Hey guys.
Got a few problems with my GS2 I don't know what has caused it, was working fine checked my voicemail and then it stopped working?
on my pull down notification bar i have "emergency calls only", If i pull out my Sim the phone knows there is no Sim in there, and if i put it back in i can copy all my contacts from Sim card to phone so the card reader is fine.
Even though it says Emergency Calls only, if i dial 911/999 It says "Number is out of service"?
If i turn on the Internet (3G) My Internet will turn on but i will not get any 3G icon along the top of the bar?.
I'm thinking of re-installing the latest Android 2.3.5? but i have no idea of what i need
If people could help me out! i would be very great full!

Yeah can see all that
Android - 2.3.5
Baseband - i9100XXKI4
Kernal - 2.6.35.7-i9100XWKJ1-CL647431 - Is this the right one? for that baseband? I'm not sure if i flashed the kernal correctly?
I flashed the kernal through ODIN in the PDA Section? is that correct?
Build Number - GINGERBREAD.XWKJ1
That's correct.. How about checking your sim if you put it right.. Alot of people sometimes put the sim in the wrong decision or fliped it upside down and didn't realized it.. It happened to me once

So took it back to the shop and out of a good will since they did not have another GS2 I got a HTC Sensation XL for a extra 20£
So im not with the GS2 Community anymore
huh? How did you get your hands on that stolen SGS2? Second hand seller?

Bought it from a store called cex, so never again will I be buying from these shops again
ok so my mates sgs2 was working fine till today, it now wont make/receive calls/texts. when trying to ring we get the error, mobile network not available.
in the settings, in about phone, status, the service state says out of service.
I have tried his sim in my sgs2 and it works, as does my sim in his phone (different networks but still)
so its only his sim in his phone.
any ideas?

Try Change sim carrier.... if not work try reflash... and then Factory Reset.
I think it's a baseband problem so just flash another baseband through ODIN or CWM
---------- Post added at 07:35 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:24 AM ----------
If it still not works, may be the IMEI has lost.
tried different rom and factory resets but no good.
the inside is still there. I had that problem with mine, this seems different

Did u try selecting automatically select network??wt rom and baseband is on phone??
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
yep tried that.
it was originally on tmobile, flashed listening v6.0 to it then unlocked it with the app off the market. was working fine, then just stopped. since IV tried reflashing the rom, changing to checkrom v2.0, Odin and flashed generic Samsung firmware, still the same thing, only no sim cards work in it now.
android version 2.3.4
baseband i9100xxkh3
if i dial code *#1234# I get,
PDA i9100xxkh3
phone i9100xxkh3
CVS i9100oxakh3
if i do *#272*imei# I get,
sales code cpw

ok ill give that a whirl. but when you say about doing the some unlock, I have nowhere to put the unlock code.
IV done a online check of the inside and it came back as unblocked but IV heard they can be unreliable. do you think its maybe been blocked?

I believe that the IMEI of your phone has been blocked by Orange. This might be because your phone has been reported as stolen or damaged. You should go and talk to Orange and ask them to unblock it. Otherwise your phone will not be usable in this country.
Some scumbags do this on purpose so that they can claim phone insurance...
Can anyone tell me.

Hmm.. that should have definitely worked. Did you press the send button/call button?
Another way you can check is by putting another sim card in and if its locked it will tell you.

That code doesn't work for me either, Latest stock update for BTU CSC. Just sits there with a random code in the dialer screen

It worked before, last few updates it isnt working. Maybe its something to do with how Samsung stops Voodoo sim unlock from working?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
Never used voodoo sim unlock and its not working for me either. Though the ROM I'm on has a tab to check easily but all the same... the dialer code isn't working
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
I dont have to use voodoo sim unlock because i bought mine full price from Samsung, unbranded but i would still like to be able to use dialer codes... Basically their latest updates reverse the unlock process by resetting the hex in the NV_data.bin every hour :/ but mine is permanently unlocked by Samsung!

try installing the omega 12 rom, as it has sim unlocking built in
The *#7465625# does not work on the Galaxy S3 anymore. That was the case for me and for everyone reporting here. I was able to get the same screen ans figure out my S3 was locked by using the app "SGS Secret Codes", which is available on the Play Store.
Does anyone know a way of figuring out which particular network the device is locked to? I just bought an S3 which was supposed to be unclocked bu it is not, and to unlock it I need to know which carrier it is locked to.

This may be a problem with your SIM reader. If you still have a valid warranty, then send it to Service centre.
If not, then we can try few things first before trying hardware repair.

Might be hardware problem. Go to some shop that really does repair hardware and check your device.

Hi,
did you try cleaning the sim card with a dry cloth? also try cleaning the simm slot with a clean, dry brush (paintbrush, toothbrush) that does not have any lint/ garbage in it.

did you find out what the technician fixed? was it hardware or software?
I fix This Problem free
First of all without sim call ememgency number 112
if during the cell shutdown change the bettry.
then change setting.
I had the same problem too. This worked for me:
1.Open your phone without sim
2a(Ice cream Sandwich):Then Go to the settings->more->mobile networks->Network mode or 2b(Gingerbread) Settings>Wireless and networks>Mobile networks>Network Mode
3:And change network mode to WCDMA only(this worked for me).
4:Insert your Sim and restart your phone
If "WCDMA only" doesn't work you can try "GSM" only.
Old thread but I hope someone else gets helped by this.
