I haven't seen an update.zip OTA file for Gingerbread yet, can someone pull it for me? My USB port is broken, it will only charge, so I can't root or install custom roms I don't have Verizon service either, so I can't download the OTA normally.

BEWARE though. When I applied that file to my phone it just boot looped. I ended up having to ODIN /system to get it working again.
Samsung Fasinate
I'm looking for the update.zip file as well. I also want to flash my device over to Metro PCS. Any suggestions?

Just curious if anyone knows the possibility of rooting stock ka6(wifes vibrant) with my rooted vibrant running custom rom(latest Axura)? I am able to transfer busybox and superuser, neither fully installing.
Download it and place on the internal sd card..... And No, i ve never heard of anyone downloading a rom onto a phone via Bluetooth, but could be possible.
The reason for the??? Is b/c my pc had a meltdown. So odin and heim. are out of the pic.
You could use dropbox as well.

Is there a flashable version of stock eclair via the stock recovery?
If so, you could do that.... then using the phone download the update.zip to root.
THEN you could flash CWR and flash a custom ROM.
All of this could be done from the phone browser... I've never looked to see if a stock eclair was out there you could flash via stock recovery though. Check the DEV BIBLE.

Hi everyone,
I have a problem with my Samsung fascinate, I was rooted with d02 working fine but for some add reason my phone updated to ea28 and now the problem is my phone is stuck after the verizon animation and stays at a black screen, and to make matters worst when I try to do and Odin restore back d01 I cant because my phone/USB drivers is not recognize? I can get into stock recovery, but the update.zip that I have gives me an error saying e:\can not authenticate something or other...
Question is their an updated version of recovery? In an update.zip form? Any input would be appreciated

sounds like a soft brick i would make a jig and reflash back to stock with odin then start over again but get titanium backup after reflash to stock
You need to download the samsung drivers for the computer from your computer. Then your phone will be recognized.
I originally downloaded mine from the fascinate rooting thread on android central's fascinate forum.
Then Odin a .tar of your liking to get your phone working again.

Hey peeps
Ok I've been at this for two straight days now in order to try and unbrick this Telus Fascinate SGH-T959P
My buddy initially attempted to flash it with something and really messed it up to the point that even the battery wouldn't charge.
I don't even care if I get it to stock.. an amazing Rom/Kernel combo will also work.
So this is where I am today... and I have spent the last two days non-stop trying to fix this thing...I have been through sooo many forums posts and websites my brain is about to cook.
Software I am using
Odin v1.7 and v1.83.. I try to use the newest one.. just in case.
ADB / SDK installed and am able to push files across to the sdcard in my phone... everything seems good in that dept
Files that have got me to where I am today
T959TLJL3 Froyo original firmware (apparently)... but can not flash all of the files from the package ..zimage and a few others just fail to flash
s1_odin_20100512.pit file (Have atlas_v2.2.pit also but haven't had as much success with it)
SGH-T959-Stock_plus_voodoo_CwM_2.3.4v2
su-2.3.6.3-efgh-signed
I can successfully boot the phone into download mode every single time using the volume up and down while plugging in the usb cable
Also if i just hit the power button I get a Telus 4G / Samsung splash screen and then the phone boots into CwM Voodoo Recovery v3.0.2.8x (Orange??)
In the CwM recovery mode, I can now finally mount all partitions and it looks like things will flash.
Now that I've finally got this phone to this point, I don't want to mess it up.
I want to make sure I have the right files to complete this little project.
Need some direction from the pros.. Am I able to flash a custom rom now ? And if so, what one is best to use.
From this point how can I revert to stock? Do I have the right files ? And how since Odin fails to flash the ones I have.
I figured going to stock first was easier, then use Kies to update it.
Show me the way
Thanks.

Wow... I got it .. Finally... After I figure out exactly what I used for files.. I will let you know.
All I can tell you right now is that I was flashing a single files at a time then powering down and coming back into download mode to flash the next file.
Right now the phone is all booted up and Running Android v2.3.3 (GB LKG2) and even tho the phone is actually a T959P.. the boot screen shows up as a T959D. Interesting.

No single file that I downloaded was able to flash the phone.
I ended up flashing individual files... and kinda had to mix and match, but was able to get the phone booting back into Android OS
However the phone was missing the EFS folder with IMEI info and such..
Still was not able to recover it 100%.
Message me with your email and I will try to send what I used.

I've been trying to unbrick an T959P as well, have it so i can also boot into CWM (from SGH-T959-Stock_plus_voodoo_CwM_2.3.4v2) but can never get it too boot into the OS. Tried several files to revert it back to stock but so far nothing has worked. Any hints would be appreciated, thanks in advance
To do it, get this file.
https://gofile.io/?c=tJd0Pd
Then get odin v1.85
https://gofile.io/?c=WHkZHO
Launch odin with admin powers (sudo/su for linux, or whatever).
Then click PDA and select the tar.md5 file and start.
Hopefully it soft bricked not hard bricked.

I don't have the phone or any software related to that phone. That post was from 7 years ago.
I had no success with roms (im new to all of this, but i was able to root) and already unrooted.. I just want to clean my phone up for good. I tried installing the 4.3 OTA update and got an error most likely thanks to some safestrap crap still on my phone.
I also tried this..http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2301259 but the zip file for the MI1 build is corrupt or empty or whatever but it wont work...
So I dont care if i lose data at this point, i just want to go back to stock and be able to get the 4.3 OTA update. Please help!
also, I already have odin v3.07 on my computer.
DITTO!!

Im WITH YOU ON THIS.. I need to know everything, step by step. This 4.3 update crap is the DEVIL!!!
The method you are using is an issue or the browser you are using to download is creating an issue.
I downloaded the file in that link and did not have an issue.

If that's not working for you, then you need to retry the download. If it continues to be corrupt, then you need to try a better network.
I've sent people to Panera and Starbucks to fix problems they're having with getting good downloads.
The only other reason for the download from that thread to fail is when you're not on a MI1 build when you start. You can't flash MI1 on anything later.
ok so got the download to work..
started the flash and then it read "FAIL" and my phone was stuck downloading and now its stuck in emergency mode even after pulling the battery. I cant boot to anything else. HELP

You flashed the wrong software for your phone, and must find an image that matches your phone or use the recovery assistant to repair it.
You can't go backwards. I.e. flashing MDK on a ME2 phone.
You can't install custom recovery other than on MDK.
I rooted my MJ7 s4 and everything was fine, until I got bored and wanted to flash a ROM. I stupidly didn't read up about MJ7 not being able to run custom roms and now I can't update to the new OTA update that just came out recently due to the "downloading target" screen. I've read up on ODIN and how to use it, and was told that there is a stock file I can flash using ODIN that will reset my stock recovery and make it able to update using the OTA update. I can't seem to find it and found different people posting different things, so I'm wondering if this file is out there can someone please link me to this, so I can get this update and get my phone back to stock before I screwed up the recovery thank you!
