[Q] should I buy a samsung galaxy tab 10.1 ??? - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi everyone
I was going to buy it asus transformer but I found a tab 10.1 16gb for 300 $ new with warranty
my problem is there is no expansion slot on tab 10.1 and keyboard is nothing like asus transformers keyboard also im moving up from ipad 1 I wanna know is the display better in resolution and color.
is it better than the transformer ?
should I buy the tab or no ?
tnx

sure why not?
Sure why not? I like mine!

I would. Why not? Its an awesome tablet with lots for roms to choose from.

Yes, get it. I just got one a few days ago for a similarly good price. You won't regret it. It is an amazing piece of hardware.

I have one, and honestly, I think you would be better off either
A) Buying the "New" iPad
B) Wait for the Galaxy Tab 11.6
$300 is a pretty good price for the Tab, amazing actually, but I have been disappointed owning this Tegra 2 Tab. It's sluggish on transitions, and laggy at times, MANY MANY force closes. People here my say different, but I would wait for that Exynos powered 11.6.
Also, the iPad 3 is a STUNNER. I used one for 2 days before having to give it back :'( and all I can say is wow. The usability is just awesome, although I do prefer some features you get an an Android tab.

Haven't seen a Transformer up close so I can't compare it but I'd put the GT 10.1 display between the iPad 2 and newer iPad. New iPad screen is just fantastic.
Comes down to personal choice really; for me $300 sounds like a great price and I'd drop that with little thought if I was in the market for a new tablet. For others $300 might be a significant amount to spend.
On the flip side, if you check the local used market and aren't seeing things cheaper it might be worth it to buy the tablet, use it for a bit, and then sell it used if you don't like it. I can't see the value of it dropping much lower than $300 with things like the Kindle Fire out there selling for $200.

10.0000 better. buy without fear. just google and you will see the reviews. I recommend you.

I got my tablet one month ago, i immediately flashed overcome. Since then, not a single crash or bug. Transitions are fluid and i have not appreciated any lag. I am using it continuously, and it's being really handy at work. My wife has an iPad 1 and she is jealous of my tab ;-).

I wouldn't suggest buying another tablet but I would wait for something like the 11.6 the real ipad killer which would be awesome, because in all honesty when you see that beast you will forget about the 10.1 then again its still tba

I was in the same boat as you trying to decide. I even went against everything I believe in and decided to try the iPad and could only take it for 24 hrs and took it back. It was not for me and I wanted to like it so much, I thought I could have the best of both worlds, android and Apple since I have a S2 and original Galaxy Tab. But, I took it back and got the Tab 10.1 even though the Transformer Prime was calling my name, its a beautiful beast of a device and they support their tabs with great update support unlike Samsung, but I chose the Tab because I knew XDA would not let me down, so I bought it 2 days ago, and rooted it last night with some ice cream love.

^ I actually thought of the same thing, The only reason I chose the 10.1 over the Transformer (Not prime) was because they mentioned the transformer wasn't on the chart for getting the ICS update. However Transformer Prime does pike my interest, may add it to the collection over time. Sexy beast indeed. fapfapfapfpafafp

I am looking to change my original iPad, and thinking of the asus prime transformer, new iPad and tab 10.1. After using a galaxy S2 for six months I am really interested in the tab, however it looks a bit outclassed by the new iPad.
What would you guys recommend in my situation?

I got mine for free from Google through work. While I do like it, I would not have purchased one myself. I'd rather take the money and put it towards an ultra book. But it definitely does suffice for just web browsing, music, and as my alarm clock.

Problem is there is no such thing as ultra book, where I felt the 10.1 was at it's prime supremacy, there came the 11.6 and the Transformer Prime, FML.

there is no overkilling tablet .
pro ipad 3: best display and performance, many apps, ebooks, music etc.
contra ipad 3: apple..., expensive
pro transformer prime: best performance on an android tablet, good asus update politics
contra transformer prime: bad availability, expensive, no 3g yet
pro galaxy tab 10.1: good perfomance, stylish design like a well known apple product, open bootloader --> many custom roms, priceless
contra galaxy tab 10.1: bad update politics of samsung, haptics because of the missing gorilla glas aren't sooo good, accessoirs (hdmi, sd card, usb) only via dock connector
i think the galaxy tab 10.1 will be get an enormous speed increase with the upcoming ics firmwares from samsung (hardware acceleration is still missing, release maybe in may '12)
if you have the money take the quad cpu asus transformer prime otherwise the galaxy tab 10.1 will be a solid device for the next 1-2 years.
an 11.6 inch tablet isn't a rival to the ipad 3 i think. the ipad has the optimal size and weight, the galaxy tab 10.1 is the absolute maximum size for me. bigger sizes wouldn't be handy for the couch and a traveling with the tram or train. but that is my own opinion

499 for an iPad is not expensive, it is inline with competition. IMHO, Google and the companies really fudged up with Tablets. It is totally different with phones, you almost have to go Apple with the tablet and Android with phones. That's what I plan on doing.

I somewhat agree, tablet wise Apple would be nice, then again Apple has horrible tablet support, they're more focused on the phones.

[Q] xoom or galaxy tab?

Hello,
I am planning to buy a tablet this month. I am a medical student who wants to use the tablet mainly for pdf eBook reading, web browsing, -playing games sometimes, and writing notes and schedules. Here i am really confused. Should i go for 32 gb xoom 499$ or 32 gb galaxy tab 599$
Please give me some suggestions. I am getting tired of reading 5star reviews of these two competitors everyday.
go withthe galixy tab the xoom feels much slower. I dont think that being slower is worth instant updates
I thought about getting the xoom but looked around and figered that an extra $100 was worth the speed and how slim it is. I love my galaxy tab!!!
Gtab 10.1 hands down
you wont regret it
I went through Asus Transformer 4 times and for my 5th I decided it was time for something else. I seriously looked al each an every tablet. I would rank them as such;
Galaxy Tab10.1
ASUS Transformer
XOOM
Flyer
Thrive
Buy my priorities are form factor, fast, great screen, connectivity. Samsung has put out adapters for HDMI and USB. They are reasonable priced. So don't let all the 'it has no SD card or HDMI ports' scare you away as a viable option. I am finding the 32gb space more than adequate.

If you buy a tablet this week try using this $100 off coupon from Staples! You have until 7/30 to decide. It might make your choice easier!
http://reg.e.staples.com/c/s/tagfrm...sherga%40gmail.com&AID=10422268&storeId=10001
I had the Xoom, returned it for the Transformer, then returned the Transformer for the Galaxy tab 10.1. I will be keeping the 10.1 and love it.
The Xoom screen is TERRIBLE and it's way too heavy. And up until recently the Xoom was the most expensive tablet on the market, despite having the worst features.
The Transformer was just a big POS. Software was extremely slow on laggy, build quality was abysmal.
I have no need for microSD or HDMI so that was no big deal for me. what I wanted was a light tablet with a wonderful screen and high build quality. The Galaxy tab 10.1 is the only one that gives me that.
What the Xoom has going for it is that it is the first to get Honeycomb updates, and it's built like a tank (in a good way, meaning it's sturdy).
I would use the $100 Staples coupon and get the Galaxy Tab 10.1. Thankfully it is still shipping without Touchwiz, since I don't like how Touchwiz tries to make Honeycomb look like iOS (seriously Samsung, get off of Apple's nuts already, it's embarrassing).
GTab $529.99 on eBay right now. Brand new! Just saw it under my daily deals. LOL You guys are lucky.

What's your timing? Everything out now with the exception of the Prime is first generation. The Prime's got issues but if you're patient you can exchange it until you get a satisfactory specimen. It's not the device for you if you want GPS.
So, you can:
1) Buy a TF101 or other first-gen tablet for cheap and wait until later in the year to get a next-gen tablet.
2) Buy the Prime and know you might have to go through a couple to get one you're satisfied with.
3) Wait until other second-gen tablets come out from Asus and others and buy one then.
P.S. - My in-laws live in Lafayette.
And what do you plan to use the tablet for?
At this point it really isn't worthwhile to buy the original Transformer TF101. If you don't like the Prime, the TP300 will be out in 3-6 months that will be significantly better than the original TF101, but sold for the same price. If you really want a highres screen and LTE, wait for the TF Infinity.
I hope nobody rips me for this. But i have had about 5 TF 201's all worked pretty well aside from one had some dead pixels, and others had pretty bad light bleed.
The last one i returned was a C2 serial. Now i will make this clear i loved my Prime & i did miss it all times i had to return it and wait for another. But the random reboots usually 1-2 per day & the Browser lockup just would irk the hell out of me. And my constant problems with Youtube glitching. My wifi worked pretty well though. The icing on the cake was upcoming TF-700. Now who knows i might get another Prime i do check daily at my local Staples to see if they got any online.
I ended up going with a Galaxy Tab 10.1 "for now". They are on sale for $399 currently. Yes they are coming out with a 10.2 version 2 but its basically the same damn thing. Now the Galaxy Tab might not be zippy as the Prime "out of the box" but the Galaxy tab has been out for a bit and has a huge development section over here at XDA for custom Roms. So you can basically overclock it as soon as you get it and add custom roms from day one. Big for me.
One thing i noticed, now this is personal preference. I also just got a Galaxy Note Phone the other day. And i noticed while still using my Prime when i had it the colors seems washed out & the contrast did not seem as good as my Note phone. Basically is the same case with the Galaxy Tab. I prefer punchy colors others may not. So take that in consideration if you prefer natural tones. Blue & green tones are way vibrant compared to the Primes. Again personal taste here.
Tegra 3 is a great step for gaming. But i have a PS vita, a Xbox on a big screen so i don't game much on my tablet other than try ones out. I utilize my tablet to hack/root/customize & cool things like overclock, browse web, check email, watch youtube & browse XDA. And use it as a bathroom buddy .
So if you are willing to wait the obvious choice would be the New Prime Infinity. However id take a strong look at the Galaxy Tab 10.1 for the price and the great development on it thus far.
I had the dock as well for the Prime which was cool, but i basically bought it to utilize a usb wireless mouse and plug my xbox controller into lol. As well as it was great for propping the tablet up rather than holding it.
The TF-101 would prob be a good choice too. But i am a Samsung fan, especially their phones. And just prefer their punchy colors.
If I get the prime and unlock the bootloader will I be able to take it back?

I don't see why not. I have exchanged a few of mine and they just take it out of the box for a sec. Maybe boot it up and exchange it no prob. As long as you are in your return period.
I just can't decide whether I should get the galaxy tab or the prime. I really like the prime but I don't wanna deal with the wifi issues

Trust me the Prime is awesome if you are willing to deal with or wait until the kinks are worked out. And for the most part are around a stable wifi.
The Galaxy Tab is also a good choice for $399 and as i stated earlier i do like the more punchy colors. However the Prime will run ICS out of the box. But there are a ton of ROms for the Galaxy if you are willing to root.
How are the ICS roms for the galaxy?

There will soon be a ton for the prime too, development really just started. IMO it would be dumb to buy the galaxy tab at this point as its a first generation tablet and the second generation is already here. Seems like 400 down the drain you could use towards the prime or upcoming current generation tablets.

I totally agree that there will tons of roms for the prime. The only reason i can recommend the Galaxy tab over the "original" Transformer at this time is the fact that the newly announced Galaxy Tab is basically the same exact thing & spec & design wise.
Now i still would recommend the Transformer Prime if you are willing to be patient as well as get a good one. I find that the full aluminum back looks better than the new TF700. In my house my wifi has worked fine, pretty much on par with my Galaxy Note. And i always have my Galaxy Note with me to tether if i need a good wifi signal. But basically my Galaxy Note is a phone/tablet already lol.
So is the Prime worth the extra $100 now? I still think so, i was just throwing out other options. Keep in mind the Prime has the micro HDMI out built in & a micro SD card slot. While the Galaxy tab you would need adapters. So thats more $$$ there.
Thanks for all the help. I'm just gonna go to bestbuy and get which ever one they have in stock.

Just for reference i returned my Galaxy Tab. I brought it home and it sat on my desk last night and never opened it. So i picked up my 6th or 7th Prime. Cant remember at this point lol. I still love the damn thing. I am going without a keyboard dock at the moment though. To see how she does before i buy another.
I am just too impressed by the Prime. I just wanted to be honest. The Galaxy Tab is great. But if you are a tech junkie and want the latest and greatest. The Prime is the way to go if you can find one. Unless you were set on saving $100 bucks then the Galaxy would be a good choice.

Galaxy note 10.1

Anyone besides myself going to get the note 10.1? I already pre ordered the 32 gig model. I cant wait. sold my galaxy tab 10.1 to use the $ toward this beast. comes with a quad core processor and pen is integrated into the tablet. It will be perfect for medical school...
If anyone else is a tablet user, this is the way to go! you know our phones a great...I can just imagine the tab. supposed to be out sometime next month and well worth the wait...
The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 has a wide range of specs and features including a PLS TFT touch screen of 10.1 inches. It also has a main camera of 3.15 megapixels with auto focus, LED flash and 1080p video recording feature and a second camera of 2 megapixels.
The Galaxy Note 10.1 is powered by a two-core 1.4GHz Exynos processor. It runs on the latest Android OS, the Android 4.0 or Ice Cream Sandwich. It has a RAM of 1 GB, an internal memory of 16, 32 or 64 GB and a microSD slot to expand the device's memory to a maximum of 32 GB.
Sounds cool, but I think my note is just fine.. I wouldn't want to waste the money for the same thing just a bigger version ..does it have true usb ports? And external keyboard component?
The Asus Transformer PAD Infinity will be my next tablet. If i was going to spend $$$ on a tablet, you might as well get the best there is.
And how/where did you pre-order? Last time i checked, release date is still uncertain...because of the hardware changes they are making.
And if you were going to use it for school, what better tablet to use than the Asus Transformer. With the keyboard dock, my Prime is a beast. With an extra SDCard slot and a USB port and the added battery life...theres definitely no competition out there, as far as android tablets.
yes, the 10.1 will include a micro-SD card slot, full HD video support and the ability to work with other Wacom digitizing pens.
I ordered mine from a site called costcaptian and it is still rumored to be released in june...
the transformer is nice but for me the tablet as a 10.1 with a s pen is great for labeling pics from anatomy and memorizing them right there. I think the pen will be great for such like.
I also can use a blue tooth keyboard like i did on my galaxy tab and I m sure some cool components will be released when the note is...
just my thoughts.

As an original Asus Transformer owner, I can tell you, I won't be buying the Pad Infinity and with the ongoing fiasco with the TF101 and ICS, I have little faith in Asus' ability to pump out stable stock firmware. I loved my TF101 and have had it since launch day, but now over the past few months I've come to hate the thing. The dock is nice, but I'd rather have the stylus of the Note . To each his own! Both the Pad Infinity & the Note 10.1 are likely to be excellent devices (let's just hope support for both is adequate, as both Asus and Samsung have had their issues in that department).
I'm also looking forward to the Note 10.1 for one feature that it has that the Pad Infinity will not: the s-pen. I saw the Note 10.1 for pre-order on B&H Photo & Video's web site a few weeks ago, but the specs were all wrong. I'm going to wait until we have an official release date or a site like Amazon has it available for pre-order before I put in for one. But, I'm with the OP here, I can't wait for it.

I see. The latest ICS firmware update with Face Unlock for the TF201 is actually rock stable. But yeah, they're both going to be great tablets and both made for their own unique purpose. I'm really curious to see what the final specs are on the Note 10.1 though.
Lenovo ThinkPad
The Lenovo ThinkPad tablet in my opinion is the best whenit comes to paperless note taking. Your hand isn't recognised at all and it has a full size USB port and sd card slot, plus the screen resolution is great.

How much is the Samsung 10.1 tablet? Am curious now..I did like the Asus transformer.. I believe laptops will be obsolete very soon. These tablets processors are becoming faster through time. They'll end up taking over the laptop demand. You said it has the stylus capability that's sounds very neat.
My next tablet purchase will be the 4th Gen ipad. My note and ipad2 are plenty for the time being.

I won't buy a 10.1" tablet with 1280x800 resolution, especially after buying the new iPad. I may buy that new ASUS tablet or another with high resolution and probably will have to get Google's 7". Computex will probably be bringing lots of cool stuff

I'm looking forward to the 10.1 myself. I just wish Samsung would drop a release date and some pricing so I can prepare.
I don't mind about the resolution of the screen. I go from ipad 2 to 3 and there is certainly a difference, but for me it's easily overcome by the fact that the note will have the s-pen.

Had an iPad 1 64GB WiFi - Sold it to get an iPad 3.
Have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 - will sell it to get a Note AFTER I find out if it can handle .mkv video. I am rather PISSED that the Tab 10.1 won't play .mkv's. Yes, I know I can convert - I don't want to have to do so though. My iPad 3 + Jailbreak + XBMC works flawlessly....I just prefer Android to iOS. Plus, AMOLED > Retina IMO (...for those of you who want to flame - that means OPINION, not FACT.)

[Q] Good tablet to buy still?

Looking for a tablet. 10.1 been out for 11 months now. Is it outdated? I'm looking at this tablet because I trust Samsung to deliver quality products and 10.1 has been the most popular tablet I've read about.
Screen size, and android version are the most important to me.
What do u guys think. Is there another tablet I should be looking at? And no, I'm not paying $800 for a iPad, etc lol

Depends on what price your getting it for. I got a 32gb wifi one for £270 which is about $350 I think. If ics is really important and you need it NOW without rooting then it isn't for you, depending on how much you have to spend the tf201 might be better, the tf300 I heard is good but it's not available in the UK so I can't vouch for it. You could consider the tab 2 as well but in reality it probably slightly worse than the og tab sans ics!
Since your on xda I take it you care about the development aspect which probably means that the only real manufacturers you should consider would be Samsung, Asus, Archos and Motorola. Development on the acer, Toshiba, htc tabs etc are not nearly as active as others.
Sent from my Galaxy Tab 10.1 using XDA Premium HD app
I think it all depends on what your real need/expectation. I had an ASUS Transformer Prime that was far superior in most ways to the Gtab, but did not hold onto the WiFi signal well and the promised GPS, as designed, did not function. Those were two very important factors for me and I replaced the Prime with the Galaxy Tab.
The tab is slower, no ICS (yet), poorer screen touch sensitivity, fingerprints pile up in a hurry, and the cameras are not nearly as nice. BUT, for the need I have, the Prime didn't cut it and I'm much happier with the Samsung.
Just wish ICS would get here. I'm on the AOKP releases but it sure would be nice to have a working camera. (I know, I have a smart phone for that)
Not sure where you live but, in the states the galaxy tab 2 10.1 is out and retails at $400 for the 16gb wifi only version. I am sure that deals can be found for a first generation gtab, but the 16gb wifi version starts at $450.
The new one adds an SD card slot and a universal ir remote. I think the screen is close to the same if the same and the processor is pretty close too. The speakers face forward on the new one. That does seem to make a difference. Of course, the gtab2 comes with ics. The gtab1 will eventually get ics but who knows when.
Asus does have the tf-300 out at $400. Specs on paper are better than the gtab2. Personally, I'd go with a gtab2 but that is because I watch movies on my tab. I believe the Asus does have stereo speakers but they are right next to one another. The Asus does blow away the gtab2 in benchmarks but for my uses I don't see a noticeable difference. IMHO the screens on the gtab's are nicer too.

When I was considering buying my gtab my shortlisted tabs for my pricepoint were:
Archos G9 101
Moto Xoom
Asus TF101
Samsung Gtab
Toshiba Thrive
I ignored the Archos because it looked crap, I ignored the xoom & transformer because they were too heavy, thick & bulky and I ignored the thrive because it was stuck in the legacy boards. That was my reasoning!

I just picked up a mint condition 16GB for $250 on Craigslist locally. I think, at that price point, it's still a very valid option if you're in the market.
Go for the tf300. Its a generation ahead.
Oh and it is out in the UK.

Thanks

Questions go in the Q&A section
I would not buy again, because of the unbelievable slowness of delivering updates by Samsung.

Ex-Prime Owners....What's Next?

So since many folks have gotten rid of the Prime, what tablet did you replace it with?
The obvious # 1 choice; Infinity.
- They fixed the gps, wifi, micro sd slot. But there is still audio lag with bluetooth. They didn't fix the slow i/o...still using the slowest possible flash memory. And Asus also didn't increase the battery capacity, with the increase in resolution and clock speed....battery life is too poor.
# 2: Acer Iconia A700.
- High resolution screen, low everything. Low clock speed, low brightness screen, laggy performance.
# 3: Huawei MediaPad 10 FHD
- Hi resolution screen, super fast Quad-core 1.5 GHz K3 cpu. Release date unknown.
# 4: Lenovo IdeaTap K2
- High resolution screen, tegra 3, shown at CES...release date unknown.
# 5: Galaxy Note 10.1
- Exynos 4 quad core cpu, faster than tegra performance. Actual stereo speakers, 2 gb ram, digitizer pen, same smoothness as on Galaxy 3 phone. But a lower resolution screen.
# 6: iPad 3:
- Great mix of hardware and software....but a boring OS.
# 7: MS Surface and Variants
-Upcoming Win 8 tablets, performance on these tablets seem great so far, no price yet.
So what tablet have replaced Prime with, or are waiting to buy?
Hmmm. I still have my prime and love it with wookie ICS. Had to downgrade from JB still not refined enough for me. Im really digging the note though. I have the AT&T note in tablet mode and think its the best phone ever haha. Might have to pass the prime along to my kid once that comes out.

With a heavy heart, I went for the iPad 3. But I couldn't settle with it. I'm too much into the Google ecosystem and I much prefer Android as an OS. iOS is fine mostly, but the walled garden is too full of strangling ivy...
Off to Best Buy tomorrow to get the Infinity, and off to Apple to return my iPad.
Eagerly awaiting the Note 10.1 - have the Samsung Series 9 Slate (Windows)
I sketch and draw, so the wacom pen is pretty much a sell right there.
And it has a working GPS - with Glonass support.
And integrated CIR which makes it a remote control too.
I've long had a kind of dislike for Samsung because they have a mutual 'non-competition' agreement between Samsung USA and Samsung Canada, which would be ok - except that Samsung Canada brings in a teeeeeny subset of the products you guys in the US get.
On the other hand, recently they've been widening the range of products, and they just opened their first Samsung store in North America in Vancouver of all places. So, it would be hypocritical not to give Samsung a fair chance.
I rather like my Samsung Nexus phone - and I have a Samsung Series 9 Slate (the reference design for Windows 8) which is quite good as well... so I expect the Note 10.1 to be a solid device.
I'd really like to keep on with the Transformer line - but unfortunately, nothing Asus has done has made me feel they've earned my loyalty or even my trust. Time to move on.
I will try galaxy note first, if its not going to be good enough then I will get iPad, I know I hate iOS, but at least it WORKS really good.
I replaced it with iPad 3. Happy.
I guess we're still waiting for a good android tablet. I like the dock - maybe with the MS devices coming out, we'll see a few more of these come along (it's not the same, but it seems MS is pushing that type of form factor more).
Nexus 7.
Got the Nexus 7 till I see a worthy 10 in tablet. Nexus 10 would be fantastic.

Nexus 7, if you are comfortable with the form factor this N7 performance is far away from the prime.
I'm skeptical that the N7's performance improvement isn't largely software related. I would expect ASUS to leverage a significant amount of the transformer's design/components for yet another tablet rather than designing one from the ground up. I can't imagine them using blazing fast memory for example.
I went with the iPad 2. I'm hearing bad things about the iPad 3. Most people that has one wish they had kept their iPad 2. I liked my prime but it wasn't for ready for the prime time.
After exchanging my prime for the Verizon iPad 4G LTE I couldn't be happier. Although I love android, I prefer iOS on a tablet. However I'll never get an iPhone. Galaxy nexus ftw
Glad I cancelled my Prime pre-order after Asus took out the GPS from the spec. Now I have the Infinity which is faster, higher res and working GPS/Wifi. To those who upgraded for free from Best Buy, congrats and enjoy your new toy.
Got myself the infinity and i absolutely love it. Definitely what the prime would have been in regards to software
I replaced my Prime with the Infinity even though I did not have the many issues with the Prime that others had. But since Best Buy was willing to do the exchange, I went for it. The Infinity is really nice, but awaiting the Microsoft Surface and the new Samsung Note Tab.
There is very little to do with the infinity. Not many roms, didnt unlock mine yet because not sure i want to keep it. If you watch a movie (before the battery dies) the screen is nice but overall not that impressed, my prime with all the problems had jellybean and was working good, now , i feel we are back at square one, at least for the time being as not much is being devloped.. The battery is not great, 5-6 with a very low screen and not doing very much. I think we were all spoiled with the prime.. lol.
For tablets not much else out there right now
Got an Infinity and am using my original keyboard dock. Love it. If there is a IPS+ display version of the Nexus 7 released I will be very tempted to get one to supplement the TF700T.
Gonna be a windows 8 tablet for me, just missing the full experience of windows on the tablet... Excellent for surfing the web, listening some music and watching youtube but that's about it for me.
Also noticed I hardly ever used the prime without the dock anymore so bought a netbook (Samsung 305U1A) for now. A bit bigger then the prime (and damn, I do miss the touch screen hehe) but have hardly touched the prime since.
Can't wait for a nice windows 8 tablet/netbook combo (removable keyboar dock, just because). Just hope the price will be doable.
