Hey guys,
I wonder if you can help! I had a HTC Desire with no problems throughout its contract and upgraded to a Titan.
Current carrier is Orange and it was bought around release from Carphone warehouses online company.
I like the phone as I mainly browse, mail and text so the huge screen was the selling point for me.
All was well until yesterday when I rang the other half and couldn't hear her, and as it turns out she couldn't hear me either. So I then discovered that no sounds will work and obviously the mic doesn't either. I have tried many resets, powers off with battery pulls and restore factory settings. I have also fully updated.
I thought I was on to a winner when I plugged in the headphones, sound could be heard through them and after some plug in and outs sound was restored without them in. 20 mins later of being rested on a table all sound was gone again. I repeated the process with the exact same results and thought I must have dirty contacts within the jack slot. I imagined the phone thought a handsfree was plugged in when it wasn't!
Unfortunately I get no sound at all again through any means now, not even with headphones. And when I plug headphones in and out they are recognised both ways by the greyed out settings appearing and disappearing!
I searched but didn't find any similar problems on the web and on here. I unfortunately cancelled the insurance and sold my backup Desire! The phone has been dropped a couple of times in the past but no shocks to cause the current issue.
And ideas or where I go from here? It should have warranty right?
It couldn't come at a worse time really as the other half is due to give birth in 8 weeks
Take it to the shop they should Exchange...don't think it will have any problem... Any way did you updated the phone? If yes try a restore

Thanks,
Yeah I have tried all reset/restore options and updated. It is hardware and not a software related problem I believe.
I got it from Mobiles, a sister company/online for Carphone Warehouse. Just looked on their site and you still take it to Carphone Warehouse for repair. Hopefully that won't cost me, I just need to find the invoice!
Didn't they send you a copy of the invoce by email?

I had the same issue just seconds ago. Plugging in the headphones or headsets did not solve any issues. Luckily I've only had the phone for three days (calls worked earlier).
Power cycle solved the issue but this is not desirable from a phone. I mean everything else works fine but calling is quite essential.
If this issues reappears within my 14 return period, I'm certainly returning it.

I've noticed that when I take a call and my phone is plugged in, the call quality is horrible and it sounds like the signal is cutting out really bad. I typically have three bars at home so that shouldn't have much if anything to do with it. When I unplug the charger from the phone, the call instantly sounds like it should and will immediately start cutting out again if I reconnect the charger. Before I exchange my phone (I'm still within my 14-day return period), has anyone else noticed this?
I can tell you that mine works fine on a call while charging.
I just got off a 10 minute business call with the A/C charger plugged in and it worked just fine.
No issues here.

Never had that issue. Might be getting odd interference.
The same exact thing happens to me while I have my phone plugged into a ubs powered power cord in my vehicle.

This was the OEM charger. I called Verizon and the local store basically said they can look at it and maybe exchange it under warranty...but I was thinking I could exchange it within the 14 days for any reason, no questions asked. Maybe I'm wrong?

within 14 days, they will give you a new phone. otherwise, you would be looking at a refurb.
I took my phone in today and they swapped it out without much hassle. I explained I had done two factory resets (sort of true...one after unlocking the bootloader and then I had to reflash the RUU before I returned it) and the issue persisted. I also had an odd issue with one of my earbuds not always working. Sometimes I'd have to kind of push it into my ear and I'd hear a pop from it, then it would start working. Of course, they exchanged the whole deal for me. I haven't had time to test the call quality yet but I did notice I seem to get a better signal with this one and, on a side note, my volume buttons now have a nice sort of "click" to them where they felt kind of squishy, so to speak, on the previous phone. Minor thing but nice nonetheless.
Hi guys,
Ever since I flashed a sense less version of ICS (not blaming the ROM here, could be a coincidence), I've been hearing white noise on the left channel when I have headsets on. I tried 2 pairs and I hear the noise with both so I know it's not the headset.
The weird thing is that the noise starts immediately after I power up the phone. I did a battery pull, connected my headset, powered up the phone, and even before the HTC logo comes up, the noise will start.
Not ROM/Software related it seems, but here's the kicker, if I flash a new ROM, the noise goes away but only for a little bit of time, after a bit of usage, it'll come back. If I listen to music, sometimes it goes away, sometimes it just reduces a bit, sometimes nothing changes.
So I doubt it's the phone that's broken, it did happen right after flashing a senseless ICS Rom. I don't want to flash a full RUU yet because there might be a solution out there that doesn't require me to go back to stock so that I can install a full update.
Has anyone experienced this?
In case anyone is interested, I went to the Verizon store and I was told that although this is not a wide spread issue, it is actually a known problem. In some units, constant noise (even as the phone is booting up) will start happening when using the headset.
The person at the store didn't even check my phone, he simply started the process for a warranty replacement.
So if that happens to you, it's not the ROM, it's the phone itself.

Definitely interference from something because the noise changes as I open/close apps or just flip through launcher pages.
I have the same exact issue but my warranty through Verizon is void since I traded my iPhone 4S to someone for the Rezound. Mine was working fine and one day it just started having this issue. Took it in and they told me they couldn't help me since I voided my warranty by trading (plus I don't have insurance on the phone).
Contacted HTC and the told me that it was a known issue and to contact their warranty company to get it replaced/fixed. The warranty is still good on the phone, I just have to send it to NY with a letter explaining my issues. Kinda worried about just putting the phone in a box and sending it on it's way without a paper trail of some sort.
Glad you were able to get your phone replaced. Good to know I'm not the only one here that had this issue.
I also started having this issue, it didn't show up until about a week after having the phone, though. Nice to know it's one of the things covered under warranty that's easy to get worked on, though.
I've had the cpu noise issue on three different Rezounds now, HTC says it's fixable in software. I don't know when we will see a fix though, if ever.

The phone was bought new in May and unlocked in June because it's in another country. It came with Android preinstalled from T-Mobile.
The Wi Fi doesn't work, but that's a hardware problem and HTC won't fix it under warranty because the phone was unlocked. NOt a big deal, and not the problem I'm writing about.
Last night the battery died. Today, after charging the battery, the speaker and microphone don't work.
Anyone I call cannot hear me. There is no sound at all on the other phone. No static, Nothing! It's like putting your turned off phone to your ear.
And it is the same when they talk. I can't hear anything.
I took the battery out several times and that didn't help
Did a hard reset and that didn't help either. The phone was working fine until the battery died
does anyone know how to fix this problem?
Same problem
I have the same problem. I'm looking for a solution, otherwise I'll need to send it back. Did you ever find a fix? #frustrating

My HTC Amaze is almost doing the exact opposite. When I make or receive calls, I cannot hear people. They can hear me, but unless I put it on speakerphone, I am SOL. It works with bluetooth in my car just fine but it is a little aggravating to have to keep a call on speaker. Anyone else have this problem? I have done a hard reset, I called TMobile...they said they were unable to help. I have the insurance, but only for lost or damaged. As it was explained to me...TMobile cannot help me in regard to phone but...if I drop it in the toilet or run over it...the php insurance will cover it (with the 150 deductible) When I signed up for the insurance it was explained to me that it was like an extended warranty. However when I called tech support, I was informed that it was not... Help please
I picked up my first 920 from somewhere other than ATT. It initially had an small issue with its audio where the external sounds were not initially enabled. I did a hard reset to be sure, and both times it was off. Got past that and the phone seemed ok, until I unplugged it and hit the power button and it froze... HARD! No response from any button, or combination of buttons. I returned it and went to got the next one from ATT. This one started out perfectly, had no issue with sound. Then during a call it FROZE. Not as hard as the first one as connecting power and holding the <Volume Down> and <Power> buttons for 2-3 minutes finally rebooted it. That I have similar experiences with two phones says that there may well be something wrong the phone in general, and I am very surprised that I have not found it reported by others here. Have I missed something?

No, I don't think you have. The majority of them have been fine. In fact, mine has been perfect so far. Maybe the place you got yours got a bad batch?

Mine froze while trying to post using board express. It reboted and was fine. Other than that, no lockups since and I'm a heavy user.
I've also been having problems. After heavy use, it becomes very warm and tends to lock up.
I just uploaded a video to YouTube showing this.
http://youtu.be/x0KtZ7VCcTE
I can cause a hard freeze when jumping from bluetooth audio and back when nothing is selected to play. Other than that great phone..
Have this same issue with bluetooth - phone has locked up 4 times in two days. I didn't notice a correlation with nothing selected to play, so I'll check that. Typically I get into my car and the music just starts playing, and when I leave it pauses. Now it'll freeze when I get in and my car will say "Windows Phone operation not supported." After a minute or two (I usually power off the car stereo) the phone will come back with the song queued up at the top (as if I hit the volume). I hope this is addressed by the fix coming out in December.
Other than that the phone has been great - no issues.
Second Returned
I was in the middle of a conversation today and it just stopped. The call didn't drop, the phone just stopped, locked up hard for the second time. I return it and got a replacement (last day I could do it). It concerns me that there has not been more traffic about what seems to be a major issue with the 920

There's loads of complaints about this problem on the Nokia support discussions website, but there isn't a single common cause. Some have SIM card problems while others are blaming specific apps. Whatsapp and Facebook are two examples as well as Nokia Drive + Beta. Others have reported their phones freezing up after using a wireless charger.
Personally, I reckon it's the WP OS isn't at all stable and needs a serious patch.
We bought 2 at once - the one keeps freezing and the other never froze once. Both are using BTooth. However both are randomly rebooting, which I know they are patching.
But I wonder if the freezes and rebooting are related?
Mine hasn't rebooted to my knowledge but it does regularly freeze. It froze again on Friday and now refuses to power back on. I've repeatedly tried the two button and three button resets but the phone won't even vibrate. I've left it on charge using two different charges and tried the wireless charging plate but it's still dead.
Looks like its off to repair then. Not a good few weeks with the 920.
We took the one phone back to have it replaced. ATT obliged because it was within 14 days.
Still freezes. Only happens when on BTooth in the car.
I really hope a software updates this because it is a deal breaker!
Try setting the highest data speed to 3G for a while and let me know if that helps...

Mine freezes overnight when charging it with a wireless charger. every.single.time. Back to the store today as it is clearly defective, new one is already pre-ordered
Guys I have a strange problem with my lumia 920. When I use the phone while it's connected to the wall charger sometimes it's touchscreen becomes unresponsive. When I have to lock and unlock the phone using the power button everything again becomes normal. This happens quite a few times while charging.
Other than the above mentioned problem my phone froze once for which I had to do soft reset.
I want to ask is this happening with me only or others are experiencing it too.
And is there any solution to it??
Thanks in advance.....

I know this thread had been on here already and i look for help but still found no resolution to the problems. So Please i am bringing it up again to see if any help can be offered again.
This started back in April, my phone suddenly stopped charging one day from any outlet, charger and even through the computer. There are times it charge but very slow and other times it won't charge at all. I have tried new chargers, batteries, outlets, rebooted and even had new roms in there. All did not do anything to help. I purchased this phone from Expansys- USA. The warranty was still good so I sent it in. The wait time was 6-8 weeks.
Those bastards at Samsung made me wait 3 months and I barely got it back this week. After 3 GODDAMN months in repair, it came back in no better condition than when it left. WTFFFF!!!!!
Now I am extremely angry for wasting my time like that. Since it came back, i have more problems than when it left. The phone now does not recognize any charger other than the Samsung Official charger. It will only light up the charging symbol from a Samsung charger or when i plugged into a computer. Other than that it won't recognize any other charger. Now the first day i got it back, it charged fine. Then a few hours later, the same problem surfaced and now i am back at square one.
Please help me, this is really frustrating and i have not found any solution anywhere on this forum or other sites. Even Samsung didn't do jack for me. Now my only options left are to get a new phone (which i do not want to) or replace the USB ports, and I am not even sure if it is the USB ports.
PLEASE HELPPPPP!!!
It is sad to hear that your S3 is not working, nevertheless be careful with what language you are using .
maybe this will help: https://www.google.com/search?q=S3+...xda&rls=com.microsoft:en-US:{referrer:source} ??
you could try to get back to the service centre?
otherwise, if you are not satisfied with Samsung buy another phone...
get a short, thick charging lead, this solved my charging issues.

Thanks, but the service center is in the UK for international S3 and i have no contacts with them. Expansys USA won't give me any info.
Try use another cable, i encountered the same problem, i changed 3 charger but my problem was cable.
Okay thanks for reassuring me that warranties are not only carp in my country. Maybe your port need cleaning, also does your phone enter driving mode at random? As I had a similar issue.

Problems with electronic items aren't uncommon, failures with Samsung don't appear any higher than most other manufacturers but do occur.
Buying a model with no warranty service in your continent is probably best avoided, you might have been lucky but the chance of requiring a repair during the two year period is worth considering.
The phone is not a piece of crap Its just your unluckiness. Hope you get your device repaired soon

I dont mean to offend anyone, I apologize for it. I mean to say that Samsung is not helping me out as it should. I have tried numerous cables and also clean my ports many times.
Unluckiness may be this time for me, but my issue is not an isolated incident. However, coming from a high tier phone like this is disappointing.
I have tried contacting Samsung UK who told me they handle warranty repairs through a 3rd party. I contacted that 3rd party, and i'm not sure if that 3rd party is the one Expansys-USA sent my phone too. However, that 3rd party said they don't handle international repairs -__-, back to square one. Now that i got my phone back, I really don't know what to do. I believed i have exhausted all my options and now trying to replace the port. But I don't see any issues with it, but i'll update after. I really can't afford another phone.
I had a recent similar problem with my phone refusing to charge or taking 2-3 hours to increase by a few miserable percent. This followed some slight liquid (beer) entering the reverse of the phone following a boozy night out that resulting in no recollection of what actually happened. I suspected the battery had suffered liquid damage and following contact with EE regarding a possible replacement on the insurance I paid for they refused to replace it (I never told them what actually happened). A week or so later I simply tired using another charger which worked without any issues at all. Reverting back to the original for confirmation, this did the same thing as before. I was fortunate not to have ruined the phone and/or battery and the issue came back to the charger. It's always worth a shot
WEll the phone finally wokrs now!! ANd the problem was hardware this entire time -_-.....i replaced the usb port and everything good again. The usb port didn't appear to show any signs of wear and tear either. Well now this is my solution for those with similar problems. thanks for all your help again.
