I am switching phones with someone on my sprint account, can i wipe the internal drive and still have root and everything else needed for the person to use the phone?
You should be good as long as you don't wipe system or take any ota's. Just wipe cache and dalvik, and do a factory reset. You could also wipe everything and flash any rom, including the stock rooted rom.

The only way you would lose root is if you ran the ruu.

The application Updater (process com.android.updater) has stopped working unexpectedly. Please try again.
Is that expected?
Cheers.

Data issues solved?
Sent from my X10i using xda premium
Unfortunately the 3G/Data issue exists on this ROM too.
I have been getting this at random on different roms and kernels for the past 4 weeks or so.
Is there any way of finding out what is causing it?
Thanks

Will this still be the case if I have been using official ICS builds since they started coming out?
Ill admit I was using leaked ICS roms for a while but after the official ones came out I did factory reset, formatted cache, system, data, cleared cache and dalvik prior to installing the official ones.
Just curious.
Otherwise is there any other way to know what is causing it?
so far I have no idea other than this mate.....

5. THEN GO ONTO WIPE DALVIK CACHE AND THEN PRESS HOME BUTTON

7. GO ONTO INSTALL ZIP
8. GO TO INSTALL ZIP FROM INTERNAL SD
9. CHOOSE YOUR ROM
10. REBOOT

Not using AOSP based ROMs for ICM yet. They dont support external SD for the camera and thats a big deal for me as I have a 32GIG memory card.
If it wasnt for that I would be using CM9 but I always perfer to have my data on external memory in case phone dies on me I still have the data

How can I make a backup rom from the rom I am now using? I don't want to modify it or add anything like that. Just a straight forward copy of my default, unmodified stock S3 rom i.e. the same rom my phone had when I bought it from the shop.
Use this tool for galaxy s3 allows you to Perform a FULL NANDROID Backup of your system via adb and save in Custom Recovery format on your PC....

Flashed your zip [done]
Toggle 2g uninstall with Titanium [done]
Does not work for me :C
Too lot information and data to full wipe\flash again :C
Maybe there is another way to solve this?
Hmm, I cannot tell. Try to backup in recovery, wipe data, try to use it without installing anything and tell me if it is the same.
Then just restore data in recovery.

Wipe helps, reinstall easier way i guess. Also, it happens after an update to v16.
p.s You're the best c;
Hmm, looks like something you installed or there was wipe needed between versions. Who knows now.
Using Latest Venom Rom.
A 'pictures' folder keeps appearing on my phone and it will not let me delete it, share it, or anything.
Won't let me take screenshots anymore either.
there is a text file inside the 'picture' folder and here is what it says:
"Failed to open the file (java.io.IOException
at com.estrongs.android.pop.app.PopNoteEditor$1.run(P opNoteEditor.java:237)
at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java)
)"
-----------
I've tried wiping caches, factory reset, fully install Rom from scratch, but get same error.
Any Ideas?
I've been trying for days now.
Wiped Cache, Davlik Cacher, done a full restore, factory reset and re-installed Venom Rom...still getting same errors.
So installed Android Revolution from scratch, STILL exactly same issues.
Surely somebody can help me??
thanks
Matt
