Download Odin from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=581913&d=1304094576
Download the stock ATT file here: http://m-s-j.net/dagnarf/pda-odin-att-stock-kernel.tar
If your phone cannot be recognized you may need these Samsung drivers: http://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/product/SGH-I717ZBAATT
Install Odin and open it up.
Plug in your USB cable into your PC.
Power down your galaxy Note.
Hold down the power button + volume down, and follow on screen instructions to enter download mode.
Plug in your galaxy Note.
Make sure auto reset is the only checked option in odin.
Select the ATT tar file using PDA mode.
Run the process.
It should set you back to ATT stock system and modem.
Looks like you're on stock with a t-mobile radio. Just flash the at&t radio or odin back to stock.

Here is the ATT modem tar. Not sure why it didn't work with the stock. Try this the same way you installed the stock:

wait so i have pda checked in odin, i go in and select pda-odin-att-stock-kernal and it puts .tar at the end. thats not what i need? ive ran that twice and still not getting 4g/3g only edge
no thats NOT the right one. thats the kernel.
in the link i provided ..where is says "download .rar here"...THATS what you need! Unzip that rar and in that is the TAR you should be using in odin.

can anyone help
i seem to have a problem with sending a sms while 3g is on, everything else works fine. i've tried with a few custom roms but having the same prob with them. when i revert back to froyo 2.2.1 its ok.
ive searched all over google and on ere, a few people have had the same prob but the only solution i've found is using a app called automateit. But shouldnt it work without the need of this app
at the moment im using fla.sh custom rom. if i do the *#1234# i have
PDA: s5830xwkpn
PHONE: s5830xwkp6
CSC : NONE
apn settings for t-mobile
i flashed the rom from coderom 2
the problem is probably down to me, but have tried loads of stuff, from flashing just a csc file to checking and re checking apn settings and smsc number but still not able to text while 3g is on.
anybody know have any ideas thanks
anyone got a clue then. its doing my head in. think i narrowed it down to the modem file as i went back to stock froyo 2.2.1 which i can text while 3g is on and played around with csc files which no matter which one i chose as long as the apn settings were right i could still send a text.

Looking at the *#1234# thingy , how can you have NO csc ?
Infused with CM7 for Galaxy Ace using XDA App
not sure really. flashed from coderom v2 to fla.sh. i do the *#1234' on the fla.sh rom and its gone. so checked to see if i have a csc file using root exployer. and not one there. so god knows.
but the main problem i have is sending a sms while in 3g, its has happend on all the custom roms that i've tried. so as not alot of people have asked about it then it must be me.
for instance to get from stock froyo 2.2.1
PDA: S5830XWKB7
MODEM: S5830XXKB1
CSC: S5830OXXKB6
to coderom v1 using odin
BOOT: S5830XXKPH
PDA: PDACODEROM
MODEM: S5830XXKPH
CSC: S5830SERKPH
i simply fill all the required fields in odin with the corresponding ones from what i downloaded. apboot to boot, modem to modem ect. is that right?
turned off, insert sim and sd card. reboot then checked apn settings. go to send a text. text comes back as failed. turn data off and it sends.
flash back to stock froyo and it all works again. the only way around it that i've found is using automateit app.
THANKS
This is the same problem with T Mobile. I think it is to do with the CSC I can't find the XEU CSC anywhere.
Sent from my GT-S5830 using XDA App
Hi i have tryed the following XEU SER OXX and all fail while on 3G.. I to have been haunted by this.. Im on orange uk.. I also think it has somthing to do with the modem.. Maybe flashing the modem from froyo and the rest from gingerbread might fix it.. Only other this is if i put an o2 sim in i have no problems at all.. Seem only to bother orange & t-mobile as i think they are now the same..
Sent from my GT-S5830 using xda premium
i think it does have something to do with the modem. i have fla.sh rom running at the mo, which i flashed from coderom v2, did the *#1234' and had no csc code at all. realising from that the only rom, as i've tried a few now, that i have been able to send a sms while 3g has been on was the stock froyo 2.2.1.
so what i've done now is extracted the whole contents of the csc file with 7zip. copied them to my sd card. and using root explorer copied, SW_Configuration (HML) CSCVersion (text) and the csc (Folder) over to /system. rebooted the phone and *#1234# again and now i have a csc which is OXXKB6, which is the one that came with stock. checked by doing *#INFO*IMEI# and it already changed to XEU and now have a list of sales code.
GOT EXCITED AT THIS POINT haha
sent a text and within secs came back as fail.........
tried flashing just the modem but dosnt boot up after. thats if i'm doing it right
odin - ops (cooper) - PHONE (modem) then start.
now i've googled about having a TMU sales code which is T-MOBILE but as i've read you only need this if your phone is branded to T-MOBILE. as my phone is not then i cant seeing this working but will give a go.
is there a way of flashing just a modem. ?????
I dod the same just flashing the modem file and wouldnt boot ither.. I think you need to use all files while flashing.. Boot code csc from ginger and modem from froyo all as same time.. If it work im affrade the SOD would come back but not 100% on that..
Sent from my GT-S5830 using xda premium
no luck im afraid
this is what i've tried: -
stock rom ( S5830XWKB7 ) then flashing gingerbread ( S5830XXKP9 ) ( S5830XXKPH ) ( S5830XWKPT ) ( S5830XWKPKN ) each time starting of with stock rom but every time i flash to any gingerbread i'm unable to send a sms while 3g is on!!!!!!!
need help?????
Did you try flashing with the following files..
BOOT (Gingerbread)
PDA (Gingerbread)
MODEM (Froyo)
CSC (Gingerbread)
Or maybe..
I saw a thread for the orange uk gingerbread rom.. Mayby you could use the MODEM file (as tmobile & orange are the same now).. I will be trying this at some point soon..
Sent from my GT-S5830 using xda premium
Or maybe even extract the message apps from the stock orange gingerbread rom (only this that be an issue is that i think its polish)..
Sent from my GT-S5830 using xda premium
Not sure guys. This seem to be a problem for Virgin, T-mobile and Orange users in the UK using SGA with Gingerbread. These companies share networks too, yes? The Virgin Community (self help) has some input from VM staff that suggests that they are aware of the issue and that's why they haven't released GB themselves for SGA - not sure that it's as simple as a quick file replacement to resolve. Apologies if I'm wide of the mark here as I'm new to Android but I would have though that if it was a single file/apk that they would have resolved it quickly?
But what about the leaked polish gingerbread rom for orange.. Wouldnt that not work or are the freq different???
Sent from my GT-S5830 using xda premium
This was posted on the VM Community Forums yesterday on a thread about GB on SGA:
"I am still new to the phone but so far I have had no issues sending texts (getting use to conversation style sms),calling (call quality not as good as my older Tocco) or browsing.
I got the deal on two phones last Thursday and insisted they had the latest gingerbread version. On receipt of the phones I installed Kies and tried a firmware update and received the not supported message. Following firmware version was displayed:
PDA:KPU / PHONE:KP7 / CSC:KP1(VIR)
Without checking the phone itself I called virgin support and couldnt tell me when the firmware would be released -however just before I was about to send them back I checked the "about" on the phone itself and was pleasantly surprised.
The phone itself reports
android 2.3.3
baseband version S5830XWKP7
Kernel version 2.6.35.7-perf-CL48464 [email protected]#1
Build number GINGERBREAD.XWKPU
I had also looked into alternative ways to flash the firmware(odin) but I guess this means unless you want to risk bricking the phone folk have to wait for virgin to release it I'm afraid."
Samsung working on a fix.....
Orange have posted this on their site....
"Handsets that currently have Android Gingerbread installed on the device may be having problems sending SMS (Text) messages.
This issue has been highlighted and Samsung are currently working on a resolution which should be available next week (02/10/2011)
As a temporary fix you can follow the below instructions to change your handset from 3G to 2G only which will allow you to send text messages"
So - fingers crossed!

It is exactly the same as AT&T use, do you recommend that i make a recovery from my original stock room and start again ?, if i make a recovery to my stock rom it remains rooted or i need to root again ?
Hi it seems you have the T-Mobile radio antenna installed. I'm still a noob at this but look at my post called "flash Samsung galaxy note i7i7 back to at&t" towards the end of the comments they'll be talking about a att-stock-odin-antenna or something around those lines just download it and no need to unzip/extract it and you should have 4g GPA/lye back on your note also you need Odin which I assume you have.
2nd edit: also this doesn't clear your root/flash only the antenna is updated

Just for the records, i´ll be able to fix the problem flashing again the original AT&T stock radio at :

I´m using this i717 with the original AT&T stock rom rooted with original stock radio from AT&T in Telcel mexico with no problems at all, for some reason the original radio can´t recognize the Telcel signal as 3g/4g, just reload the radio again from the link above and everything works fine now !, Thank you every one, specially zacharyXD !
Please Help! Ok so this is probably a rare question. Is there anyone who has the Galaxy S2 from the strait talk company itself Model: SGH-S959G if so I need a link for the stock rom and kernel. Use the following APN settings in exact case as they appear, then data will work:
Name: att.mvno
APN: wap.tracfone
Proxy: att2.tracfone.com

MMSC: mmsc.tracfone.com
MMS Proxy: proxy.mvno.tracfone.com
MMS Port: 80

I know this works... Also MMS will work.
Also, the above only works if you are using Straight Talk ATT based Sim card... and won't work for Straight Talk T-Mobile Sim Card.

I Have The Same Model SGH-S959G From Straight Talk
Barnical_Boy_88 said:
Please Help! Ok so this is probably a rare question. Is there anyone who has the Galaxy S2 from the strait talk company itself Model: SGH-S959G if so I need a link for the stock rom and kernel. Screenshots would be greatly appreciated too. So here it goes I rooted my phone by using the Galaxy S2 AT&T version method. It rooted fine but clockwork mod did not install im guessing cause I didn’t update to the ICS when I started my phone from the box because I had no service at the time so I never got to install the updates. Anyway worked on it with a friend of mine that’s knows a lot even he was stumped when we couldn’t find anything on my phone about flashing to stock with no root. And model number is nowhere to be found online whatsoever. So I figured after we tried flashing different kernels all night we gave up for the night. I found the unrooting intructions for same thing Galaxy S2 AT&T Unroot to stock bad idea all in all now my phone is running like at&t no network data and is running on UMTS or UMTS mobile network now instead of gsm so I got no mobile network what so ever and my model number is showing at&ts version of Galaxy S2 model: SAMSUNG-SGH-I777 instead of my original model: SGH-S959G…Im totally lost not sure what my last resort is..If someone could help me It would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!! MANY THANKS!!

I'm running this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2419155 rom using T-Mobile. I thought this ROM had the fixes baked in. I am willing to switch Roms too if I can get everything to work. Idk if data even works at all since I don't have a data plan.

To be honest this rom had way to many bugs to count on both hands...i was on it maybe 2 hours and just couldnt stand it...as for your data have you messed with the apn's. ALL roms require you to set it up and isnt at all hard to do....i can help you do it....as for t-mobile and all t-mobile based cards you will ONLY get Edge (2g) on the rez
My apns I think are fine I posted screenshots of em. are they good? Anyways sounds like i need a different ROM any suggestions?
Oh and I'm having the hardest time finding a download for the latest amon ra recovery (that's the one to use right?)

CarbonROM, LiquidSmooth, and Tachyon are some great ROM choices, although for GSM service a sense based ROM may be the best bet.
Amon Ra is no longer the recommended recovery for any ICS/JB based ROM, you should use TWRP or CWM Recovery.

You are on much older apn's if you are in fact on T-Mobile and not a t-mobile based carrier....pm me and ill get you on the proper apn's...just remember you will only get edge speeds though.....3g or 4g on t-mobile is close to impossible for the rezound.....and acejavelin is right....get rid of amon ra as it will cause you many bugs in jb roms
Edit: i also noticed for apn type you only have mms written...not how it works on the rez
heres what you need
Name: T-Mobile
APN: fast.t-mobile.com (if fast.t-mobile.com doesnt work use epc.tmobile.com) i suggest using fast.t-mobile.com first
Proxy: leave blank
Port: leave blank
Username: leave blank
Password: leave blank

Did you go into RomTools and set network standard to GSM mode and hit menu the click save ptions? Before you even do this make sure you have root installed if you havent installed it.. ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=44977934&postcount=24 ) and use TWRP to install ROMS

No problem
I have been running aokp_quincyatt_kitkat_unofficial_2014-03-12 on my I717 , with god knows what modem and had network coverage.
I then flashed the i717-ICS-UCLF6-Modem and had network coverage, right after I seen that working I then flashed BeanStalk-4.4.285-20140426-quincyatt
only to find after the reboot I have not network.
I have also flashed a few other Modems one the beanstalk ROM such as:
UCLF6 Model Download
UCLF5 Modem Download
UCLE2 Modem Download
UCLC5 Modem Download
UCLD3 Modem Download
and still no network, I then flashed KIES_HOME_I717UCMD3_I717ATTMD3_1117019_REV02_user_ low_ship.tar via odin (by the way that rom runs slow as hell) hoping the stock modem will fix it,,,,,but no.....
after flashing all them modem the phone shows no network coverage and if you go into the settings and search for the network it finds Telecom NZ and Vodafone NZ, I click on my carrier (telecom) it shows a message registered to network and then another one pops up saying limited access to the network.
Im stuck now, I have no idea where to go from here.
Any help would be great

Yes I have
Sounds like you are not on ATT. Did you enter your APN info in "access point names"? It can't find your network if it doesn't know what it is looking for.
