Samething happened to me running 2.3.6 after i first rooted. Installed chainfire 3d and it screwed with my notification bar. Made it go all slanted and messed up. Would only work normal in landscape.
Since then I've flashed various roms and it hasn't affected any of those. Have you flashed any roms since youve rooted or are you still on stock GB??

Same thing is happening to me and only on that particular ROM on which CF3D is installed , i have tried various ROMs without that error. I think have to flash .sbf
Uninstall CF3D then reinstall it and remove the driver then clear data on CF3D and uninstall it. Works like a charm.

Just got a Fascinate the other day, rooted it, everything was fine. After going through hell with Clockwork (what a pain in the ass CWM is on this phone compared to Droid, DX, Thunderbolt, Incredible, and every other damn phone on the planet) I finally got CWM installed -- the red one... CWM All or whatever it's called. Wanted to ty out MIUI so I flashed it and this moved me to the ORANGE CWM. MIUI installed, I played with it, I obviously did something wrong because EVERYTHING was force closing. Tried to flash to a different rom bc my backup was missing (whoops... it was on my other sd card) and I couldn't get anything installed. Tried CM7, and many other roms. Tried flashing back to the red CWM all, then got a message telling me I had to install an edify compatible rom. Downloaded community rom, FINALLY! INSTALLS SUCCEsSFULLY! Except now im stuck at a bootloop. It won't let me restore my old backups, I can't boot into ANY rom, I'm completely lost. I've searched for hours, it's 1:30 in the morning, I have to be up in 6 hours, I'm completely exhaused and have tried everything and can't find a fix.
When I try odin fixes nothing works. It just says 0 passed / 0 failed and does nothing. Does anyone have any idea what to do?
Edit: When I try to restore a backup it just says CHECKING MD5 SUMS for a while, and then tells me there's a mismatch. Latest attempt was from orange CWM... 4.0.5 or whatever it is...
And if i try to install CM7 or MIUI it says can't copy meta-inf and aborts the installation...???

I've not, and I appreciate your feedback, BUT, I'm fixed.
To those who come across this, it turns out WINDOWS VISTA was the issue. Odin just wouldn't work with it. Followed the thread below on a Windows 7 computer and it instantly fixed me. Thank God.

Hello guys,
I am having a bit of problems with my atrix. I recently rooted my phone using superoneclik. As i was exploring some apps, I came across titanium backup. I went ahead and was trying to delete the bloatware that bell had put in my phone.. But the phone just gave me some application error.
Now, the problem I am facing is I cant get past the error message. There is an option to force close but it doesnt help. I cant pull up any menus or anything so there's no question about going to settings menu and doing a reset. I also tried the hard reset using fastboot.. tried to restore.. but nothing seems to happen. Also, I cant install new rom as i dont have CWM..
please advise.. I am with Bell Canada if that makes any difference.
thanks
j
II have the same problem. Did you get anywhere with your atrix?

You must have deleted an application that is necessary for the Os to operate.I faced this situation when i deleted some system apps using rom toolbox and the only way to recover i found was to flash the rom again but i had a unlocked bootloader and i easily reflashed the rom using CWM recovery. In your situation i think u will have to reflash the sbf using RSD.
90% it's a problem in a new version of Google Search. Try to downgrade it.
Started to have this problem and my phone is unrooted, and stock. I downgraded google search app and have not had the problem since.

K I'm using boot manager to install a cm9 Rom and it keeps failing at creating boot.img. I don't know what I'm doing wrong since I've herd of others installing cm9 roms sucessfully using boot manager. Maybe it's something in my settings? Tried making a thread at init2winit forums but have not gotten any response over there. Anyone here willing to help me out? I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks for the advice. I did check my SD storage and it said that I only had 1.16GBs left. So I thought that this could be true I suppose. So I switched to int. Storage as the install location(which I have 9.67GBs available on) and its causing my phone to lock up and freeze. Happened right at the part "extracting Rom please wait..." Weird...

Remember to disable logging in Superuser. That also causes some major issues. Just open superuser hit settings icon, and where it says logging set it to off. You should have much better luck that way
Cool, I will try that. I've uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times, with no luck. I'm interested though. What do you guys have setup in settings?

The Rezound is supported by bootmanager.
I've never been able to get boot manager to work correctly since I've started using it back on my dinc2. Had issues installing some roms on that phone too. Which is why I think my problem may be the settings I am using. Is there specific settings I need to use for the rezound?
EDIT: After I changed the settings SU I tried again at work and it froze still and even rebooted during the install.

Ok, so I finally got cm9 roms to install correctly and now when I try to boot to them it just shows the splash screen for a couple seconds and my display turns off and it never boots. I've tried with kang and paranoid with the same results. I've tried going into recovery and manually flashing the update zip for rom 1, didnt work. Can't think of what could be the problem....

Doesnt look like anyone has asked you this, but are you S-Off?? You need to be S-off for this to work. Also make sure when installing you wipe system/data/cache. You should be able to use the ext.4/2 either one will work. I use the ext.4 since it installs faster....alot faster.

only mentioning that because in the instructions for the app. If he doesnt have to be S-Off then thats strange. Only thing i could suggest after that would be redownload ROM and check MD5

Hi,
I am rooted on my S3 and all is good. However, my Father also has an S3 and last week he was talked into rooting it by his Grandson. All went well but long story short he was not happy with having a rooted phone so has decided to remove root. He has now done so by following various guides. He used Triangle away which he says went successfully and has used Odin to put the latest stock firmware on the phone which again he says went successfully. I was not there when he did all this but phone seems all good.
Except one thing. He has tried to install a couple of apps he had before rooting. Barclays bank app and Sky Go app. After installation these apps are saying they will not work on a rooted phone, but it's not rooted any more. I have booted into recovery using Volume down, power and home buttons and it says custom firmware / rom, I can't remember exact wording, but it says no. Also in the phone menu where a rooted phone says modified in device status it says normal or whatever it should say. Again can't remember exactly but all looks like no root present.
Anyone got any ideas on this? As I am rooted on my S3 and never un-rooted it yet, I do not know if he should have done something else. Will he have to root again to run triangle away or anything else. Or can this be fixed as the phone is at present?
Thanks for any help guys.
Cheers, Rich

One basic question..are you still able to go into recovery..vol up+power+home..if yes you are still rooted...you need to find your stock firmware and flash it via odin
check if it was a stock firmware your father flashed orcustom ROM o.follow this guide to do it again

Hi,
Just tried that and the S3 will not go into recovery via volume up, power and home. Tried several times and it just powers up as normal. He has just tried his banking app and it's telling him the phone is rooted. I'm stumped on what to do.

Sounds like maybe triangle away didnt properly remove the count, was the firmware he downloaded the official one for his phone? Was it previously branded or anything like that?
go supersu and click remove root

Hi,
He has superSu on the phone. Presumably it has downloaded from the play store when restoring the phone. However, he tried to uninstall it which just removed the updates. Couldn't go any further. It is now asking for updates which he has done. But when he tries to launch Super SU it says no apps configured and won't go any further. I think the fact that super su is on the phone, the apps are thinking it is rooted. I am doing this all over the phone so can't see what's happening.
I'm wondering if the way to go now would be another factory reset and when restoring everything, try not to let play store instal super su. Would this be the way to go, or can we get super su off the phone without a reset?
Cheers, Rich
Try uninstalling super su with titanium backup. Then factory reset. Are you sure you have flashed a stock ROM and not a rooted one. This doesnt sound right.

Didn't know there was something like that. Now I am on stock and un-rooted. I can still go into the recovery by pressing vol up+power+home keys.
Hi,
Trying to do these things with him over the phone ain't easy. I may just go and get the phone and do it myself.
He does have supersu on the phone and it is working, well it's installed anyway but obviously does not do the root things as the phone is un-rooted. There is an option in supersu settings to remove root but will this work as the phone is not rooted? Question is how on earth do I remove supersu. Do i need to re-root and remove it that way?
Cheers, Rich

Can't uninstall via Titanium backup as he is no longer rooted unless he roots the phone again. It is a stock rom. It was downloaded via the official rom thread on here.

This works very well for me
Hi,
I'm currently using a Nexus 7 (2012 model) running Android Jelly Bean 4.3. I've been having a strange issue where the Google Play app keeps saying there is no connection. This has also occurred in the Youtube app. I have tried changing my time manually, rebooting my device, and uninstalling updates, to no avail. I am currently unlocked and rooted, and using TWRP as my recovery. What can I do to fix this problem?
Update
So after a painful night of trying to fix this problem by myself, I tried installing a custom rom: Liquid Smooth. When I installed it, Google Play and Youtube seemed to work just fine. At work today though, both apps failed on me again. This proves that it isn't my connection at home. Could it be my Google account? May I please get some help with this problem?
I ve had this one time before... I dont know for shure from where its comming (must be something with the framework) but i do know that the only thing helped that helped me was reinstall official firmware, root it again and install philz recovery...
Do a full wipe and install ROM once again....

I unrooted and re-rooted my ROM, flashed Philz Recovery and LiquidSmooth, and I'm experimenting with each app I install. I think the problem may have been with either XPrivacy or Freedom with Market Unlocker Pro. In any case, I have uninstalled all 3 of these apps.
