Hi, I accidentally set a screen density at 240, while my phone's original value was 160, so now I can't unlock my lock screen, since the screen is too large. I tried to boot into factory recovery mode to do a hard reset and everything went back to original expected for the screen.
Then the problem now becomes more complicated, I can't check both USB Debug and Install From Unknown Resources and I also lost SU access.
The phone that I am using is China phone, running CPU MTK6516.
Does anybody have any idea how to fix it ?
Anyone can help me ?
try installing lcd screen resolution from the market or side load the app and set it back to normal
Try flashing your rom again. That should change the density back to normal.

Yup. Rom reflash will reset build.prop values.

My phone is a china phone - W008+ using CPU MTK6516, I contacted a manufacturer but they didn't provide a firmware.
I really don't know where to find a firmware for it.
Can anyone know which customised firmware can be used for this phone and where I can get it ?
Thanks in advanced.
do a nandroid backup. use build.prop editor from market and you can edit the specific value and save and reboot.

Thanks. But my phone is china phone, so I don't know how to perform a nandroid backup. The factory recovery only has: test, check ram, clear flash ( I tried but no luck) and reboot.
Second, I can't bypass a lock screen, since the density is too high and I can't see a unlock button. Thus, I can't download or use any apps inside the home screen.
Anyone can help me ?
Unbrick W008+

So... the change of LCD Density failed xD
Such a bad time, right at the time i was about to sleep, damm it!
LG P500 unbranded "C" firmware with stock, rooted 2.2 [Froyo]
so far, i know that LCD Density changer, changes a value inside proc.amp ... so that file might be "corrupted" or not supported and my cellphone cannot boot now!
[Stuck at android boot logo after LG's splash]
The phone opens up normally, being charged over USB or stock charger.
1) is there any way i can put the original proc.amp file on system?
2) i suppose i just lost all my settings, sms, apps if 1) cannot be done, right?
[totally stock LG P500, rooted only! no custom things, flashes, etc etc]
Im in need of help here, so make it as noob friendly as it gets...
thanx in advance!

Try to connect to phone via adb shell (how-to about adb look on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=900905 ) Try to connect during start up time to time. If this will not work, you will have to do update via KDZ and you will lost every data, which was not stored in SDcard.
Thanks for fast answer buddy!
Adb didnt work, so i used that guide for bricked phones succesfully!
Aparrently there is much work to do now, reinstalling all i had... but nevermind, we learn from mistakes

This is reason why I bought Titanium Backup - in pro version you can do backups automatically at night. It saves my ass many times and I had my money back after first usage.
Yes indeed, never thought that things will be that bad, so ... here we are now
What is actually supposed to happen when you hold volume down and power? I get asked to push power up, and then an android appears with some blue ish girder thing sticking out of his stomach. Then it is replaced by another android lying on his back with a keypad on his stomach and a warning sign hanging above. What does this mean?
I am running ics and haven't done anything to the OS or rooted
There's not really a point of going into recovery at this point. Using the stock recovery we can't flash ROMs/kernels or make backups.

If you have the firmware update.zip on the root of the MicroSD card itll flash it, thats all ...
Useful if your in a bootloop.
If you just want to apply the update from a working system, a warning triangle will appear in the notification bar when you have inserted a microsd card with the update.zip in.
P.S. you can only flash the same or higher firmware ... you cant downgrade (and also make sure you get the right region. US, WW etc etc...
Can I not use it to reset the system? My keyboard dock is not working, so i'm desperately searching for ways to make sure it's not a software issue

It's similar, but my dock doesn't really work at all. It does charge, but the keyboard, trackpad and usb slot have never worked at all.
okay, so I bought a basically brand new galaxy tablet 10.1 today, and rooted it using this method.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1239185
no problems whatsoever, re-booted and everything seemed fine. I then tried to install BigDX Xoom|Zoom Theme and the **** hit the fan...
it would load my lock screen, but instead of a lock it had a TINY picture of a little grey lock inside of a grey square, if i tapped it and then tried to slide it "it wouldn't just slide" I would get an error message and then the tablet would freeze and restart. if I didn't touch the lock it would just keep restarting about every 45 seconds. I went back into ClockworkMod Recovery and did the factory reset "maybe a mistake?" it asks me to select my region but then gives me an error message and keeps restarting. can I just restore original firmware through odin or something like that? I'm not much of a hacker, just occasional customization stuff.
please help me... I never even got to use my tablet, this was the very first thing that I did

Did you make a backup before you flashed it?
You can also download a stock firmware from www.sammobile.com and flash through Odin if you didn't

I didn't really know about backing it up before I did it... ... so I guess next time I should root > backup using the same recovery clock screen "volume buttons"> and then as long as I don't completely brick it restore from that?
I'll try re-flashing through odin. what do you think happened? no one else seemed to have a problem with that theme, and I really like the way it looks.
also I'm kind of confused by that site... which firmware do I need?
What device do you own and where are you from? Need english based rom?
Fingertyped on Samsung galaxy tab 10.1" 32GB WiFi
If you just bought it and don't care about your data, just odin back to stock. For instructions, here's a video link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KYBs98R9rTs and here's a thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1474971 look at the second half of the first post.
Hello,
I have this phone: i9600 Smartphone Android 4.2 MTK6572 Dual Core 1.2GHz 5.0 Inch 2.0MP Camera- Black (bought on Pandawill (a website))
It was rooted.
And I changed my density using LCD Density Modder to 220. (default = 240)
Now the phone is stuck in a bootloop.
I can boot into recovery mode using ADB (there is no key combination to get into recovery mode through phone)...
But that is pretty much useless, since I don't have the stock ROM to flash.
I also can't push my edited build.prop since the /system filesystem is read-only.
I can't change it with write-permission, because su in adb doesn't seem to work. (cmd freezes/does nothing)
I think this means that the phone is in a too early stage to use su.
The main issue is: I can't find a ROM for this phone, otherwise I would have reflashed it..
I've asked the shop where I bought the phone for the ROM, they will give it to me as soon as they get it... (I think that will take a long time)
I hope anyone can help me to make my phone working again.
I don't care if I loose all data.
I really need the phone to work again quickly...
I won't play with density ever again :/
Thanks in advance,
Abiram26

Help?
Hi
I tried rooting my Lenovo Tab 2 A8-50F with this guide "How-to-Root-a-Lenovo-Tab-2-A8-50F" from lenovo forum.
After finally installing TWRP there was a problem when the device was just rebooting into TWRP all the time because of "data could not be mounted" problem.
I tried restoring it back to old recovery, and I found recovery_stock.img added with the files, so I installed this stock img but now I cannot get to any recovery mode?
If I try volume (+) and power button it just restart itself, also same with volume (-) and power button. If I try both buttons it just goes into "dead command mode" (android logo image with red exclamation mark) and nothing happens. Is there anything I can do at this point? Can something be uploaded to SD card and booted somehow?
Edit:
I just tried using Firmware + Download option and now I'm getting BROM error :/... I tried searching for ROM so that I could flash the tablet with FlashTool but I can't find it anywhere. Does anyone know what can be done in this situation because now the tablet isn't even powering up?
Thanks!
Did you tried to flash your stock rom back and do all again?

I don't know where to get flash stock rom. I didn't find any stock rom available for this tablet. I went to lenovo site but there are only folders, which I guess need to be changed into stock rom so that I could update if rom FlashTool?
Edit: I tried to use Lenovo_Tab_2_A8-50LC stock rom, but it showed some NAND error, now I can't event try flashing it anymore, when I click on download in FlashTool and connect the tablet it just ignores it and nothing happens...
Please, don't do this type of thing... I don't know how to solve it now... Never try to flash a stock rom of another device into yours, even if it has the same chipset, ram count and processor... this causes changes at the binaries, and some functions can be lost, like camera, touch, fisical buttons. I guess... This can cause irreversible changes on the device, tell you with personal experience... I had an device which had two variants, model MB525 and MB526 (Defy from motorola) and I flashed an stock of MB526 and mine was a MB525 this made my phone hard brick... After this, it never turns on again... Any type of signal. Your device presents any signal of power? If your device come to this I guess, don't know if it can back again to turn up...
Flash is a powerfull thing... Remind of "flashing" like subscribe all your mind... Bringing an example to our body, its like fill the brain of a people with the basics commands of wake up, breath, live, talk and others.
Please, tell me what signals you can have, that I can try to show you an path.
