Can I root + flash rom to Galaxy S II LTE I9210 ? - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is it possible to treat the I9210 just like the I9100, and root , flash cm9/10 into it?
I'm not a S II user, I use galaxy note, but planning to get a small one, and the I9210 is one of my preference.

check here for more info if you want it.

If you are asking if it is possible to flash the CM9/10 ROM for the I9100 on to the I9210 the answer is no.
If you are asking if it is possible to flash CM9/10 on to the I9210 or I9210T the short answer is yes, there is info for the international version (I9210) in the link therethere provided for you, if you are after one for the I9210T (Telstra Australia 4G version) (I notice you are from Australia ) it is a modified version of the Skyrocket or I727 ROM (not sure which) and has the custom kernel already in it and you can check the thread on it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1593061.
There are links in there for CM9 and 10, and also ported versions of Sky ICS and Embryo 5.0/5.1 which are based on TouchWiz (you need to also flash the custom-made Dreamkernel [thanks to Tallustus] after you flash the ROM for SkyICS and Embryo - Not needed for CM9/10 though).
Hope this helps

All i know is that there isnt a dedicated rom for i9210.
You can use the roms avaiable for Skyrocket one, but my experience is that is too buggy. No keys working (some workarounds for this are avaible), issues on 4G, camera, etc.
The phones are slighty different so...

A good ICS Rom for my S2

Hi All
I have a Galaxy S2 jailed to portuguese TMN carrier, and it will be easier to see the pope than to expect an official ICS update from them. Can someone indicate a link to a tutorial about how to root & flash ICS rom on S2?
Thank you all for your help.
PS.: I have a Galaxy S and I never thought I would have ICS on it, before the new S2.

If you like pure stock ROM, there's a new ICS called NEAT ROM, by Sale. I'm still on GB, but I am preparing myself to flash Neat ROM, since I like stock .
Whats best rom posts are banned on XDA for the simple reason their is no best and we dont want repetitions of the same post everyday .

No. You will cause damage as that is for the international version.
Go to Galaxy S II I9100G Android Development for the G versions forum.
Make sure you read lots and know what you are doing otherwise you could end up with an expensive paperweight. Backup EVERYTHING including EFS!

Follow this thread to install ICS on your phone:

Then follow JamieD's thread to install 4.2/CM 10.1.

That doesn't seem to answer my question though. Stock on my phone is T-Mobile ICS 4.04 and is the galaxy note made for T-Mobile.
*My problem is not being able to flash 4.2.2 ROMs (such as jelly beer 4.2.2 , etc.) Because it was made for AT&T i717.
The first link tells you how to "convert" your phone to at&t stock ICS by extracting and replacing the boot.IMG file, except you are doing the opposite ROMs. The second link is to the most current JB based ROM, but it looks like without a current boot.IMG from a T-Mobile ROM you are at a dead end.
So, in my opinion, you can't yet. I saw they have CM10 over there. What could a close-fitting CM10.1 have for you that a native CM10 doesn't have?

[Q] Kernel Selection for Glaxy S3

Hey to all. This is my first post here, even though I have been using the wonderful advice of XDAers for quite some time now. My questions is this. I am looking to flash a custom kernel to my phone, but have not been able to figure out if I would require a specific kernel for my phone (techinally a T999V, but flashed with TMO rom, so a T999) or can I use any kernel from any Glaxy S3 variant? I know with ROMs you must ensure the correct one is used or you end up with a paper weight. Would the same be true for kernels as well? If I did happen to have a bad flash, would ODIN/NANdroid save my bacon?
Mmmmm...Bacon...
Thanks in advance guys and gals! Looking forward to being a contributing memer to this site, and helping out wherever I can!

Just like when flashing ROMs it is even more important to make sure the kernel your flashing is specifically meant for your device. That being said I would recommend taking a look at this guide that's lists available Touchwiz and AOSP kernels for the T999 Galaxy S3 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=36426656&postcount=2. Only flash kernels for your version of the Galaxy S3 and never flash an international version Galaxy S3 kernel on a US/Canada version Galaxy S3. It is sometimes possible to recover from a bad flash through a NANDROID backup, oftentimes a ODIN restore will be needed.Let me know if you still have questions .

Awesome, thanks! So in other words, I need to ensure my kernel is specifically for the T999 or T999V model of GS3, I cannot use one for ATT or VZW or anything, dtrictly TMO T999 or T999V...
Thanks!!!
Part 2 - I dont quite understand the difference between TW and AOSP, as during my learning days AOSP and AOKP were explained to me in a false way...Thanks!

Yes, you need to ensure the kernel you are flashing is specifically for the T999 or T999V model the of the Galaxy S3. DO NOT use one for ATT, SPR, VZW, etc. only for the T999 or T999V. In answering your second question, TW stands for Touchwiz which refers to the proprietary skin and features Samsung includes in it's ROM it is what the stock ROM that ships with your phone is based on. When browsing ROM threads, the threads title will indicate whether the ROM is based on Touchwiz (TW) or AOSP. AOSP stands for Android Open Source Project and refers to ROMs that have been compiled from source using the Android Open Source Project source code and guidelines ROM thread titles will mention if the ROM is based on AOSP. Many popular ROMs such as Cyanogenmod, AOKP, Paranoid Android, and others are based on the AOSP. AOKP refers to the Android Open Kang Project it is based on a combination of AOSP and Cyanogenmod source code but includes it's own set of unique features and enhancements, you can learn more about AOKP here.

[Q] Moving from i9100 to i9100G (chinese)..common doubts

HI guys,
Due to an undesired dead of my previous i9100, i'm probably switching to a i9100G, which I'll get borrowed from a friend for a few months. It's 100% the chinese model.
After a bit of checking, I've found that it's not an Exynos model. Does this mean i9100G gets official full CM10.1 support? TI chipsets have all the source available, right?
If I want to install ROMs, any CWM ROM for i9100G will work, right? The ones I can't flash will be official samsung roms for i9100G international, right?
Thank you!

YES, its TI-Omap processor on that I9100G for u.And all Custom rom's meant for I9100G will wrk on it
This is great news! I couldn't find the official thread for CM10.1 for the i9100g, could you point it for me? I'm mostly interested in a JB vanilla experience, maybe with a modification to allow the camera to store pics in the SD and also allow mass storage, but that would be it. Oh, and stability...I had so many crashes with my i9100 on CM10.1, and camera/3D issues. Do you have any recommendation?
Thanks a lot!
EDIT: Huh, nevermind, now I found the CM10.1 thread. Still, any good vanilla recommendation besides CM10.1?
EDIT2: Another question better to ask to wiser people: I'm going to receive this 9100g running android stock 2.3.x chinese version, how could I change to international JB bootloader?

Thanks for the info! HOwever my concern isn't about finding an international JB ROM. I think there needs to be some kind of previous flash in order to make it work on a 9100G chinese version. Is this correct?
Thank you!

previous flash of what
Not sure, that's my concern. I believe you can't just odin your way to international stock JB from a chinese stock ROM, you'll need a way to turn your 9100G international (I guess it's related with some kind of tag string in the bootloader or similar).
