Hi everybody
I have been reading this forum many times but no luck in finding the solution.
I have bought my self a POV Protab2XXl last week with Android 4.0
But since the market was updated to Google play i only have problems.
There are many apps i suddenly can not find anymore ( like facebook ) or some apps i try to install i get the message "your device isn't compatible with this item"
I have tried many things based on the forum. I have changed the density, but that one is set to 160 which is ok and other density does not help either.
Did clear cache and everything else you can do to remove old data, but without luck.
Yesterday i reflashed it to android 2.3 and updated to new market. all problem is gone.. What changed in 4.0 and the new google play that the market behaves like this ??
Anybody else having these issues?
I am having lots of problems with Google Play this morning. On the Web side I can not see my rooted Kindle Fire. On the KF side I cannot install any apps.
I just got off the phone with Google Tech support. His suggestion was to roll back to Market since people are having problems with rooted devices and Play.
Is anyone else experiencing problems with a rooted KF and the Google Play app store? Any suggestions?
EDIT: I unselected my KF under devices on the Play web site and then I was able to install an app from the KF. WTF?
My Google Play Store stopped working yesterday after the newest Asus Transformer Prime update. It worked before, now I'm getting lots of server errors & connection timeouts.
Same here, almost seems as if someone DoS the servers...
I do not think this is directly relevant to an update, more like an infrastructure problem at Google's servers

I'm also having FCs all the time when I start downloading an app since yesterday (ver. 3.5.15). If I clear data and cache in app preferences, I can start the play store again - but still not download possible. The app crashes also when I try to install an app from the web interface.
SOLVED for me:
- I moved com.android.vending.apk from data/app to system/app,
- booted into recovery,
- cleared cache and dalvik cache,
- booted and everything works now.
Problem with Google play

the android version is 2.3.6 i dont know what this guy's updated now i am not able facebook or any other apps.
If you get any answer regarding it please mail me - [email protected]

Got my gtab a few weeks ago and it's been working great. installed TNT Lite 4.4 on it and love it. Got the market working after some initial trouble, but it was working (i could find Launcher Pro, Dolphin HD, etc)
Tonight, i launched the market and it prompted me to accept the license agreement again which was odd as it hadn't done that since I first launched it after the new FW load. When i go in now, I can't find any of the previous apps i had searched for to verify that the market fix worked. I've done the fix again 5 different times (either via the clear cache and force stop via settings or using Titanium backup to wipe data for Google Frameworks)
Anyone have any suggestions?
The same happened to me, but I did the fix again and it worked. Be sure you're doing all the steps w/ Market and Google Framework, etc.
This tends to happen when a newer version of the Market is pushed down to your phone. You'll just have to repeat the Market fix steps, sometimes multiple times until it's working again.
Did your Android Market just update itself and break the My Apps function? I just noticed my Market app on my phone just made me accept the agreement again. As I remember it does this when the market app is updated. After clicking agree, the market app loaded, I click "My Apps" and just get a blank screen. Tried killing the app, then trying again, no luck. Rebooted phone, no luck. Anyone else??
for my the same thing. same problem!
Try wiping cache?

works for me, i however lost quite some apps (they are no longer linked to the market).
fixing the market links via titanium 4.3.1 made them available as updates, but after the 'update' they were gone again.
downgrading to the old 2.x market didn't help either, oh boy
what can i do now?
I have the same problem, and I haven´t find any solution so far.
If you see, the lost apps aren´t in present in the market web version.
they came back eventually. tried to restore the market links via titanium a dozen times before that.
out of the blue they where there again.
now i flashed the new cm nightly and i got the same prob again
guess i gotta be patient.
Maybe because of a Restart?
Worked fine for me and I did notice the market change on my DroidX.
What version is your market guys? Mine is 3.1.5 and I dont have such a problem

Flipped to xda by my mad device.
3.1.5 too. flashed the newesst gapps, they include the 3.1.3 market, but it auto updates real fast :0
Same here, but here's something new to add
I hadn't changed anything on my 2.1.3 rooted Droid X2 when this problem popped up two days ago.
Before coming here, cleared cache, deleted data, fixed permissions, rebooted, and rebooted (and cussed profusely at great volume).
And I tried a couple of the suggestions here, but to no avail.
I uninstalled the updates and the market dropped back to 3.1.3. Then saw the error "A server error has occurred. Retry, or cancel and return to the previous screen.
My guess is that my account is hosed up in the Google Market cloud and the latest version of Market doesn't provide error feedback.
So still sitting with a blank My Apps screen. And of course, Google Android Support has Jack Sheisse to say about it to anyone.
I have exactly the same problem; 'my apps' just brings up the server error. Tried everything, but to no avail. I can still download new apps though!
My logcat shows this:
""[24] BaseAction.run(): ApiException: com.android.vending.api.ApiException: Error from backend. Request=com.android.vending.model.AssetRequest, Response=INTERNAL_SERVICE_ERROR
I/vending (16292): [1] BaseAction.displayErrorUi(): Server error in com.android.vending.MyDownloadsActivity$MyDownload sLoader: com.android.vending.api.ApiException: Error from backend. Request=com.android.vending.model.AssetRequest, Response=INTERNAL_SERVICE_ERROR""
For me, the answer to my original problem was that I have more than one Google account configured on my phone.
For some odd reason, having multiple accounts on my phone causes the market to get confused constantly as to which account it should default to. Since one account is only on my phone for gmail purposes, there are no market apps attached to it. When the market defaults to the Gmail only account, none of my apps show up. When I manually go into the Market settings on my phone and change the account it's using to the correct account, all my apps come back.
As of now, I have not found any way to tell the Market which Google account should be the default account. So, still living with this. I just check which account it's using before doing anything in the Market App. Huge pain in the Arse..
I have the same problem with new Market. When I click My Apps this is what I get: Applications and games owned by this account will appear here.
If you also have problems please report it to Google here so they can fix it.
FIXED!
Ignore.
(thought it was fixed, but it's not...)
My apps blank
I also got the problem with blank my apps and now i fixed it for me, maybe its the same for some others. The problem was one app (can be more), in my case teeter (htc sense game). So i backuped all my apps with Titanium Backup, then uninstall all with TB. Set delete market link when uninstall app in TB settings. Clear Market cache/data. Open Market go to my apps, go back and again to my apps. Now it works for me again. So i restored 10 apps, cleared cache/data from Market and looked into my apps. I did this restor in 10 apps steps and cleared Market data till i found the app that broke the market.
My Apps Brings Up Server Error Message
It doesn't seem to have to do with anything under our control, and google is typically silent about it. I think the only thing to do is wait and meanwhile I am using appbrain which is better than market anyway. If anybody does find a solution, and I am wrong about all this, please post it. This is really annoying and frustrating.
I'm too having same issue
I also get the same " applications and games owned by this account will appear here" after the update when I go to my Apps. I have two gmail accounts, and the problem is in my main account.. my secondery account have 2 apps installed, and have no problem displaying them...
I've tried all of the above solutions like clearing cache, data...
Strangely I have another phone with the same accounts setup and it works fine...
Same is issue here - Droid Bionic
"Applications and games owned by this account will appear here"
Same is issue
Hey everyone,
I hope this is in the right section. But just recently i noticed my phone acting weird. Seems when i open google play store and do a search, Most recently i did "Weather Widgets"
It will return with like 6000 app results. Normally when you click the apps bar it takes you to the app results, When you scroll down and you reach the end of the list it will auto load the next group of apps.
Well now when that happens it no longer loads anymore results and it stays stuck on the first 10~15.BUT this is the weird part.. IT ONLY DOES IT FOR APPS and GAMES.
Music and Books the list loads as usual.
So far i have wiped the cache / data and just tried uninstalling the recent update and took it back to version 3.7.15 but google play auto updates itself back to 3.8
This really sucks. Anyone know how to stop google play from auto updating? soon as i wipe it back to 3.7 it auto updates back to 3.8
Nevermind - Resolved.
I guess somewhere along the line when gapps updates to 3.8... it no longer likes the device ID. I checked it and its DROIX but 3/4 of the apps on the market dont show.
So i downloaded Device spoofer and setup gapps as a Nex S. works like a charm
Hello wise members of XDA,
This problem has been a tumulus week of trial and error to no avail.
About a week ago (approx. the time when the new web Google Play redesign went live), I've started having problems with my Play Store.
I wanted to open my play store, but it immediately crashed.
I'm on an international Samsung GT-I9100 (GalaxyS2), and this problem is not phone specific, because it occurs on a friend HTC Desire, and a Galaxy Note, and also a pair of Galaxy S Duos.
1. My phone was initially rooted, and I also had Market Enabler Installed. I thought that may be the problem, so I reverted the Market Enabler changes, but still crashed.
2. I went into applications and cleared the cache and data for the Play Store app, it again crashed.
3. Cleared cache and data for play store app, google framework services app, and everything with google in its name or connected to google, and it crashed again.
4. Did the same thing as no. 3, and then restarted the phone, and it crashed again.
5. Did a factory reset, and it crashed.
6. Reinstalled my Galaxy S2 Stock OS, but instead of just crashing, now the phone freezes and reboot is required.
7. Wiped everything on the usb storage and the other storage, and installed Stock OS, and it crashed again.
8. Rooted that brand new os install, and it crashed again.
9. Installed the new Play Store App (4.2.3) and it crashed again.
10. Downgraded Play Store app, and nothing, crashed again.
11. Is there anything left to try?
The problem is, when entering the play store it crashes. If somehow I open the play store so that the landing page of the play store is avoided, it works (e.g. If I google search for an app, and open the play.google.com link on my phone, and when it prompts me to open it via Play Store, then it is opened via play store). Then I can go into 'My Apps', but the 'installed' tab shows nothing, whereas the 'all' tab, shows the history of my installed and unistalled apps.
This problem is with 2 of my GalaxyS2, 2 Galaxy S Duos, Galaxy Note (N7000), and my friend's HTC Desire (running 4.2).
For any ideas, please chime in, I'm willing to try anything.
Currently I'm on stock 4.1.2 and rooted with Philz kernel.
Totally same for me i tried all above too but i think this problem will be common wide for all.
Pls a solution

Just found out another guy with a ZTE has this problem as well. I'm starting to think that this may be a regional problem.
Bump!
Anyone else experiencing this, or is it just one specific country?
Crash problem Solved
Ok, after going through the browser and updating the Google+ app, that initiated the Google Play Services update, which in turn fixed the Google Play Store crash problem.
Now the problem is the same as everyone else that is not living in the US. Getting geographical restricted apps.
For our country, there are NO apps at all.
Market Enabler, Market Unlocker Pro, and HotspotShield do not work. Anyone else have any ideas?
I've just looked at my apps list in the play store and there is loads of my installed apps missing they are installed on my phone but not showing up in the list. Could someone please tell me where they have gone and how to get them back.

This has happened to me as well. I think I started after Google Play was updated to version 4.3.11.
I have like 120 apps installed. The "Installed" tab under "My apps" now says I've got 9: Barcode Scanner, GTasks Key, K-9 Mail, Official XBMC Remote, Pure Calendar, Pure Grid Calendar, Soundhound, Superuser and USSD/MMI Fix. If I flip to the "All" tab, all my apps are still there. From there I can view information about the apps, but those that are not among those 9 will say that they're not compatible with my device.
My device is a rooted HTC Desire Z (called G2/Vision in North America), with some "EliteMod" 4.0.4 ROM - which have been working perfectly for well over a year. I was thinking it was some kind of Apple-style scam by Google to force users of old, rooted devices to upgrade.. xD
When trying (and failing) to figure out how to tell a living person at Google that 90 % of my installed apps and probably 99 % of the apps in Play Store are missing, I discovered the following added comment here:
"We’ve heard of some users suddenly missing apps under the My Apps section of the Google Play Store app. This is a known issue that we are currently investigating, and updates can be found on our Known Issues page."
I found no updates on it on the "Known issues" page, though.
I have the same problem
Hey guys,
I have the same problem after updating Play Store to 4.3.11. My installed apps went missing, I am not able to search for any apps on Play Store, app in all apps tab arent available in my country anymore (all these apps were available in my country before the update) play.google.com does not show my device, well its really frustrating. I wonder when google will fix this problem. I guess its something to do with their framework services.

I've fixed it today, I'm not exactly sure how, as I tried a dozen different things I read online. Including uninstalling Adfree, removing hosts-file, clearing app-data for some Google Service-apps, flashing gapps one more time, etc.
But what I did just before it started working again, was to remove my Google account (the one used on Play Store, you can remove it from "Accounts/Synchronization" under Settings), restart the device, and then re-add the account again (in "Accounts/Synchronization"-settings). Then everything became as perfect as it was.

Thanks trollsperm. I will try that today. BTW, I have observed one more thing. The playstore works just fine after a new flash on Wi-Fi, but it goes back to the no working state as soon as I switch from Wi-Fi to Mobile Network. Have you encountered that?
I have tried your suggestion of deleting the account and re-add the account. This was the outcome
1.The play store started working fine and app sync was flawless. This was on Wi-Fi
2. I switched to the mobile internet and the play store worked fine until I rebooted the phone. The play store stopped working and apps were missing after the reboot with the mobile network on.
3. I then cleared the play store cache and data and switched on WiFi. Opened play store and voila the play store worked normally.
4. I did the same process on the mobile network but it didn't work out.
I guess the Google location services are kinda screwed up on the mobile network and not on WiFi.

Then I'm afraid your issue is different than mine. For me, the result have always been the same, whether or not I'm on Wifi or mobile. I can now browse Play Store both on Wifi and mobile, and rebooting changes nothing.
When I experienced the issue of "empty" Play Store, the Wifi-connection icon in the upper right corner were always gray (instead of blue) - something that's usually only happening if I'm connected to a wireless network, but the router isn't connected to the actual internet.
My conclusion is inconclusive, I'm just happy that it's back to normal..
Hi guys,
I'm facing the exact same problem as rahulananda.
In my case, the play store running on my Galaxy S4 and also on my notebook, is empty - searchs returns nothing and whey I access directly an app page, it says the app is not available in my country (Brazil).
For me, play store works fine over when mobile data (4G) is enabled, it doesn't work at all on wifi.
I also have a Galaxy S3 which is working perfectly on wifi and also mobile data.
It doesn't seem to be related to play store version, as in all my devices it is currently on version 4.3.11 - besides it is also not working on my laptop.
But, indeed, this is an issue to determine the location - for some reason, over my wifi, and rahulananda's mobile data, Play Store is unable to determine the country.
I found this on Google's Known issues: support.google.com/googleplay/known-issues/1319135?hl=en reffer to issue 8324410.
Hope they fix this soon, this is driving me crazy!!!
Let me know if you find a solution!
Its a simple fix as long as you have root.If you do look at this:
1. Navigate to the Build.prop
2. Find these 2 lines:
Code:
ro.build.description=
ro.build.fingerprint=
3. Delete everything in front of the "=" sign
4. Download a custom rom for another device that has great compatibility with apps(htc one, sgs4)
5. Copy those lines from its build.prop to yours
6. Reboot and Enjoy your market:good:
Well, my problem has been solved after applying the latest CM10 nightly update.
