I have been getting this at random on different roms and kernels for the past 4 weeks or so.
Is there any way of finding out what is causing it?
Thanks

Will this still be the case if I have been using official ICS builds since they started coming out?
Ill admit I was using leaked ICS roms for a while but after the official ones came out I did factory reset, formatted cache, system, data, cleared cache and dalvik prior to installing the official ones.
Just curious.
Otherwise is there any other way to know what is causing it?
so far I have no idea other than this mate.....
FOR ICS
DOWNLOAD D4 ROM FROM HERE
PLACE THE ROM IN SD CARD
1. GO INTO CWM BY PRESSING VOLUME+ AND POWER WHILE OFF
2. GO ONTO WIPE FACTORY AND THEN PRESS HOME BUTTON
3. GO ONTO WIPE CACHE AND PRESS HOME BUTTON
4. THEN GO TO ADVANCED AND PRESS HOME BUTTON
5. THEN GO ONTO WIPE DALVIK CACHE AND THEN PRESS HOME BUTTON
6. GO BACK
7. GO ONTO INSTALL ZIP
8. GO TO INSTALL ZIP FROM INTERNAL SD
9. CHOOSE YOUR ROM
10. REBOOT

Not using AOSP based ROMs for ICM yet. They dont support external SD for the camera and thats a big deal for me as I have a 32GIG memory card.
If it wasnt for that I would be using CM9 but I always perfer to have my data on external memory in case phone dies on me I still have the data

me too curious, lets wait someone will share actual reason...
freshly starting from GB is the only remedy now....
TRY THIS

yes you will loose your sms, simply follow this
1. backup your mobile now using clockwork mode
2. restore using kies or odin and root it
3. install kernal with clockwork mode
4. Reboot in clockwork mode and go to backup and restore
4. go to ADVANCE option and RESTORE DATA only, (if you will restore all or system then your mobile will come to same situation where it is now)
5. Reboot
Try it on you own risk, i will not liable for any thing, also if this will not work then you will have your backup to restore to come again on this situation where you are now
thanks but any other safe solution becuse beleve me its v.v important sms
just get an sms backup App off the market, simple

Make sure .zip file is on sd card, also what version of clockwork mode do you have ?
I am switching phones with someone on my sprint account, can i wipe the internal drive and still have root and everything else needed for the person to use the phone?
You should be good as long as you don't wipe system or take any ota's. Just wipe cache and dalvik, and do a factory reset. You could also wipe everything and flash any rom, including the stock rooted rom.
---------- Post added at 03:19 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:18 PM ----------
The only way you would lose root is if you ran the ruu.

I got exactly the same problem. It happened with my ROM-SLOT-1 running 13.3.2.4.
Right now I have no idea how to fix it. Wiping cache and dalvik chache didn't help. I guess I will have to erase /data which means factory reset.
The last option would be to restore the backup of the original ROM.
Please guys, there must be an easy way to get this fixed.
Any ideas?
If I remember correctly, you need to re-enable OTA updates and sign into your Amazon account.

Thanks, will try next time.
This time I used the factory-default setting on stock rom which killed all of my slots and installations
Hey,
i've the same problem.
I can't configure anything because I only gets an language menu loop.
I've saved my "TWRP" folder so I can restore the factory defaults with this folder right?
Best regards
...me too. But I´ve no backup
Any other suggestion?
Cheers
I destroyed everything... I didn't know how to use the "TWRP" folder and the wrong thing and erased my ROM stock...
After this I installed 13.3.2.6.zip via adb sideload.
Now the kindle hdx 7 starts but I already have the same problem like before. Lanuage menu loop
---------- Post added at 06:41 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:09 PM ----------
I think i fixed the problem. (or find a workaround)
After this my fire hdx work like "normal" without loop.
1. select your language
2. after this directly the homescreen will shown for 1 second.
3. click the silk browser, now the browser is open
4. visit towelroot.com and download tr.apk (click on lamda)
5. go back the language menu will be there... but do the first two steps
6. click search, apps
7. install a file explorer (e.g. ES File explorer)
8. run the tr.apk
9. install superuser.apk
10. reboot
Now the languagemenu isn't there.
my oppinion is that we don't have enough rights and with su and root our choice will be applied.
after a few min I get the language menu loop
sorry for my english

Try deleting the device from your amazon account on the amazon-website.
Do a factory erase on the device if necessary (you may wanna try clearing dalvik cache and cache first).

I did a recovery (TWRP) then I copied the twrp folder from my old backup on the kindle fire hdx and restored from this folder.
I don't know why I couldn't restore it before but now everything works

Using Latest Venom Rom.
A 'pictures' folder keeps appearing on my phone and it will not let me delete it, share it, or anything.
Won't let me take screenshots anymore either.
there is a text file inside the 'picture' folder and here is what it says:
"Failed to open the file (java.io.IOException
at com.estrongs.android.pop.app.PopNoteEditor$1.run(P opNoteEditor.java:237)
at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java)
)"

I've tried wiping caches, factory reset, fully install Rom from scratch, but get same error.
Any Ideas?
I've been trying for days now.
Wiped Cache, Davlik Cacher, done a full restore, factory reset and re-installed Venom Rom...still getting same errors.
So installed Android Revolution from scratch, STILL exactly same issues.
Surely somebody can help me??
thanks
