Otterbox Defender question - HTC Rezound

Ive had OB defender on my Rezound since I got it and ever since my wife has told me I sound muffled with the case one but once I remove the bottom part of the silicone she says I sound better. I've tried drilled a bigger hole for the mic but doesnt seem to have helped it. Anyone one know how to fix this issue. thanks

I have the defender, commuter, and the trident kraken, and the only one I sounded muffled on is the kraken, but cleaning up the hole took care of the issue for me.
Just tested the defender with my wife and no issues with voice muffling.

I have had the defender on my phone for about a month and noone has told me I sound muffled. Some have reported it as a phone issue if I am not mistaken. Never had the problem , but doubt it is just the case.

please let me ask you, Do you also have the annoying noises while you speak with someone in your x10 phone i mean the other person hear noises when you move your finger on the back of your phone..
cause the x10 speaker is so sensitive everytime i scrath the back of it the other person hear it like a wind noise but very loud while you dont hear nothing??? those pepoles ever said to you that the heard some noises like wind or something while you tooked?? thanks its important for me to know...

Yes. All the time.
there is no way to fix it??
i have now commuter otterbox case but its not helping the noises cause it made of plastic and plastic make noises... like scratch
i recommend for all of you to buy a gel silicone case you know the cheapest case they made of silicone and rubber so no matter how much you move your finger at the back of the phone the other person dont hear nothing!! cause silicone dosent make any noises!! believe me
you can buy it on ebay for like 2-3 USD!-just search for TPU GEL CASE...

I got the red. I already have the blue combo. I thought the blue looked good. But, damn, this red one. Holy hell it's sexy.
When you get it, would you mind sharing a pic of the screen without the clip cradle? Appreciate it.

If you want an idea of the true color of it, it's very similar to the red accents on the phone. It's just like a matte shimmer, if that makes sense. It looks even better in person, trust me.
EDIT: Oh, and korm, the color is a little darker than our beloved Scarlet, but it looks awesome with a big Double T on the screen

Haha.. That's really all that matters to me. It looks sweet. How's the size and feel? It's not too big is it?

I wouldn't say big at all. If you've used the Otterbox Commuter before, it's essentially the same size, just a little more protection. And it hugs the phone reeeeaally well. When I got the blue one, I thought the whole 6-prong thing would cause issues and stretch out. But the plastic is extremely strong and the rubber is thin, but super-high quality. I had to take the blue one off a bunch for battery pulls with all of the flashing I've done in the past few weeks. I was afraid it would start to stretch, but it was perfect every time. I expect nothing less from this red one. It's nice. Probably the first case I would say is actually worth the $30. Don't hesitate; just get it. It's worth it
Has anyone noticed the case does not have those 2 tiny holes in the back of the case? They would be just above the S on the back. Im told those 2 tiny holes in the back cover are for the phones antenna, it is said to help the reception.
Has your reception gone down? Check your -db with the cover on verses off.
that is the only thing I am concerned about, reception is -97db here at the house, yup pretty poor but I dont get any dropped calls, hopefully the cover wont cause problems

Blocking those holes does nothing to signal. It's all good. Same thing was asked about the Commuter case from Otterbox. You would essentially cover those holes anyway if you hold your phone when you talk.

Im Glad to here that. I noticed the Incipio has those holes in there case.
Thanks

Just got mine and put it on. Looks 5 stars! Feel, so far 4 stars, which is pretty good since I never use a case. It's surprisingly thin..... I may change my mind when I'm sober, but very impressed..... Sound, 1star, my creeks like a MoFo. I was hoping the case would relieve me of creeks, not amplify them. Hopefully I installed it wrong. Anyone else getting creeks?
KORM via the beast known as the Rezound.
No creeks here, all is good for me
its looks like a glossy finish on the ones I'm seeing in this thread and on seidos site can anyone confirm??

I think this case looks really nice, but I'm concerned about those LTE holes that are covered on the back. I would think that HTC placed those holes there for a reason, and other cases do not block them. Hmm, trying to decide between this case and the Incipio.

Review: OtterBox Defender

It's an amazing case. I like it, except the belt clip has failed after 1 month of use.
Here's a photo of the point of failure. I took the phone out which is usually just clipped on just bit past the side of my hip near the back. And it came out with ease, and upon inspection the clip cracked.

Apparently I can't post the photos in the thread as I am a long time lurker, with 0 posts.
I've emailed Otterbox via their form on their website, and I'll let you know of my experience with them.

I just got a response immediately ~10mins of sending the email. Requesting proof of ownership. Basically a photo of the case on sheet of paper with my name, and today's date. I complied and emailed the photo back to them.

That's great the otter box has great support like that! I will be purchasing a defender once I get my evo. Thanks for info!
Anyone in contruction use this case? Im a painter and am around a TOn of dust and such all day. Ive been using a plastic baggie for years to put my phone. Getting a little old LOL. Just wondering if there are alot of access point for dust to get inside? [email protected]
I are in commercial construction and i get a little dust around the the kickstand and speaker opening and cam lens but easy enough to wipe that off. My case keeps the rest looking brand new

I'm a stone mason, I cut stone on a regular basis....I take my 16 part Defender case off about every other day and clean the dust off of it. So I would say that it doesn't do great, but it doesn't suck in this department either.
I also use my holster because I'm just not a fan of putting this giant case/phone in my pocket, but the problem with that is that if you turn it screen out, well obviously that's just bad....if you turn it screen in, your camera is wide open - I usually end up using a q-tip or a shirt on the end of pen or something to clean the dust off of it.
I'm actually looking for some type of rubber plug of some sort to go over the camera on this defender case - no luck yet.
Overall though, I've dropped this phone in the defender a bunch of times on the worksite - nothing bad yet.

I'm a mechanic and I work on a lot of dirty cars, and on the weekends when I switch to my tpu case there is very little dirt inside the case. The only place I worry about is the speaker, but no case is gonna cover that.

one problem i have with this case is the lil rubber flap that goes over the charge port.. it keep wearing down from opening it and closing it.. after a few months it just falls off.. they already sent me a new outter layer and it just happen again!!! kinda sux... i kno they will send another one put it just a pain in the a$$.. i mite just deal with it being off.. i work around dust sometimes but i put my phone in my backpack anyways..
I gave up on my Otterbox cause of that flap. I finally went with a screen protector and TPU case and I'll probably never go bad to a thick case again. Going thin bought a new found joy in my phone. Also that screen protector on the defender was horrible. I totally forgot how beautiful my screen looks without that horrible screen protector.

ima have to check up that tpu case.. i here alot of good things about that case.. does it come with a belt clip??
I used to use a TPU case and the invisishield HD screen protector. Was a great combo up until I noticed the bottom left corner of aluminum was bent. I was able to straighten it out and just recently ordered the OtterBox Defender and despite the extra bulk I am still happy with it.
I just contacted otterbox for another case replacement today. I have ran thru 3 cases and 2 clips now since June. The little dust flap for the charger port snapped off just from normal use charging once a day at nighttime. Still love the case and am definitely getting my $ worth.

I wanted to get another different branded tough case - but I hate that most others use that fake kickstand and cover the actual one.

Rezound build quality issues...?

Umm, so on the left spine of my phone about halfway up my phone if i push in, the plastic frame flexes, and every time I pick it up, im like WTF is this?
Is this on every rezound?
Its not a huge flex.. but its noticeable that some part is not fitting tight... and this phone is 5 days old, never been dropped..
The only thing i can think is to put a case on it, and it will tighten up that flex....
Anyone else..
feel around the exterior of your phone and see if you get any creaks.
Relax the Kung Fu Grip, and you'll be happier with it (and it will be happier, too).
:good:
I think it's just the way the phone is. I actually got VZW to send me a free replacement cover because of all the insane creaking and it fixed it for like a month now the replacement cover is creaking like mad too. I also bought a 2nd used rezound that came with an extended battery so I now have 3 original back covers and 1 extended. All of them creak like crazy on both rezounds.
But... I always have the phone in a case so I can't actually squeeze it hard enough for it to creak so I've let it slide. This may explain why the back isn't removable on the One series heh.
Thanks for confirming that its not just my phone...
Im gonna slap the verizon high gloss silicone case on it and call it a day.. That should sturdy it up.
I know it made a difference on my DINC.
Thanks!

I know a TPU is a TPU,, but in my experience, my DINC case stayed solid and tight for the year I had it..
I dont mind paying 15.00 for quality.
I just looked up Cruzerlite... they have 2 patterns... I dont want a pattern on my case...

Seidio OBEX

So I've had two of these cases now. The first one I sent back because I thought it was defective because it made a terrible echo and other audio problems while on a phone call. However, the second one does the same thing... So I think it has some serious design flaws. The top third of the screen protector sits a mm or two above the screen and requires a longer press and I think gives it space for audio to reverberate.
Anyone else have this case and experience the same issues?

I had several issues with mine right out the box and immediately returned it, I honestly can't remember what the problems were. There have been a lot of people who have bought them and then returned them shortly after. It's definitely the worst Seidio case that I have purchased.

Damnnnnn. I wonder what the return policy is going to be after an RMA. I totally agree though, I usually love Seidio.
Pretty much alot of people returned that case I had one and returned that garbage it leaked. And the 2nd one I got it had the speaker hole on the wrong side. So yea. I went with redpepper I'm satisfied
