Hello,
atfer i updated from ArchiDroid 2.2.3 to 2.2.4 i saw that GMaps wasnt shown in the Launcher anymore, so i checked and it isnt even installed on my device.
When i try to install it from the Play Store i get the Error Code: Incompatible with other applications(s) using the same shared user ID
So i tried to flash the latest GApps package for CM but still GMaps isnt showing up.
Does anybody know how i can fix this problem?
Regards,
Fixi
Same Problem
Have got exactly the same problem using ArchiDroid V1.7.3, issue was mentioned in the Develpoment section but the only solution offered was to wait a few hours until Google Play recognises the phone.
The rom been installed for several days now & I'm still unable to install G Maps from the store due to the ID issue, short of reinstalling the rom has anybody got any thoughts?
Thanks...
Hey.
You can download inverted GMAPS directly from my github -> https://github.com/JustArchi/ArchiD...system/app/com.google.android.apps.maps-1.apk then put into /system/app. Otherwise make sure that there's no uninstalled junk left in /system/app and /data/app directories. You can also clear google store's data. Eventually if everything fails you can full wipe and make sure to UNTICK google maps in aroma (if you don't want inverted version), it's unticked in the default configuration.
Let me know if you have further problems.
Have fun with ArchiDroid.
All Done
Many thanks for the info Archi, worked perfectly. Love the Rom, super smooth... :victory:
I am unable to install Google Play Services. I am getting the error "Application cannot be installed in the default install location". I've installed and updated other apps, but this is the only one giving me problems.
This has been going on for a while, but more and more applications require it. I couldn't even get my RedBox app to work anymore.
I just got the latest OTA this morning, and hoped it may somehow fix it, but no luck. Any ideas?
Chris
ROM: CyanogenMod 10.2.0
SGS3 i9300
Despite I'm logged in to my google account, on the web site my device is not recognized, so can't install apps from there, use the tracking service, etc.
Already have flashed the right Gapps file, re flashed it, delete and logg in again my account, delete play store cache and data, nothing seems to work.
On the phone, google play store works fine, is just the link between both plataforms.
Please, if someone has experienced the same problem and succeed solving it, help
Hi, my car has an Android infotainment system running 2.3.7 (yes, can't update that). It's rooted and I used to use an app called Market Helper to change the device identifier to access the Google Play Store. I don't know what I did, but in the recent weeks I can't access the Play Store anymore. I tried changing it back to default in Market Helper and it gives me a 'No Android ID found' error.
Trying to access Play Store will throw up an error saying 'Server Error' will pop up. I've tried clearing the Play Store cache, clearing the Google Framework cache, removing the Google Account and re-adding it, but to no avail.
As a last-ditch attempt, I removed the Play Store and the Google Framework and reinstalled them by gaining root access. Now the Google Account is removed. I tried re-adding my account but it says during the account login process that it 'Can't establish a reliable connection to the server'. I searched around and found that a common solution was to edit the etc/hosts file but that wasn't the problem. Any ideas?
Anyone? Bumping this thread.
The trouble: after resetting device/clearing storage/or changing credentials HTC Flyer does not let you to login to Google account/use market etc. Which renders device pretty much useless.
It says invalid username and password while entering actually VALID username and password
Source of the trouble: very old version of Google Account Manager used which makes Google identify device as Gingerbread. (thus not supported anymore, see link to news at very bottom)
Cure - WITHOUT UPGRADING ANDROID to glitchy custom build - but staying on official Honeycomb ROM:
(1) download from apkmirror.com newer versions (please use exact versions as listed below) of
Google Account Manager 4.0.3-239410 [ https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/googl.../google-account-manager-4-0-3-239410-release/ ]
and
Google Play Store 6.2.14 [ https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/google-play-store/google-play-store-6-2-14-release/ ]
(2) Enable "Install Apps from Unknown Sources" option in settings (Settings >Applications>Unknown sources)
(3) If your device does not have file manager installed then rename downloaded apk to give them shorter names like amanager.apk and store.apk and copy them to the root folder of HTC Flyer internal memory by connecting it to PC via usb cable(disk drive mode)
(4) install play store first, then and install google account manager. On the device without file manager just go to internet browser and navigate to:
file:///sdcard/store.apk and install it from air (do not download it, then package installer option #1)
then to
file:///sdcard/amanager.apk and install it too - the same way
(5) restart device - and you should be able to login to your google account now, also play store shouldn't crash (do not forget to disable automatic updates for the apps to not update play store to non-functional version)
Enjoy!
PS. Google account manager 4.0.3 is modern enough - so there is no need to turn on 'Less secure app access' under your google account/security. I also assume you are not using 2-step verification for your Google account which make things bit more complicated
Here the more detail on Google discontinuing support for older devices: [ https://www.makeuseof.com/old-android-phones-will-lose-google-apps-support/ ]
It appears I am the only user of HTC Flyer still alive )))

Me, for ebboks, Music, Series and movies When I'm waiting somewhere ; Thank you, one more time
Player3 joined the server.
I re-activated my HTC Flyer and your tutorial helpt me a lot! Google Play Books still can´t connect to my account, but Google Maps and other apps works fine. Trying to finy a nice browser for the tablet, since Opera Mini just don´t show websites flawless.
It is much better to install applications from .apk files rather than from Google Play Market
Since for Shapdragon S2 modern services Google is too heavy

Google fixed the way they use the OP
You have to buy another tablet for google services to work
Because 4.1 is the maximum for Flyer and even on this version Google services does not work
