[Q] List of power hungry apps?

I've being trying with a number of apps/widgets lately and have found some of them have a big impact on my power usage. I think we should make a list of these apps/widgets just so ppl are aware of these things.
I'm currently trying 3G watchdog and Time Widget. I felt having them impacted my battery, anyone else having the same issue?
If we could make a list here, that'd be great!
List:
- Advanced Task Killer (this made a HUGE difference to my battery usage).

In 3G Watchdog you can set the checking frequency of your usage, as default it is set to check every minute, i have changed mine to update to the maximum time @ 1 hour intervals [i think]
A good weather widget to use that doesnt kill the battery is beautiful widgets, well worth the £2 or whatever it costs in the market

[Q] battery life

Hi to all i wonder if i flash the stock 2.1 rom whit jit enabled will it make my battery life its not that i experience bad battery life but i really want to get the most out of it i see people getting 2 days or one complete day whit heavy usage what i normally do in week is to listen to music for like 5 hours and when i get home i got like 10% left or so :/

If you want the best battery life try a custom ROM that has been tweaked to improve the battery life and has all the junk apps removed, that will help. You could also try ann app like JuiceDefender which manages when data and other functions are enabled and save battery that way. Autokiller and Autorun manager can also be used to manage what apps are allowed to autorun or run in the background. You can also try the battery calibration trick of fully charging your phone, wiping battery stats, removing the battery then replug the phone and replace the battery and reboot which will show 88% and repeat until it reads 100%.
There are a lot of tricks out there to improve battery life but everyone has different needs or uses for their phone so remember not everything that works for someone will necessarily give you the best results.

If I (or anyone for that matter!) help you, dont be afraid to press THANKS!
Thanks for the reply i have been trying many many custom roms the best one i found for battery life is freex10 i will try the charging trick for sure and for atk i already got i just truly wish to make my phone last as long as possible but sometimes its only the rom i guess :/

I noticed that my phone does that when I am in a weak service area. The radios use a lot of juice trying to get/keep a signal. You could try Better Battery Stats or Bad Ass Battery Monitor to see in more detail what is using your battery.

you can also try to calibrate your battery with serval apps! type in play store : battery calibration ! they all do the same job and preaty good i must say..
i recommend you to try : Battery Calibration free . thats for rooted users and does great job!
Alright Thanks
I sorta realised it was due to my connection as my school has a really bad reception and thats where teh majority ofteh drain occurred will download that app
My personal experience!!!!! Flame me not!!!!!!
Ok here goes:
I don't use any battery calibration apps or system tuner or task killer any more. I test my battery like I test my gas mileage: ALL THE FRIGGIN' TIME!
I've found I get better battery life without these extra apps. However, I also completely strip all ROM's I use of completely unnecessary apps and their respective widgets (HTC News, HTC News and Weather, Jetset Printer, Stocks, Twitter, Picasa, Google +, etc.)
Now, the only app I would recommend and have heard from multiple sources and threads is Better Battery Stats. It has a nominal fee, however, is worth it. I will show you what is draining your battery.
You could also have wake lock problems. Who knows? Get some diagnostic info to post to better help those trying to help you. Help me, to help you! LOL!

Flame on! Just kidding. I also have never calibrated my battery as it is useless according to the Android engineers at Google.
The reason I also recommend Bad Ass Battery Monitor is because it is a little more user friendly.
Also, there is an xda version of Better Battery Stats that is available in these forums for free, although the Market version is cheap and supports the dev.

i have some problem, when my screen active, i put it to my pocket, then my body touch the screen and do random process abaout 45minutes.. done with 40% battery gone x_X.. i think u must tell us how long u use app
You can use battery calibration. you can find it in the android market
Have you tried reset battery stats then full charge, use it for a couple of minutes then full charge again? Don't know why it works but I have used this method on a couple of Roms and it seems to help
try clearing your battery stats full charge ur battery n then let it discharge fully then full charge once more n recalibrate it..should work
The main factor for preventing battery drains is to have a good modem that doesn't overheats the phone, using a ROM with deep sleep and a battery friendly kennel like Siyah or Fluxxi. Try to get those three things fixed and you should not have any more battery drains
Turn auto brightness off also make sure none of your apps are using your GPS all the time. I think the problem may be app related I would roll to a stock kernel and only use apps that are must need and see if that helps. Also your battery could be shot . How old is it ?

Downloaded badass battery monitor and it showed mediaserver was wasting my battery, so I got rid of any possible corrupted media, problem solved for now

Need a ROM with powerfull Battery life

Hi guys,
I am know on a stock rom and I hate mt phone because of my battery life. My battery is going to 50% when the clock hit 16:00, and I dont use the phone so much.
Which ROM with kernel can give me a boost for the battery? And ofcourse the phone must also be smooth
Thanks..
THE RULES.
All kinds of Best Rom/Kernel/etc threads are unwelcome, read, research and make your own mind up, as the question is very subjective.

We can't really tell you, you got to start reading and try it yourself. Because the way how we all use our phone is different.

Your bad battery life can be because of many things. If you have things like Facebook, Google+ auto syncing, constantly polling the internet for new data, that can certainly destroy your battery life. Push e-mail can also be a big battery thief. So start out by going through your settings for sync and disable everything for a day or two - just to test out if your battery life is better without apps auto-syncing.
A good tool for finding out about what is eating away your battery life is the app Better Battery Stats, find it here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.asksven.betterbatterystats
The most interesting section in Better Battery Stats is usually "partial wakelocks". Install the app, charge your phone fully, unplug it and use it normally, letting Better Battery Stats collect data about your device. In the evening, check for "partial wakelocks since unplugged" and share screenshots of that window here on XDA.
This would be a good start for you! Let me know if I can do anything to help you further!

[Q] Battery Monitor

I want to install a battery monitor app so I can keep track on which apps is using battery, if so does it uses more battery?
Also which is the best battery monitor app? BetterBatteryStats or GSam Battery Monitor
I use betterbattery and it's pretty good. you get to see all the processes as well as what apps are waking your phone.
of course, it does not use any significant battery.
heard about the gsam, but didn't try it myself.
battery
i don't know if it helps, but instead of installing another app. use the built-in battery monitor, it tells you the percentage of battery that each app/process uses...including display. one less app to run/install

Ive used both. Betterbatterystats is better in my opinion.
That in combination with the stock is a good indicator of whats eating your battery.
I never noticed any additional drain in battery with it installed
