when i power on my atom,
it only flash the orange led and never work anymore,
even if i reset or push the power button,
it happens nothing.
the only way make me think it's not a brick is to replace the battery,,
keep holding reset and center button then put the battery on and off many times,
then i put the battery on and release all buttons,
it goes into the bootloader,
then i connect atom with usb cable,
my computer shows unknown device.

Hi there,
If you plug the carger in and the red light shows, then it's charging. If this is the case you may be able to put it into bootloader and try again, but with proper rom.
hope this helps

Hello. I`m new here to xda-dev and i kinda need you help. I have a sony xperia u device, and today i tried to get its factory settings back. It restarted normally, but then it blocked. I waited several minutes and nothing happend. I removed the battery and tried to reopen it. It showed me Sony logo, Xperia, then blank screen, and restarted again. It keeps doing that, without opening for good. I tried to repair it with sony companion, but i cant get it connected due the fact it still restarting and keep disconecting from pc. What shall i do?
(sorry for my poor english)

Just flash official ftf back with vol down. No need to press power button when you're booting to flash mode or fastboot mode. Just press vol + (fastboot) or vol - (flash) and plug in USB.

What is it that you want to do?
Flashing the formware does not require unlocking the phoen.
Which lock is it SIM or bootloader?

First shut it down, press power + volume down until you feel 3 vibrations (about 10 seconds)m if not take out the battery for a minute.
Download flashtool install and open it and connect in flash mode. It's wither volume down and connecting to pc or colume down, I am not sure about XU. If it shows it's connecting in flash mode and stay in this mode for about 45 seconds you can repair with PC Companion or flash with SUS

As I know, there is no way to power on a phone with a defect power button. I think, the best sollution is to inform yourself, how much a repair is costing.

It is impossible, the button is stuck to the main board, I mean the only repair is to replace the card, better to buy a new phone.
For there I saw:
This has a very easy solution ... q first have to download the FlashTool version ultim ... then a q see've installed and executed proceed to connect your mobile via USB cable to the computer by pressing and holding the Volume Down immediately you walk ... looking in the toolbar ... advanced tab and go to the last option says q reboot which reboots the phone from the computer ... you must choose the option to reboot recovery + default version and force the phone to reboot and turn this will return the phone to its factory state

but i not have the option "reboot recovery + default version" in my flashtool
You can enter fastboot using volume up then "fastboot reboot" on cmd/terminal or any tool using that is using fastboot. Other option, you have spare time look for kernel without offline charging support.
Both is applicable for unlocked bootloader. Else, try the flashtool mentioned in above post.
I had the same problem and found a solution.
this works on a wt19a Live With Walkman.
1)plug charger
2)wait until the battery charging screen appears and remove just the battery
3)wait a few seconds(it can take some time) until the screen turns on again and put the battery back in.
if this doesn't work, wait a few seconds after you remove the battery (10 secs or so) and put it back in BEFORE the screen turns on again.
and if that doesn't work, do the same steps but holding the volume up button when plugging the charger, and when putting the battery back in until the sony ericsson colourful booting up logo appears. It will boot up the phone with the date wrong but you just have to change it.
I found this method after hours and hours and hours of research, founding nothing useful and reading that there was no way to do this and blah blah. This works perfectly for my phone and will work for yours too, just do it several times if it doesn't work at first because sometimes there can be an error of synchronization and won't work . I hope this helps somebody.
Hi guys !
So, the problem began with the power key. Stop working and sometimes the turn off or reboot menu appeared randomly.
When I take off the battery and put on again, the phone turns on by itself. It's like a "keep phone alive" thing.
I tried to flash a rom, but there was an error because the phone turns off and on by itself.
Now theres this error message, “Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. blabla”.
Looks easy to fix, but the thing is that the phone reboots by itself. I cant flash or use Kies cause it only takes a few seconds to reboot again.
Thank you, hope anyone can help me with this.

I was able to fix it.
If theres anyone with the same problem, I just took the battery off and waited like 5 minutes (also pressed the batery terminals).
After that, put the batery (now the phone won't turn on by itself), enter download mode and flash the stock firmware.
Thanks anyway

so i was flashing existenz MM and i can't go to recovery mode, before installing it i have xzdual recovery installed, so i thought i can just flash it again (and ofc it was stupid because after that i just know xzdual won't work with MM) so it's bootloop even when i charge it, the problem is the battery died and it won't fill the battery, the phone keep restarting when plugged in with charger so it keeps draining the battery before it filled up, i can't flash it because of that, the question is, how can i fill the battery so that i can flash it using flashtool?
thanks, and sorry if my English is bad.

If there is no other way you can always open the phone and charge the battery manually(if you have the equipment to do that). I had to do that to my phone yesterday(my battery was so low that it wouldn't boot).

You have to use a hairdryer. There are tutorials on YouTube.

The phone should also be able to charge in recovery. Try that.
Btw. I recently flashed a Z2 via flashtool with an unplugged battery (usb power was enough), so you could also try flashing it now although it's empty.

so i should remove the battery and try to flash it without battery plugged in?
because i tried to charge the phone overnight with no luck, havent tried removing the case yet because im not experienced to remove them, is there any alternative that i should try without touching the hardware stuff?

I would first try to flash just like it is now, without opening the back cover.
Opening the back panel is the last option I would consider, but only if everything else fails.
The thing with opening back cover is, that you will most likely damage you back panel, and you will have to order some new, fake raplecement + the phone won't be waterproof anymore.
And if you can get your phone into fastboot mode (and you've got unlocked bootloader) then just use "adb fastboot flash boot boot.img" command to flash some kernel with recovery.

Have you tryied to plug it in and then press power and volume up continiusly until you fell three vibrations? i think this is for reseting the phone if you continue to press until another vibration it will shut down and maybe then it will charge. It won't probably charge in fastboot/flashmode.
But it's very strange that the PC won't detect your phone when trying to enter flashmode.
Because, as I said earlier, I was able to get Z2 into flashmode without any power (battery taken out).
There should be some change in device manager when you connect the device.
Are you sure all the drivers are installed on your PC?
