intratech..I am familiar with Odin as I have flashed my device successfully many times. Just never encountered both the Kernel and Code in the same zip so wasn't too sure whether I should use both or just one.
just curious but what is the actual difference between the two??
also, pit file is used to reset the path no?? as in wipe the lot except cutom binary hits??
cheers
col
Also wat happens when u do click repartition??? Done it by accident once phones fine??
Wat does pit stand for!?
Partition info tree? Lol who knows?

Help needed to create .tar file to flash via Odin

Am hoping someone can help.
I've updated my Galaxy S II to ICS via Odin but wanted to erase my flash history so flashed an old bootloader .tar file, erased the flash history but now want to flash the ICS bootloader back.
I've extracted the sbl.bin file but cannot create a tar file that Odin recognises. Have tried using 7zip but Odin locks up when I try and flash it.
Any helping or guidence on how to create a flashable .tar file is appreciated.
are you on windows or Linux?

flash problem
I unpacked the file and i put it in to PDA field and flashed it, but it gives me an error "fails" . Previously i flashed it with 4 files including pit file it flashed sucessfully "pass". But this time i don't have an pit file. Is it causing this matter I means the pit file?
What should i do to re flash my phone through odin?
Thank you friends
.pit file is ONLY for repartition, NOT for normal flashing!
