Some reason my phone will not install the Kernel that is loaded with ViperRom Redline V2.5... Does anyone know where I can find the Kernel in a seperate zip? The only way it seems that I can successfully change my kernels is via Flash Image GUI. Current kernel I am using is Infected Antrax 2.6.35.14. Rom works however I am unable to get WiFi and 4G with this kernel and would like to get those up and running.

I successfully rooted my 1.5 hboot with HTC's official method. All my root apps work fine and I installed steel rom 2.01. My kernel version is
2.6.35.13-g84f8edd
I originally tried to flash synergy rom, this caused my phone to randomly (and frequently) reboot. I flashed steel rom and my phone is stable now. I downloaded the showdown kernel 2 from here at xda and flashed it by itself. I don't believe my kernel version changed; I would think it would say showdown something. My setcpu does not have any overclock capabilities right now.
Is this because I don't have s-off? If so, is there a way possible now to flash kernels on evo 3ds with the hboot v1.5?
Also if anyone has any tips on getting synergy to work I'd appreciate it.
Which synergy are you flashing? If you took the update and are on 2.3.4 you can't flash a 2.3.3 ROM. sounds like you are flashing an older synergy.
Edit: also there are no kernels for 2.3.4 out yet except the stock because HTC hasn't released the source code

The file I downloaded was synergy-evo3d-unofficial-345.zip. It took me a while and some confusion to find it. I think the thread said the kernel was included in the rom. But I think it also said 2.3.4. I would rather be on 2.3.3 with a custom kernel.
I just flashed synergy revision 318 and it didn't flash the ziggy kernel. I cleared data before flashing. I see my vrsion of androi is 2.3.3, and I tried flashing the showdown Kellernel 2. Any ideas? It still says I have the stock htc kernel.
You can't flash a kernel if you rooted using HTC's unlocker method.

HTC's unlock method doesn't let you flash kernels ( not to my knowledge but I could be wrong ) I've read several threads about people trying to flash kernels and it looking like it flashed, but didn't actually flash. BUT, your on 2.3.4, so you can't flash a 2.3.3 kernel. You gotta flash a 2.3.4 kernel. And the only losses kernel we have is freeza's kernel.
From what I understand, HTC's unlock method only allows write access to the system partition.

I have an EVO 3D CDMA with BusyBox v1.19.4-wraithdu installed and I was wondering how I can get v6 SuperCharger to work. The instructions in the original post is too confusing and I keep getting "Not permitted" errors. I ran the .sh file in Script Manager as root.
Does your rom support ind.d scripts ???

Yes, it does. It's just Stock 2.17.651.5 deodexed. Unlocked with HTC Unlock Tool. BusyBox v1.19.4. I ran 3G TurboCharger script and it worked perfectly (I tweaked settings, then reset to default), but v6 SuperCharger won't work.
Check your /system/etc and see if there is a "int.d" folder in there. I think if your running a stock rom it might not support it. Are you on a custom stock ??? If so what rom is it ??

When I was having the problem I was on stock deodexed 2.17 running the latest Anthrax kernel. I recall reading that Busybox v1.19.x has issues with v6 SuperCharger, but I also remember there being a fix.
Because of Anthrax kernel causing random reboots, I'm now on the stock kernel that comes with 2.17. I am temporarily on the custom ROM Fresh Evo 3D 4.2.0 (based of 2.17), but I would love going back to the stock ROM when available. I'm picky with ROMs/Kernels because I admire good battery life and hate risking it.
Umm chances are it was kernel incompatibility and not the kernel itself causing reboots. Also as I previously posted stock roms don't support int.d unless a dev modded the rom. Also if your stock based rom is based on the old base then chads kernels have to be selected carefully because all of them will not run on the old base without issues, if you flash his newer kernels on the old base and vice versa.

Hi,
I've been experiencing a flickering screen for a while on my Droid DNA with Viper 1.2. I've tried to re flash my rom and it hasn't helped and i'm pretty sure it's a kernel issue anyway. I initially had the cubed kernel installed and tried to go back to the stock rom using the file available here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2024776
That didn't do the trick so I tried installing the kernel that is listed on the viper page but it only has boot.img file listed and no modules so my Wifi isn't working. It looks like the modules are supposed to be included with the ROM but that isn't working for me for some reason. It seems to not flicker now but my Wifi isn't working.
Any idea where I can get the correct modules from?
Thanks!
You can't use kernels based on the new base l, such as cubed, on roms based on the new base, such as viper 1.2
Just flash a different custom kernel, such as beast mode

beastmode or cpalmer's kernels should work for you. if you want to go back to the stock one with viper 1.2, fastboot the boot.img and reflash the ROM (the modules are included in the ROM package)
Okay so I have been having issues installing a custom kernal. I have rooted the phone through rumrunner and now wan't to install a custom kernal. The problem I have ran into with both the cube kernal and the crpalmer kernal is that once flashed and installed through recovery it goes either into a boot loop or just sits at the htc screen and does nothing. Im wondering if there is maybe something that I am doing wrong or if there is something wrong with the kernals. PLEASE HELP, I would highly appreciate it.
Which ROM are you running and which version of the kernels are you trying to use? Cubed kernel doesn't work on anything except really old 4.1.2 ROMs, crpalmer's current kernel only works on aosp/cm11 based ROMs, and his old sense kernel only works on 4.1.2.

I'm using an HTC EVO 4g LTE, (Pretty old I know) and currently have a non stock kernel installed. I'm using the MeanBean rom kernel, which installs the kernel using a unique method. I want to know is there any way possible to get back to stock kernel with S-ON, and Hboot 2.09? Fastboot maybe?

You can use fastboot commands to flash the kernel. Not sure why you would bother doing that, though. The kernel that MikeyXDA included with MeanBean works fairly well.
