So I unplugged my galaxy today and it keeps saying that my battery is Overvolt. Don't think this is a good thing. How would I go about fixing it? Ty

Did you try calibration???
Aye calibrated it this morning, let it fully discharge then change to 100%... It seemed to have worked but when my battery drained to 90% the Overvolt status came back

u got any other battery at hand u can test ?
i remember getting this from a faulty battery... with other crazy batt problems
go original and check, if ur phone is under warranty ASK for a new battery and u will get one free of charge if its a phone problem u will get a new phone if not then im sure someone went thru such a problem and could help more... just my experience with the same problem...
Nothing to do with battery. Seems your usb port is damaged or dirty. Pretty soon you'll start developing temperature sign on reboot as well as others.
Main thread for this is in general section where I and others had to replace usb port board although some were lucky and only needed cleaning.
All the best.
Btw, battery calibration has no effect on the GS2.

Yup its with the port, batt pins,or the batt is gone...the calibrating dosnt make sense cause lion batt has no memory....check wiv other battery or try a full reset...hope it helps or last way is sammy center....
Managed to fix it... The flat bit in the USb port was a bit bent. Straightened it up wi a wee flat head screwdriver and the Overvolt thing almost immediately went away. ****in yaas thanks y'all

Hey guys I'm getting some really slow battery charge over here. I've had my phone plugged in the OEM ac charger for over 3h now and it went from 5% to 50% and the phone is getting hot also. I haven't touched it at all for those 3h and data is off so no internet. I don't get it. It's usually fairly quick maybe 1 to 100 for about 2h.
Edit: I'm running capcomalpha with fraux kernel and stock battery.

The following suggestion may be of no help in your case, but I've experienced something like this as well, mainly with CWM that doesn't support off-charging. The phone will look like its charging but is actually drawing just enough energy to keep the phone alive. Also, the charging light will turn off after 15 mins or so. One way to ensure that your phone is getting charged adequately is to check the screen; if you see an ultra-dim screenshot of CWM then you'll have to periodically remove the charger and reinsert it "restart" the charge. Then try to boot into android to complete the charge.
The phone is on I rebooted it and it jumped from 55% to 68%

buy a new battery and wall charger so you can charge the battery outside the phone.

You bumped a thread that was still on the first page after only 7 1/2 hours? Please don't do that again, not that I agree with bumping threads, but it is for when something needs brought back to the first page, not while it is on the first page.
do your have a case on? the trapped heat is cause the phone to slow down charging. it is a safety feature. off the case and flip over when charging. it should charge faster.

The phone has no case and was on the table so i guess there was nothing to make it overheat. Sorry for the bad bump i guess i was just desperate.

What version of Recovery are you on and as you said your using faux kernel. Try to revert to stock recovery or stock kernel and see if there is a change or behavior of your phone. And try aand see if fastboot is check on your power under settings..
you said it was hot. maybe you have some app in background using cpu. hence power drain and overheating.
Sent from my HTC_Amaze_4G using xda premium
Ok i swithed to stock kernel and its doing the same thing. I reflashed the rom and didnt install any apps to see if thats the case. I also noticed ita doing it only when the battery is low- 10% or less. Then the phone heats up and its barely charging. If its above 50% it charges fairly quckly and doesnt heat up. Ill see how stock kernel does tonight and report back.

Ok 2 days with stock kernel then a new battery then a new charger... 3h chRging and not even 10% of charge... Im cluless

I have a strange problem with my Xperia s.
Charging used to take ages. But all of a sudden charging from 4% to 100% only takes around an hour. Really strange but I didn't mind since everything seemed to be fine.
But a few days ago I used my phone while charging and I noticed it "skips" while charging. Like, it's at 20% and suddenly says 40%.
Now when I use my phone, everything is okay till it goes down to 16%. It will say 1% and suddenly shut down. When I plug in the charger, it will start again at 17%.
I tried a software reset with seus and battery calibration, both things didn't help.
What could be causing this? What else could I try?

Now we are getting somewhere.
I am using the charger that came with my Xperia ray since I lost the Xperia s one. They have the same output (5 v / 1 a) so I thought it was fine.
Cable is the original s one.
I already tried wiping the battery stats, didn't help.

Probably your battery is ruined, and I'm saying it being careful. I also had problems with my original one, they started small but with time they grew up and I had to change it. For me didn't matter calibration or removing the battery, it just got worse every week.
Dear friend, who testing battery from china, is very big mAh. Can we use phone on this one. Battery life really will be a bigger or not ?

If you do a calibration and doesn't work, change the battery with one identical (from a friend with SGSII, dont buy it =) ) doesn't work too... maybe is the charge center from the phone and is damaged; if is it, take your phone to technical support...
I hope you have warranty, and take off al modified ROM's and Root's things.
hi,
For quite sometime I notice that at times when i put my phone to charge, the battery would be stuck at a particular % for quite sometime like for eg 50% for more than an hour. But when I restart my phone it would say it is fully charged. I dont really understand what happens. I am using slimcm on my sola. Any kind of help would be appreciated,

Hey
I have aproblem that is so strange!
For example when I turn off my mobile it restarts!
Even if I pull out the battery and put it in it just power on automatically! !
Sometimes if the phone successfully was turent off, when I press any button it indicates that it is charging!
And now the battery is full even though am using it for around 2hrs
So my question is: is it a phone hardware or battery issue?

mine was like that after moisture damage and then a wrong charger it gets ok after time, it started charging the battery to 5.00v instead of 4.2 n all, stop charging that battery at 95% for like 10 charges and it will come back to normal in no time

as i said it just went away after a while i think the problem is being caused by overcharge, so when u keep charging it to 95% the voltages come back to normal.
In other words charge it till 95% for like 10 charges and it will be fixed.
Well gonna try and reply back thanks
