i have searched days for solution and didnt find yet, i have flashed stock modules, well i think so, i were on nightelfs kernel i decided to go to .283 kernel cuz batterylife, i were on night elf's kernel, went into recovery, installed stock modules, after that flashed .283 firmware and error, maybe this is a stupid question, BUT PLEASE DONT COME SAY USE SEARCH AASDJIASHD SH*T I SEARCHED FOR DAYS AND TRIED DIFFERENT SOLUTIONS
Okay tried again nightelf kernel ----> recovery ---> install wifi modules ---> kernel .283 = works now, wondering why that didnt work yesterday when i tried that something like 5 times 0.0

I wanted to root for a while, just looking for a rom that looks and feels stock, but has better battery and all..
well I followed
watch?v=-hPSrzRqtX4&feature=player_detailpage (cannot post link as I'm new)
and successfully got to supra rom.. well I don't like the vanilla 5 screen non sense homescreen, though I do like the crt visuals lol...
Anyways, I can't even use my wifi, it just says error, and I NEED wifi, I use it at home non-stop as I have horrible service.
Well I tried to switch to viperRom - I did the reset in bootloader, then full wipe, then cache and all that..
well, once I installed the viperRom .zip, I started my phone and its just the same as before... I can't switch roms! I know this is prolly some nooby thing I don't understand but I've been searching all night and just want to get everything working and need to sleep haha
any help GREATLY APPRECIATED
What do you mean about not being able to switch roms?

I figured out that I was trying to flash to viperRom using only the update
I'm now on viper, with stock kernel and still cannot get wifi to work, any ideas? Any searching turns up kernel issues, and to revert to stock.. well I'm on stock kernel

unless you're having hardware wifi issues, which the best way to determine would be through running a stock rom and stock kernel, my guess is you have a kernel and rom mismatch issue.
the way htc has their kernels compiled includes two things: kernel and modules.
the modules include a wifi module.
if you flash a kernel and then load a rom, chances are the rom might overwrite either the kernel, the kernel modules, or both.
the best way to avoid this scenario is to flash the rom first and then flash the kernel. the kernel flash will load the kernel itself and its modules. i.e. if you're on a rom you want to stay with now, flash the kernel again and then wifi should work.
hope that helps!
Thank you, o figured this out myself, but you were right lol I was using 2.3.3 roms on 2.3.4

I'm currently running stock 2.3.3 from SE (through Rogers in Canada) with baseband 2.1.71 (rooted since it was released)
I planned on installing CM7 on my phone so I decided to unlock my bootloader so that it is ready when I eventually do so. I used FlashTool 0.6.7.0 to unlock it and it ran without any problems.
However I'm unable to turn Wi-Fi on. It only says "Error" and I'm not too sure what's wrong. I tried searching for answers but others with same issues were using custom ROMs while I'm still on stock.
Anyone know what I can do to fix this? If you're missing any information to be able to help me, please let me know and I will post them. (I have about a week to fix this as I'll be leaving on vacation and I'll need wifi working)
Thanks!
If you have really opened bootloader, for such device special kernels are necessary (stock or custom). Flash by FlashTool one of such ftf-kernels, then install with utility xRecovery the module wi-fi for this kernel.
The author of each ROM recommends, what kernels to use and gives the link on downloading.
just look for the kernel tht is meant for unlocked bootloader tht should work with stock rom n then flash kernel via flashtool n wifi modules file through xrecovery ur wifi will work
Which kernel u using? U prob need the relevant WiFi modules.

Thanks, I'll give it a shot tonight. I noticed it mentioned to install a custom kernel but seeing how everything else was fine I skipped that step. (ooops )
I had that "error" on my stock with zKernel.I dont know cause, but i fix it with reinstall zKernel..Try with zKernel for stock..

It's not ICS... I installed CM7.2. Found out FXP105 was missing a lib file for camera so I'll fix it later.
Thanks for all your help guys
FXP105 is 9.0 (ICS),thats FXP54 i think.

Hi. I haven't tested it with CM7 but MIUI had the same problem, so try to flash wifi fix and then UnlockedBL.zip . And also try other kernels

Similar issue.
I have tried installing this several times to no avial.
I have installed the base 4.0.4 Stock rom - then DOOM kernel - Then installed the KA11 - Then installed Advanced ICS Kernel - then flashed the V5 kernel to go with the ROM... and all i get is the hanging on boot and then eventual reboot.
I have tried flashing it all through aurora - still nothing even on GB KERNEL - Previous kernel V3 everyone that I can think of.
The only way I can get KA11 to work is if I use Advanced ICS kernel. I do the full wipe and davlik... also fix permissions. I have almost tried everything. Does anyone have any ideas.
I am all out. I would love to try this rom... I have flashed a lot of units without issue... THEN THIS... lol
Cheers.
hey try this install ka11 then use xsx kernel it has oc also but up to 1.7 only, after 1 day or 1 night install the ka v5 kernel, works for me, at first i got bootloop with ka kernel but after using xsx for a night, i installed ka kernel v5 and got no bootloop. good luck
I got it working

I flashed STOCK - then installed Doom. Installed KA11 with Auroa - then cleared davlik again and cleared cache etc... I then flashed XSX and boom. All works. FINALLY. Don't know if i want to install KA kernel V5 now
Cheers mate.
I'm having force close to mostly every app I have, even when I'm setting a new wallpaper. I think KA11 has still more bugs, so I'm still waiting for an update/bug fix
HI, if i want to return to the industry firmware can i use the update via pc companion ? i have installed advanced stock 01 and ka08 .

tutorial unlocking bootloader & relocking
I have just aquired a xperia x10, rooted and bootloader unlocked. But since I got it (generic rom 2.3.3) wifi doesnt seem to work. It just gives me an error. I tried different roms and kernels with no success. Tried to search for similar problems and mostly its advised to install a different kernell wich I already did.
I´ve heard that I could install diferent wifi modules, but I couldnt find where they are. So I really apreciate if anyone could help me out.
Right now Im using "Achotjan_X10i_6.0.B.0.743_Light-V1" ROM with default kernel version. Base Band 2.1.71.

Yes. I flashed via recovery menu. With xrecovery and cwm, neither worked. And I am sure that installed the correct version. Now im back to generic rom with original wifi modules, so I cant figure it out why the wifi modules dont work...
Help)
I have same problem, but wifi do not work even on stock 2.3.3 rom. wifi turning on and see connections but don't connect

check signature, he is using your rom problably. maybe quickfixes "kernel+wfi" mention in signature worked.
So i am trying a lot of roms and kernels lately due to some issues i got that i posted in another threat. And after i flashed a nightelf exp kernel, my play store was missing. I tried flashing stock GB rom .62 (with kernel) and everything was fine. But when i flashed nightelf kernel again now my play store AND my dialer apps are missing. When i flash the rom i want (Gin2Jellybean) they are still missing.
What should I do?
PS: even if i flash the gapps zip all gapps appears except for play store. And i already tried adb pushing too...
Just tried with Lupus GB kernel and now the vending.apk and dialer didn't gone missing. Could that be any kind of incompatbility between nightelf kernel and stock .62? It's strange because i think i already did that before...
I don't know what's the problem, but if you plan to use Gin2JellyBean, you can just use the Stock kernel. It works really really well. No lags and battery life is good.
It's a good idea, but i'll miss the OC, and 2 way call recording from a custom kernel.
