Im coming from the HTC evo from sprint. Im on my way over to Verizon. Im interested in both the Rezound and the nexus...
Is there a reason to choose the REzound over the nexus? It doesnt seem like the Rezound has full root/s-off etc etc right? Is it a matter of time, or do they have this thing locked down?
Rezound have radio lock thats all
Rezound is faster and has alotttt stronger signal. Basically, HTC owns samsung

I was all about the nexus but after being burned so often by buying and trying to justify my purchase waited and was about to buy a rezound till I got it as a replacement and its awesome. I love this phone so far. Great camera, It's really quick, screen is amazing and its the perfect size

I came from the EVO as well. It was this or nexus, I chose this for the better camera and beats, which I can't go without now. Plus the free headphones. Only selling point of the nexus is ics but a senseless Rom gives a close experience which should get better in time. Plus sense 3.6 is cool and miui is in progress as well as sense 4.0

Came from Evo 4G on Sprint as well. Went through 2 Nexus's before giving up and getting the Rezound. Signal and call quality on the Nexus was horrendous. I would hear about every third word the caller was saying which made for some pretty interesting conversations.
The ONLY advantage to the Nexus is the ease of "tweaking" it but I un-locked, flashed a recovery, and flashed a rooted ICS Rom on my Rezound in about 10 minutes.
Get the Rezound ... NO BRAINER
IMHO
Edit: BTW ... The return rate of the Nexus is upwards of 20% according to my Verizon Rep. She told me she wished they would pull it off the market.
I came on over from the Evo 3d and I love the Rezound and coverage so much I've yet to root it. This phone has almost cured my flashism. Though I'm on vacation this week, I might get in on the rooting and madness on this side of town soon.

Thanks guys.. Im hesistant with the Nexus because IVe heard about samsung not rolling out updates etc etc as fast as they should.
Rezound vs GNex
I poured over this decision back in December. I opted for the rezound because it has an sd card slot and the GNex doesn't. The camera and processor are also superior. I have mine OC's to 1.8 GHz. It is saddled with s-on though. HTC allows users to unlock the bootloader but we cannot flash radios and kernels directly via recovery. It must be done in the bootloader or via fastboot. Not the end of the world but not as easy as an s-off device. This nut seems to be a tough one to crack too. A few devs have been at it since December but no joy
Once we get cm9 the nexus will be a thing of the past.

What do you mean by that?
editeD: lolwut I got it now haha fail.
Look, I'm not expert by any means, but I feel I need to chime in. I have owned both phones. The Nexus was probably the sweetest phone I thought I ever had.. Everything seemed to work flawlessly. After a few days I constantly had problems with the Battery, Signal strength and SOUND. Let me explain. ICS was awesome IMO. It worked great and was a really nice change. But that was the only thing that was nice on it. The roms that are coming out now for the Rezound by far make this the best phone I've ever owned. Speed, picture, ICS and I personally like Sense. SO for me to give anyone advice it would easily be GO REZOUND!!
BTW.. Ask this question in the Nexus forum, and I guarantee you'll get a different response. So basically, you need to go in the store, and give yourself 20 minutes to mess around with both phones. Just keep in mind that Samsung has a reputation as having terrible radios. Be sure to listen to the sound on both. And take a look at the resolution and clarity.. A few youtube videos should do it for ya! ALSO, the fact that you get a nice set of ear phones.
I just got the rezound last week and love it. I'm coming from a sensation 4g this is a lot better phone than that is. Plus now we have an ics leak that your phone doesn't have to be rooted is sweet. And when the official ota drops you can still update

Don't think. Just buy a rezound.
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using xda premium
I faced the same decision, and I went for the Rezound. The camera, reception, and overall build quality of this phone is better than that of the Nexus. I really don't like Sense, and that almost made me go for the Nexus, but software is upgradable and hardware isn't. I'm currently running a senseless ROM (XTreme's), which isn't AOSP, but it's close. It seems like there is being progress with ROMs completely lacking sense (MIUI is being worked on and apparently has RIL in-tact), and once CM9 gets its RIL issues fixed, my phone will feel complete. Even without that, I am very happy with this phone. The screen is amazing, even when compared to a Samsung device (Nexus). The battery life isn't great, but it is an LTE device... I never get signal drops, and I'm always on 4G.
okay well with that being said, what do you guys loose not having s-off?

Not much. It makes it more difficult to flash kernels, but it is still relatively easy using adb or just your phone. You can't flash radios (well at least without being relocked), which I think is the major downside of s-off. Also, unlocking through the HTCDev method won't let you go back to complete factory stock (without the bootloader saying relocked), so if Verizon happened to check, they can see that you MAY have voided PARTS of your warranty (not a big deal).
hmm Seems like its too much bull**** to deal with...

It's really not that bad. Choose the phone you want to go with, but don't let that sway you too much. We may not have as many developers and ROMs as the Nexus, but we have some really great devs. And flashing ROMs and kernels really doesn't take noticeably longer without s-off, and becomes second nature
If you want stock ICS go Nexus.
If you want better screen, eventual Sense ICS (AOSP probably won't be possible until we can get s-off I think), and removable SD card go Rezound.
I've been a stock Android fan since the original Droid, but I've really grown to like Sense and Sense 4.0 looks even better. I do want an eventual AOSP.

So im currently useing the phonton... an i love it, but the truth is im bored with it. I appreaciate all the work the devs do out there an by nomeans am i tryin to rush them. Im 2 days away from my 30 day return window an im gettin antsy an kinda thinkin of swappin for a nexus.... whata you guys think. Should i suck it up an wait for the photon to become a beast or swap for the nexus an flash away.... honest opinions would be great an appreaciated. Thanks

I wouldn't recommend exchanging it the nexus has a single core no sd card less and slower ram no international capabilities not as hi res screen just to list a couple of reasonto stay
I own a Nexus S too. And I'd say that it's a better device overall even with its single core. What keeps me away from it is exactly your reason of moving away from your Photon - boredom. Have had it for over 6 months. It's old generation hardware already. Wouldn't you rather wait for the Nexus Prime?
Sent from my MB855 using XDA App
If you trade in at least swap for a newer device that is closer in specs. Have you considered the EVO 3D or Epic Touch 4G? You could easily swap for another 30 days and then again if you wanted the Photon back or another phone. This would give you a month or so to play around.
It boil down to what you want
if your a flash o holic and want to really go to town...why not get a used unlocked GSM development phone put in a prepay sim as a 2nt phone
I would go with the evo 3d if anything. The nexus has been plagued with radio issues. Or just get your upgrade back and wait it out. I used to be a flash a holic as well but I have slowed down a bunch over the years and find myself sticking to roms that are snappy and well build like cm7 or synergy.
Do what you like, I personally would have probably stayed with the evo 3d if the reception and call quality wasn't so poor. No point in a super phone if I roam all the time and drop calls.

Thanks for the opinions. Im stayin with the photon. Biggest reason ill be stayin is no sd card on the nexus. Thanks guys

IMO, I would stay away from Samsung. My last Samsung phone was total crap.
I tend to prefer HTC and LG phones. In my past and more recently, HTC and LG have had great support for their phones when I contacted the corporate office.
I am loving my photon and I loved my Motorola flip phone back in the old days (the one with one line display that was red and the phone was very bulky).
I am also not the type of person to root my phone. I place more importance on a working reliable phone then my ability to root and flash new roms. From my understanding, Samsung allows rooting and custom roms more so then Motorola does. I also do not root because I do not want to void my warranty ... I'm too busy with work and school to try and resuscitate my bricked phone. I also do not have $600 laying around to replace my photon if it's dead. I'm happy with changing my wallpaper when I'm in the mood. Also, the photon is the best android phone I've had (had the HTC Eris, craptacular Samsung moment, HTC evo shift, and now the Motorola photon).
Having said all that, I find the photon meets my needs but you will have to figure out what is more important to you.
Sent from my MB855 using XDA App
I am a flashaholic as well but my main reasons for flashing were to find optimal battery life, and an overall snappy phone. Once I installed decks rom on my EVO I never flashes another rom. The photon has everything I was trying to achieve in the EVO....so I've really had no urge to flash but I know once we get some good roms going, we will be flashaholics again...lol
Sent from my MB855 using XDA App
same here. i found myself flashin daily to try everything on my evo. reason i did it is bc i wanted a fast and amazing phone. with the flashing, i got tired of always building up the phone again and such. i told myself that the next phone ill get, ill just root it and stick with stock other then maybe the kernel.
been using the mopho and havent had the urge to flash yet. sure undervolting would be nice, but i used setcpu the other day and had the screen off setting at 216/312 and when it was too low to keep pandora from not skippin when screen off. so i dont think id need any more under volting.
i use just juice defender and i get about 16 hours of medium/heavy use till she beeps at me (phone calls, lots of texting, and web browser)
i think this phone has excellent audio and sound. and i havent had the mute phone calls other then day 1. on performance mode and latest updates work well for me. I normally reboot my phone after 3 to 4 days just bc electronics tend to like it. did the same with my evo.
honestly, i dont see any other phone out there that could offer more. a world wide phone like this one. use a phone for what its built for, to stay connected to the world.
if you have the urge to flash, id buy one seperate just for the heck of it to flash and pimp out. im super happy with the mopho so far. love having the best signal around the office compared to everyone else.
Ditto to lroy's statement above.

Wait for the Photon to become a beast? Really? How? It is what it is and will be. As for the Nexus, why would you take a step backwards? Just because you can? There is the Samsung Epic 4G Touch coming out in two weeks. You could take the Photon back, use an old phone for 2 weeks and get the Sammy. Then after a couple of weeks you can take that back and get the iPhone5.
If you are looking for enough people to say "yea do it" go ahead.

When I first heard of the big three phones (Rezound, Nexus, RAZR) coming out around the same time, I was torn as to which phone to go with. However, as I started looking at the specs on each phone, the Rezound stuck out as the clear winner for me. The fact that the RAZR does not have a replaceable battery and has the lowest screen resolution became deal breakers on that one. The fact that the Nexus does not have a slot to upgrade memory and the fact I had seen many discussions surrounding Samsung build quality became a deal breaker on that one. With that, the Rezound became the clear choice for me. I upgraded from the Thunderbolt. I have been very impressed so far. The screen is AMAZING on the rezound. The only downer for me with the Rezound right now is the lack of full root and S-off to be able to do some customization and hopefully improve battery life. Personally, I think the Rezound is a great phone!
This is a phenomenal phone and I have no regrets buying it, I came from an Incredible and went to the RAZR returned the RAZR and got the Rezound, haven't looked back at all.
I was gonna wait for the Nexus phone, but I'm not an AOSP guy, "sense" is what bought me.
It all depends on which skinned version you like best.
1) Vanilla
2) Blur
3) Sense
My only annoyance with it is the bloatware and lack of root, which is all VZ's fault, not HTC's. I think they did a wonderful job with the device so far. I loooove the screen, I really don't miss the deeper blacks from the AMOLED of the Dinc because the RZ is just so damn sharp!
I LOVE this phone! I came from a rooted, tricked out Dinc... Thanks to Nils and Joel.
Would I do it again? Heck yes!

That is precisely why I am looking forward to S-OFF to remove all the bloat! I know removing some of it should really help get more out of the battery and should make the phone run like a dream!
i used my inc the other day for the first time in two days, and i've gotta say, although the blacks were darker with amoled, this screen is so much sharper and i think the blacks on the rezound's lcd actually make reading whtie text a little easier, for example on the xda app wiht the dark theme applied. i love it!

The only problem I have is battery life. It's about the same as stock Incredible life. I know once we get root that will be easy to fix though. I love Sense, so this was a no brainer for me. I can't wait until we start getting some roms out
I upgraded from the incredible and got the Rezound a few days ago, it's kind of laggy but I just read that a factory reset may fix the issue. I kind of want to return it and get the Nexus.

It makes it kind of useless to ask for opinions if only one is allowed to be expressed without being called a troll. Besides, he can't take it back now and get the Nexus, can he?
Anyway, the Rezound is by far the greatest phone I've ever owned. The screen is gorgeous, it feels great in your hand, and I haven't noticed any lag at all.
I Love the phone. It feels great in the hand and you can just feel the quality. I had a thunderbolt before this and I hook my phone up through AUX input in my truck EVERY time I drive it. The quality of sound that comes from the rezound is light years ahead of my thunderbolt. Like its a night and day difference, even in pandora the sound quality is WAYYYYYYYYYYY better.
Sounds like the phone is legit....i'm currently on a rooted TBolt and one can honestly say that there isn't much of a difference to the Rezound (albeit hardware), but seems like dev work has just come to a screethching halt and not that I need to be constantly changing ROM's every day (which I will admit to doing on certain occasions) but just feels outdated and a lost cause so root hardly plays a hand in this case anyways.
The rezound being a dual core 1.5 ghz phone certainly is appealing as well as the beats audio integration that I would certainly welcome since i'm always listening to music while running or in the car. Just want to pick your guys' heads on wether purchasing it justify's a bit of an upgrade, but not much per say. Any info is valuable and well appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Oh, another thing to add, the Beats audio only works on the native HTC Music app correct? Doesn't on google music nor Pandora or does it?
correct on beats, alpine.
as for the upgrade being worth it, well, it was for me..i came from the OG inc (july 2010) and although that's a damn good phone, i just wanted something faster and new...and i 100% love this phone, and would do it again in a heartbeat if i had to lol

You should consider that the Nexus sucks and the Rezound is amazing.
Just kidding, but the Rezound really is better. I've only had HTC phones, so I don't know how the Nexus flashes ROMs, but we can do it right in recovery. The only (small) hassle is that we have to flash kernels through the bootloader, but our devs have come a long way in simplifying that process. There are a few ROMs that are stripped of Sense as well.

Also, as best I understand it, you will not be able to flash alternate radios or splash screens.
As the responder above me indicated, there are no straight AOSP ROMs at this time. Check through the Android Development section and see if any of the "Senseless" ROMs fit your needs.

Having owned both the Nexus and the Rezound, I dumped the Nexus and went back to the Rezound. You won't regret it.
The Rezound was only unlocked last week so roms are a little limited at the moment. However, we have some great devs working on it.

I made the switch from a SGN.... I must say, your going to miss some things that the Nexus had (ICS), but your really going to love things the Rezound brings to the table. There are a handful of roms out now. I think the Senseless rom you'll have to install a 3rd party Launcher. I've come to really enjoy Sense... I;ve read about people wanting to get Sense off thousands of times... My only question is... Why? It actually functions quite awesome...
I'm quite happy with the Rezound, the Dev Support is great, and I'm almost positive there will be quite a few more by the 15th when everyone returns their Nexus because the Reception and speaker both are terrible!!
Good luck..
Don't forget the Rezound will be getting ICS soon as well. It's only a temporary loss.

Soon? More like next fall.
i too am thinking of switching from Gnexus to Rezound.
I think in a couple months the truth is going to come out that the Gnexus is actually quite a very subpar phone.
PenTile matrix display, abysmal battery life, and the extremely poor camera quality are enough to have me switch to the rezound.
here is my main concern though, what kind of battery life do you guys get? with my gnexus LTE enabled all day, i could only get about 2 hours of on-screen time. what about the rezound?
thanks in advanced.
Thanks for all the info! Does android wifi tether currently work with rooted rezounds? Also are speeds on lte better? (Noticed lower speeds on gnex)
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus
yes wifi tether does work.
I currently just traded my GNEX for a Rezound.
Best choice I've made.
As the GNEX is a great phone.
The Rezound is just amazing.
You won't be upset if you do choose to trade up.
S-ON isn't too bad since we have root.
S-OFF would be ideal, but I'm plenty happy with what we have and is to come
I came from a GNEX and really, really like this phone. The thing that impressed me the most is the screen.
The GNEX has a big, beautiful screen but the colors seemed kind of washed out. The Rezound, the colors just pop and seem very vibrant. Greens are a brilliant green, red's are brilliant red. It's hard to explain, but it is very noticeable.
I also noticed a considerable difference in the camera quality on the Rezound compared to the GNEX. Sure, you're not going to take 20 photos in a second with the Rezound but you do get better quality pictures. Feature wise, both phones offer the same recording features/
I have flashed a couple roms, it was very easy and am very encouraged by the development work that is going on.
I'm one of those few people who actually like Sense, so I really do like what HTC has done with the UI. The ICS dialer pissed me off to no end, it was huge bulky and just seemed very.. blah. While the Sense dialer isn't better, it is at least a bit more functional.
One last thing I would throw out there is that I never knew about the UOT Kitchen (can't link yet, but search the forums and you'll find it) until I happened across a post in this forum. I have to say, it is one of the coolest and easiest ways to give your phone your own personal flair. I'm sure that ICS / GNEX will be supported on the Kitchen but for now, you at least get that benefit on the Rezound.
Anyway, hope this helps somewhat.

I can't give a good answer to that as my area isn't 4G... I have chargers everywhere in my house and at my office so Battery Life isn't such an issue for me. I have flashed two roms today and have been playing with it non-stop all day and I think it has been on the charger maybe two hours.. Maybe someone in a 4g area could respond to that better.. I do know that on a normal day, it is way way better than my Nexus... The batt life was HORRID on it.. On the Rezound I wouldn't consider getting the bigger battery, because the battery isn't that bad for me.. In 8 days of owning the SGN, my battery went dead 3x... Rezound hasn't gone dead yet..
I loved the SGN... I'll be the first to tell you.. If it had a louder speaker and a better reception, I'd still have it... But the rezound has a awesome speaker, and the reception is hands down as good as my Droid X or better...
Its a big decision for you to make.. I don't think you will be unhappy making the switch...
I made the switch. I miss ics miss
I don't miss the poor battery life.
I don't miss the loud signal in reno
I don't miss the soso camera
I don't miss the plastic cheap feel.
I have the bigger rezound battery. I haven't used it. The stock battery seems fine.
I love the camera.
It's really fast.
I think I like the 720 screen better on the rezound.
Beats is lame. The headphones are heavy and barely stay in my ears.
I'm not a fan of sense but I don't hate it.
I will keep the rezound. It just works.

I agree.
We have both phones on our corporate VZ account. I am in charge of that account and get my phones for free.
If I wanted a GN I could have one tomorrow, but I am not impressed with the GN AT ALL and I couldn't wait to get one for months before it was actually released.
I do like the huge screen size, I wish my Rezound had a 5" screen, but there is absolutely NOTHING ELSE I like about the GN.
~John
For me it turned out to be more simple than I thought, I had been up for an upgrade for about 6 months (previous phone BB Curve). I was debating on specs and features of the Razr, GN, and Rezound. I would go back and fourth on what i really wanted. But as soon as I waled into the store and actually picked up the phone, i knew which one I wanted. Razr felt horrible in the hand and just down right uncomfortable (i am really not a thin kinda guy). GN felt as if even with a case it would break at even the smallest drop. But the RZ felt solid even w/o a case.
Even after looking at how the phones worked, it still went to the RZ. Now my decision was even more correct now that I have it fully rooted.
I get great battery life (for the type of phone)
Great platform for whatever I use my phone for
Great picture quality
and a VERY solid device that I have a feeling I will be happy with for 2 more years.

Guy obviously has no idea what he's talking about.....

I'm one of those people that ended up with an incredibly reliable Thunderbolt. It hardly ever crashes, fixed GPS, Liquid rom, extended battery/case from Trident. It's a very reliable phone, very quick.
But I do want something newer, something faster.
Now with the Thunderbolt, I could S=off -> S=on and send it back no problem.
With the Rezound, it appears it's not that simple. I've seen that rooting and unrooting leads to "TAMPERED" being tagged. Has anyone exchanged one under warranty and had any issues?
How "moddable" is this phone without risking the Tampered tag. If I want to use custom roms and over-clock the CPU, is it still possible?
Has anyone moved from a rooted, Liquid flashed reliable Thunderbolt to a Rezound that can share their experience? Thanks guys! I considered the Nexus but I don't know how Google could mess up their selection on a manufacturer that bad. The best Nexus phone so far was HTC branded and the worst Android devices of the new era have been Samsung branded. So who do we pick for the Verizon Nexus? Oh yeah let's go with Samsung, GREAT choice.
its not as close to moding as the tbolt, I also used both.
Scot makes phenomenal roms I only use his roms, but there are other amazing developers , so there is no lack of great devs for this phone.
HOWEVER :
Coming fro the tbolt with cm7 ( and all its derivatives) the sad truth is ( imho) that my tbolt was and still is faster than my rezound with 0 Lag and incredible signal with battery life.
Here is why I think thats the case: The mere sizes of the rom should tell you something , cm with gapps never really exceed 150 mb. There is not a single rom out there not ( ics or gb sensed and desensed ) that is less than 300 for the rezound
Also its all wishful thinking with the s-off , devs have made great accomplishments but there is no solid hard proof that it will be release to the masses as of yet.
S-off has amazing benifits. On the tbolt i can flash 4 different roms in one day trying to find one that i like , between sense, senseless, cm or actually towards the end miui. Nandroid restore was an absolute breeze if something went wrong ( such as the infamous gps issue ).
Not so much with the rezound, nandroid restore is really reserved for the same class of roms ( meaning if you nandroid restore a gb from ics , you have to go through a lot of hoops and read endless pages of forums. )
The thunderbolt RIL accomplishment is also worth its weight in gold, I dont really see that department being touched right now.
I tried liquid and I loved dhackers shoftao5p, his work was simply GOLD. you will NOT get the same smoothness with the rezound specially if you have another launcher on top ( Go launcher is my favorite, and its terrible on the rezound, on both ics, and gb . But it was liquid smooth on the tbolt ). You will not get all the beautiful mods liquid and cm had , although we are getting there on the mods.
The rezound is an awesome phone bec whats underneath the hood, but i think of it this way, if you have an awesome engine and but so so transmission and tires , you wont really get the full potential. I dont that full potential being really unlocked until the RIL and the s-ff are fully accomplished. The sad reality is that by the time all of this is accomplished HTC would probably have a newer phone with jelly bean on it.
I got the rezound bec like you, i wanted the next big thing, and i saw the hardware and I was so under the impression that it will crush my tbolt flat . And the fact that its the only phone beside the tbolt that does data and calls simultaneously on 3g ( Note: dont let other ppl fool you by telling you any 4g phone can do that, yes they can but only in 4g or wifi, unlike the tbolt or rezound).
Also the rezound graphics and camera are beyond imagination , but to me speed , battery life and signal are the most imp factors and even though they have comparable signals, my super tweaked tbolt had jaw dropping battery life and speed . It handled whatever launcher whatever game or video like a beast, and it stayed at a cool 29 degrees on the hottest summer day
if your into super tweaking your device and making every little inch of your phone work for you the way you want it , then stick with the thunderbolt for the moment and keep a watchful eyes.
and the s-off topic and cm are very sensitive, but hey, whats another forum on which ppl will cuss me out on calling it for what it is
Until we get S-Off (which appears it may be coming soon), you have to unlock the phone to root it and it's not possible to return it to a Locked stated (it will say Re-Locked)
The Tampered tag came with the leaked firmware updates, after installing those and flashing a custom recovery, you'll get Tampered.
You can unlock it and run the latest ICS roms using a patch vs flashing the latest firmware.
There have been plenty of people who claim they returned a Re-Locked phone back without issue. We do have one user though who got charged for his phone a few months later, they have not been able to get a solid answer out of Verizon as to why the charge.

This can be summed up with two issues.
1) Nandroid can't restore kernels because we don't have S-Off. You need to flash it manually or use the Nandroid Helper script to restore a kernel. If and when we get S-Off this will be a non issue.
2) The latest firmware changes the SD card mount points. If you have the latest firmware installed and want to switch to a rom not based on the latest leak, you need to flash a script to fix the SD mount points. With most of the latest ICS roms now supporting the older firmware, I would hold off installing it til we have an official update.
it's a nice phone but the battery life blows worse than the tbolt.

The contrary is true for me. I get waaaaaaaay better battery life on my rezound. The thunderbolt is great. But the rezound is better. They guy above that said the rezound isn't as smooth doesn't know what he's talking about. The rezound is lightyears ahead smoother. It could just be golauncher that he has problems with for one simple reason, the thunderbolt has a 480x800 screen, the rezound has a 1280x720 display, that launcher is obviously not optimized to work on that rez so it pits a heavier load on the rezound trying to get it to function properly. I've been using Apex launcher and it has been buttery smooth.
All the rezound needs is aosp, s-off would be nice but it isn't really nessisary.
Don't worry about the whole tampered relocked thing, several of my family memebers have returned their rezound with the relocked on and we have yet to hear from Verizon about it.

For me the battery life is worse. But once we get some decent custom kernels that may change.

I have amazing battery life on my Rez. Clocked @ 1.76ghz heavy/moderate usage w/ the extended battery 24 hours and 33% left to go.
I get nothing but stellar battery life on my Rezound. And I was skeptical about picking up an LTE device at first, but my mind has been changed after having the phone for a month. I'm loving it.

If this is on the standard battery, it's right on par with what it should be. Comparing the Rezound to the measly resolution of the tbolt is apples to oranges.
Battery life is not bad on the rez given the great 4G signal and the powerful CPU/GPU. Then again it really depends on how soon we get S-Off for the rez to be on par with the TBolt in terms of customization.
I have a droid 3 and wanting to get a thunderbolt to get me by, just wanted to know if anyone has ran into issues with the phone? I know there was many before the ICS update but wanted to know if anyone has had any problems with it since the update?
ICS made it much better but I still don't suggest getting one lol. For a little more you could get a rezound or galaxy nexus.

I didn't want to be the first one to say it haha.
Like disconnecktie said, If you have the option of getting a newer much better phone then take it. Most of us were suckered into this phone either at release or, in my case, joining Verizon.
Each phone has a trade off. At a time the bolt was about the easiest phone to root till they came out with their boot loader updates. The rezound is the phone I have now and over all is a good phone but at times reminds me of my old bolt plus to get s off you have to short out the phone. But s off isn't needed if you load the boot.IMG via your computer and fastboot. The gnex is good if you like to use custom Roms and so on. Its that true Google experience but radio signal can suck. Seems like a hit or miss for this and heard of screen burn in.
With my having the rezound I would say go for the gnex as you will have better access to updates via the gsm version. I wouldn't get the bolt as its old and being the first 4g phone it has issues and the ril is just crap and what kept this phone from being much better on the Dev side.could look at a s3 as those prices are coming down slowly with newer phones coming out. So if you like flashing custom Roms and so on then the gnex is for you. If you want a good all around phone the rezound is for you. I suggest if you can find them play with them first and see which fits you better.
My wife had the d3 and in two weeks got her a d4.

I've had my bolt now for two years. At first it was pretty cool. ICS did make it more stable but we had to wait forever to get it. It is easy to root from the last time I had to root it and I was able to get EXT4 recovery on it (Best recovery in my opinion). There are TON of custom roms out there from GB all the way up to the latest ICS. It's a good phone but I'm getting rid of mine and going over to the GS4 if only because I like new and shiney things and because my Tbolt how has a crack from the lower left to upper right of my screen and the far right side of my screen doesn't react to touch any more.
If you want a phone that's easy to root, recovery and flash on, the Bolt's pretty good. But if you want a really good phone stock, go with the newer ones like the DNA, HTC One, or the SGS4
