[Q] X10 screen not responding to touch

GF facebooked messaged me last night after I tried to ring her, saying that since our last call, her phone had seemed frozen and wasn't responding to her touch. It was on the locked screen and she couldn't get it to work. Physical buttons worked ok.
I got her to reboot to xrecovery and clear caches, etc. No joy, got her to flash a new ROM, no joy.
So, what's likely to be wrong with it that suddenly, the whole screen goes pop?
Worst case, I guess I'm going to have to put a Sony ROM back on and ship it off to them.
Try flashing stock rom from sony or via flashtool or maybe your screen digitiser is broken you can buy one from ebay but its better to send it back of course.

Thanks, does anyone have a link to Stock Sony ROM?
What do I need to do to make it appear stock again?
It just seems weird that I rang her, spoke to her, then hung up and her phone froze and thats it. It's not like she dropped the phone or anything.

Blank screen during calls?

Hey all,
Got my phone back from repair two days ago(Screen replacement due to tint). Screen works fine 99% of the time, but whenever I receive(havent made any yet) a call the screen goes blank and cant be revived. This means I cant end a call After the other party hangs up the phone locks up for about 30s and then returns as if nothing ever happened.
Anyone else had this kind of problem? Search turned up nothing.
.76 TW, locked, unrooted(obv).
Thanks,
Scratch.
UPDATE: Quickbooting the cam bypasses it, so software issue it seems.

A 6.1.A.0.452 ECO Jun 19, 2012
The only FW, what does not give us the black screen after call. THIS IS annoying BUg, and it it in the lates .50 FW too.

[Q] xperia mini pro black screen, refuses to boot. help?

About a week ago, maybe less, my xperia mini pro (gingerbread) notification led stopped working even when charging the phone. Thinking it was a software problem, I decided to factory reset it. It didn't solve the problem and I decided to just move on with my life since it isn't that important to me. With a then totally "empty" phone i updated it to ice cream sandwich just for the heck of it. Everything went fine until today.
When I wanted to unlock my phone to check if I had a text message, all it showed was a backlit screen with black on it. The back and menu button also lit up. When somebody called, the ringtone would ring but the screen stayed black. Took the battery out to turn it off and tried to turn it on again. Same thing happened, tried it few more times but nothing changed so I gave up. It didn't even display the sony logo when turning on.
A few hours later, when I try to start it again, it vibrates for a short time, then shows a backlit screen with black on it. Then it goes dark and after a few seconds lights up again. This goes on as an endless loop.
I have tried the SEUS tool. It told me my phone was updated but i tried to reinstall ice cream sandwich anyway, but it failed. And everytime the screen would lit up, the computer would make the sound when a usb is inserted; and when it would turn dark again, the sound when a usb is removed could be heard.
As I can't get into the recovery mode or any other mode I am at a loss on what I can try next.
At first I thought it might be the flex that was the problem but now I'm not so sure anymore.
The FUNNY part is that it happened today, TWO days after the 1 year warranty ended.
What options do I have?
Hope anyone can help me.

Try flashing a stock Firmware using Flashtools(if you don´t know how look at Tutorials Section)
If it doesn´t help, then is a Hardware Problem
That's really hard that the warranty just ended. Maybe you could ask a local carrier if sony would be so nice to repair it under warranty because I think it is a hardware problem and if your bootloader is locked and you never rooted and tried some things, don't try to flash the stock rom first, better ask sony :good:
If they won't do it, flash stock gingerbread rom and try to boot it again. But as you tell it it's hardware related

I was hoping it isn't hardware related, but you're the 3rd person now who told me that it is. I never rooted or anything, so I'll just go to the sony service center then. Hopefully they'll be so nice to give a little extension of the warranty. Hahah.
Thank you for replying.
The solution is Getting Flashtool, installing ADB Drivers,Downloading stock Firmware and flashing.
But if you don't want to try,Taking it to SONY would be the solution.
If your warranty is over, then the service center guys charge a lot :crying:
Goodluck :good: And you could ask an experienced guy in your area to help you flash!
:good:
How is it that you have only a one-year varranty? The carrier varranty is usually one year only, that is true, but the manufacturer varranty, at least in Poland, is 2 years mandatory. And it's written in varranty papers included in the box
Double check before you pay
Take out your battery fir a while
Then try to install a proper kernel and flash a stock rom with flashtool

Those are the advantages of being in the EU, which made it mandatory to have 2 yrs of warranty (1 by builder 1by re-seller i think), that doesn't work outside
I had the exact same thing happen to me. It happened a couple of weeks after I upgraded it to the official ICS. First I thought it was a hardware problem since my phone had fallen the previous day. I decided to try and do a software repair via PC companion which didn't help.
So, further convinced that it was a hardware problem, I brought it to the shop where I got the phone (it was still under warranty). They simply downgraded the software to GB. Problem solved.

Hey, I'm having the same issue with my Xperia Neo (MT15i). :crying:
My phone is nearly 2 years old. I have used Gingerbread, then ICS, Jelly Bean (Rooted-Cyanagenmod). I had no issue with the touch screen earlier. Since the phone performs bit slow on advanced android versions I decided to install Gingerbread again to make it faster.
From the day I installed GB again, I'm having this issue.
Gotta swipe about 4 times to answer or reject a call. (Even I do press power button to off the screen, then power button again only then swipe works)
Swipe about 4 times to unlock the screen.
Try the pattern about 4 times.
I believe it's a software issue. If it's a hardware issue touch screen should not be working at all right? The thing is, it only malfunctions like that for the first 4~5 touches when the screen turned on. After that the whole touch screen works perfectly.
I was using my phone rooted for a long time without any issue. This started when I tried to flash gingerbread again in last month. I flashed another gingerbread tft, but the problem still remains.
Today I flashed the kernel to FusioN v5.5 and installed MIUI 5, still the issue is there...

i am totally confused bro what to do!!! on a very day i went to a hardware technicians shop to solve the problem!! they said it may be hardware problem but did not say surely!!!!!!! i am looking forward a kind help from any expert of this forum!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm having the same.i have tried anything but still same issue.
Hello people!
I had the same problem when 2 of my friends tried to pull the phone vigorously! -_-
I had to swipe 4-5 to get it to respond and the screen would act weird for another couple of seconds! -_-
Tried Factory Reset etc but still no use!
So I took it to the service center and they said it could be the digitizer(screen) problem but not sure, and that it would cost 4k for that!
Fortunately I had another problem with the sound setting on my phone so I gave it back to them to solve that at least. They flashed the phone with latest ftf(some GB ftf at the time) and gave back the phone saying they couldn't solve the sound issue.
BUT to my surprise/luck my screen prob was fixed! And I dint pay them a single pie!
So I think y'all should try flashing the Stock ftf, preferably ICS 4.1.B.0.587 and its Kernel
Here is the link - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1952333
I hope it works for y'all! All the best!
P.S - I'm now running Super Jelly Bean 8.0 on SuperFusionNeoKK Kernel

Thank you for your replied.
Current build number : 34.4.A.2.50 ( April 1 security patch ).
I just updated normally via wifi.
Still stock rom and i didnt root it.
The problem exist when im charging the phone then call coming or i switch on/off the network...screen starting gone crazy. I guess it always happen when i switch on/off the network, thats why when call coming the screen start touch itself ( with the charger plugged in ). It will be normal after 2-3 times call, i cant answer/making the call so very annoying. I have to wait after screen back to normal after 2-3 times call. I have never face this kind of problem with other phones so thats weird.

since its bootlocked phone there is nothing much can be done on the software side
if you hadn't dropped your phone or anything, try flashing different build / country / version and check!
this is the first case i am hearing.
if it stays the same you may have to take it to the service centre
