I'm using windows xp SP3 with all the drivers installed and I have downloaded the lumia 800's firmware through nokia datapackage manager.
I have followed a guide to debrand or flash a dead lumia by renaming the files and creating the folders 817. When i create the folder rm-817 the NCS product tool didn't detect it for me so i went with the rm-819. I've ranamed the files to my product name and everything went through find apart from the error before it started flashing under recovery mode. Signature verification error.
Has anyone encountered this before with the lumia 800?? If so please guide me to a work around, any help at all will be much appreciated.
I too having the same problem in flashing with Custom ROM please someone help!!
This is because of the locke bootloader. You cannot flash custom ROMs. The bootloader will check the signature of the ROM, and won't flash it if it's a custom ROM.

Hi. How to flash a new rom to niki100 ?
Plugin the USB cable into your device and PC, start the Update.exe and wait until it's finished!
If you stuck in the bootloader, simply flash an original Provider ROM like from T-Mobile or whatever you use! After that, flash HardSPL (read the sticky!!!) and try it again!
To flash a ROM, you don't need ActiveSync running!!!
Do I need to run any other program before I flash a new ROM or can I just basically flash it straight with the default HTC setup running?

If you are just flashing the official ROMs, then just follow the links from your phone company or HTC. Download the ROM and run it on your PC.
If you want to flash custom ROM, then more work is needed:
1) Make sure phone is unlock
2) HardSPL the phone to protect the bootloader from being overwritten
3) Download and flash the custom ROMs.

Hi y'all!
I'm really having trouble flashing an official stable rom on my device. The rom archive is miui_HM3_V7.3.2.0.LHPCNDD_6a5e1bc33c_5.1.zip.
I downloaded it and copied it to a folder (downloaded_rom) on the internal storage of my redmi 3. After selecting it in the updater app I get asked whether it's OK to delete all data, because the rom I'm updating to is older than the one installed. My phone's miui version is MIUI 77. Stable 77.1.1.0 (LHPCNCK). The doble 7s seem odd to me and may be part of my problem (I bought the phone like that). Then, the device is rebooting and I can see some kind of progression bar for a couple of seconds on the botton of the screen but then it just reboots into android and nothing changed
I also tried to flish it via Mi PC suite. Here, after connecting the device in fastboot mode, I got the message that my device isn't supported.
I also believe that the bootloader is locked and I already got the "permission" from xiaomi to unlock it but I had no luck with this either. The Mi unlock tool is telling me, that the "current account is different from the account info on the device" which wasn't the case after I double checked.
Am I missing something here?
kind regards
lunatikk
yes.
because you are currently in modified rom (rom supplier or seller, etc, etc) you cannot update or do anything about it
flash the official rom using miflash method
after that you can update using updater program

I'll try that and report back. Thanks!
Okay, finally I managed to flash my phone with the newest miui.eu rom. What I did was:
- Flashing the official Xiaomi Rom (MiFlash package) via MiFlash (1st try in Win32 wasn't working. 2nd try on Win64 did the job)
- I had to update to the newest official stable OTA, because somehow, I wasn't able to unlock my bootloader with the older version.
- I unlocked the bootloader using the MiFlashUnlocker.
- Updated to the official MIUI 8 dev rom using updater app on my phone
- On dev rom I granted root acces to flashify and flashed the twrp recovery image on my device (which gets wiped from my device every time I reboot - anyone knows why??)
- Reboot into recovery and flash the MIUI.eu zip which is now running on my device.
Thanks for the help guys!
Hi.
I am having the same problem, with pre-installed rom: MIUI 77.1.1.0 Stable. The updater app obviously doesn't work (now i know why) and the MiFlash software doesn't seem to work either. It doesn't recognise the phone, browsing to the downloaded rom does nothing. Am i missing something?
Update, it now recognises the phone, but miflash is saying it can't find the file specified (0x80070002: Execute flash_all.bat)
Thanks for any assistance you can give.
Update 2. Just found out you need a different version of the Rom for fastboot. available from http://en.miui.com/a-234.html for anyone searching.
Okay so Miflash began the process when i had the Fastboot rom, but failed at about 2 percent as the device is locked.
Although i have permission the Mi unlock tool won't unlock my phone as it says the accounts don't match that on the phone, although i have quadruple checked them.
Research suggests it might be a problem with the custom rom on my phone, or that i need to be on the China Dev rom to unlock?
But i can't flash the China Dev Rom!!!
Is there any way to get my device to stock rom?
Sorted.
For the benefit of anyone searching, i followed the instructions here: http://en.miui.com/forum.php?mod=redirect&goto=findpost&ptid=242867&pid=4510751
Hi I need some help please.
I only have accesss to the fastboot mode and the recovery.
The bootloader is unlocked and I already tried every guide I could find on the net how to flash a new stock rom.
I tested many different recoverys but I haven't found one which was able to flash a stock rom to the device.
For example I tried this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/padfone-x/help/guide-restoring-stock-rom-recovery-t3179818
But when I try to flash the 4.4.2 downgrade firmware in the recovery just nothing happens ("zip file signature verification" disabled) or the logs says: "E: Zip signature verification failed: 1; Error flashing zip "x.zip"; Updating partition details..." ("zip file signature verification" enabled)
I hope you guys can help me, thanks
Solution
I found it out myself:
When I tried to flash a rom using cwm it said something like "this is for T00N devices; you have t00n device".
So I tried the modified roms which are able to convert TW to WW from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/padfone-x/general/guide-asus-padfone-s-kk-l-fix-brick-t3197684
and it just worked fine now using cwm 6.0.5.1.
Maybe I could help someone else with this at least
Sorry if this is posted in the wrong place but I could not find anywhere to post it by following Help threads I just went round and round in circles. Hi I am fairly new to phone modding. I updated my moto e XT1524 to LineageOS 16.1 some months ago. Yesterday I decided to update to 17.1. I followed the instruction to install. I have wiped phone and ran fastboot adb as instructed. I keep gettting -This packeage is for XT1514,XT1524,XT1526......... ect and error7. I have ammended the updater-script as detailed in the "How to fix error 7 " document but the rom will still not load. same error message. I have now noticed that * Required * firmware version must be based on Marshmallow on the Installation section on the main forum page. Can someone help me get the phone back to stock rom or any other rom for that matter. I can get the phone into recovery mode and I have TWRP installed i aslo have SDK tools installed on PC.
@rddxda
TWRP can't be used to flash Stock ROMs. In your case you need QFIL ( read: Qualcomm Flash Image Loader ) to flash a Stock ROM, and also the Motorola USB driver installed on PC.

Thanks for your help, could you please help a little further as I cannot find a stock rom. I have been on the motorola site and followed a few links on the internet but only to find the file is no longer available. Any idea where I can get a stock rom from or can I use QFIL to load a non stock rom?
I have found a stock rom XT1524_SURNIA_RETEUALL_5.0.2_LXI22.50-13_cid7_subsidy-DEFAULT_CFC.xml.zip this is not an mbn file, however if I open the zip folder there is a fsg.mbn file in there along with boot, bootloader gpt.bin etc. Is this the file to use with QFIL. Sorry to be a pain but I don't want to make the situation worse.
Also can you tell me if restoring to stock rom will this re-lock the bootloader?
UPDATE: First of all thank-you for all your help - I have learned a lot over the past 6 days (that's how long I have been trying to fix it). I flashed lineage-17.1-20200814-recovery-surnia and then sideloaded adb sideload lineage-17.1surnia.zip. Phone now rebooted in normal mode and showing on PC now OK. So old Moto E XT1524 on Lineage OS 17.1.
