Hi guys, is there a way to get message icon instead the one i have from another ROM?

replace ur mms.apk with the one you want via root explorer in system/app and reboot
make sure to force close Messages first
Shall i check for compatibility issues or anything would work?

backup ur existing mms.apk to be safe
get the apk from a ics rom not gb
and do what i told earlier
it worked for me when i was on gingerbread but now i am on cm9

Guys, im with this canadian carrier called moblicity. Ive tried all the settings they have given me and my MMS will not go through whatsoever. My data is working, so are regular texts. I can make calls without a problem also. Anyone else out there with similar issues?
are you running stock? if not what are your current settings:

I bought the phones used, it came with team whiskey rom, stock froyo 2.2, not sure what the other questions mean?
Try pushing the mms.apk from the ROM u r running alone. If that doesn't werk try reflashing the ROM again.

ok a little help here, what exactly does that mean? pushing the mms.apk from the ROM?
There is a great app called root explorer that will allow you to take an .apk from the .zip of the ROM u r on and you can paste it in /system/app/ and that replaces the mms.apk assuming u r rooted and can find the appropriate ROM. Honestly I'd just flash something else. Good luck!

Because I applied a metamorph theme and even though I delted the .xml and metamorph itself(and rebooted) it won't go back to normal. ;-;
I am using a desire HD running LeeDroid if u can use that with your one PM me in a few hrs & I will send ya it.... I'm sure if you just reflash your rom it will replace the system ui anyway, I could be wrong there but I am sure that's right?

With Gingerbread i used Samsung log converter to remove sent sms on the phone log. The app is not compatible with ICS is there an alternative?
I previously used checkrom v6 where i downloaded and flashed a zip where i could remove the sms without using the log app previously mentioned. Does anyone know if that would work on Ics?

Probably not. The zip was likely a CWM flashable zip that replaced your LogsProvider.apk with one that was modded to not include SMS/MMS in the call history. That is a system file, and it is highly unlikely that the one for Gingerbread (CheckRom v6 is GB) will work on ICS.

Hello guys,
I've just bought a Razr XT910 and I'm really in love with this cellphone, but my carrier (Claro - Brasil) have customized icons that are really annoying me, especially the Contacts.apk (see 1st screenshot). All I want is the stock Motoblur Contacts.apk (see 2nd screenshot). I've already flashed de Retail ICS Rom and the icons remain there. But the Messages, Camera and Gallery (that I've installed from the Razr M thread) are with the stock Motoblur icons. Can someone please upload the stock app or tell me how can I fix this?

Thanks man, but it seems to be more complicated than I thought. When I try to install over the other apk, the system tells me that is already an app with the same signature and etc., and when I uninstall the old apk, the Phone.apk disappears and I can't install the new Contacts..
Any help?
damn sux...have you tried installing with root explorer? and setting the permissions?

Change the original. Bak (example contacts.apk.bak) change permission rw-r-r- and install. Reboot.

I don't know if you are dead set on getting the stock favorite contacts apk but if you are not, there is one that I have been using for a while. I highly recommend it and it was just recently updated. I can't post the link to it as I don't have 10 posts but PM me and I will be happy to send you the link.

Well... It's best to flash your ROM with the custom systemui from the get go. Otherwise you will run into fc issues when you try to swap them live. You can also try adb pushing the files while in recovery but I haven't tried that. I just always build the ROM for the systemui I want
