Hey there!
First post here but I've lurked a ton. Love the forums and the software! Brilliant!
I've recently rooted and upgraded my i5500, love this cheap little phone. First I just upgraded with Samsungs updated ROM. Then went to CM7. Then all around . Then settled on CM7.
I Tried the ICS in this thread:
[Development] ICS/CM9 for Galaxy 5 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1462202
I realize it's a dev. version but it does say the wifi is working. I was unable to connect via WiFi. It reported a low low low signal even though I was right next to the transmitter. Has anyone else tried out ICS on their i5500? How was it?
I realize I prob should have posted in the thread I mentioned but as I've not yet posted 10 times.. I can't yet
Thanks!
Carbon
I think you should even try asking for support at the MadTeam forum original post of the port.. thee you could always find developers of the port.. here the link
In my opinion, every CyanogenMod for Galaxy 5 has terrible WiFi issues. It has shorter range and it disconnects a lot without a reason, even with WiFi policy set on Never. There are even more problems I won't mention. If you're using USB tethering frequently like I do, maybe you should avoid installing CMod ROMs...Other than that, CMod is the awesome.
I've noticed the degraded wifi. It won't connect at work at all.
Also, thanks for the link.

Is the a forum for the Motorola Cliq 2? I didn't see the it listed on the phone types area? Is there another name it's known by?

I just got this phone myself, and I'm hoping to see a section for it.
Are you having any issues with wifi calling. For some reason it will not stay connected for me. It will connect for a little bit then just randomly disconnects. My G2's wifi calling works perfectly so I'm wondering if it just doesn't work well on the Cliq 2 or if one of the built in connection manager apps is interfering with it. Anyone who had this issue please post and fixes you found. Thanks

I haven't used the Wifi calling just yet, but I had a similar problem with Navigator. Was in NYC, and was using it to get me around, and it just stopped working. It was losing the data connection, and it would just stop cold turkey. Sounds similar to your problem with Wifi calling. Probably data connection related.
This MotoBlur is bull****. My sister owns a Motorola Flipside, and the software on that blows. Had to do a number of things to get that phone working right. I'm hoping for some CM7 roms on both of these phones. So far, nobody cooked any yet. Makes me miss using my G1 phone, since it had a pretty nice setup with the abundance of custom roms available. Just a SIM card swap away.
Of course, the first thing needed is a section for the Cliq 2.
The c2 is still a redheaded stepchild at this point. There is some work starting now over at m3 but it would be really nice to see something going over here.
There's already a deblurred rom with some goodies included. Someone is working on porting CM6 and maybe eventually CM7.
That is correct over at m3 there are 2 roms and a custom recovery out at this point. Looks like some good things are starting to happen!

what version of z4root did you use for get rooted you cliq 2?
Just use OneClickRoot to root this phone. The latest version works fine. The Gingerbread release has a custom root that you'll need to apply. It's on ModmyMobile.com .
I bought a small bluetooth keyboard specifically for use with my ThunderBolt. Using CyanogenMod 7, it will work fine. However, if I use any rom that is based on sense, the bluetooth keyboard will not sync correctly. I've read that sense uses an outdated version of the bluetooth stack. Is there any way to get the bluetooth stack that CyanogenMod uses and put it into a sense based rom?
This is something people have been after for a long time my friend. Complain to htc
On a side note, this really should have been posted in Q&A, or better yet googled.
Edit: just realized I did not technically answer you. If out is possible, no one has done out on any sense rom that I'm aware.
My bad about posting in the wrong place. I have googled it and found nothing that solved the problem. Since there are a lot of smart people here, I thought I would ask it here.

What was the solution?
The title says it all...
I am currently typing this on a bluetooth keyboard. I am running an AOSP based rom now and loving it. Link is in my signature if anyone wants to check it out.

I havent tried it yet, but using my old blackberry keyboard via bluetooth would be kind of cool if I could get it to interface.
i had this: http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=PA-BK03-PB&cat=KYB
it worked on my old Incredible 2 and my gf's iphone.
keyword being 'had'... it started having issues connecting. would have to try 2 - 3 times occassionally before it connected. rather then exchange i just got a refund.

I have installed almost all ICS based roms and excepting Xperia ICS and HeHappy rom (yeah, the old one - stable.. I cant find it ), my wi-fi connection is really-really slow with these roms (sometimes it takes even one minute to connect a website, and I cant watch video on Youtube (even in low quality)
In all gingerbread and froyo roms - there is no problem with my wifi connection (its a high speed wifi).
Now, its just me or you guys have the same wifi problem? I dont use 3g to connect on web. Its a bug or what? its very weird...
Nope, never had that kind of a problem, been using ics roms for a long time now, have u tried reflashing with wiping everything?

No problem here, with any of the ROMs I've tried.
BTW, which hephappy ROM is the one you said you can't find?
used many ics roms and didnt have any issues
for hephappy's and many others go to clockworkmod.com
I've never seen any major difference in WiFi reception in the ROMs that I have used in the past. I seem to get slightly better reception than I used to in GB ROMs.

if ots solved, where is the solution?
Starting a month ago, my S3 is having great problems connectingrto access points. 8 times out of 10 it says "Authentication problems" and a flashnotice says "wrong password" even though the network is open. This seems to happenon both stock LC rRoms and cm10. It alsosseems thatiit's just ap's running on 2,4Ghz giving this problems. 5Ghz is just fine. AFAIK radio-firmware doesn't contain code forddealing with wifi, only gsm/3g/4G stuff.
Is hardware issues with my phone the last resort or am Immissing somethin ?
Other devices including android phones doesn't have issues withthese AP's and iI'm havingthese pproblems onall 22,4Ghz ap's
I have the same problem with my S3.
Oh goodie i thought i was going bat **** crazy or too needy, i have had the same issues on cm10 ( updated every time one gets pushed to me ) and stock rom. i'm in the same room as the router and always get 2-3 bars, my old white SGS3 had no such issues. ( Btw im using a from factory unlocked blue ) At times H+ Mobile data is faster :0/

Do not go looking for software problems, is hardware. I had the same problems, the only solution is to change the motherboard. Use the warranty. Sorry for the bad English.

Im very sorry for that grammar, Swiftkey seems to bailout on this site.
Thought so... I swapped kernels and roms like i just don't care and the issue is still present.

I'm on elkc now and the problem is still here. Maybe it wasn't exactly the same crap.
Can anyone here also verify that 5 ghz seems to work much better?

Hey guys, can't post in the development section yet, so sorry this is here.
But I'm on 2/17 cm11 official nightly, and every time that I have my gps connect in Google maps, it completely kills my signal. It did this on 2/15 and 2/16 for me also.
Anyone have any clue as to why??
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
Strange, I've been following the nightly builds since 13/02/2014.
The nightlies seem quite stable to me. Just small things pop up, like: I keep my apks on my phone so it's easy to install them again. One apk I have is uTorrent, however I label it correctly with the Greek symbol and all.. the symbol comes out like Chinese and I can't install the apk because there is a parsing error.. Stock android displayed the symbol and installed it with no issue.
Anyhow, wrt the GPS, I was using TomTom yesterday and found that it really struggled to locate me, it would have my position, then the next thing it jumped somewhere else and made me very confused. I set the location setting to "high accuracy". I'm really unsure if it's cm11 causing the problems for me, although i didn't experience it before on stock. I did not notice a lost cellular connection though. Will try it out again and take note.

As much as I love cm, I've taken a break for a bit and I'm on a blur based rom now.
Been working about 60 hour weeks and also have a baby at home, phone tinkering time has decreased a lot lately. But, beauty of slots means I'll be able to flash occasionally and still have reliable to fall back on!
