[Q] Can not call/receive calls - Legend Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hallo
I have a problem.
I have Legend CM 7.2.0 RC1.
It happends that I can not call anyone and nobody can not call me.
When I try to call, my Legend does not connect to the call, and when I receive a call, my Legend does not make anything (not ringing, nothing on display), but who calls me is hearing that it's ringing.
When I reboot the phone, everything goes to normal.
What should I do?
Thanks

Did you have the same issues before using that particular ROM?
Yes -> hardware defect
If not, which is probably the case -> make nandroid and/or Titanium backup of your apps. Wipe partitions in recovery, reinstall ROM and try. (and then of course resync your accounts and restore the needed stuff from Titanium)

before rooting i had no problem.
i will tre te flash again cyanogenmod.
i'll keep you in touch
thanks

Like Dawhe said it is most likely a hardware defect, the CM 7.2 rom shouldnt cause that type of problem but I may be wrong.

Now I have a ROM based on Froyo, and untill now, everything works.
I will monitor for a few days.
If everything goes ok, should I MOD my phone with Cyanogen 7.1, or 7.2?
Or better should I remain on Froyo?
Thanks,
Jarco

Cyanogen 7.1 is highly recommended

what i don't like to the cyanogen is the missing htc widgets ( message, mail, to do list and calender). is there a way to instal those widgets on cyanogen?

Nope. Sense only. You could seek alternative widgets on the Market, or use LauncherPro Plus, which have similarly styled ones, to a limited quantity.
Edit: I meant to say Play Store instead.

Yeah, you will need to download launchers that have their own dedicated Widgets.

You could use a rom with sense:

I tried a stock based ROM for a few days, and did not have problems with calling.
I'll try now ExtremeLegendFuseâ„¢2|CustomCM7 to see what will happen

I don't know what's happening.
I got the same problem like on CM 7.2.
I thing my Legend does not like CM

Hmmmh,
Have you wiped the caches? Try the advanced options in cwm. Maybe this helps.
Sent from my Legend using XDA

I don't know what can be.
I would like to format the drives.
Which one from those can I safely format?
-boot
-system
-cache
-data
-sdcard
-sd-ext
To restore everything, I would just update with another ROM.
Thanks,
Jarco

I formated everything now, but no boot format.
Could AGPS Fix for CM 7.2 make me those problems?
I allways installed this aplication too, but wondering if from this can be the problem.
I try LEgendfuse 2 without AGPS Fix and see what will happen

Legendfuse 2 not working ok.
I tried blay0 ROM based on Froyo, this is not working.
My phone restarts when I make a voicecall. Not allways, but it's happening.
I'll try the unrooted official rom.
I don't know what to do? What can be wrong?
You can doo so much things with a phone, but you can not make calls.
this is the worst phone I ever had. I'll better buy an 13 Years old Nokia 5110, this would shure work to make calls

I format again \System and installed just blay0 ROM based on Froyo, without any aplication, just stock.
Now it works. I want to see how it works.
I hope it is the Problem from one of previosly installed aplications

Gingerbread flash error (CyanogenMOD 7.0.0 RC1 Gingerbread NIGHTLY for the Droid Eris

Hi! I just flashed CyanogenMOD 7.0.0 RC1 Gingerbread NIGHTLY for the Droid Eris
(Thanks for the ROM !)
But I am having problems with restoring my apps. All the apps says "Download unsuccesful."
Anyone having the same problem?
I had that happen with a few of my apps when I upgraded... I went in the market and they were all listed under my apps so I had to click install manually
Another time I had 2 hang forever at installing and a reboot fixed it.
Hope it helps!
I have always found it best to manage my own apps and not trust Google backup.
I just save the the apks to a folder and reinstall them. (This is also nice for having a variety of apps on hand to choose from and not be taking up space or relying on a data connection. And for archiving things you might forget about.)
Going from 2.2 to 2.3, there are a few idiosyncrasies with restoring data.
If I must have app data saved, I use Titanium Backup, but sparingly; user dictionary, wifi passwords, bookmarks, note everything. That's about it.

Yes, I believe that if you read through the GSB thread in total you will find it is a very common problem. It happened with me as well with 1.2. Each of these installs had a notification; I just clicked them, reinstalled from there, and all was set.
I had this issue for a few apps. Going through manually fixed the issue. Sadly, the keyboard app I was used to using wasn't compatible with Gingerbread, and GPS was flaky, so I switched back to Froyo.
On 1.5 is anyone else having issues with videos from the gallery and YouTube not playing from time to time? Have to reboot to get it back working.

[Q] Best ROM?

I was wondering what the best rom is for the Eris? I am currently running xtrsence. No complaints on current rom, just wanted to know if there is a better one out there.

Totally personal preference. Lots and lots of great ROMs built by some very talented and dedicated developers.
Take advantage of your ability to do Nandroid backups and restores and try several out. You'll learn a ton and still be able to restore back to your last setup in just a few minutes.
Cheers!
What is the easiest way to restore your apps to a new rom? Titanium? I have already done a nandroid backup before I installed xtr, do I need to do another or just backup current rom?
I use My Backup Pro, most people seem to like Titanium Backup better but I'm not sure what the difference is between the 2. This is my own personal preference but for a rom I would either suggest Workshed's GB Rom, or Tazz's Gingerbread Rom. I'm running Tazz's rom myself and it's flawless, Tried out Workshed's rom too and it runs just as smooth.
Is it version 26 for the tazz gingerbread rom, or do you have a link for it?

I'm still kinda new to rooting, roms, etc. but I've been using kaosfroyo v39 for a week or two and love it. I tried LauncherPro and the phone operates much faster and smoother than it ever did with Sense.
I am thinking about trying a gingerbread rom, though. Any suggestions?

This is in response to the inquiry about how to backup and restore your apps from one ROM to another freshly flashed ROM. I use My Backup, too. I've used both that and Titanium Backup a lot and in my experience, TB is just not as reliable. Some apps would get restored but not the app's settings. Not talking about system apps, just regular apps. Personally, that was at least half the reason I wanted to restore the backups, so I wouldn't have to configure my apps from scratch again.
I have tried going back and forth between the two backup apps every once and a while after many version updates to TB, but I always found reason enough to go back to My Backup. Up to perhaps several months ago, My Backup was a lot slower than TB due to My Backup zipping the backup, but it was more reliable so I still used it. They've sped it up quite a bit now, though, so now it's no contest in my mind.
There really is no single best ROM, it's a lot of personal preference and what you lllike to have in a ROM. I personally love GSB because not only is it the latest version of Android available, but it's totally stable after just a handful of releases, helps a lot with battery life, and is extremely smooth and fast.

That's interesting, as a long time ago I has purchased a license for MyBackup Pro - months before I rooted, I think - but had long ago stopped using it. However, I decided to try it again with CELB a couple of weeks ago, and tried using it to reinstall all of my apps and data in GSB (I chose not to sign in to Google at the initial setup so I could install my apps myself, rather than wait for the to sync, when I installed 1.3).
Anyway, after the restore was done, it turned out that MBP had skipped several apps, without any sort of notification why. I then used TB to restore the missing apps.
This may have been an anomaly, and I'd like to try it again, but for now I have both apps firing off while I'm sleeping.

I actually just had my first problem ever with MBP. I flashed to one of the GB themes yesterday and when I used MBP to restore my apps it restored all of them. The problem with this is that I only checked the box for about 5 or 6 of them to install and installed all 25 of them lol.
I can't seem to find workshed roms. Any suggestions?

Help please, HTC desire doing weird things.

Hello everyone,
I have major problems with my htc desire. It was running on cyanogen mod 7 then all of a sudden it started going very slow, the animation and application were very very slow. Also, the phone seemed like to freeze because the hour would stop running thus being late. And the worse, at some point the phone just goes off and restart, also very slowly.
Oh and I forgot, when it goes suddenly slow and I touch it,it vibrates.
Here it is, I tried to change the rom several times and now I am on leedroid 2.5 but it still has the same problem.
Does anyone know what to do ?
Thank you very much
Flash different kernel, try to clear cache, may be an issue on your Rom too
Accidentally sent from my Google Nexus S using XDA Premium
Where can I find kernels ? And can I use any ones with the leedroid 2.5 rom ?
Depends on the kernel.go to your desire development zone, search for thread started with [kernel]
Accidentally sent from my Google Nexus S using XDA Premium
And how exactly can I change the kernel please ? Do I just flash it ?
Yes, you just flash it in recovery like you would flash a ROM. But make sure you use a kernel that is compatible with AOSP.
Well I flashed this one kernel-bravo-2.6.32.38-leedroid-110416 but I still have the same problem...
Have you tried flashing to stock and testing if issue persists? Basically if it isnt the ROM, kernel, or a non-stock app, (one you installed) it's a hardware issue.
Can also try to see whats causing the slowdown either with a process or memory manager.
A little possibility that your apps make these weird things:
Try to think what have you installed before this.

Munjeni CM9

I tried using the latest gapps from goo.im/gapps on Munjeni's CM9 rom and was getting boot loops.
I used th gapps-ics-tiny.zip and was able to boot but calendar does not sync. Doesn't even give me the option for calendar under "Accounts and Sync."
Any else having this problem?
Use the Google apps in the Winsuk thread:

Here's hoping the camera and GPS can be worked out soon.

Wallpaper size
I am posting this here because I am not eligible to post on the development site.
I have noticed that all versions of the CM9 ROM have built-in wallpapers that are not properly sized for the Aria. The wallpaper that loads first time it the right size, but once another is loaded, they all appear too big, and you can't go back to the stock ICS wallpaper without reloading the ROM.
Am I missing something?
And please note: I am not complaining. The Aria/CM9 team -- notably WinSuk and Munjeni -- have done a fantastic job and great service for the Aria network.
I decided to give this ICS ROM a try for fun today...after someone mentioned to me that the Captivate and Aria (as old devices) both have ICS.
It seems like it should work fine...for the most part...as an everyday device. As long as you can deal with having no working camera or GPS.
I didn't actually slip my sim card in...since it's not currently my main phone.
Battery?
Hey guys,
Im on winsuks latest cm9. it works great for me except my batter lasts about half the time it lasted with cm7. Does anyone know if munjeni's cm9 is any easier on the battery?
I didn't try WinSuk's ROM yet, I'm running munjeni's ROM as a daily driver. In the build from 27.4., camera and GPS are working; I'm trying now the deodexed built munjeni posted today and see if it works better.

Yes i had the same issue, run "fix permissions" in rom manager, i tried that option in cwm and it did not work. I am back on cm7 because for some reason i wasnt able to receive calls, i was able to make calls, send and receive messages etc...
fix permissions did not help. however I was able to get s2e to work by using superSU from the play store.
Haven't tested out calling/messaging yet
call and messaging send/receiving also seems to work for me.

[Q] Change stable Rom, keep game saves and few questions

Hello!
I am currently on HD revolution but I really want to change since the wifi isn't working because my chipset is not compatible with the revolution software version. Since I am here I might aswell ask you guys what would be one of the best stable rom? I know it's a question that has been asked a lot but I tried a lot of roms (energy, viper, cyanogen, hd revolution, speedrom) and there was always something not working properly on either one of these (crash, camera, htc sync not working, no internet pas through ect..). Just let me know if there is actually a rom that is almost perfectly stable.
Also, I want to change Rom but I can't really because I am far on 2 games (Symphony of the Origin, Majora Mask) and I don't want to lose all the progress I've made so far. Is there a way to backup not the rom, but the save files? This is my main concern actually and also, if I make a backup on 4ext and format after and put another rom, does going into my backup files allows me to go to my old rom exactly the way it was with every apps and stuffs?
Thanks!!
