Hi All
I have a Galaxy S2 jailed to portuguese TMN carrier, and it will be easier to see the pope than to expect an official ICS update from them. Can someone indicate a link to a tutorial about how to root & flash ICS rom on S2?
Thank you all for your help.
PS.: I have a Galaxy S and I never thought I would have ICS on it, before the new S2.

If you like pure stock ROM, there's a new ICS called NEAT ROM, by Sale. I'm still on GB, but I am preparing myself to flash Neat ROM, since I like stock .
Whats best rom posts are banned on XDA for the simple reason their is no best and we dont want repetitions of the same post everyday .

I have a few questions sorry if its a repost but id rather make sure I get a good answer to those questions then any other variant of them.
I got a galaxy s2 a week ago and I feel like the battery life is really bad and the phone heats alot sometimes.... (BTW this is my first smartphone EVER) I was wondering which one of all these custom ROMs out there is the best for the galaxy s2? Which one will give me the smoothest experience with a good battery life and fix that heating problem?
Also, I have the Canadian bell's version so MUGKG2... When I look at ROMs all I see is XXKH3 or XXKE7, etc... Basically how and what version do I have to use/install to get a custom ROM? (P.S I know how Odin works and I know how to root since my phone is already rooted)
And what is the latest Android version possible to get on the galaxy s2? I heard something about 4.0 but I think the latest version possible to install is the 2.3.4 am I right? Also, every ROM is 2.3.4 right? Or do I have to flash a 2.3.4 (or 4.0 depending on the latest version) kernel on the phone?
Thanks for your time and have a good day!!!!!!!

Hey everybody I just bought my Galaxy tab 10.1 wifi only a couple of weeks ago and decided to try a new ROM. I have a Samsung Captivate (AT&T) which I actually found a 2.3.4 ROM for, which I love (even though it was never released in the U.S. / leaked I think). Anyway, I'm trying to find the stock OEM 3.1 ROM to put back on my Galaxy tab (the U.S. one) but I can't find it ANYWHERE. I just don't understand how it's not out there, as easily as I found it for my Captivate. If I'm wrong, please let me know. If you have a download link, please send it or any advice would be appreciated. Not sure if email is allowed to be posted on here but it's [email protected] Oh yea, found the OEM ROMS for the Asian and European tabs just not the U.S. one. Thanks everybody.
Appreciate,
Bri
Check out the Task and Phantom "Extreme Stock Experience" in the developers section. It's stock Honeycomb, only optimized.

Thanks yo I appreciate it. I will have to check it out.

Check out teamovercome website for KME restock. Its exactly what you want if you need to flash stock. KME is the last OTA update for the US wifi only tab. If you had your tab prior to KME, the last update of stock non-touchwiz is KF4. Tasks and Phantom extreme stock is KF3, so if you want KF4 you need to flash the original KF3 CWM backup from pershoot and do OTA to KF4.

EXCLUSIVE: Android 4.0.1 by Samsung for SGS2 (CUSTOM)
Samsung Galaxy S II official Ice Cream Sandwich test build leaked, available 4 flashing
The first official Samsung Galaxy S II Android 4.0 build is out and is now available for download. Folks over Sammobile.com, who got this build from their inside source, say that this build is not for everyone. If you only install stock builds and do no play around with Android on your Galaxy S II then you better stay away from it.
Being a test version, it is expected to have bugs. Initial impressions reveal that Samsung has kept its TouchWiz launcher over the ICS UI, but Android 4.0 elements are clearly visible and you will notice them in the following video.
What works in I9100XXKP1?
All the Basics work like calling , sms , internet and more.
Some applications havent been worked out correct so they will force close on stress.
Because we are dealing with a “CUSTOM” ROM here it can occur that the phone will react very slow from time to time.
There is also the chance of some “RANDOM REBOOTS”
We at Sammobile advise people to not use thhis ROM for daily usage.
If you want to download this firmware then you can do so via the provided link below.

Password: samfirmware.com
Again if you only flash STOCK ROMs then dont flash this.
Because you flash this rom with “unsecure” kernel the phone thinks its “CUSTOM”and will start counting on your custom counter.
You will loose your warranty because of this.
Awesome!
I haven't unlocked my new s2, but was waiting for this. Will definetly wait for some reports on this ROM before flashing
I immediatly try it!! Thanks
Why again a topic, there are already topics of it,or did i miss something?

Awesome....What better Christmas Gift to all S2 Lovers.
Now Sammy is in race with xda developers....Kidding ;-)
Anyways...Just went through the video..Looks genuine.
Lets what comes of this in the coming days
Still a bit too strong as an expression, "official". It´s no more (and no less, for that matter) than a leak of a beta.
Use the thread in General to discuss this leak.

Is it possible to treat the I9210 just like the I9100, and root , flash cm9/10 into it?
I'm not a S II user, I use galaxy note, but planning to get a small one, and the I9210 is one of my preference.
check here for more info if you want it.

If you are asking if it is possible to flash the CM9/10 ROM for the I9100 on to the I9210 the answer is no.
If you are asking if it is possible to flash CM9/10 on to the I9210 or I9210T the short answer is yes, there is info for the international version (I9210) in the link therethere provided for you, if you are after one for the I9210T (Telstra Australia 4G version) (I notice you are from Australia ) it is a modified version of the Skyrocket or I727 ROM (not sure which) and has the custom kernel already in it and you can check the thread on it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1593061.
There are links in there for CM9 and 10, and also ported versions of Sky ICS and Embryo 5.0/5.1 which are based on TouchWiz (you need to also flash the custom-made Dreamkernel [thanks to Tallustus] after you flash the ROM for SkyICS and Embryo - Not needed for CM9/10 though).
Hope this helps

All i know is that there isnt a dedicated rom for i9210.
You can use the roms avaiable for Skyrocket one, but my experience is that is too buggy. No keys working (some workarounds for this are avaible), issues on 4G, camera, etc.
The phones are slighty different so...
