Uninstall clockworkmod recovery - HTC EVO 3D

How do I get back to normal recovery???
Cmw has been nothing but trouble for the longest time I couldn't even flash into recovery ,my phone just kept rebooting then I had to upgrade to clockworkmod touch just to get it work. It finally works I guess...but don't want it anymore.

I would say probably not since they are not even the same manufacturer. Try the DroidX boards.

Yeah, at one point clockworkmod didn't backup the WiMax RSA keys (doh!)
I'm using CWM now though, I used Amon RA's recovery on the OG EVO. So far so good.
Does the battery charge with fastboot off and the phone off now (ie is it a new version of cwm for the Evo 3d)?

Not sure, I'm trying to find a changelog for CWM, having a little trouble finding it.
EDIT: found this, but doesn't specify minor revisions.

Working good...
Did a full backup/restore to test.... also flashed 2 roms and 1 kernel...
I have CWM Recovery installed from Revolution.
I installed Clockwork Mod Rom Manager and before I try to update I wanted to see what thinks I have and what it's going to upgrade too.
But after poking through the other options it thinks I have NO Clockwork recovery installed.
U have to install the one from the Rom Manager App

[Q] CWM vs. TWRP?

Are there any clear benefits of one recovery over the other? I'm a fan of TeamWin but I'm comfortable with CWM... Is either recovery clearly superior?
Preference is the deciding factor.
Appreciate my help? Thank me
Not sure which one is better, but i've been using ClockworkMod 4.0.1.4 that came with Revolutionary S-OFF tool and it's worked flawlessly so far.
Do CWM work with Rom Manager
I personally like TWRP for the customization options plus the race horse is kinda cool too.
Nope...

Yep, I was curious and used rom manager to flash the recovery... worked perfect. I enjoy being able to go into rom manager and select "reboot to recovery" instead of having to hold down button combination (i know, lazy).

You can just click on the first option in Rom Manager, which is "Flash ClockworkMod Recovery". That's pretty much it.

I'm a big fan of Rom Manager. I use it to organize my backups. I've used since day one of the OG Evo and never had a problem with it. If anyone is having any bugs, go into the market and download rom manager and update clockwork mod recovery. Mines working flawlessly!
I remember a long time ago, people claimed that clockwork recovery had a problem with wiping cache and dalvik cache. Is that still an issue? Thats the only reason I stopped using rom manager back in the day.

there shouldnt be any issues when flashing the newest clockwork right? say, making a backup in the CWM that came with REVO and then trying to restore it with the newest clockwork? i feel like that is an issue simply because i made a backup of my stock rom with the newest recovery and i got the MD5 error, and i cant restore it. im doing a full backup and restore test right now, ill report back.
EDIT:alright so i was able to do a full restore with the newest clockwork. i guess i just got a bad NAND on my stock rom. and the funny thing is the same thing happend with a stock rom on my G2. what causes this damn MD5 error?
That would be appreciated by many here... Don't want to get stuck with no way to restore

Need help with evo 3d stuck at boot screen

Hey guys maybe some budy can help, I can go into recovery and wipe data, cache etc.. but for some reason I can't run any rom that runs with sence they all get stuck at boot screen, the phone freezes,.. but I can intall miui through fastboot and everything runs ok, rom boots it doesn't get stuch what's happening, by the way I unrooted the phone the HTC way so I'm on 1.5..
You need to reinstall a different kernel through fastboot usb. If miui works then a sense rom won't until you flash compatible kernel.

Similar problem being stuck in boot screen
I am on twrp shooter 2.0 with hboot 1.5 and I was running syncombelite when I tried to in stall the CM9 Alpha build and I was not having luck with loading the rom through recovery so I tried to use Flash image GUI. It loaded the image but after it was done it would not boot. I was stuck on the HTC boot screen. I tried to do a nandroid recovery and the same thing over and over. I figured maybe try a different rom so I tried a couple.. I used one and it actually made it past the boot screen and loaded the Beats audio logo then was stuck there for maybe 30 minutes before I tried a reboot and the same thing. Then I though I wll do a superwipe so I downloaded the synergy superwipe along with the
fresh-evo-3d-4.2.0 then it made it past the HTC boot and just went black for another 30 minutes. Now I am at a loss. Please help me...
Dale if your reading this I am the guy you helped a while back with the Toshiba thrive..maybe a month ago then I made a generous donation. I am happy to pay someone for their time. Please help..I need my phone. Thanks all.

The recovery you use shouldn't matter. I have used CWM touch and non and TWRP all the same as long as it works for you. The easy way to flash CM9 is to use FlashImageGUI.apk before you wipe your current rom. Do not wipe ROM before using FlashGUI as it needs a OS to run on.
First flash recovery, whichever you want. If you don't already have one.
Put CM9 on sd
Flash boot.img from CM9.zip with Flash...GUI.apk (browse to CW9 on sd card)
Boot recovery, Flash rom from there.
(Flash..GUI should ask if you want to boot recovery after flash)
I used TWRP to flash CM9 tonight so I know it works 100%
I have tried that and I get stuck at HTC boot screen. I'm at a loss. I finally got virus eternity to flash using fastboot on my pc. I then tried ics (yes I know that's not what we were talking about) but I can't flash many different Roms lately. It's just weird. I have been rooting and flashing for a couple years now but I'm feeling more noobish lately than ever.

Clockworkmod doesn't work

I have hboot 1.5 and used fastboot to flash the clockworkmod 5.0.2.0. shooter image, but whenever I try to boot into recovery my phone sits at the HTC screen for a while then reboots into the OS. TWRP works fine, but I prefer CWM. Anyone else have his problem/ figure out how to fix it? I have also tried using rom manger to flash cwm, but the same thing happens.

Where are all the CWM defenders now?
*Anytime ANYONE has an issue with it, they scatter.
*Anytime ANYONE has something negative to say about it, they get all up in arms and butthurt trying to defend its effectiveness.
This OP has just provided another ^^^ post stating that it is, in fact, not working correctly...
Deja Vu all over again.
By the way, OP, you state that TWRP "works fine", but you "prefer" CWM...
(Why would you prefer something that doesn't work over something that has been proven to work time and time again?)
CWM hanging?
I've got another problem with CWM. Planning to install a custom ROM on a Blade and booted into CWM ( v5.0.2.0 ) and it looks OK, gives me the menu but if I select any option it just hangs at the "hat" image. If I press the phone's menu button I can get back to CWM menu and select another option with the same result but can't go anywhere else.
The phone will only boot into CWM and I can't access the phone via USB.
Is it bricked? Any ideas how I can get out of this?

you have a reboot bc your boot.img file is corrupt... when you go into your hboot and then try recovery your not going anywhere b/c you have either the stock recovery installed or a corrupt version of what you want to use... what you need to do is first off download the correct and FULL version of your recovery then go to the fastbootusb screen and reflash it... then from there if you have the rom installed already extract the boot.img file from there and manually flash that and see how that works.. if it loops again then you have a bad boot.img for sure...
So I had to buy Cmw touch from ROM manager for $3. Now it goes to cmw recovery which is ok but would rather have the old boot recovery back. I wish u knw how to do that. Any advice???(un laments terms) LOL.
