[Q] HELP! HTC Rezound - HTC Rezound

I think I just messed up. I was following the direction to put the original stock on the device as advised but when I locked the phone it stuck on the HBOOT / Bootloader screen.
How can I fix this??

Ok that worked... Oh yeah!! But when I attempt to flash a bamf it gets stuck on the loading screen...
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA

if you are looking to flash bamf, I think you have to root it first. Unless you are flashing stock rom, you must have your device root first.

Yes, it is rooted....

After you flash both the rom and the kernel (boot.img) flash that zip.

Yea the rooting tool won't work because they patched it. You have to go into amon ra and root it yourself

You're probably mistaking an 0 for an o, or a 1 for an I or something. I suggest copying and pasting.

Why can I find the root zip?
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA Premium App
Just flash a recovery and then flash the su zip from recovery. You can easily find it in the developers section.
Here is the recovery: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192077
Here is the SU: http://goo-inside.me/superuser/su-2....fgh-signed.zip

Installing the recovery and Su apk doesn't root my phone. I need the exploit I think.
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA Premium App
The exploit just gives you s-off. If the recovery installed and the su zip installed then you are good to go. You may want to try flashing the engineering hboot in the developers section.

I don't think you can can you? But I wouldn't worry, it'll come in time. I have a lot of faith, especially with how fast everything else is happening. The phone has only been out 2 weeks today and we have perm-root and recovery both fully working. Now just to get some ROMs going and hopefully full dual-core support.
You should be able to do it through recovery in the form of an update.zip file.

That depends on the rom that's being flashed. Make a custom kernel in the form of a boot.img and I'll try to test it by recovery.
Sent from my HTC_Amaze_4G using xda premium
With the htc unlocked method you might have to flash kernels by booting recovery from fastboot because it has the proper permissions

The kernels I have used have also included system material as well as the boot.img - will that limit what can be done?

So the kernels would have to be a separate zip from the Rom?

Not necessarily. Many developers include a custom kernel with their roms.

Can you accept OTA with root and s-off ?

Noob question. Can you accept the ota with s-off or will it cause issues or possible brick? I haven't had my tbolt very long and it was already modified when I bought it.

Yea it has been disabled on the Rom I'm running, I was just curious if it would cause problems if I took the update. I'm still learning the ins and outs of rooting. But I understand what your saying, I've seen some time that the ota push was not disabled.
Sent from my ADR6400L using xda premium
I believe it will fail at the bootloader stage when it encounters a non-stock recovery.
I'm running stock n all I did was flash stock recovery via boot loader then download n install the ota, then flash cwm recovery via bootloader then flash the su zip then boom rooted ota

Rom Flash Failed

Im having an odd problem that I have never seen before. Im trying to flash Newts OnE XxX rom and looking for some help. When trying to flash the rom in recovery after about 5-10 secs. I get a massage saying the instal had failed. Any ideas as to what could be causing this and a way to get the rom to instal? I am s-off using teamwin recovery.
Bad download. Just download it again.

Thanks that did the trick. Never had a recovery give me an issue before when trying to flash anything. Sill have my fingers crossed for 4ext.
No problem. It's been my experience that Amon RA is the best recovery for HTC phones. I've pretty much used it exclusively since the droid eris.

You don't flash the PH98IMG.zip in recovery, put it on the root of your SD Card and flash it via the bootloader (power off, pull battery, power back on while holding volume down til you get the splash screen)
That is what I did I'm not that much of a noob good thought though.
