Hi guys! I am new to the forum, (but after that video I probably think you won't care).
Anyways I installed ICS on my Transformer TF101 and I was thinking to overclock it. Now i saw some thread already on this forum about it, but it was talking about the Transformer Prime (TF201) is there any overclocking kernel for the transformer on ice cream sandwich?
Thanks!

Edit: Ouch, just saw that about four other people posted at the same time as me. Sorry!
Nvidia just now said during their CES press event that the Tegra 3 "is getting ICS today".
They used/are using an ICS transformer prime for their presentation.
That's probably all it meant.

Just out of curiousity..i have a gnex with 4.03 ics and the transformer prime with 4.03...all good right...not exactly i was looking at the kernel information...and somethin i noticed is that the transformer prime has a kernel based on 2.6 as opposed to the gnex which has a 3.0 based kernel...now if i'm not mistaken true ICS comes with a 3.0 based kernel...my question is why in gods name asus did u choose to use a 2.6 base when ICS is suppose to have a 3.0 base kernel maybe i'm wrong as i'm not a dev...but from what of i've read here on XDA using kernel hackery to get ICS to run can cause some issues....perhaps this is the reason why some things arent working exactly as they should in ICS...cmon Asus fix this..i would have rather waited patiently for a full ICS rom based on 3.0 then 2.6 hackery that was released.
I read somewhere that the kernel was the cause of the random reboots some people were having, hopefully in the next update they'll fix this!

wouldnt surprise me...the easy fix would be unlock our bootloaders now lol
That is certainly curious... interesting find.
Thanks.

Thanks...very interesting as i did not know that. I wonder if faceunlock and wifi direct will be unlocked in 3.0 based kernel update. We do have the files inside the prime but disabled for some reason. Also the 5Ghz files.
It would b interesting to see what version kernel the xoom is running for its ics ...I'd assume its 3.0 based since its a google experience device...I believe face unlock will b enabled with a new kernel

I am pretty sure NVidia provides much of the code for the kernel.
Wow, ICS has barely been out.
I know that there has been threads about Jelly Bean, but I am not sure if I had read that ASUS confirmed that it would be Jelly Bean.
Does this mean Google and Asus maybe working on a Nexus tablet, since asus has made this announcement?
Hopefully with the new wave of tablets from Asus we can still use the TF201 dock with them. If so I wouldnt mind sticking with Asus tabs...especially if they ever make one that works as advertised....lol

Sorry guys if this is old news, and just let the thread die.

I think lots of people could care less about Jelly Bean since their tablets haven't been working since Honeycomb!

I couldnt agree more.
Hard to be excited about anything until they get ICS on the Prime right.

Android 5 will be released about a year after Android 4, which was released about a year after Android 2.3. Honeycomb was an interim release. I'm not sure why everyone is so bent out of shape about this--things are moving along pretty much according to schedule.
Just because someone confirmed Jelly Bean as the name for Android 5 doesn't mean it's coming out anytime soon... I'd say, it'll be October at the earliest, although like ICS it might be previewed over the summer.

"On the official company blog, ASUS has come out and said that due to an overwhelming amount of customers “dissatisfied with the performance of the GPS module” in the Prime TF201, consumers in the UK will be able to return their tablet for a full refund, or should they decide to keep it, enroll in a 12 to 18 month extended warranty plan."

I can't!
Knowing some of the work from other Virtuous U-Series ROMs, any ideas on what tweaks we might be in store for?
What and where have you read?

Still no news though.....
Maybe waiting for Asus to fix I/O in soon to come update.... or waiting for Jelly Bean, so they don't have to re-code everything once we get the update
I HOPE!!!!
i'll probably jump to this ROM when it get's its update.. hate to leave Androwook...
I thought diamond left us? Got a link ?
I don't recall any discussion since the OP. They are a secretive bunch!
Nothing is mentioned in the "other" forum. They randomly came out with an update for my phone recently, but it really came out of nowhere with no discussion or mention in either place.

Yeah. Me too. Waiting.
I wish the prime had the support that the Galaxy s3 has. After I got it, the forums are loaded with roms, kernals, modems. It was the easiest to root and install anything.
This Virtuos Series is the only dev department that has been with us since the beginning and I really hope they release something cool for us to use. I know the group works with mainly HTC so we will see!

Yeah I'm crossing my fingers that JB will significantly help the problems on some people's primes considering the similarities of hardware between the prime and the nexus 7

I was reading today that Asus is confirming JB 4.1.x will come to the Prime, TF300 and TF700 tablets. No word though on the TF101 or the Slide tablets.

I'm not holding my breath either. I will unlock and go with a community developed custom rom of Jelly Bean unless Asus gets out a beta firmware release first.

Actually they need to fix their kernel first... TF300 still has the same issues with games. Hopefully it is just software, and not hardware related.

Based on what? I see a lot less work for Asus to go ICS->JB plus I think they know the recipe having build the Nexus 7 and all. That PDK should help them immensely to get their Nexus 7 work ported to the tf201-300-700
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HHfOejlvVsY&feature=youtube_gdata_player
Building an AOSP build based off of BumbleDroid's device vendor for JB. Since I did not create "it", I just compiled it, it will be in General, not development if it works.

I find it funny that before ICS came out everyone was "Ohh, I can't wait, it's going to be so great, Yea Yea Yea"
I had no problem with Honeycomb and rather enjoyed it to be honest.
Now it's the same thing with JB
I've dug every Android version from 2.1 to now. Each has their problems and strengths. I do enjoy getting the latest versions and ICS is starting getting old to me so any update will do. I don't think JB is going to be much of a difference in appearance but hope the performance is better that ICS. I can live with ICS if Asus never gives the Prime JB though.
I really would like to see a complete jump to Android 5.0 not these incremental baby steps.
Just my observations and opinion.
This thread should be titled, "It's only a matter of prime."

Based on the fact that there is probably no one working on the Prime any more at ASUS. ;p

Well since they announced JB like 3 weeks ago, its a well known fact about the appearance and performance changes. I'm not sure what you're trying to predict since everyone has seen it and a lot are running it already. I have JB on my galaxy nexus and it feels like a new phone to be honest. Its a little ridiculous to expect a completely revamped version of the OS every year
