Lets see if anyone can help....a lot of this talk of rooting and flashing is over my head...My atrix is running 2.3.4. It was like this when I got it. The wifi won't turn on at all. It only shows error. Is there anyway that I can put it back to 2.2? Or is there anyway to fix the error. Someone told me the kernels may be different??? Is putting a different ROM on the phone very difficult?
Where did you get it from?
yes it may be over your head a little but no means to stop reading up on it and remember to search before your post - there is another thread of this that was recently posted.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1180494&highlight=wifi+error
none the less. we would need more details. what rom you are using, what version of the device you have (US or Intl) key would be going through the thread you got it from. but more than likely the cause is you flashed a kernel/rom that doesn't work with your device it will be an easy fix once the details are given.
I had this issue too... I tried a few different methods to remedy it but the only one that worked was flashing a new ROM.
okay it is a US Version...4.5.91
kernel version....2.6.32.9 ( then below that is says [email protected] #11)
ok so you used an at&t rom on an at&t device? and i assume u kept the same kernel.
No...the phone came like this...I didn't do any of the updates or anything.
I had the same issue after I restored once. Could not fix it...had to reflash a ROM and the problem was fixed.
sent from my unlocked MB860 via Tapatalk
okay so is reflashing the ROM difficult? Is there any thread on here or somewhere else that I can read up on that would be of help doing this. I don't wanna brick this phone but I need the wifi or my data plan is screwed...
I hate to revive this thread but I have a wifi error I can't resolve. I first got it on 1.8.3 and flashed to 2.3.4 and it was gone. Then when I tried to install the new adroidmarket.apk, I got the wifi error and it won't go away no matter how many roms I try to or how many times reflash 2.3.4.
Essentially, wifi says there's an error and any time it tries to turn on, it reboots the phone. I've tried Alien, and Ninja and neither of them worked. I haven't tried piCrust yet.
Been trying to get my phone to run fully on gingerbread, and have tried the official v20e.kdz flash, as well as Mik_os's CM7, both worked great, and I liked them a lot.
BUT, I can't get my 3G/Data connection to work on either. WiFi works fine, and I can connect to the internet fine that way.
So I am currently flashed back to the gross V10V 2.2.1 Froyo until I can get it figured out. I REALLY want to run CM7, but with no 3G I just can't really use it.
Searches have returned nothing. Any other canadian guys out there with this same problem?
I have a data plan, and I am with Koodo/Telus.
I believe it has something to do with the baseband.
Look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1217504
Already checked it out, but the V10E image will not work with my phone. I need the V10V image for it to work. Is there a 7z for the V10V platform?

If you want a custom ROM, select one that corresponds to your baseband or switch the baseband. If you do not, you will have no data. That is all to it. End of story.
You can extract the baseband yourself from KDZ archive. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=901417 (steps 1-2).
All of this covered in the sticky thread.
Got it. Currently have extracted needed files from the uncompressed dz file for my stock ROM. I will be reuploading CM7 and franco's kernel,(Lots of users seem to have luck with it, and I liked it when I ran it for a day) and then flashing my V10V radio and I will let you know!
Edit:
Wait, CM7 currently has a bug so 3G/Data does not work? Shoot! Or am I fixing this by flashing my stock rom's baseband? Will find out soon enough....
And I admit I'm a bit of a noob, I only started doing this last week. I'm learning though.

No dice. My phone was in its factory state when I began this project. It was rooted, installed AmonRa's custom backup, and I installed DrellisDee's Kernel so I could overclock with 2.2.1 froyo. Was stable at 480/768, but it still wasn't enough.
Nandroid backup, google backup, cleared cache, and dalvik. (Thank your AmonRa!)
Flashed CM7, latest stable release 6.5.7
Flashed franco.Kernel.v1-16082011
Booted up, currently running with no issues. Flashed my V10V baseband using LGMDP v1.5.exe .
No errors, everything went well, battery still at 92%.
Still no internet unless connected to WIFI, Damn. Guess I'm S.O.L. on this one eh?
Thanks for the help guys. Gonna check out some other Ginger ROMs and give them a try to see if I can get ginger to work with my 3G network. Any suggestions? I'm stuck with v10 based ROMs since LG hasn't released any V20 setups for my network.

Never thought of that, hmmm, APN's are blank. One second....
GOT IT!!!!! Everything is working, 3G, 2G, wifi, etc.
Of course it was something so simple, haha.
THANKS! Awesome help!
Off to play with my phone for a few hours!
At least it works now.
Yeah, I don't think I can put my phone down now. Definitely enjoying the benefits of CM7. I think I am gonna go make my friend with the galaxy S jealous lol.

You can't tell me how you got the phone rooted in the first place can you?
I'm with Koodo and have the Froyo 2.2.1 firmware on there.
I've tried everything I can do to get it rooted, and it just won't!
Gingerbreak says that there is a problem and won't do it.
Superoneclick hangs on step 6 which is mounting the SD card
I tried to grab a v10_G flash which is the telus stock ( I think ) but there was an error while trying to flash with kdz flash ( update error param =2 ).
Can ANYBODY help me to figure this out?
I havd koodo, just last friday I rooted 2 friend's phones with the gingerbreak app from xda thread. I took the second one and at first it didn't work because there were too many dots in the file name, simple as that, took me a while to figure it out, so I renamed to something like gingerbreak1.apk and it worked. For the data not working, just google " koodo apn " then you'll end up with the good apn info wich is simply. " sp.koodo.com " , port = 80, NO proxy as it just slow down the net, the other settings as they already are, 302 and 230 or something like that they come as default near the bottom of apn creation option in mobile options. All other fields leave blank. Hope it works..

I decided to install a different version of gingerbreak, and suddenly everything worked so simply...
I have since installed clockworkmod and have done a full back up.
Then I installed cyanomod and everything is up and going.
I was nervous to flash the google apps, but everything is happy.
Oh ya... I did have to update my apn data to the koodo network. I've tested MMS in and out.
You might want to try Andy's Phoenix rom; the fastest one and amazing statusbar. Some light text issues will be fixed the 20th october update. Beside that, the best for me with franco 2.6.35.14 oct. 2 kernel. Anyway, glad you could make it

BEFORE I START... THIS IS NOT A PROBLEM WITH MY HOME WIRELESS ROUTER
Don't be that guy
I bought my ATT Atrix last Jan. Everything worked. I rooted it. Everything worked. I updated to 2.3.4. Everything worked. Rooted again. Still worked
Starting Feb. 2, 2011 the wifi and bluetooth have stopped working. When I go to turn either on it tries for a few seconds, then gives me "Error", and then the phone reboots in about 10 seconds.
This is a video of the exact problem I am having. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a73A5oXxpq8 I am not the guy who posted the video. Please don't bug him. I am the first to comment on it.
The phone got so bad yesterday that it got locked into a constant reboot stage where I was lucky to get out one text before it rebooted.
I was able to unlock the bootloader using adb and cwm. I then flashed the GingerMod 2.3.6 #7 Mod. My constant rebooting problem was solved but the WiFi/bluetooth error still remained as well as the reboot while trying to turn either on.
I then read through [FIX] Final fix for nonworking WIFI on unlocked ATT Atrix in some countries This does not seem to work with 2.3.6.
Does anyone know how to get my WiFi working again?
Not sure if it will help you but it helped me with my small wifi issues.
Since i purchased my Atrix I couldn't connect to some wifi spots.
Lets say 1 of 20 spots fails. Just couldn't get ip address.
And just yesterday i flashed the final version of faux 024r ketnel (for neutrino 2.2 ROM[CM Weekly #6]) and problem wanished. At least i connected to spot created on my laptop that i couldn't do before

Which radio are you using?
Latest and greatest for AT&T Atrix is the 36P radio. Could try updating to that if you haven't already. Find 36P here:

For a link to 3gturbocharger:

So far it seems like it worked for me, the wifixer that is. Keep in mind there is a different between 3gturbocharger script and v6supercharger script. Only the 3gturbocharger has the wifixer in it.

Hi Paygan,
Just remember that if you make any change like unlock the bootloader you will loss your warranty, so, if you still have the warranty, you should consider to use it to fix your problem.
I just accepted to lose my warranty because my phone was ok (and I hope it keep that way!

tell me if it works?
If both wifi and bluetooth are not working i'd say 99% it's a hardware issue since they're on the same chip.
i had the same problem a while ago after i dropped my phone. it was unlocked but i was able to warranty it out to AT&T by flashing the stock 2.3.4 blah.blah.91 sbf onto it, which does not re-lock it but it does hide the Unlocked msg that you see at boot
I am having the same problem. running 2.3.6 build 4.5.141
After 2 hours of wifi my phone returned to the same wifi error loop including restarts and the rest. I have tried all fixes on this site and other sites. This occurred soon after I unlocked my device. Does anyone know the cause of this problem?!
I heard hardware problem, maybe it's unlocking from 2.3.6 that caused it since I was also running that

Yeah I've got the same problem too, tried to re-install CM7 and it didn't work.
I haven't tried any of the other solutions yet though.
try changing to a blur based rom if not the stock blur rom. this should stop the problem as it did for me.
Hi,
I have an Atrix4g international (Uk retail) which is rooted and unlocked. Until about a week ago I had been running Aura ROM with a days 1.45 kernel. This was all good but I experienced some 3g data problems.
In the end I got fed up of not being able to download pictures when I received an mms and decided to flash back to my original rom. Once done I thought maybe the over clock 1.45 kernel would work with the stock ROM. It didn't and failed but I then noticed my wifi showed error where it usually said connected.
I reflashed my stock room from my recovery backup and it started working ok again. Both times I flashed my recovery it said error with recovery but the phone details read as it did before when it had the original ROM as it was bought.
Since doing I this I have noticed my phone being really laggy.... I also noticein advanced task killer that I never seek to have more than 80mb free ram.
I checked this against task manager and titanium backup and they seem to agree with the figures tb actually said I was using 100% at one point.
I even tried a factory reset fearing the hard brick stories.
I have wiped the davlik and cache and perfomed a factory wipe from recovery mode
Looks like I have a problem..
Anyone got any ideas on how to rectify this.... Is it likely to be anything to do with partitioning???
You atrix geniuses out there are my last hope so I thank you in advance for any wisdom.
Are you using the stock Gingerbread ROM from your carrier? If so, it sounds like you might need to flash a kernel that has the international RAM fix. Try downloading and flashing this if you're on stock Gingerbread.
http://faux.androidro.ms/Atrix-GB-Kernel-024r-ext4-1.00GHz.zip
That's the 1Ghz kernel made by faux123 for Gingerbread ROMs. After you flash that check to see that you have more RAM available.

You guys on here give priceless advice (most of the time so glad peeps like you take the time to help peeps like me...
Magic!
I'm sorry but I saw the title and just heard this in my head....
Lag city chick, lag lag city chick.... (Tyga - Rack city... stupid song)
Don't ask.
Glad to see you've solved your problem though
Knock on effect??!!
Although I now have many many more rams than an Afghani goat hearder this process has thrown up another problem. The same error message is showing up where it usually says connected under wiring settings and wiring will not activate or connect.
Yes I was trying to flash back to my stock rom (via cm rom manager-reboot into recovery-restore.....)
Ok so the story continues...
after receiving your advice I flashed the file you linked to. And as I reported ram was up dramatically but then when I tried to connect to wifi it wouldn't. I went to settings -wireless settings- checked wiring on check box to turn it on and underneath in grey writing it threw up the message "error" where it usually says "connecting..." or "connected" etc
I went back through cmrm to recovery mode and did the wipe data-wipe cache-restore rom again but did not reflash the file you linked... checked wifi and worked but ram had gone again.
Went back into clement and went through whole process in one. Ie factory data wipe-wipe cache-restored ROM-flashed file you linked to....
Set up phone again checked wifi and still shows error. But my rams are back...
???? Puzzled!
Dont suppose you have an idea whats going on?

Problems not yet entirely solved though..... :-(
Desperation is now setting in
Just an update... and help to solve this is really appreciated.
I have trawled the site and others regarding wifi error.
People seem to suggest its a number of things either hardware or software flashing kernels roms radios wifi fix zips etc etc
I can confirm my problem is not hardware.
I flashed back to aura and wifi function is back. And rams up to normal.....
but I have the original problem I cannot send or download pictures when received via mms.
Is there a fix for this?
I assume not and so therefore would like to ask the question does anyone know of a Stock ATRIX international (uk) retail Rom that is compattable with an ATRIX international (uk) retail phone that has been rooted and unlocked.
For some reason my recovery must be corrupt and is giving me jip.
Maybe someone knows why my recovery isn't working and knows how to fix it?
Thanks all in advance...
When I had the problem with wifi reporting just "error", I fixed it by just redownloading the kernel and reflashing it. Maybe try another recovery if that doesn't work, but I don't know why it wouldn't. :|
The wifi problem is most likely the kernel. Since you are on Aura now though with no data or MMS I would recommend changing your APN settings. Try googling the correct APNs for your carrier and changing them under Settings>Wireless and Networks>Mobile Networks>Access Point Names.

Why dont you try Nottachtrix if you want a blur based rom, or Neutrino for a cm7 based rom?
What recovery are you using? If you arent using Romracers recovery, try flashing his and seeing if his recovery fixes your problem.
Hi all
I dont know why / how but my cell radio suddenly went off and wont turn back on.
I am rooted BL unlocked on Nottachtrix 1.3.1 ROM.
I am also SIM unlocked and I live in India. I have the AT&T atrix.
What might have caused the issue
I was messing around in *#*#4636#*#* with the radio band.
I had this signal boosting app which I use but cant find it on the market to link it now. I 've been using this app for a while so dont know why it would mess up now.
I am not sure if these are what caused the issue but just letting u know
Things I have done so far
Battery pull
Different sim card / different network
I tried flashing the ROM again with full wipe but still no luck
Flashed CM7 Ba2tf and the problem persists.. can I rule out that it is software related?
Everything else is working fine.
I am out of ideas and help is very much appreciated.
Thanks
SOLUTION
The Easiest Fix for this issue is Flashing the right baseband in CWM recovery.
The radio is flashed separately from the Android os. Try a new baseband. However be sure to get the right one for your phone.

Issue solved. I 'll detail what I did so it can help others.
Yes. Selecting the USA Band is what caused the issue.
I dint know that basebands could be flashed on Atrix ROMs. I wish I 've known it sooner. Would 've saved me a lot of trouble. Anyway I went with the SBF method.
I had the 4.5.91 earlier but I went with 4.5.141 to be safe.
Everything went smooth but at the end RSD lite said "Please manually reboot this phone" and the phone went into a boot loop at the M logo. I looked around and after a while found that a Wipe fixes it in stock recovery.
1. Disconnected the phone
2. Pulled out the battery.
3. Rebooted and went into stock recovery.
4. Wiped data and rebooted.
5. Got to home screen fine. Rebooted once again to make sure everything is fine.
Then inserted sim card and I had a signal. Everthing is working great.
Bro i have solution.... Btw... You must have flashed the wrong rom.... Kindly download nd install other one ..or use custom cm14 ROM or miui for best experience..
