You can just flash your nandroid backup of your stock rom using CWM providing you made one. If not then the same as above you can use Mobile Odin from google play.

Enquiry about ROOT for Galaxy SIII

Dears,
I would like to ask how to root my Samsung SIII with stock rom. Just wish to that the mobile device is smoother, battery efficient and power saving. I read some thread and slightly understand the step, first download ODIN and install it into pc. Second, put CF-ROOT into the TAR column. Meanwhile, I also found FRANCO for kernel. So, what should I do??
The other things will be, the same stuff above can be use in Samsung galaxy SII as well?
Thanks and pending the response.

Install odin
Download cwm recovery for your phone model
Flash it with pda button in odin
Then press volume up and power button to go recovery mode
Then install superSU with install zip from sdcard option
Done.
You can set root privilages in supersu program
*search more carefully and do it with your responsibility
*personally i dont prefer root because official updates wont install anymore. I once rooted then flashed to stock

U can go back to complete stock anyway by flsshing your official firmware from sammobile.com. u will need triangle away also as your system status will still say MODIFIED.

Not sure i understand 100% but flashing cfroot will alter your binary counter, hence change device status to modified yes.

Using CF root you will still be able to get official updates through Kies no problem, u just need to run cf root again after an official update. OTA updates I dont use anyway but just to be safe dont try and install OTA updates as the usually seem to fail. If the phone notifies u of a ota update just hook up kies and get it.
If you plan to install other root kernels I cant advice as I only use cf root.
CF-Root is a stock-kernel with Root enabled, so if you want to increase "smoothness" and battery saving, then you're on the wrong kernel since it behaves exactly like stock.
I can recommend Siyah kernel. You don't even need to use CF-Root to root your device before, since it already comes with a Odin-flashable version and auto-installs root.

Cf root is NOT a kernel it just pushes supersu, cwm and cwm manager to your device

The same CF-ROOT can be use is Samsung Galaxy SII too?? Ya ... I understand CF-ROOT is added in CWM, SuperUser and even Titanium Backup to ur device. Meanwhile, the franco kernel is with voodoo sound system. Btw, what are those official download or OTA that you all mentioned above.
thanks.

OTA means over the air..which again means you will get a notification saying you have a software update ...when you click on it will download the update file and update your phone without connecting to PC..other way is you connect to PC open Kies..download the update in Kies and update your phone..

I think it would work...just read the OP..it will state with which ROMs it works..it it says Stock then you can flash it...anyways take a nandroid backup..so you can revert back if anything goes wrong.

I think you should read more before you ruin your phone. I would start reading the cf root thread. I would root with cf first then make a nandroid backup in recovery. Then from there you can flash whatever you like i.e kernels, ROMS.

JB 4.1.2 leaked root and CWM ready

Does anyone know where there is the current leaked JB 4.1.2 that is in CWM. Just too lazy to use ODIN and having to root the phone all over again. Thx.

has su binary but not sure about superuser app. I think its the stock kernel but I'm not sure... you can do this if its needed but maybe not needed http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=34180283#post34180283
I mention that because if you want to avoid the yellow triangle and have a kernel that flashes things you can use Mobile Odin or extract the zImage and use hc-ktool to flash the below kernel.
Kernel for flashing; no CWM app though, so need to hold power home and volume up on boot: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1877270

You're obviously also too lazy to search.
Just use Mobile Odin via your mobile, it will also re-root and inject SU etc anyway.
