I'm running AOKP and running Chomp, and about half the time I'll get a text notification, the other half no notification (but once I open Chomp all of my texts come through with the same time stamp). I've been running Chomp since before I installed this ROM with no problems.
Any ideas?
Does sms work if you uninstall chomp and use the built in messaging? If so, its Probably just a incompatability issue between ICS roms and that app. There are still quite a few apps that have issues with android 4.0. I would report the issue to the app dev and see what they say.

I have searched the web and found no discussion about it anywhere, leave alone xda-developers forum.
I have an X10i running on an Android custom ROM - CM 6.3.1.
I have a very unique and strange problem in my phone which is very annoying and causing inconvenience.
All the messages (SMSes) are being threaded wrongly and randomly. That is, an SMS coming from 'A' threaded to 'B'. B's SMSes threaded to 'C'. C's SMSes threaded to sometime A and Sometime B. And A's SMS create a new thread sometimes. An SMS coming from a totally new person or source threaded either A, B or C whereas they are not at all related anyhow etc.
This may sound unique and unbelivable but i am really facing this problem since a couple of months. Before that it was working fine.
The various steps which i have already tried but got no success are :
1) Wiped out the entire depository of SMSes and started afresh.
2) Reset my phone to factory default.
3) Tried different custom ROMs or different version of a custom ROMs.
I do not understand why the phone is behaving so strangely. A help from someone will be greatly appreciated.
Don't know if this would help but did you try using Stock super vanilla 2.1 just to see what happens?

Sorry.... but would u mind explaining what is Stock super vanilla 2.1?
1. Installed History Eraser app and erased app cache, search histories, SMSes, and call logs.
2. Uninstalled native Messaging app through Titanium Back up app.
3. Rebooted and then installed another popular SMS handling app - Handcent SMS.
The problem still remain as it is.
Anyone there to take the challenge.
Hi, everybody
I'm quite new in here, even if I read this forum a lot.
I just installed the ROM MiniCM7 Pro (v18) on my X10 mini pro, and I absolutely love it!
Now, I have an issue with GMail, I never faced before: when I receive a new mail, the notification is immediate (faster in the phone than in the web). Then, I read the message via web, and the notification in the phone doesn't disappear: it still continues blinking the led for (at least) one minute...
I read somewhere in here that the solution is removing the data for GMail and "GMail Storage", but I don't have any "GMail Storage" in the app list: maybe this is the issue?
Note that I installed the GMail app from the market (rel. 2.3.5.2) since this is not provided in the ROM...
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Marco
Set whether to recommend you to restore or re-flash the ROM to see if it will be back to normal!!
Thank you for your reply. Actually, I read in the ROM thread that this ROM has to be installed with CWM 4.x (provided).
So, I reinstalled, and the problem (seems) gone.
Anybody else developed this strange problem?
When I enlarge an application screen shots to fill my phones screen on the android market the first image is viewable as expected. But when I scroll to the second image and all of the others how ever many their is, I just get a blank black screen? I can scroll back to the first image and it shows back up but all the other ones remain blank?
Seems odd, is their a known technical problem at the moment? I can't find anything via Google searches.
Working fine for me.

This happened to my Nexus S 4g while running NSCollab 1.0.51 2.3.7 rom. Switched to Ice Cream Sandwich sdk rom - I'll see if the problem continues .
Edit: this went away when I flashed ICS.
What rom are you running?
Seems to be OK now finally, most enlarged pictures are all showing up fine. I just get the odd one here and there that is blank out of a set sometimes. Just an odd little quirk I guess. I can't see how it would be a problem with the phone.
Sorry I posted this in the wrong section, I could have swore blind I put it in the Q&A section. Thanks for moving the thread for me.
I have the same issue, so you're not alone. it's kind of weird. I initially thought this was the network issue, but it does it on wifi and 3g. I think this problem needs to be explored further.
Glad to see I am not the only one with the problem. I have the problem only on the second picture, no matter which app I am viewing. I thought with the new market version it will go away but it is still there.
FYI: I am running on a stock 2.2.1 on a SGS.
Wonder if it's an issue with the market itself. It comes and goes on my phone, over a few different roms. Currently running Brainmaster's Miui 1.10.28 and every now and then I'll see a blank picture.
The larger problem I'm now having is that various apps are completely missing from the market. There are some that I've downloaded and used tons of times that I can't even find, using various search terms.
And then there is the app I paid for that is completely gone from the market. None of this particular dev's apps are available, which pisses me off pretty good - no response from the dev nor google about this issue.
First, let me say I did search for this issue and couldn't find an answer. I saw that one user had asked the same question in the original CM7 nightly thread (not the twice weekly), but never received an answer. Sorry if it's been answered elsewhere.
I'm running the latest CM7 nightly from Sam3000, although this isn't a new issue. While on a call, SMS notifications play through the rear speaker, causing the person on the other end of the call to hear it as well, interrupting them. I've dug around all the settings on the phone itself and can't find a fix.
Is there something I'm missing? Is there any sort of flashable mod to change this? I'm using the stock messaging app, as I actually prefer it to GoSMS and the like, but if using a 3rd party app is my only hope then so be it.
Thoughts?
Hi,
I have a SGSII and recently i switched from the official ICS rom to CM9 (build date 20 april). I expected to get a better battery life since CM9 is so populair. Unfortunately this isn't the case and so i want to switch back. Only thing is, last time i switched, all my whatsapp conversations were blanc. I couldt retrieve any old conversations. I know you can email the conversations to yourself but that's not what i want (or is it possible to use these emails in some kind of way to get the conversations back into whatsapp???). Is it possible to backup all my conversations so i can put them back into whatsapp after i flashed the phone to another rom (probably the official rom).
Also, as you can see, I'm not fond of CM9 although this is the most populair rom. Did i do something wrong? I'm a heavy whatsapp user and even when i'm charging the battery drains when using whatsapp (brightness auto and stable WiFi connection). I never game on my device or use bluetooth or gps. I mostly use my phone for facebook, whatsapp, twitter and browsing. Also my phonesignal drops sometimes and my 3G is also worse than before.
Is there a ROM which will give me with my requirements the best Battery life + phonesignal (3G)??
Thanks a lot,

I think backing up the app + data using Titanium backup should do the trick.
After you wipe your device and reinstall the new rom, simply use titanium backup to restore whatsapp and all your conversations should be restored.
