Does anyone know where to buy an Ear piece speaker replacement? Mine is starting to go out... I don't have a contract, so no insurance.

i dont know if you will find just the ear piece, but you can buy a broken amaze and use it for parts...
even without insurance you should be able to get a warranty replacement. HTC has a 1 year warranty for hardware.
How long does it normally take for htc to do a hardware replacement?
Does the amaze use the same ear speaker as the Sensation or any other phone? I don't think I can get a warranty replacement...
And I would rather just replace the speaker, and clean the front camera while I'm in there.

my htc hero is all scuffed round the edges
is there any way to replace the plastic or get a cover up
or if worst comes to worst what will activate the warranty so they send me a new device?
nuke it in the microwave, that will **** it up lol
Suck it up and buy a new phone then. There is no way your provider should ship you a new phone. Every dollar they spend on a bogus claim is two dollars they have to get back from other subscribers.
If you really must, then tell them your mother washed your jeans with the phone in it. Stick to your story.
Well, it's irrelevant for the warranty whether his mother washed the Hero or i he damaged it some other way. In any case it's NOT a case for warranty and andyp123 should be ashamed for breaking his phone and then wanting someone else to replace it.
There are insurance policies for that... of course you have to buy them when you get the device, not when it's broken already.
i havent broken it, did any of you actually answer my original question about the scratches?

You can buy a case or a phone skin to hide the marks.
+1 for buying a case.
A full refurb will cost you just over £100 for the hero. and if you send it in with cosmetic damage, and try and screw it up some other way, it's probably come up as out of warranty anyway.
Guys,
I have a situation here.. My dell Streak fell down and broke my screen, i called dell warranty and told about it and they said pay 300 usd and get it replaced.. buy i have already ordered my screen from Ebay.. Suddenly my ear piece speaker stopped working.
I don't want to mess things anymore and having to replace them myself. So since my earpiece is not working, should i send the phone to dell so that they might replace the whole phone since screen is broken?
or call them back and say screen broke in my pocket and get a new replacement????
Awaiting suggestions guys.. really need some help here...
Thanks,
Raj
I doubt the glass would break in your pocket, so, if its under warranty, get them to fix the earpiece for you, then when it returns, you can invalidate the warranty replacing the screen yourself.

Well .. i had my Streak 5 in my pocket and when i sat down one time, the lcd broke. It didn't get any bumps and it did not fall down. And warranty doesn't replace it.
The irony is that on the box it says "Pocket friendly (tm)" ..

I am not surprised its possible, best thing to do, put your beloved in a Otterbox Commuter or Defender.
Would the headphones be covered by the insurance if they were to break or stop working?
____________
Neuter & Spay your stupid friends.
Highly doubt it, AFAIK, the insurance only covers the phone. Same as other package deals they have had. Wouldn't hurt to try though.

No, but, it would be a warrantied item through Verizon just like any other accessory. You should have 1 year standard warranty on any accessory you buy and/or comes with your device.
I had my left ear bud go out....so I called vzw and a rep sent me the $99 ones that is listed on there site. Not sure if it was a one time thing, but I just told them that I needed my headphones replaced and that is was covered from the warranty. Wasn't sure if it would work, but it did.
Semper Primus
No, in the asurion booklet they send you it says it covers basic accessories that where lost or damaged with the phone. I don't think the beats fall under "basic" but it covers car chargers home chargers and cases bought from Verizon
if you get a replacement it wont be through asurion. received my replacement rezound and it was just the phone & battery. they said they didnt have the headphones to provide nor did they even have the usb cable. when i asked for the usb they just sent a standard micro usb and on top of that was only 1ft long.
I believe you get a 1 year warranty thru htc for the beats. I believe you can take them to corporate, and they will trade them out. That is if they were damaged in a way that falls under warranty.

just fyi
I doubt Asurion would help you out with 'just' the headphones but...
I called in for a replacement, paid the 99 bucks and got a whole new phone, beats headphones and all, the entire retail packaging, everything...
This sort of replacement may not last though as I'm sure as more people 'break' phones instead of losing them they'll be getting refurb units in to offer up for replacement
So my wife dropped her Rezound and the screen cracked. We do have the insurance through Verizon and figured I'd check here before calling Verizon since I need to know how to play this and get a replacement. Will they replace my phone or will they only replace it if our phonse is lost or stolen? Does anyone know how much it costs to get a replacement.

With a cracked screen it will cost $99 to replace. If it was a defect with the phone it would of been free. Kinda sucks but its better then shelling out $200+ for a new phone cause of the insurance. This is from personal experience with my own rezound.
seems pretty lame since that's about what it would cost me without the insurance.

If the picture isn't distorted and your glass is simply cracked, just get a Rezound LCD Digitizer with tools from amazon or ebay and some 3M 2mm digitizer tape. It'll only cost you 30 bucks to repair your screen, and you can choose between getting a verizon branded or unbranded digitizer while you're at it.

ugh, i tried this..only do this if you know what you're doing...i sure as hell didn't, and there's NO repair how to video out there about how to re-assemble the screen..they all convieniently skip that part. i ddin't even know i had to buy new adhesive since nobody said anyhting about that...
in the end, i have a screen with smudges on the LCD from the adhesive i had to pick at, since it was clearly visible underneath the digitzer, and then of course there's dust all over the place because it's impossible NOT to get dust under there, and the ribbon cable is peaking through the top, and i'm sure there's gonna be screen lift at some point. oh, and my bezel is def warped and bent out on the left side from prying with that stupid safe pry tool to get the digitzer out....clearly it isn't so safe!
oh and not to mention that my menu button doesn't fully light up anymore like the rest of them, because apparently you hvae to get teh LED's on there JUST RIGHT for them to light correctly.
yeah it cost $30, but it was a gift to my brothers wife until she can upgrade in a year...sure, she doesn't notice any of that, and it's a huge upgrade from her fascinate, but my brother and i sure do. we both did it together, and if me, someone who tinkers with electronics all the time, and him, a mechanical engineer, can't get it perfect, i'd say to just get the insurance replacement lol i would have, def, especially if you're as picky as me.....
Me doing it myself is probably not going to happen.

$99 later and a new rezound in hand.
Next question!
If I got a lemon, do I just deal with Assurian or can I get a replacement thru Verizon? On the screen when I got the phone it said 1 year Assurian warranty. Do I cancel my $7 a month insurance?
Thanks for the insight if anyone has experience beyond my point so far.

no i think you need to keep asurion to get it replaced warranty wise through asurion. and yeah, you call verizon, but asurion is who warranty replaces it
I wish I could find a way to get another S3 but if she dropped the Rezound, the S3 would have no chance of survival.

Has anyone had any luck getting this phone repaired out of warranty? Im having a hell of a time finding a place that can/will do repairs on this device, most of them cant even get parts.... The last HTC i had also had a blown speaker.. I was able to order a new speaker on ebay for a few bucks and replace it my self in about 15mins. Obviously not the case with this one
The cost really outweighs the option of the repair. I had my first one 3 days before the screen cracked. Now im not sure about now but the glass alone for the repair was going to cost the retailer 200.00. You could probably buy a newer or new One S off Craigslist or Ebay for less than that. Turn around and sell the broken one to.an.electronics shop for parts. That's what I did. I work for T-Mobile so getting a new one wasn't a problem. There's a guy on here that asked for a donor One S. He is experienced with glues and thinks he can find a way to open it. If he can then a repair may be an option. Most electronics.stores will just say the it was not built to be dismantled and refuse to work on it. Good luck man
