How can I play a 3d video in mx player pro - HTC EVO 3D

How can I play a 3d video in mx player pro Or any application that can play video with translation

You don't.

You can, but not every 3D video will work with it. The trick is choosing HW and not SW decoder.
I worked for me with a few 3D video's but not the ones I converted myself in Handbrake.

I've tried out handbrake before but I could never get it working. Freemake is a really good free video converter, and it has a bunch of settings, including the ability to save presets (and there's specific options for android, iphone, youtube, etc...)
but back on topic, why would you need to play 3D videos with an aftermarket video player anyway? I've never had a problem with the stock video player, and I've watched Tron, Avatar, and Inception all in 3D (DVD rips from discs I own ) Edit: I get it now, I didn't see you said for translation purposes before. Sorry, I haven't even tried watching 3D video in another video player.
Unrelated note, Inception 3D was the biggest waste of time. Don't bother getting it in 3D if you want to watch it, it's a pointless feature for that movie.

Because an aftermarket player is better. It got features the stock player doesn't have, like it will remember where you left when you stop watching.

Got to agree with that, Inception in 3d wasn't all that, you find yourself scanning the screen looking for the best 3d bit instead of just being wowed by the movie, which isn't half bad.
Avatar, The Smurfs (believe it or not), The final destination (good effect's poor movie), are all decent for 3D, but not too many others, an i'm going from a 47inch LED 3DTV not my phone.

3D Content Sources

Well, I plan to watch a lot of 3D stuff while I'm on the train and youtube isn't available. I'd like to have a compiled list of how to properly convert videos to 3D in order to be watched on the Evo, (like blu-ray rips etc.) as well as any other 3D sources that pop up such as games or apps.
If anybody has any ideas or insight, post away!

HD MKV Scene rips play fine in the gallery, actually they are quite fantastic looking, but there is a problem with the sound. I've downloaded several other players and any of them that do play with the sound start to suffer from video lag. If anybody knows how an efficient way to re-encode the audio portion only, which should be substantially quicker than re-encoding a whole video, please share!
I downloaded the Wondershare trial program as somebody had mentioned on another forum. It is EXTREMELY simple to use. You load your video, click the device icon, select Convert to 3D, and it is the second mp4 option (side by side images). Since it was the trial version I could only convert 3 minutes of video, but I tried with HD rips of Modern Family, Family Guy, and Arrested Development. The files took about 3 min to encode and were about 175 mb for 3 min of video (from a ~600mb source mkv). I transferred them to the root dir and opened them in the gallery. You will see side by side images, but if you hit menu there is an option to play in 3D.
For the most part, it was hit or miss depending on the scene. I think the software is not just junk, but actually does what it says. The main problem comes into play where most standard television/films aren't filmed with 3D in mind, and thus do not have optimal viewing angles for depth with rear objects. Also, cameras tend to switch scenes/angles quickly so by the time you realize something is in 3D the camera has switched.. during a dialogue where the camera switches the focus between several actors in a conversation, for example. There were some scenes that really had the 3D effect as if it was completely designed that way.
I'm going to play around with it some more and see if I can come up with anything interesting. Also, encoding to 3D kept the same high quality video (god, this screen is f**king amazing) and fixed the audio problems, and I didn't touch any settings. Open, find file, convert to 3D, no settings or anything besides output folder.
Side note: HTC Sense 3.0 rocks!!! They really got it right this time! I love it so far. I changed my background to a live one which is affected by the weather. There were thunderstorms last night and when I would try to unlock the screen you'd be surfing through the clouds with a lightning affect. I thought it was pretty sweet. The whole UI seems silky smooth.

3D on Moboplayer

Can you view 3D movies in Moboplayer? When I hit the hard menu button, it just locks or unlocks the screen. Is there any way to toggle between 2D and 3D besides on the stock video player?
Nobody uses Moboplayer?
i use it and so far from every option that i've seen you can't as of now. maybe in a later update. oh and menu only locks the screen when a vid is playing
Interesting. Someone in another thread said they were able to view 3D movies but I couldn't find that option anywhere. I really like Moboplayer but that's kind of a deal breaker for me.

I love it too...
But really, for 3d, the stock player works just fine.
You're going to want to convert the videos anyway (most 3d stuff is HUGE without the conversion) and looks great in the stock player.
Mobo works well for your non-3d stuff on the 3vo.

Yea, I've been converting them using Handbrake and most of my full length movies on my 3vo average around 1-1.4 GB.
The stock player is fine but I absolutely love the gestures controls on Moboplayer.
yea the gestures are great. it is easier to fast forward or rewind instead of skipping all over using the little bar crap lol.
So I used mono the other day and happened to click a 3d video and it played in 3d. I haven't checked any actual movies it was just a video I had recorded. Just like to say that incase anyone still cares.

So I know this thread is ancient but how did you get Moboplayer to play a 3D video in 3D?
Nearly all players play 3D, but only if you filmed them with the phone. 3DBD SBS movies work only on 3DVPlayer.

By 3DVPlayer, do you mean the stock video player?

Wasn't the reason other players didn't play 3d video because the meta data that indicates its a 3d video is missing? That would make sense to me because the 3d movies I have don't haven't they 3d label in Gallery and need to be told to play in 3d. Whereas the videos recorded by the phone have the label and are automatically in 3d. I bet adding the proper meta data will resolve that. Haven't tried playing with anything yet but I think I saw someone else suggest the meta data idea before too.

moboplayer does play in 3D for me. on ICS at least.
but: you have to play it in 3D in the default player first. then press Home to go back out. Play any video with any other player and it will still be in 3D. Even your camera when set to 2D will be in "3D". This is more of a bug than a solution though. But you'll be able to play 3D videos on any player.
If you want to restore functionality back to your 2D camera (because it still thinks it is in 3D mode) set the default video player to play any video in 2D again and it will be fine.

Ah...that's why my camera was acting wonky after watching a movie in 3D. Is this bug present in Sprint's stock ICS or just in custom ICS roms?

[Q] 3D movie transcoding

I have searched and read guides for handbrake and freemake regarding transcoding for the EVO 3D movies to play on the EVO 3d. My problem is I have tried using a couple different sbs movie files. I will get an end product of movie with video that works with no sound or I have sound with a flashing screen. Any help would be awesome. BTW I followed the guides as to all codec resolution audio etc
Where are the guides located? I've been trying to play 3D movies on it myself
+1 on interest of topic. Would love to have more 3d movies on it.

thnx
Yeah, I know it's possible cause my movies are in stereoscopic format, made for "side by side" non-glasses viewing, but it's frustrating I can't find anywhere online how to view them on my 3VO. So I decided it was finally time to join XDA forums
I know one of y'all can help!
It's remarkably confounding: no preloaded app/player for media! (Watch doesn't count as you can only buy/rent and play from their store.) If I could just open the video player and load the 3D movie file, I'm sure it would work... I'm referring to the built-in video player that only opens [for me] when viewing a 3D video that I've recorded, opened from the Gallery... ;-/
@keen77
I used this guide to get 3D movies transcoded to my EVO 3D:
www [dot] goodandevo [dot] net/2011/06/how-to-make-your-existing-3d-videos-play-nice-with-the-htc-evo-3d.html (sorry as a XDA newb I’m not allowed to post links).
[By the way, this is a great website to stay informed on developments concerning your EVO 3D!]
I only don't recommend using Handbrake (on which the article is based) but rather Freemake Video Converter (see way down the same article). Freemake is WAY superior, both in transcoding performance (quality & speed), ease of use and user interface (which could arguably be called "beautiful"). Use the same settings as the article suggests for Handbrake (including changing the resolution to 960x540) and you should be good to go! I only used this on HD videos 1920x1080 with half side-by-side, but it works perfectly on them.
I only have a problem with the fact that some videos at my disposal have the left and right images swapped the wrong way (which off course has nothing to do with the to mentioned video convertors). Watching this is a very confusing experience!
Does someone know how you can easily swap the left and right images in (half) SBS video's? I tried StereoMovie Maker (stereo [dot] jpn [dot] org/eng/stvmkr/index.html), but it stops saving the "swapped file" halfway through the saving process... and besides that the proces involves 3 transcodings (original->avi [Freemake], avi->swapped-avi [StereoMovie Maker], avi->mp4 [Freemake]) which doesn't do the quality any good and is lengthy.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!
Flipping the phone over corrects the 3D in those cases.
What do you mean "corrects the 3D," and in what cases? Sorry don't follow
Go into the Themes & Apps section for the Evo 3D and loom at the posts stickied. One talks about 3D movies.
Sent from my HTC Hero making C.R.E.A.M.
I did one up in handbrake today. It was a 1080p side by side. I just dropped the frame down to qhd and then ran it with my normal 3vo settings. It dropped the file size down from 4.7 giggers to just over half a gig.
I have a video folder on my root that I move them info that shows up in the stock gallery app. When playing you need to hit menu and choose view in 3d.
It's a crap movie, but it was the only of the type I could find lol

[Q] 3D video formats

Okay before anyone starts flaming me, I did search, but since the phone is called 3d I was getting a ton of posts that had nothing to do with video formats. I know I have seen some good info but I can't find it now.
I am curious about formats. I have done some reading and am using handbrake to convert videos (they are converting as I type), but I think they are going to play side by side. Know I have figured out that if I use the HTC video player, I can tell it to play in 3D mode, but I like Meridian and am starting to like MX. They both play 3D as I have a few videos that it does play in 3D. Question is how do I get SBS videos to play in 3D on these other players.
A primer in 3d formats would be great.

Floating Video Player (like the GS3)

For those of you who saw the perks in the GS3 and the floating video capabilities that were demonstrated and wished your Evo could do the same, look no further!!
There are a couple apps that have been released on the Play Store to do it: one paid, one free.
StickIt!

SuperVideo
https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct...-9jxCQ&usg=AFQjCNHZz8XJrVDxzqD7Uf4XcbddyfeBgg
Since the Evo didnt come with a dedicated video player (and since its free with no ads) i've been using supervideo. i saw no issues having a video from youtube playing while i opened and closed several apps. pretty slick! check it out, its a novelty
I just tried our the SuperVideo player and it works great on the LTEvo!!! Tested both an AVI file and MKV file format
mp4
Does it play mp4 files well? I've used rockplayer for a long time, but it seems to get a lil funky with mp4 files. It plays mkv and avi well.
Super video is dope

So far testing the RockPlayer with the same movie as SuperVideo shows that supervideo can't process very well. It's studders and looks choppy. Rockplayer even played perfectly on my OG evo with one core. It's probably more efficient. This was a 1.75GB avi file.

How big was the file and what format was it? I don't like that Rockplayer with ics has the menu button on the screen all the time now. In fact, I think ICS makes all the programs do that since the phone doesn't have the menu button anymore=(.
