Solved - Cannot Flash Fastboot/Missing apps - Motorola Droid RAZR

I bought a rooted Droid Razr yesterday. I noticed that the contacts were not working and the stock text messaging app was missing.
First, I tried unroot/factory reset. I successfully removed root, but the apps were still missing/broken.
Second, I tried to flash the latest fastboot with RSD Lite (5.6) and VRZ_XT912_6.5.1-73_DHD-11_TA-3_1FF_02.xml and VRZ_XT912_6.5.1-167_DHD-14_M2-5_CFC_1FF_01.xml to no avail. The flash failed each time.
Third, I tried flashing with the Razr Utility - fail, again.
Fourth, I tried the alternative method (I forget the guy's name) and still no luck.
I was able to install Bootstrap Recovery but failed with clockworkmod backup.
I still have the missing/broken apps. Any suggestions?
My details are:
Android: 2.3.6
Baseband: CDMA_N_04.06.00R LTEDC_U_07.1F.00
Webtop: 2.0.0-139
Kernel: 2.6.35.7-g61e3522 [email protected] #2
Build: 6.5.1-167_DHD-14_M2-5
Build Date: Wed dec 28 16:48:13 EST 2011
ERI Version: 5
PRL version: 15109
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
I have experience rooting an OG Droid - but it has been a while.
Edit:
Not exactly sure how I did it, but I manged to fix it. I think it might have been a problem with the ADB Win 7 64 bit drivers

Is it possible to install OLYEM 2.1.1 in ME860?

I currently live in China (I am not Chinese) and I am interested to buy this phone.
The device is not exactly the same from ATT. The version is ME860 instead of MB860. It seems that the difference is regarding the 4G hardware.
I just wonder if the method explain by seven2099 in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1070076 is working also for the Chinese version.
How can we know if it is possible to install GreyBlur and hack (Full ubuntu,HDMI...) on ME860?
Does someone already tried?
I don't want to buy something I am going to be lock with. I don't want MotoBlur, and I wish to get the Full Ubuntu.

Since u become "French" rom OLYEM_U4_2.1.1, so many system u can try now.
b/cos many rom use Advance Recovery "System" in clockworkmod
U just need to find rom based on "OLYEM_U4_2.1.1" to develop,
and Kernel support 2.6.32.9.
100% workable u can use no matter greyblur or others.
When dont want to play other rom, or any problem need moto warrently,
or want to use back HK system by chinese,
Just Advance Recovery "System" in clockworkmod by above pt.3 saved file
P.S. when machine dead in opening moto screen... u forgot wipe, or try many difference system by Advance restore ... or re-boot continuously, but can't wipe in recovery anymore,...
Dont worry :
power device off. hold vol down & power button it will load into fast boot use vol down key to you see android recovery press vol up to enter. Now to will see an andriod with an exclamation point press and the bottom right (its hiddin on top on the search key)
of the screen to bring up options and then vol to wipe data/factory reset and press the ok button to select.
*** hiddin bottom *** try to find it out.

Hi, i just got atrix yesterday and a bit different with ur system info. Mine is
System: Version.4.0.560.ME860.Retail.en05
Model number: ME860
Android: 2.2.2
Baseband: N_01.97.00R
WEBTOP: OSHWT_U1_6.61.22
KERNEL: 2.6.32.9
[email protected] #1
SMP PREEMPT Thu Jun 19 17:51:19 CST 2011
Build number : OLHKT_U4_0.56.0
My question is, if I follow ur step, does i mean my phone swith HK version to France version, and then can i upgrade to office 2.3.4? thanks
Im newbie in Android.

RSD Lite connects/recognizes but does not flash

I have a X2 running the following specs:
system version: 1.3.231.MB870.VERIZON.EN.US
MODEL NUMBER: DROID X2
ANDROID VERSION: 2.3.3
BASEBAND: N_03.13.28SU
KERNEL: 2.6.32.9-00003-GB6084D9
[email protected] #2
BUILD: 4.5.1A-DTN-117-14
ERI: 5
PRL: 52341
I tried gingerbreak to no avail - just kept "rooting" - so i figured I would need to flash the SBF made available today, which I tried to do - But RSDLITE works for about 2-3 minutes then gives me an error stating something about failure to load INI file.
any ideas? why can't I 1. Root with my current ROM and 2. Flash the device to the 2.2?

2.3.3?????
How do you have a Droid X2 running 2.3.3??? As far as I know all DX2's are 2.2.2!! Are you sure you don'd have an orginal DX??!!? Because even your kernel number has the "GB", which I am assuming stands for gingerbread but your model number stating that its a DX2 just make me want to ask you for a system dump
Where did you get that version? The x2 doesn't have 2.3.3 yet.

My two guesses are if this is a legit 2.3.3 from Moto then they patched the gingerbreak hole and that your RSD version isn't the one required for the Droid X2. What version of RSD Lite are you using?
you are going to want to use the rsd lite that I posted a link 4 in the sbf file forum. you also want to make sure you have rebooted your computer and try connecting it in different ways so try connecting before you open rsd lite and also try connecting after rsd lite is open. also try a reboot of the phone. But before you do that we want a copy of your update that you got to 2.3.3 I am sure someone could walk you through getting that uploaded for us.
Sent from my DROID X2 using XDA App
In your /cache folder there should be a file called 1.3.231.MB870.VERIZON.EN.US.zip if not it should be the biggest file in the folder (well over 500MB, possibly closer to 1GB), just copy that to your computer hard drive and upload it to a file share, post a link.
Above poster should have you covered for getting RSDlite working.
Sent from my DROID X2
Just curious if you are holding the volume up key when trying to get rsd to recognize. Reason being is there are rsd options when you hold down key as well but those don't work for sbf

[Q] Need Help on How to Root Again

Ok, so this is my 3rd time rooting my Samsung Galaxy S2, my first ROM was a lighting one, If I can recall, that was rooted roughly 2 years ago, last year, I decided to go back to the STOCK rom and now, I want to install the JellyBam rom BUT apparently, I need CWM which I don't have and if I can recall, when I rooted my phone the first time, I don't think CWM existed back then unless it's that VOLUME-DOWN+POWER button thingy.
Anyway, I have an idea but just don't know how to get CWM, I know there are guides but they're outdated thus unreliable because there are updated ROMS and KERNELS. Now, on Jellybam's official site, it says I need CWM, I've downloaded an APP on the android "Rom Manager" but it says my phone needs to be rooted, I got ODIN but I just don't know what the heck do I use to root my phone with, I also downloaded the CM10.1 kernel because apparently, it has a better life efficiency. I've done far to many search and now, the information I came across is everywhere and I can't seem to piece it together.
P.S > I was reading this guide aswell http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1134290 but just don't get this "CWM-Kernel" and how to get it. Do I need to flash my phone again? How do I check?
PHONE INFORMATION
Model Number : GT-I9100
Android Version : 4.0.4
Baseband Version : I9100XXLQ6

[email protected] #3
SMP PREEMPT Wed Aug 22 22:55:24 KST
2012
Build number : IMM76D.XWLPW
P.S.S > This CM10.1 kernel I downloaded comes with CWM but the question is, how the heck do I install it? There's 2 folders and a Boot image, the folders are "META-INF' and "system", I suppose these files goes on your phone/sd card and from CWM, you install it from there but how can I install it if I don't have CWM?

Just follow this guide to root ur phone again
Given the many threads (and different methods) for rooting a phone available here, why on earth would you link to a method on another site ?
I trust you're going to be around to hold the OP's hand when the inevitable questions come up if he/she has problems ?

I did a lot of research before coming here. So I rooted my phone a few days ago. Everything went well, but my RADIO was basically non existant. WiFi, cellular data, and GPS didn't work. I then bricked my phone, which caused me to have to use KIES to unbrick. My problem now is when I try to root again, ODIN fails EVERYTIME. I've tried at least 3 different ones. Root checker says I am not rooted, but all I did after root was use KIES to unbrick. Someone please help!
Hope this helps

If you used Kies or Odin to unbrick your S4 you're going to have to re - root it again after. You should look into Saferoot, its really easy to use

how are you trying to root?? Are you using saferoot method?
Saferoot
I'm still pretty new to this. I was a physical tech for a year and a triage tech for longer. I've worked for every phone carrier and I am on my way to being a Field Sales Manager for Samsung at the end of the month.
I know saferoot was one of the rars on my tesktop. I also tried some kernals from forums for my specific model. When I am home, I will try saferoot again, just for argument sake, but I am pretty sure I've tried it.
If this is the one that connects while the phone is on, then roots via cmd prompt, that fails as well. EVERYTIME! It's nerving.

OK . if you're on MK2 using Saferoot will definitely work. If you run into any issues just go to that thread and you'll get some help for sure.
Also you tried different kernels? As of right now your phone is only able to run the stock kernel. Maybe you were referring to the root method for MDK build?!

SAFEROOT!
Seems like it is the way to go, but when I ran it, it said, "error: more than one device and emulator," 17 times before saying, "done," and not doing anything.
Any idea why?
I will be doing my own research in the mean time, but I think I looked before to find something on this and was unsuccessful.
DONE!
I've done it from my mothers computer and everything worked fine. Thank you so much!

"More than one device and emulator" means that your PC thinks you have more than one phone (or other Android device) plugged in at the same time. You've fixed this, but for the record, you should unplug everything, use "adb kill-server" to kill the running ADB server, then it should work as long as you only connect one device at a time.

I've spent a good week trying to flash to twrp and a custom rom (AOKP/Viper) , I've read many pages with how-to's and am simply overwhelmed/given up with what to do. I'm running Heimdall on ubuntu.
I'm currently running:
Model: GT-I9100P
Android: 4.1.2
Baseband: I9100PXXLS8
Kernel: 3.0.31-1246097
Build: JZ054K.I9100PXXLSS
I have tried to install Philz touch recovery 6.48.4. It came up with a status error 7 as my device model was ' ', so I removed the necessary lines, then it errored with a signature verification. I've watched a good few youtube videos and they didn't work, I don't know what I am doing wrong.. I can flash stock rom's fine though.
Can someone hold my hand and guide me what to do? It will be appreciated!
