I rooted, installed STeVEs kernal and flashed Klin's Klassic R4.1. I was curious so I was curious about what was taking up my battery life, and i noticed that the cell standby jumped to 81%! Could it be because i overclocked my kernal to 1000 mHz?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
I think it's the mobile data, radios and other background processes running when the screen is off. If you click on it it leads you to a window where you can turn on fly mode.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=904484 this might be more clarifying.

Hey fellas and gals, I'm a new member here. Been lurking for awhile. I would post this question in Adrynalyne's kernel thread but I don't have the permissions.
So i flashed Adrynalyne's 2.6.32.21 version 1.9 and I'm running his Das BAMF rom with it. Everyone is talking about the battery improvements, but mine is just wasting away. It went from 100% to 66% in probably 1.5 hours, I had accidentally left 4G on for that hour, but I didn't think it should waste away that fast. This problem is due to my oversight, but I just don't know what it is. I would really appreciate suggestions.
Running 2.6.32.21 (1.9) with Das BAMF
SetCPU is on OnDemand governor, people were talking about Smartass Governor but that it wasn't tweaked yet. I'm not familiar with it yet.
The simple tweaked stock kernel that Adrynalyne supplied with Das BAMF gave me great battery life.
I would love some help from you people much smarter than me.
Please don't "Search button" me, I tried but I just don't know what to look for.
Setting a profile on SetCPU will help too especially when the screen is off. I set mine to 245/368 whenever its off.
Aedillor, are you running that Kernel from Adrynalyne as well? If so, how is it working for you?
yes I am. hard to tell though cause I'm using an extended battery and havent really messed around with it. I've always set my profiles to lower speed when the screen is of and ondemenad 768/1.5Ghz when on.
Just my 2 cents. Im running the kernal and have set cpu set as follows:
Govenor = Smartass (ondemand wasn't doing well for me)
245min/1024max
Screen off 245min/368max
My battery seems pretty good at this setup
My battery is still dropping like a rock. Does it have something to do with that "Battery.bin" (I don't remember) in Recovery? Maybe the readings are off? It has dropped 5% in 5 minutes, while the screen is off. SetCPU is on 245/368 for screen off. This has happened for 1.6 and 1.9 so far. I must be missing something
I'm running infected ROM with adryns 1.9 kernal and I'm in heaven. Battery is doing great and everything is snappy fast and smooth. Consistent quad scores in the 1900's. LOVE IT!

You have combined Virus and the 1.9 Kernel.. doing that good?
Have you reset battery stats?
Hello I live in Chicago, IL. I ran multiple roms with different kernels and modem.
I have used:
Bionix Next Gen/ KB1-KB5-KA5/ Tigers Blood- Bali
Galaxy Extreme/ KB5/ Bali
The problem is battery. I know with location the modem and kernel matters. If you guys can tell what is the best combication in my location, that would be great.
Thanks
Hey man im just south of you. Im doing pretty good with kb5 modem. I am on edt's sgsII. With the 1.48 ghz test kernel clocked at 1 ghz. Ive also done some cpu scheduling manipulation through the advanced tab on setcpu. The best way to improve battery is to use juice defender or superpower to disable your phones radios when the screen is off. But that only improves battery while the screen is off. By changing the cpu scheduling ive been able to improve screen on battery efficiency. But I am not done finding a kernel that works the way I want it. And I have no idea how to forge one myself.

Rom/Kernel is your choice...but check my sig...
For modem, I got 5mbps a couple of times with KB5
Thanks because I have my phone on standby and the battery goes from 100% to 97% and also I use lot of youtube and 15 minutes of video drains down to 85%.
From the city of chi. I use trigger 3.2 with bullet clock at 1.42 . I also use juicedefender . So far 10 hours past , i still have 60 % to play with . This is with moderate use . Hit me up if u want some tips in the settings

thanks and what kernel and modem do you use?
To be honest with you the "BEST" kernel/modem would be the stock. Any developer will tell you that a modded/custom kernel will drain your battery faster than the stock. You're better off bringing a portable charger with you if you're on your phone a lot all day and you're worried about battery life.
And believe me, I've flashed every rom out there. I was even flashing Eugene's Behold II roms when I had one.
Howdy,
So my fascinate is running great with commrom 1.3 and the stock OTB 1.4 kernal, it idles great, my only issue is when I'm actually using data, my battery gets murdered. And I know data use is hard on a phone, but its like 5% every 10 or so minutes and that can't be right. The phone is totally fine if I'm watching videos or listening to music, but browsing these forums or reddit and I'm toast. I'm on the ED01 radio and not roaming. Ideas?
Adjust your uv settings or even try a different kernel. The comavolt kernel is stable & so is the -50 or -100 pbjtime from imnuts. Both have pretty good records for battery life.

Don't forget to wipe the battery stats after a good overnight charge...that may help you too

Hi, just wondering if anyone has the same issue as mine. I have an international Atrix of d00. I used to use the stock ORFR 4.5.2A based rom, and the battery life was quite good. When Faux123 released the OC kernel 0.1.9, which cannot work with the stock rom at least on my phone, I first flashed the Starwar Rom, which reduced the battery life to less than 5 hours, and phone is constantly hot. I already set the CPU at max of 1.1 Ghz when in use, and at max of 216 Mhz when screen is off, the problem is that my phone is still hot after the screen is off for several hours. So I switched to Alien Rom, it's just slightly better. So I again switched to Arua's debloated Rom, it's much better, but I finally noticed that my phone is always hot with 3G standby, when I let it stand by with Wifi on, the phone is much cooler, only around 30C degree. I'm wondering if it's caused by the incompatibility of international phone's with AT&T's radio (currently using 01.77.30P from Aura Rom). Can someone suggest a better radio, or maybe a 4.5.2A based Rom that could work with Faux's OC kernel? Thanks a lot.

Do you really need the Faux123's radio with his OC Kernel? If not, I would suggest to flash back the stock radio. I have noticed the same thing, and I have done the same thing, I never needed that much RAW power on top of what is already on board. When my phone was way too hot for me to handle, i had to constantly keep my 3G off and underclock it to less than 1GHz to keep it cool.
I flashed the original radio from Faux123's forum, I haven't yet tested it much but now it appears to be far more better. I am going to test it a little more and see what's the outcome. But I am getting closer to the conclusion that it was all because of the At&T radio flashed on a non-At&T phone.
Cheers!!!

My ROM is AURA Build # 8, Bloated Version.
Kernel - Faux123, in past I used the 1.1 GHz OC version, then tried 1.3 from this link, http://rootzwiki.com/showthread.php...Unified-v0.1.9)OC-1.3GHz-SLQB-BFQ-EXT4-Aug-27, and then I flashed the Stock and went back to 1.1.
Hope this answers your question.
Cheers!!!
Maybe I don't say this enough, maybe I say it too much. But are u wiping the previous kernel before you try and flash another? Are u wiping the previous radio out and then flashing or just flashing right over top of what u already had installed?

Before installing a new rom, I do "wipe date/factory reset", "wipe dalvik cache" and "wipe cache partition". Before flashing a new kernel or radio, I only do " wipe dalvik cache" and "wipe cache partition". Is that what you are talking about? Anything else I missed?
hi, all
yesterday i updated my Atrix 4g to 2.3.6 rom NottachTrix. coming from the Darkside, i have found that the battery drains really fast. 20% in an hour or so with very light use. i did not have any problems with the Darkside. being a new user i can not post in to the development thread but someone else is having similar problems there. could anyone point me in the right direction?
cheers
I had the same problem with an ICS ROM. Try disabling sync when you don't use you phone, this sucks your battery as hell.
i have the same problem with ics rom y changes kernel 3 times but is the same, any one now how to fix..
so far i have tried everything used fauxs 1 ghz non-overclocked kernel, tring set sync off etc but no result. i am trying to flash new radio now...
Download CPU spy to see if you are getting deep sleep and see what the CPU is doing. Report back your findings.
Also check what's using the battery the most.

Try doing a complete wipe and flashing the ROM again.
I remember I had this issue with Neutrinos ROM and doing the above method fixed everything.
you can try to wipe battery stats in recovery
I've just instalalled neutrino on my device twice. I forgot to wipe the user data and was having similar issues. Now its back to normal for me.
I'm running the latest Nottachtrix and my battery life is awful too. I've flashed this a few different times with the same result, wiping the cache, dalvik cache, and, and user data, and I've tried many different kernels, all with the same result. I have not tried wiping battery stats yet, but I'll give it a shot. I think it might be a problem with the stock Atrix 2.3.6 rom in general and not what Nottach has done. I know other people have reported this in the Nottachtrix forum too.

which radio are you using?
i also got awful battery life on nottachtrix but i did change the radio to N_01.77.30P, due to some latin american users reports (i'm from chile) that this was the best radio for battery life and indeed i did notice a lot of difference. with 3 google accounts syncronized, wifi sleep policy to never off, whatsapp, viber and almost 90 apps, i get a day and a half of juice from heavy ussage and easily get 3-4 days of moderate use.
so, my recomendation is that you test some radios, it does make a difference. i'm currently on nottachtrix 1.3.1 with faux kernel to 1ghz.
