Good evening, I'm having a problem with the backup.... (I am kinda new in this BUSINESS though...) After i make one i can't restore it, only the original android one, i do not know why. It is very annoying when i install another ROM and then, when i want to go back to the previous one, the boot screen freezes... Any ideas? Or a tutorial?

do mention the recovery version u are using ,wipe before restoring if the rom is not identical based as sometimes it might be an issue for screen freeze on bootscreen ,like cm7,cm9,gb are eg of diffrent rom but if u are flashing cm7 official and some modded cm7 by dev than it should not be an issue , use amonra3.0.6 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1523050 see if it solves

hi.
i flashed stock rom S5830XWKS2 through Odin. the phone started rebooting randomly.
then i flashed custom rom TheMyth KS3 but the problem kept getting worse. when i'm using the phone, it reboots every few seconds.
i flashed stock rom S5830XWKS3. but the Baseband version in the phone didnt change (S5830XWKS2). and the problem is still persistent.
the phones does not do full reboot. it freezes, the screen goes black, then goes strait to the boot animation.
also, if it reboots while transferring files through mass usb storage, the transfer doesnt stop, to continues normally.
1. any idea why is this happening?
2. why didnt the baseband version change when i flashed KS3?
3. do you recommend another stock rom to flash.
p.s: KS3 seems fast. i got 1040 score in quadrant on stock rom.
i would appreciate any help. thanks

Hey !
The Baseband Version is KS2 while Build is KS9 (in my stock rom)
If you end in Bootloops, press Power + Home till you get into recovery, then Clear data/Factory Reset and clear Cache, then reboot.
Come back and tell me if it worked for you.
Greetings
thank you for your reply.
it's actually not a bootloop. the phone boots normally and works fine for some times (few seconds/minutes) then it freezes for few seconds, then the screen turns black for a second, then shows the boot animation (doesn't show the boot screen with the samsung logo). it works fine for some time, then again.
it seems that the problem is related to the wifi. it only happens when wifi is on.
On Samfirmware.com they say that you should make a Factory Reset after flashing, maybe that works for you ? I flashed the KS9 Stock today and had some problems till I did this in Recovery. Else I would have no Idea, maybe reflash or get another Version ?
You could also try to install any custom Rom, like Jusada´s ICS for example, just to test if there are problems with CM also ..
Umm, maybe a question to those who only touch the Earth to answer our Newb questions...is it possible that the Ace restarts when it get´s attacked from the outside ? I faced that after flashing a Rom that I modified and didn´t have the right Permissions the Phone restarted/bootlooped when I tried to install any App (\data\app wasn´t set correct)
Greetings
thank you. i guess i'll try to flash again. or maybe try a different stock.

The original TheMyth creator said that KS3 was badly unstable .
Use KS2 instead

He should try to upgrade to KS3 v1.1. That's final update for TheMyth KS3 with:
- Meizu Myth theme
- BLN Control activated
- changed some small things
>> I think this update can help him to solve frequent random reboot in TheMyth KS3

my first attempt was with KS2. that's when the problem started, even before i install TheMyth. The 1.1 update didnt help either.
I guess my phone is not getting along with the KS2 baseband. i will just switch to GingerReal, hopefully it will be stable.
thank you everyone
I have already posted in the thread for it but getting no help there. I have flashed the zip through recovery launched from rom manager and it's not working, can anyone tell me why? I could really do with some signal now, it's been days!

Just a try:
Do not use ROM Manager.
Start your phone into recovery mode (shut down and hold Volume UP + Home + Power as long as you can see the recovery menu).
Then try to flash the zip file from sd card again.
Good luck !
Just tried that and no luck there, still no signal.
****, I even tried going back to 1.11.11 or whatever, and still no signal, WHAT
I'd really like to try MIUI but when i flashed i also got no signal, which is obviously needed on a phone. I flashed back to stock rooted for now until this issue is fixed, if i were you i'd flash another Rom till it's fixed
Sorry if it's not the answer you wanted but at least you'll be able to use your phone for now

Try to back to official rom.
If this doesn't work, if think that you f****d your /efs
Before do anything, backup your /efs folder.
If you lose your /efs folder, your S2 could be banned from carrier network.
what/where the hell is /efs folder?
MIUI have a new update so I'm hoping the ROMs will be out when I wake up tomorrow, if not, gonna go back to stock ROM because this is ridiculous.

Try GingerMod in the android Original development thread. or CM7. MIUI hasnt bothered fixing that bug for the GS2 for ages.
do the following->
1. Flash a Stock gingerbread ROM.
2. Root it.
3. Install Nitrality from market.
4. open nitality->tools-> backup efs
5. Flash MIUI.
6. Install nitrality again. (Use wifi)
7. Open nirtality->tools->restore efs
8. Open Dialer and type *#06#
9. If an IMEI number is shown then Mission successful.
this worked for me when i first experienced this problem
It's okay now, after updating to 1.11.25 my signal is back
I'm having the same issue and I've posted on their forum and elsewhere.... bmarko didn't work, the nitrality efs fix didn't work because wifi wouldn't turn on, and upgrading didn't fix anything. I really have no idea what to do, I just want miui!
Hi everyone
a few days ago i have unlocked the bootloader on my xperia p following the official sony instructions.
After that i downloaded and flashed the sliding xp v5 kernel
Everything worked perfect and i wanted to install a custom rom, and i thought that the vision rom would be perfect.
I installed the vision rom v2 in cwm recovery and everything seemed perfect, i like the rom and everything is good but i have a few problems :-/
First i had the problem that sometimes when the screen locks and turns off, when i press the unlock button the screen wont turn on,i can hear that the phone works when i try to take a ss i hear the soind, but the screen wont turn on until i hard restart the phone :-/
The second problem is that the phone just restarts itself randomly sometimes :-/
And the last thin is that when i go in the dialer to call someone it happebs alot of times that the phone lags a lot there and it happens often that when someobe is calling me or when i call someone that it lags and the phone freezes :-/
Can someone tell me why is this happening, because of the kernel or the rom?
and what should i do to fix it,if possible i would like to keep all the settings which i made because i allready personalized it much....
Thanks to everyone in advance

First that came in my mind is that this kernel and the rom are not for eachother - so try to flash munjeni's kernel and the rom again and try it.
Before that flash stock rom via flash tool to make clean install.

Thanks for your quick reply, right now the internet at my home isn't working so i will have to wait before i try it.
I have never used flashtool before so i want to ask you if anything from my phone will be deleted like apps, contacts or something else?
I have also made a backup using cwm before i installed this rom, would it be ok if i just restore the backup, then flash the new kerbel and after that the vision rom again?

First of all the flash stock rom you need to put the ftf file in Flashtool/firmwares
Then connect the device in flashmode and flash rom (device switched off and to enter flashmode just do vol- and put usb in).
When flashing official stock rom as much as i know you will lose data, and its better to have clean install.
If you flash munjeni's kernel and the rom you want, and if you restore the back up that will flash the old boot.image too, i mean the old kernel and that is not wanted.

if you do not wipe immediately, you get some system ui has stopped like something. so it is always good to wipe as soon as you see samsung logo after the rom is flashed. pull out the battery and quickly boot into recovery and wipe everyhting and you should be good to go

i have done that, infact without doing that my phone wuldnt have boot up after the downgrade...
but that problem still resist...can it be due to some corrupted file which might be cuzd by 4.2.2 ?maybe it spoiled some system file.

i've been on stock roms since i got the phone,so cant say anythin cuz i didnt flash any custom rom.
Hello everyone
Yesterday while restoring a backup of my rom, I also restored the firmware (didn't know I wasn't suppose to do that :/) and lost my IMEI etc.
I fixed that by flashing a stock rom suggested on another thread.
That fixed the IMEI and everything.
I restored my rom (correctly this time) and got everything back (I'm on Cardinal)
But now my gyroscope and accelerometer are acting weird.
I used an app to test and saw it was really erratic, jumping from side to side etc.
Now I have no idea where to go from here.
Any help would be great
Thanks

You can always flash the firmware file, if you want.
Do that, it should fix (most probably)

How do I go about doing that?

If the rom you restored is aosp based then the firmware which you have for aosp roms, but if you have miui then installing miui again will fix it.

I restored a backup of a Lineage based rom, that's what cause the problem with the IMEI vanishing in the first place.
And I've read that the persist.img is what can fix the accelerometer... So confusing.
