Just exchanged my C2OK serial TP at Best Buy because of the bad WiFi battery drain and got the C3OK serial ATP. I also noticed that it does show GPS on the box. Did Asus remove the GPS from the box in the prior TP? I didn't check the C2 box if it showed GPS.

I don't think it even really matters anymore. as far as i know, every box still says GPS. could be wrong though.
I have a c2ok also. How do you know that it has a battery drain issue? it appears like the battery on mine dies faster than i think it should, but maybe i am just paranoid. what sort of symptoms did you see on the battery drain issue? what sort of life was bad enough to know you had a serious problem?
No GPS to be seen

Yeah i wasn't to sure because I didn't check the other TP I took back, and then I read somewhere in these forums that GPS was removed from the box, but never bothered to check.

After I got the .21 update, I noticed that I could no longer get the same 10 to 12 hours I was getting. At first when I got my TP I tested for a weekend and was able to go through the whole day basically almost none stop using the TP, and after the .21 update I was only getting 6 hours and that was pushing it. A few times it even drained on its own just sitting and me using it for about an hour.
I did some test and posted in the threads that I was able to narrow the drain to my home Linksys router. At work I have set up a Cisco router for the office use and I can go 8 hours with no problem. The .21 update might be trying to have the WiFi push more to connect and depends on WiFi routers, its causing more battery drain on the TP. This is just my case, can't say if this is happening with others.

Maybe Asus has improved the GPS and WiFi on the C3OK models and feel confident that the GPS and WiFi is much better.
I just tested the WiFi and it is way better than my C2O was. On the C2O, my signal was in the -79db and in the same place and same router with the C3OK model, it is from -58 to -61. This is nice. For some reason the back of this transformer prime feels much thinner than the previous version. When you tap the back it feels much thinner by the sound. Maybe its just me.

tf201 just update to .13 and now I am not seeing that the key board is transfering power to the tablet. prior to the update this morning I did not have this issue. anyone else have this issue?

I am obligated to ask you this question...
Are you absolutely certain that your keyboard dock has a significant amount of battery, thus enough to charge or "transfer" its power to your TFP?
Mine is not having this issue, nor has it ever.
Always witnessing the arrow symbols indicating transfer.
Sent from the last remaining Prime; Leader of the Autopads.
It had 55% at the tim. About 10 minuteslater it started the transfer.

im confused. how is this not normal? After the tablet drops below 70%, the dock charges it up to (nearly) 95ish %. Then it drains again, and the dock charges it again...?
Are you getting something different or weird?
The power transfer behaivior on my prime TF201 changed when I went from HC to ICS .13. From what I can tell currently the dock supplies all the power and will drain down to 1% prior to having the main battery in the tablet drop below 92%. Prior to the update they would both drain down at the same time with the dock running ~10% lower than the tablet.
This might be tablet version specific as the B1 serial number tbalet that I had prior to it bricking with the ICS update would drain the tablet first then the dock. I exchanged my tablet and now have a C1 series serial number. I dont know if this helps

I think you didn't know how your tablet worked in the first place. This is the way my tablet has worked from day 1 with HC and with ICS. The tablet gets down to around 70% and the keyboard dock recharges it. In fact there are 5 or 6 threads already out on this forum about this topic. If your tablet is working as described here now, then your tablet and dock are working as intended.

Hi boys and girls!
I bought a TFP (with sn: C3O) less than a week ago from NetOnNet in Sweden. I'm loving it! Damn what a piece of hardware . But I did notice one thing. The only problem I had with it. When docked and sleeping, the battery would drain insanely fast!!
I found that many ppl pointed at the option; "Stay Awake - Screen never sleeps while charging". But making sure that it's unticked doesn't seem to be enough. After digging some more online. I found that ticking it and then unticking it again made all the difference! . And it did for me too!
I went from losing (not actual numbers) 12% battery/hour to losing only 0,2%/hour. Hope this info helps. And if it does, spread the word! .
Edit: I polished the numbers abit. My Prime is crazy efficient nowadays, and have been ever since the fix . I just wanna add that you MAY have to redo the fix after installing a new firmware.
I'm sorry but where exactly is this stay awake option?

im still quite new to the tablet, can i just confirm that people are seeing this drain when the tablet is shutdown with a battery below 70%?
or is this happening when the tablet is left on and the dock is just emptying?

Yes, below 70% the dock kicks in and drains to 0% or something like 30%.
I think that depend on how low the tablet was and I think the dock stops charching the tablet when it has reached around 90%?
Shis really sucks, I would like to be able to stop the dock to auto-charge. That way I would be able to keep battery levels identical as when undocked and the tablet should only be charged when it's docked and in use.
Will this option ever be possible in stock or custom rom? Or is this "hardware-coded"?

For me the problem existed because the setting, Stay Awake, was "stuck". Which means that when the dock is connected to the tablet. The tablet thought that it was being charged, so it stayed awake. Using up lots of battery 24/7. Even when it was just idle/locked. And when the battery in the tablet dropped below 70% then the dock started charging it.
Problem is that since the tablet was using up lots of power, the docks power got drained. Cause it never managed to get the tablets power to 90%. At 90% it would've stopped charging it til the tablets power would've dropped below 70% again. Whew. Hope this answers your question .
I'm thinking that you could have the tablet and dock connected but instead of having them idle/locked you could turn them off completely. Should work. But that's not very practical now is it? =/.
Thanks will try this out!

I believe there is an option in the dock settings to change what percentage it starts to charge the tablet I'm not positive though because I don't have my prime in front of me but do remember seeing something about it.
Again I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure you can change it.

Me neither..that's the main reason I asked
But...stilll..... it could solve all my (and many others) dock-drain-problems
Amazing. Just when I've got enough stuff turned off that the phone is only ten or fifteen degrees above room temp, it turns out that it's not charging anyway.
Right now the only way my phone will charge is if I turn it off.
Maybe this is because I took the leak and went back to GB. I was convinced that all the power being lost to heat was the reason it wouldn't charge. Now, not so much.
I have pretty much everything turned off, and the phone's not actually using any juice. But it still isn't taking power unless I actually shut the device off.
The next leak can't get here soon enough. And I wish I meant that in a much better way.
Right now I'm glad I'm not one of those people who remembers every day of their life. Because I can't wait to forget the day I ruined my perfectly good Rezound with that leak.

Maybe it's just a bad phone ? Sure alot of people seem to be having some heat and battery issues, but just as many do not. There are so many variables between phones, unfortunately you probably got a borderline phone which can't tolerate the new software .
It sounds like you have a lot more issues than the leak is causing. The battery life complaint I could see. I've upgraded thirty phones and had two that had a decrease in battery life and this seems to be about normal for what I see on the forums. But the charging issue, that's a different story. I don't think the next leak is going to repair that any more than flashing the leaked RUU again would, but that might be what your phone needs.
It sounds like you think the leaked firmware has mucked up your charging.
What voltage/battery are you using?
Do you have another around that you can test?
When it is charging does it say USB or AC?
It might be better in the long run to see if Vzw will give you a refurb.
I have the big HTC battery, about 2.8 Amps. When charging, it always says USB, even when the USB is plugged into a wall adapter.
And yes, I didn't have these problems when I ran the GB release, but I also know that restoring my GB apparently did not restore all files. For example, I had to replace my WiFi module from another package in order to get rid of the WiFi error.
If you are within warranty I would call up HTC parts and accessories and explain your charging issue. I think they will be willing to send you a replacement battery to see if it fixes your issue. Some or many have had issues with the 3.8v batteries, when I rma'd mine they sent me a 3.7v. It is relatively quick and painless.... unlike sending it to PCD repair.
*hmm maybe you consider the "big HTC battery" the extended battery; my extended is 3.7v and stock replacement is 3.7v for reference.

Running stock ? Otherwise it would be smarter to run a replacement on stock for a week or so to verify the hardware is working properly.seems like a lot of quality issues with the resound that is being blamed on the leaks without making sure its a good phone to start with.

I've been able to get about 12-15 hours of battery life with some pretty intensive gaming. you should probably get it replaced for another prime.
Crap well I can't imagine it could be anything else other then bad batt
Sent from my Transformer Prime TF201 using XDA Premium HD app
I get the same after the last .21 update. Can you look into you batt stats? Mine shows 60+% for wifi usage.
Ya mine Is normally a little less around 44%
Even if I turn my wifi off every time I turn my screen off I get the same amount, less then 7 hours before it dies. Are you getting more even with the new update and the wifi ussage being higher?
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA
Hi, what I have noticed is that on my Prime the battery is very good, 5-10-% drop in 8-10 hours of minimal use, but if I keep it in the dock, it sucks up battery. I found it is much better without the dock. Can anyone test the same thing? I might need to see if I can get the dock replaced and see if there is a difference.
Well after replacing my Dock my issue was fixed, so it can be a hardware issue as well. I also had some stability issues and I resorted to a Factory reset and this is also better now. So now my Prime is almost what it says on the box
Try a factory reset? It can solve all kinds of annoying bugs that might prevent a process from ending properly which may eat up battery life.
Mother fer
So I just spent the last three weeks getting my prime warrentied. They said they replaced the battery and I just did a hard reset and charged it upper all night then ran it today. Nothing special just internet stuff and I have 20% left and screen only on 4.5 hours and the wifi is at 5.3 hours. What the hell could be wrong with this Pyle?
Sent from my Transformer Prime TF201 using XDA Premium HD app
get cpu spy from the market...and check if your prime has been able to go to deep sleep...getting wifi off with screen off does not necessarily improve battery life...rather your device should be in deep sleep mode when screen is off...
if it fails to go to deep sleep and shows continously as awake or running at 102 mhz...try removing some apps which constantly run in the background...
Yeah, I'm getting the same -- about six hours of screen-on time.
Are there really people getting 10+ hours (of *screen time*) on their Primes after the .21 update? I've read in other threads that a lot of people have seen definite drops in battery life after the update, with increased wifi usage/power suspected as being the culprit.
I've only had my Prime for a few weeks and upgraded straight away, so I have nothing to compare it to. But I'd love to hear from people getting over eight hours of usage. Then I'll definitely go with a factory reset.
Ya did that right after I got it back and its sleeping just fine. Maybe it is just that after .21 the wifi sucks the power out of this thing?
Sent from my Transformer Prime TF201 using XDA Premium HD app
Yeah, is possible to get 10 hours+ screen time... with wifi off. Making it turn off when screen off does nothing, cause it actually uses no power while it is in idle mode.
Its when the damn thing starts transferring data when it sucks the battery up.
Just about a week ago, I noticed my Prime's battery wouldn't charge above 74%. Sometimes it reads 63% and won't charge any further. The keyboard can go to 100% but prime stays at 74%. I have drained the battery fully, but it still only goes to 74%. I'll be doing an RMA for my prime in a few days (wifi, camera, mura).
Is this software or hardware? Should I just add that as a problem alongside the wifi, camera and mura? Thanks.

What did they repair in order for the tablet to charge correctly? Before I had mine sent in for repairs due to an accidental brick; mine had also been showing some inconsistent battery readings. The tablet would show a certain percentage, but stay at that same percentage for about a minute, while it had eaten up about 3-5% from the dock before there were any noticeable changes in the tablet's overall charge.
AW: Transformer won't charge above certain battery %
Have you tried loading the Prime overnight while it is switched off? I do that from time to time, and until now it has always worked to get 100% charge back. Never could get completely rid of the problem though...
