Does anyone have issues with quite a few apps on the market not available to install on i5500? Some of the apps I've tried to download from market seem like they would be available for this device, example searching for yahtzee games, about 1/3 are not able to install. I thought maybe it was a screen size issue or similar. Recently I wanted to install Auto Memory Manager and it's ghosted out in the available devices menu. I left a note on the devs blog and he stated that there is no restrictions, yet I can't install it. Is this an issue with the Market, i5500 or the devs?
yeah i have the same,
its for like the half of the apps wich i want i cant install...
thats also why i use Applanet, because than i sill can install them
Ok I downloaded that app, but I can't seem to search. Or both apps I'm looking for aren't on there.
Well the dev for AMM asked what version of android I'm running, so apparently there is some sort of restriction or he wouldn't have asked. I'm suspecting devs mark apps for US phones and the i5500 probably isn't labled as one. Any devs know how the app restrictions work?
This is due to the Galaxy 5 having a small screen resolution so only a few apps show up....for the HTC Vogue it was fixed so i guess that it can be fixed somehow....
I already posted this question on MAD Team forums but no one replied : http://www.madteam.co/forum/index.php?/topic/511-full-android-market/
Ther than that it could also be due to the region of your Market....to fix this just use Market Enabler to fake your region
Did you try "market enabler" from the market? I dont know if its the screen size but it brings more selections of apps onto my X10. Just a thought.....

I installed this app onto my friends 2.2 ROM on his galaxy 5. I believe it was also possible on 2.1. He is using a north american ROM. Try the app I posted above me and see if it works.

I tried downloading market enabler, but I get the message that it's not available for my device as well. So it appears another one of my issues is not having a carrier and using my i5500 as a pmp/pda with only wifi.
Any update on this problem?
Android Market is running a great sale (lots of popular apps for $0.10) and I can't buy almost any of them.. Specifically - Paper Camera, SketchBook, Great Little War Game, MineCraft etc.
These apps are not searchable and when I'm trying to buy from web page, I get error "Item not compatible with your device".
I live in Australia, until today was using I5500LUYJP2 firmware. Today I also tried a bunch of other firmwares for Asia, Europe, Telstra Australia, also tried "Market Enabler", but nothing helped.
So is it something wrong with my phone or just all these apps require higher screen resolution?
I say the screen size. Some may need multitouch but the main reason is because developers don't bother with our phone, because its not very new or popular.
I tried them games too, kinda bummed as its only for a while and I'm getting my x play for xmas. Ah well

Screen size, multitouch, lack of hardware resources(we have an anemic RAM), or sometimes just 'cuz they didnt test it with our phones yet. Most apps not available on the market still so work with our phones, just download the .apk files (search for them on google), push them to your SD card, and select them from your file manager. (you need to enable "Unknown Sources" in Setting->Applications). Even though this may work for most apps, some are still not compatible, so even the apk files wont work either.
Hey All:
Bought PvZ during today's sale on my Nexus S. Play Store claims that it's not compatible with my Tablet S (though the thread in this forum claims that it is). Canadian Tab running American ICS 4.0.3 rooted with Condi.
I've used Titanium Backup on my Nexus, and tried to restore that backup on my Tablet, and also tried to extract the APK and install. No luck so far. PvZ downloads the additional 80mb, restarts, shows an hourglass, and then goes back to menu before the PopCap logo (no FC notification).
Can anybody help me get this running on my tablet? Thanks!

I've been seeing this BS more and more that certain devices are banned from getting updates and others aren't. I have a few different devices on difference version of Android and what i've found myself doing is backing up the apps on a supported device using appmonster free and then uploading it to my dropbox and installing it on the "unsupported" device
Just flashed randomblame's excellent JELLYTIME ROM on my Inspire. It's working great, but like so many others I've been bitten by the paid app bug in the Play Store encryption process. I'm looking for a work-around, but there doesn't seem to be much out there, or I'm missing it.
As far as widgets go, HD Widgets responded well to the "back up, delete and restore" treatment. But neither of my preferred keyboards (SwiftKey or Thumb Keyboard) will persist after a reboot. I tried the process mentioned above, but keyboard still reverts to stock. I'm using a free version of another keyboard app, and it does persist, but I'd really like to find a better solution.
3 questions:
1. Is there a workaround to get these keyboard apps to persist? I've found nothing, and I'd rather not go through the whole installation process every time I reboot.
2. If not, is there a way to use Tasker to install after reboot? I'm not really knowledgable about Tasker, and this seems to be beyond it's capabilities, but I'm not sure.
3. I've read that Google disabled encryption in the JB Play Store. What does that mean exactly? That apps purchased from JB Play aren't encrypted? If that's the case then they should persist correct? But I have, I think, the JB Play Store, and when I installed SwiftKey from Play, it still doesn't persist. Maybe I don't actually have JB Play. Or maybe Play remembers that my phone was originally Gingerbread and it won't let me install JB apps. I don't know.
Any suggestions?
P.S. Just checked. Along with JELLYTIME I flashed JB gapps zip found in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1796675
Looks like the right one to me. Hmm...
Another P.S. When I search Play Store for Google Wallet on my laptop, it tells me it's not compatible with my phone. So I'm thinking Play doesn't realize I'm running JB. Is there a way to fix this?
Hello. I just installed the Polish 4.1.2 ROM on my Galaxy SIII and i went on to install apps. I have it on manual because i like installing each app by itself and make its settings etc.
I have a problem though. After some experimentation with many apps until i find the ones i like i now have many pages on the My Android Apps tab. The thing is that when i check Other apps in my library it doesnt show them all unless i install enough so they leave the Other apps in my library tab.
Is there a way to watch all my apps so i can know which one to install? Thank you
I have been playing around with my note in the past while, and I found a rom that I like and is fairly stable. Its daydream 4.4.4... I am wondering about installing samsungs apps store. Can I get it and where do I find it? I signed in with my Samsung account and I cannot seem to find the download to install it. I tried another route and the apps store just opens and gives me the build number and does nothing else.
Any help would be appreciated!
thanks

There is no stock ROM available for the note above Jellybean. Therefore no Samsung apps on KitKat. If it's just regular apps you need, use Google Play store included in any gapps package. If you really need Samsung apps use a stock based ROM. (Custom Canadian, Blackstar, Padawan, Only one, etc)

good reason. ha ha! thanks again. I guess I will have to google some alternatives for the apps I have been using before.
