I've had my vibrant about 3 weeks and its been rooted since the first day i've had it.....but now i notice a lag...particularly sliding between home screens. i've only installed about 5 apps plus the neccesary ones for root (Rom Manager, Root Explorer, Titanium Backup). So far i've only uninstalled and deleted The Sims 3 for TMobile. I've read about lag-fixes but i'm not sure if i need it. Would removing more of the bloatware that came with the phone speed it back up or should i apply a lag-fix....and if so which one is the best? Thanks in advance
Go to the market and search one click lag fix (app) thatz what i used it rooted my phone and applied the lag fix. Look for it on here the dev name is ryanza
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Thanks....downloading now....but my phone is already rooted....will this app un root it when I install it?
You running Touch Wiz and many Widgets? I turned off the widgets and or I switched to Launcher Pro and I don't really experience any lag. Honestly I think all those lag fixes are over rated and many have suggested that after a week or so the lag comes back even worse.
No it will not un root your phone. Ryanza's lag fix will really speed things up.
ok....thanks for your input guys....i'll try it out and if it starts to lag again then i'll just remove it....thanks again guys
[?] [Script] V6 SuperCharger !! HTK & BulletProof Launchers! FIX MEMORY FOR ALL ANDRO
so far nobody has mentioned this, not even sure how many people look in this section of the forums, but here goes.
anyone out there willing to test and port this over for fascinate?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=991276
general info:
Main points:
- CUST-OOMIZER! Use your settings without Autokiller Memory Optimizer or Auto Memory Manager!
- For newer phones with lots of ram, use the 3rd slot to set how much free ram you want.
- If you have /system/etc/rootfs/init.mapphone_umts.rc, it makes a backup and edits that single file. This is nice and tidy.
... Thank to kabaldan for pointing out the importance of certain things.
- Most Custom ROMs - If you have a /system/etc/init.d folder, it creates 99SuperCharger in there and edits /data/local.prop (20 entries added for adjusting priorities and groupings). You shouldn't need to configure anything else.
- Stock ROMs - If you have neither, it creates /data/99SuperCharger.sh which you can load up on boot (run as root) with Script Manager. The OOM groupings work as well since it happens on boot in local.prop (20 entries added)
Note: For some reason, the minfree levels do not stick on some Custom ROMs. I don't know why this is. Maybe a bug in GingerBread?
........ If this happens to you, use Script Manager to load /system/etc/init.d/99SuperCharger "on boot" and "run as root"
In case of any error, you will find a related help file in the root of your SD card.
So... I think this covers ANY Android ROM
It also determines if you're using Script Manager and gives appropriate information/tips/help files depending on what other factors are present.
The above is really ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW.
The V6 SuperCharger script does everything!
Anything below is extra info!
It's just a single file... 806 lines (807 if you count the blank line at the end LOL)
So... What's it do?
It makes your phone FAST... super snappy with better multitasking!
If you read between the red lines below (parts 1-3), you'll see that at first it was only about minfrees and launcher redraw.
But after installing GingerBread, I saw that it needed more work than Froyo LOL.
Groupings were ALL MESSED UP and made NO SENSE to me whatsoever...
So I figured out how to group them more like CM6 (Froyo) but that still wasn't good enough...
I further rearranged the OOM Groupings and Priorites and lowmemorykiller values for a...
COMPLETE MEMORY MANAGEMENT FIX!
That's basically what this is
Faster than ever, no launcher redraws, multitasking is better... why?
Because it works with the lowmemorykiller and letting it work the way it's meant to work.
Also, because of the rearrangement, it works the same on all roms!
The problem with using minfree tweakers like AMM or AKMO is that it doesn't work the same on all roms.
Secondary apps may be in slot 3 on some roms but in slot 5 in others!
That's why you hear people comment "I tried AKMO but it didn't do anything..."
Most likely it didn't do anything because the apps weren't sitting where they were expected to be.
Upon installation, V6 SuperCharger will first clean up any previous supercharging so none of your files get cluttered.
But if you toggle between Hard To Kill and BulletProof launchers, the memory adjustments aren't affected.
So you can leave your minfrees at stock/default settings and apply the Hard To Kill Launcher and still get the OOM Grouping/Priority fixes.
So if you love your ROMs memory settings, just try the HTK Launcher/OOM Fix... you won't regret it
Ah, I used this script on my wife's Eris, and it did fix the speed a tad, no clue how it would react on an already fast phone, but hell, any little bit helps.

Yes it is on verizon's network. I'm guessing that file isn't doing anything on CDMA phones.
I'm not a dev but I do know my networks. I work for Alcatel-Lucent in which we translate & make the cell cabinet, towers, & customer networks communicate. We are the people that brought you verizons 3g & LTE technology. Currently working on AT&T's UMTS & LTE networks. Yes i am the inside inside man. We provide the Base Station and most routers and make them communicate for the providers... Sprint, verizon/alltel, nTelos, cricket, metroPCS, etc...

Wow... chill out dude. I saw umts at the end of the file and simply was just saying that these phones are cdma. I already said I'm not a dev. Comments like yours make people not even want to comment. I'm not new to roms, rooting, etc... I started out with the original droid, then D2 and I've had the fascinate ever since it came out. Rooted & started out with superclean when it became available. Geeze
Yes well in post 5 I pointed out that it also looks for the init.d folder and if not an alternative method by using the data folder.
Has nothing to do with networks.
It has to do with which file or method is used to implement the tweaks depending on what options are available.

Yeah I tried this on a friends Fascinate and it dropped dead, wouldnt boot up.
Had to Odin up and restore back to stock.
I noticed my friends swype keyboard would lag even after restore back to stock.
thus the reason to try this script in the first place. The fasciante is decent lil bugger.
Its too bad I sing its praises on Evo thought, it really kicks butt.
im using this right now on my fascinate running miui 1.9.9 and its working flawlessly... three 3g tweak also works great. thanks zeppelinrox
It works with the fascinate, I use it constantly, and it doesn't need to be ported, the author stated it should work on nearly any device/ROM setup. Just get Script Manager app from the market, open app, go to settings, browse as root, then run the V6 script. It will give instructions as it runs.
Sent via Morse code.
Just ran the script last night, while it took me a while to fidget with it and figure out what option was best for me I can't believe that cm7 could be any smoother but there is a definite difference after running the script, with no lag, or home screen redraw, my phone is as smooth if not smoother at 1GHz.then it was at 1.5GHz before the script...just want to say it was painless easy and really made a huge difference...thanks a lot!
On a side note the battery calibration that was linked in the op does seem to work but I had to figure out when to pull the battery since the original instructions where on the milestone, either way great job and thanks again, I'll run this script after any rom I go to from here on out!

I ran it last night as well. I cannot really tell a difference. What setting are you running?
Option 8 and then option 12, set to browse root, and run as root in the first config screen...afterwords reboot and run option 1...it will tell you if your home screen was easy to kill or not and gives you a list of minfrees...I had to downgrade my busy box to 1.18.2.to get everything working
Edit: I used script manager to run the script and then put the widget on my home screen to easily access it...if you run option 1 and it says your home screen is bullet proof then it did work...I seem to get much better 3g connectivity and better download speeds.

I have searched the forums and can't find someone with the same problems i am experiencing i hope someone can help me with a solution.
Problem:
If i play it for too long the game starts lagging horribly, i found this to happen a lot when playing trough some of the cut scenes.
And i think this one is only on our phone so....
When i press the menu key, which should take me to the home screen, it should save the game at it's current state, but it just closes it and i have to start from my last saved game or checkpoint.
Also i played the game on Froyobread V21 and now on V22 and had to start over because for some reason my apps weren't backed up and i had to download it again.
If you have any of the problems or know solutions write below.

I tried a lot of fixes but nothing works i tried:
Full wipe
Uninstalling the app
Moving it to SD Card (no change in loading speed)
Changing ROMs (Froyobread only!)
But still no solution.
P.S. And i see that Inotia 3 is one of the most downloaded free apps in the market so can someone with Froyobread confirm that it's working without any problem on the rom.
Me too. Even i used OC, mddi, and make it to lower quality using chainfire3d. but it still very laggy for playing it long.
Maybe it is inotia3's bug, or our phone isn't strong enough.
But i still waiting the next version of this game, hope this can be better.
I used Elelinux v.3 and FroyoBread 23b.
Better phone needed for it
Just get used to the fact that X8 is far not the powerful phone. For this type of games you just need a better phone.
As long as I keep having X8 I'm using it only for working/apps purposes. I'll play games when I buy a new phone, since on X8 they load so long, that there is no pleasure from playing them ...

Its sad to know that many people has the same problem with this game app, when i get laggy ive tried to activated flight mode on my phone, and its work well with the problem, but u cant used the nline shop, because the flight mode will turn off your internet connection. At least i can played in offline mode without laggy prob, and i can play this game in undervolt condition for longlife battery used.
Ps , iam using samsung galaxy tab 7'

That is usefull information. That means it's not the device that causes the problem, it's the app itself. Thank you for the reply.
my brother sent me a addfree version and the problem was over, at least for me...

Yep addfree version fixes the problem.. at least on gingerdx v004

Well.....
Im sorry to say this but i have given up on Inotia 3 because of the bugs and lag.
Good news is i have found a replacement game with the same controls, so no multi-touch needed and the graphics are better also it doesn't have any lag at all.
The game i am talking about is Destinia it's just a great replacement for Inotia and i know that all of you who like Inotia will like it.
Helo people, I am also user who had same problem with Inotia3, lots of lags and reboots.
I am using gingerdx 018, where to find addfree version ?
For me beter replacment is zenonia 3.
I must say thats great game
stock rom - not rooted , cuz i brick it and need to do everything again..

Make a backup before trying this!
You have to dowload supercharger.sh.txt, after, rename it to superchager.sh and place it to the root of your sdcard.
disable "lock home in memory" in your cyanogenmod settings.
Now open terminal emulator in your x8 and write this:
su
sh sdcard/supercharger.sh
in please select scrolling speed, enter 0
in please enter option, enter 1
is home is locked in memory, enter no
and now, you have some settings (2 to 6) just enter a number, I use the aggressive 2 settings (option 3), but some people like the balanced settings 1.
after choosing your option reboot (option 16) and enjoy...
For me it's work great, and sorry for my bad english
Guys, I know that that there is a Q&A thread but i am tired of this and i need help fast. Ok so I flashed the witeJoker ftf then i flashed 7.2.6 sirkay's kernel and then i factory resetted and installed JJ's 3.0 TEST. I ran Tianium backup. Restored the all 120 apps with all data. Ran ScriptManager. And ran teh V6 rc8.2 supercharger script. Then i realised that services jar are not patched. I patched it trough phonewith web app. Downloaded the services.jar restarted and when i ran the script i setted to unledded and i got 100% superchargerd. But wheni play templerun or capture photos with camera360 or browse or use youtube whenihit home there is nothing but wallpaper like its not supercharged. Please i cant go without supercharge. Otherwise i have to go to gingerbread witch sucks

Did you wipe dalvik cache...that often fixes unexpected behavior. I am pretty sure that you can do that now....you won't lose any of your apps.....
If you have more than one launcher installed sometimes the supercharger will protect the "wrong" one. So you need to make sure that the launcher you are using is actually the one who's priority is being changed. The output from the supercharger script will tell you which launcher is getting its priorities adjusted. The easiest way to do make sure that the priority of the "right" launcher is being adjusted is to only have 1 launcher installed. Back up and uninstall the unwanted launchers using TB. You can restore them if you change your mind...if you restore APP+Data most of your launcher settings will be restored. Before you do this, make sure that the launcher you want to keep is installed into /system/app.
JJ v3.0 has ROM control which also contains a memory manager that may "readjust" your Supercharger settings. The default LMK in ROM control is 49Mb, whereas unleaded sets it to 28Mb. It looks to me like the ROM control settings run after the 99supercharger init.d script, so you either want to run a Powershift script (you should find these scripts in /sdcard/V6_Supercharger/PowerShift_Scripts) or change the setting in ROM control to 24Mb, so it is more in line with your supercharger settings.
It has been reported on the Supercharger thread that having both zram and the supercharger can cause lags (but I don't remember seeing anything about launcher redraws), so you can try inactivating zram (if it is active)....I have not experienced any problems with having them both active.
So the default priority of the launcher is +6 in ICS, so it is pretty easy for it to get killed by the android memory manager. The supercharger should make it Hard-to-Kill which changes the priority to +1. If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and you are still getting launcher redraws...then bullet proof the launcher (it is one of the options in the supercharger script). This will make the priority of the launcher -16!!!! So it will be the last thing killed by the android memory manager. If you do this and the launcher is still getting wiped out then something else is going on.
If you are like me....you will be tempted to bullet proof a whole bunch of apps....don't! Once you run a bullet proof app it will tend to stay in memory (cause the android memory manager won't kill it)...soon your memory will fill up with bullet proof apps and the performance of your phone will be soooooo slow!

nwm....answering questions like yours is always hard because you don't know what the other person knows...and nobody knows everything...except maybe Sirkay.....have you tried to Smurf Out your phone (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1517632), it will also protect your launcher and you won't have to add another app...is that 201 now?

I think you should read this thread first: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1556013
2 things if you want get 100% Supercharge, fix SU segment fault issue and install busy box 1.9.4 wraitdhu from Supercharger Stater Kit. And last thing u should use the latest script, RC9 T16.

I recently got android 4.0.4 for my phone. I used this link: http://www.arulraj.net/2012/07/upgrade-samsung-galaxy-5-to-ice-cream-sandwich.html The problem is that my phone is extremely slow and many apps just force close on start. How can i speed up my phone? I was researching this problem and many ppl said something about kernels. Should I get that for my phone and how will it help? Also, what apps help make it faster and what else can i do to make my phone faster?Btw the phone is rooted.

Don't touch the kernel if you are inexperienced in such things you will just screw the rom up... go into developement settings and overclock your cpu to 768mhz for a start. governer... smartass v2 should be fine. use a task manager to kill background apps etc. there are many things you can do but remember that 4.0 has higher requirements than our phone has so performance will always be an issue... if u want have a look into swap partitions, cpu overclocking, cpu governers, I/O Schedulers, Caching etc... there is so much to tweaking performance to get the most out of your device
When I stop apps that r running, they just come back within 5 seconds. Also, i am already at 768mhz. 768 mhz has made it a little faster, but some apps wont launch and just stop when i launch them. Is there a way to get them to work?

I really would suggest you change roms mate, either CyanogenMod 7.2 or 10.1
10.1 is Android 4.2 and 7.2 is 2.3.7
naturally 7.2 is fastest and most stable.
But why is it that some apps work and others dont?
How about increasing the ram? Can I do that?
Will this work? http://www.droidiser.com/2012/05/how-to-increase-internal-memory-and-ram.html

You cannot increase the RAM like in a computer as it is attached to the motherboard directly. That link describes using a swap partition on the sd that acts kind of like ram but it is not ram itself, it is slower than ram and less efficent however swap can be useful. I have tried swap and noticed no real difference in performance at all but you could sure try it... just remember to enable swap in the cyanogenmod settings otherwise the partition will do nothing and u lose valuable sd card space

i'm using CM7,should i use CM10 or MIUI or still using CM7?
sorry about my english
Use seeder app set to aggresive, no need to oc just set gov to performance. If you not use any ramscript use romtool box go to memory manager try optimum preset. And also go to sd booster to boost your sd speed cache.
That's all Regards

Honestly, make an effort to purchase a new phone. I've had a i5000 foir almost a year and sometimes I almost went crazy due to its slowness.
You can try using a (fast) sdcard as supplementary memory, but it will be still slow. And no way to use a CyanogenMod later than 7.2. Stick with this at minimum.
But you can find really good bargains at ebay. Please consider it.
