Sorry If this has been asked already.believe me i have tried searching. My phone is on official cm7 rc1 and works fine except at random times, about twice a day, it says sd card is safe to remove. It won't let me use any application on my sd card after this and it won't let me remount it again. How can i fix this? Is it a kernel problem? Thanks a lot!

Hi! Have the same problem. I have the same 7.2 rc1.
But the interesting thing at home the issue never came out, but some places every ten minutes after reboot. When i had the original 2.2 froyo, i had the reboot issue came out, that places, and never at home. Sorry for my bad enlish!

Hi! Try switch to only 2G. It worked for me !

Can anyone tell me why Cynogenmod, MIUI, and Vanilla Gingerbread all have problems reading my SD card? I REALLY want Vanilla Gingerbread but it won't read my card like the others. It flashes but keeps saying "SD damaged." It won't let me use it. I reboot, do a battery pull, and do a hard reset but nothing works! It works fine on my PC. It works fine on Evil Fascination and Community Rom! I hate stock! Any help is appreciated! I've only been an Android user for 2 months now and still learning!

It's a known issue that has been popping up with the latest vanilla gb and CM7 roms. It is not an issue with the v2 rom of VGB or earlier.
nobody really knows for sure. I would just stay away from those roms until it gets figured out...atleast I am.
Has anyone tried v 2 of jt's kernel? He claims that it helps with the SD card issue

Well, I bypassed the SD card errors. Now it was getting gapps to flash. I just gave up and went back to stock. Also, for some reason, my Nandroid backups won't work. It says it has an error restoring system. I'm sick of using titanium bu just to get my apps back. Ill continue to try different things if Nandroid would just work. Anyone know why it doesn't work?

So I haven't flashed a nightly rom since cm7 nightly build 10 because it disrupted my SD card. So I haven't been on the forums since then so I feel out if the loop. Do we know if my SD card is fried and unable to use again. And if so where's the best place to get a new one

Back it up if you can, and if not you could lose all your data on it. I know a lot of people get them working again with just a reformat sometimes you have to use another device to format it completely...camera, xbox, or PC,...I use my digital camera and it works great

I dont know if this has been addressed but i am having problems downloading ROMS and things from xda. Keeps telling me file is unsupported. If there is a fix can someone please point me in the right direction or any info would be much appreciated. Thanks and sgain sorry if this has been answered

Download astro file manager. After install open application and click file manager. Then hit ur phones menu button and choose preference. Scroll to bottom till u see enable browser download and check it. U can then exit application. Should work now. That's how I fixed issue on my photon.

Hello everyone, first post since joining. I have a 16GB SD CARD which was partitioned for use in my previous phone (HUAWEI ASCEND running CM7.2 which had DT'S A2SD incorporated into the ROM, partition size of 1GB & 32 swap).
My question is this :
As I am still stock & un-rooted,is their any added benefit to leaving the partitioning in place or should I delete the partition. THX!
BTW, I've had the phone for only a week & still getting acclimated w/it, will probably root sometime later, very pleased w/the overall performance @ this point.

I don't see a reason to keeping it as CM7 for a different device won't work on the Photon. But that's just me. So it's basically a partition of information that is not usable.
I was not near a comp at the moment but wanted to download something for later use. I usually use my laptop. But that method worked so thanks for the help. Medic

For some reason no matter what rom I use I get reboots. It happens at random. I have ran stock, cm7, miui, longhorn. I have done full system wipes in cwm and factory reset in settings menu. Is there a fix for this? I have also tried different kernals to no change. I have had my streak for 2 weeks. Bought it new. It is rooted with cwm.

try to change\upgrade baseband before install a new rom.
100% the problem comes from internel sd card, i used to have this problems, after testing dif. rom and settings, i got the impresion it was from the internel sd card and change it, and no more reboot problems, it's a good thing because i could sell it, and i sold it last week.
Ok seems it was the internal SD. I tried adjusting CPU and still reboots. Tried changing baseband. Still reboots. Switched out internal SD with 8gb class 4 and no more rebooted and phone is faster....loving it. Thanks for everyone's help and input.

Yes my problem is resolved. It is easy fix and took only 10 minutes. If u run into any problems let me know.

For changing internal sd you have to cut out a little part of your ds5
U can find a videofor this on youtube ...... Or u can serch tgis topic on xda...its already discussed....they suggest class2 sd card...... So u can look for yourself

Which way do you use to fix your streak
I suggest to open the streak and do not cut it. But do wathever you thinc is easy. To me is more easy to open the streak then to cut it.
yeah.. if you cut it.. it will look not good... and devalue the streak even further...

Ok maybe next time I'll try to open my Streak cuz
for now my Streak has not rebooted again.
I tried to reformat my Ext SD to FAT32 and it worked untill now

I've switced out Inner SD but a few moments later my Streak returned reboot and stuck on logo "Dell" so I flash new ROM (Stock ROM 407) but the same thing happen again.

U need to partition the new SD card. I used an 8gb SD and set 1 partition at 2gb and the rest in a 6gb partition. Once I did that everything worked great.

Whenever i unlock my phone it shows sdcard removed unexpectedly or damaged sd card..
But it automatically mounts it!
Sometimes doesn't..
Its happening from yesterday evening.
I was using darky rom.
Now i'm on alliance with siyah kernel.
But still problem persist! :'(

yeah, but make sure it's a hardware issue first
Your SD is crap, try another or use Perseus (It have timeout increased)
change the rom, if your SD is crap, remove it and buy a high performance one, change rom to stock to see the diffrence if the problem persists...

Some other forums around with same issue guarantees its not an hardware issue
So lets hope for the best as I dont wanna give it to samsung care because I hv heard that they put local parts sometimes

well, this has happened to me after I dropped the phone - so I swapped the slot. so it might be hardware after all, the chance is small though

What card are you using and is it backed up. This may just be a one off, but it could be a sign that your card is on the verge of failing, classic sign of failure with SanDisk cards, whatever back it up and hope.
