I did a Google search and did not find anything related.
As we already know/experienced, the sound quality on cellphones when playing music on headphones/earphones is not that good. Someone might suggest boosting the audio file with pc software or even using a 3rd party app to make the sound better/louder on the phone, but this usually does not help that much, if not make the sound even worse.
So this got me thinking... what if we could somehow harness the power of our portable x-fi go soundcard. It's a soundcard integrated in a USB stick.

So what would theoretically be needed if this is to be implemented.
* Female USB to Male MicroUSB/MiniUSB cable, to make a connection between the stick and the cellphone.
* Android drivers for Creative X-Fi Go, so that the cellphone can detect the stick and utilize its magic power.
* If the cellphone is not able to give enough power to the USB card, there's always the possibility to split the power cable of the usb cable and connect it to a external battery.
Anyone here with greater knowledge know if this is possible?
If this idea becomes real, we will also eliminate the need to buy external amps like Fiio.
If this problem has already been solved, then please point me to right directions because i did not find anything related on Google or xda search.

I'm sure this is possible but I don't see the benefit of it. The sound on my device I think is awesome as it is. Investing in some good headphones will probably be a lot more beneficial than implementing this idea.

I'm using Samsung Galaxy S2 with Sennheiser HD215, and believe me, there's a huge difference, when listening to music on my laptop trough X-Fi vs sg2 with my headphones.

I think the audio quality on my Android devices are fine, the sound is usually limited by the quality of the input file since I'm usually playing lossy formats like MP3. On GB or newer you can get a system wide EQ app, I use Equalizer. It will allow you to set and EQ and bass boost which can make earbuds sound a lot better.
If the audio simply isn't loud enough from your phone you could get an external headphone booster. Boosting audio in files or via an EQ too much will only lead to distortion, where as a headphone booster is a small amplifier that runs from external power and amplifies the analog audio output. These will be helpful when powering larger headphones.

I am known to headphone amps, such as FiiO. That's why i was wondering if someone knew how to create some sort of android drivers for creative x-fi usb sound card, and i could use that as an amp instead of buying a new one.

I want to see support for USB sound cards not so much for playback but for recording! There is currently no way to get sound from a microphone into an android thing.
An app that made an android sound studio using a USB sound card would be a major winner. Yeah, drivers and all that but hey!

i'm not a hardcore programmer, but i'm pretty sure if someone actually got a sound card working, the recording part would follow along.
How about porting X-Fi functionality from Creative ZiiO 7 tablet. think it can be done if the X-fi is not hardware base unlike, Beats, xLoud can be ported to other devices.
people with stock earbuds will never notice a difference lol. people who invest in premium earbuds of $150+ get used to the higher quality available on high quality audio devices. and yes my samsung galaxy note has horrible sound compared to the x-fi mp3 player.
the x-fi crystalizer is no marketing gimmick. it's an audiophile's wet dream. i sometimes process things through it like a real-time sfx filter haha

I've stopped using gs2 to listen to music long time as the volume is too low and also finding harder to drive my headphones to full. Just only yesterday, my iriver broke and in the market for new player. Thinking whether should be better off with just getting Fiio E6.
yes, we do lack line out through usb (very hopeful that it'll be put on ICS) and the only way to connect is through headphone out which is already amplified.

think it's both. But yes normally I listen to a high level of volume and gs2 is the one of the lowest sounding device (ie through headphone out) i've ever owned. Not made for each other and made worst by owning couple of higher impedance headphones.
i have been using a FiiO E5 from when i had a n900, i think the volume is too low on the s2 aswell, i think you can get them for less than 20quid now, deffo worth it imo
thanks for that. I'm almost set my heart to buy one of these for later to be paired with sansa clip+ or similar. Probably will be cheaper and better than cowon's or sony x's. It's just curious what will be the effect on sound which is already amplified as HO in gs2.
Try Voodoo Louder from the Market for a 6dB increase, or the app in my sig for more than that. I use Brainwavz M3's with this app & find I only need to have volume at around 30% even in noisy environments (public transport, walking around town).
I've not found the S2 volume to be too bad, but I've used both one of the small "pop up" speakers, as well as a full blown amp, and a car headphone in socket - all absolutely fine.
you've tried Equalizer?, is in the market, is very good. regarding your original question, i use mine with logitech LB21, and it's sounds amazing.

with Poweramp I think the sound is louder than the music original application, you can find it on the market
yes i use the E6 - it works fine and the quality is good.
Do not use any of the EQ's etc as suggested here to get it louder. The samsung internal amp can only go so loud without distorting - all u are doing with software boosts is dynamically effecting the music you are listening to. Somewhat like the radio does. It makes all of the instruments in the track as loud as each other by compressing the loudest sounds and lifting the volume of the lower ones. If you really want to get a louder performance from your phone use different headphones - that run on less ohms or use an external portable amp like any of Eii's series.
that's a very good explanation. I've also tried with low impedance headphones but still lacks the "punch". My bad as in OP I used the wrong word "loud" instead of "punch".
so what's the effect of E6 on already amplified Headphone out? just to amplify few dbs on all spectrums??
Rockbox on [email protected] and [email protected] with Voodoo [email protected] did improve the overall sound. Also maybe in that time, my ears started to adjust with the sound coming off GS2. Found similar thread here where ppl's had good experience with amplifer. Ordered Fiio E11 and will post impressions arrive.
hey guys, i noticed that listening to music over my sony car stereo is not of great quality i tried all the settings in the sound, like clear audio etc, and dynamic settings and sound enhancement settings, i use power amp player and use music fx setting with it, also tried without it . Can someone recommend whats the best way to listen to music to over bluetooth, i also tried installing viper4android audio mod but something is putting me off when it comes to listening to music over bluetooth. my car stereo is sony bt mex5000
Try Player Pro with DSP Pack..if that doesn't do it. Plug it in with a regular cable to your car stereo and try that

tried it still the same not that good, is there anyone that can tell me what i need to buy to enhance and get best audio quality over bluetooth as i try to not use cables at all
Your ultra supports apt-x, so streaming over apt-x is the better bet, but not sure if your car supports it.

If you're streaming to a car stereo you have to take into account that you have 2 amps in play. You need the sound coming out of the phone as clean as possible, so turn off any enhancements including graphic equalising and just have a pure output. Otherwise you'll get double processing which will sound awful. This goes double for POWERaMP as it has probably the most powerful processing available!
Unfortunately your stereo doesn't support apt-x but you should still get good quality through a2dp.
You haven't said what's wrong with the sound though? Give a brief description.
I use mine on my parrot with PowerAmp and it sounds flawless.

interesting, i thought if i use enhancements on my phone like viper4android it will help in listening to good quality over bluetooth.
I use power amp, so you advise me to remove the also direct control from power amp, and the equaliser too from power amp, and streaming as clean as possible to my sony stereo and control the sound from there.
how about the tone on power amp and the limit on shall i turn them off too.
How bout the sony z ultra, it has sound mods too like clear audio and sound enhancement and dynamic normaliser should i turn then off too.
since i started playing with processing enhancements I started to hate listening to music altogether.
I just bought today jbl component speaker 4 of them, and jbl sub, so i would really like help in how to listen to great sound, and which player other than power amp is the best out there, i tried neutron player and i found it so difficult to get good sound out of it, especially when i played with enhancements
the sound i got before the jbls component was so muffled and so strange and irritating mids get lost, and if i turn up the mids the sound becomes so sharp and irritating to my ears.
with jbl its better now but i still am not where id like to be in listening to music over bluetooth, but i know my problem now mainly is to know how to stream music the best way from my phone to my sony BT mex5100. I know i my car stereo does not support aptx, so do u think if i buy a aptx bluetooth receiver like the uplay puck or kinivo it will help more or will it make no difference

Yeah, basically if you're outputting post processed sound to your car stereo, your stereo is doubling processing on top, so any bass or treble will be amped through the roof and so distort and hiss. Take as clean a sound into the car amp and then the amp can manage the levels properly within tolerance. Car amps are very difficult to replicate pure sound, they usually have some bias built in to make the most out of the environment and surrounding noise levels, plus they're a lot more powerful than any phone, so that's why you should rely on the stereo processing rather than amping the phone and running the stereo clean, just wouldn't have the same quality.
Also disable any Sony effects, they'll screw the output out also. Turn everything off.
Apt-x makes a big difference, so if you can, definitely look at a newer model, maybe pioneer or alpine or a high end parrot for great quality. With bluetooth, you definitely get what you pay for, so it's worth looking at the high end systems, and if possible test them out somewhere to find the one that's right for you. We've got Halfords in the UK where you can demo the systems in the shop, I'm sure there'll be something around wherever you are.

i checked the net and i could not find any car stereo that has bluetooth with aptx, so which aptx receiver shall i buy, I found so far kinivo or play puck is there something better than those, by the way i bought the sony sbh2 bluetooth headset do u think i can use it as a good receiver but it does not support aptx
today i received my sony sbh2 headset, i tried streaming music using its bleu tooth capability on my sony stereo bt mex 5100 which has bluetooth in itself. so when i compared streaming music using the bluetooth of sbh2 to my sony stereo the sound was worse than when i used the built in bluetooth of my sony stereo. I know that my shb2 does not support aptx, so I was wondering if I buy a dongle that supports aptx will it give me better sound on my sony stereo than the built in bluetooth of my sony car stereo which does not support aptx.
I don't want to waste money if it won't improve the sound quality

Is the reason being that the mic's on the device are not good enough? I believe they are among the best for phones, plus idk if you have the HD audio recorder app on your variant or model, but it does work amazingly well if you use the right settings (gain/levels). Been awhile since I read about the mic's but this phone uses more than 1 mic and they aren't junk, kinda what it was made for, idk if external mic would sound any better or not, especially w/o an expensive mic(s). But I initially bought an irig I/O audio interface that is compatible w/android for a mic or guitar with midi device and has that input and an output for recording, I got $400 worth of software included with the purchase (Amplitube 4 and more for free). BTW it is for sale and basically brand new if your interested, barely used replaced it with the 2i2) zBut for reference the irig i/o will do 24bit/96khz and the mic's and HD audio recorder on the phone will save Flac files up to 24bit/192khz. Or check out irig uo, was made for Android. I got my eye on the axe i/o which just came out for guitar recording, I wish they had these cheap modelers and Sims in the 90's, I think its awesome, I never had the money to buy the real equipment. Give some more info what your trying to do and maybe I could help more. Otherwise a usb audio interface on a PC is the way to go if you have one. Android is way behind Apple on compatible audio interfaces. I use the focusrite scarlet 2i2 that I use for my guitar with amplitube 4 amplifier Sims, it has 2 inputs for a mic and a instrument for recirding which is what (most) people use to make youtube videos. I could technically get it to work on my phone but not much to work with. Android needs to fix there audio latency issues, which is the reason companies don't bother making anything for it, getting more lately but it's not worth it imo, tons of stuff for Apple though but Ive never and will never buy an iPhone. Yeah, the ear speaker turns into a 3rd microphone during high decibel environments (like concerts).

Internal mics might be good but I need a professional microphone with a wind and noise protection and higher sensitivity, kinda the same they use on DSLRs.
I would like to use it for recording sound samples (nature, forest, etc)

A good usb mic and a USB interface is all you need then. Make sure the interface is compatible with whatever your using. The irig i/o would work with Android or the other one I mentioned above. I'LL sell it cheap to you if your interested.

So I'm going through an "audio quality" phase and I've bought a bunch of crap to make music sound better. I bought a T-Mobile V30 off of craigslist for $130 today, and I am planning on using it as an audio playback device in my car, and pretty much just keep it in my glove box. I have a BMW M5 with a Bang and Olufsen sound system (sounds is incredible) and I usually use my iPhone 11 to either stream via bluetooth or stream via USB using Amazon Music HD. I read fantastic things about this phone (tried to root it and just gave up lol) and I didn't expect streaming via USB cable would be such a hassle.
As I mentioned, streaming on an iPhone 11 via lighting USB cable works great, I am able to control the music using the steering wheel instead of fiddling with the phone itself.
Any suggestions of how to stream via USB to your car with the LG V30? I've done some searching around and it's just people arguing LOL. Again, I'm just trying to keep my steering wheel controls while enjoying high fidelity music

What makes the V30 a great music source is its high-end ESS Sabre DAC, used when you plug headphones into the 3.5mm port and enable Quad DAC in settings. It is superb, and can drive all but the most demanding headphones.
It can drive external speakers as well through a receiver or amp, but often sounds a bit thin in such setups. It really was made for headphones/IEMs.
When playing through USB, you're sending digital audio out of the phone, relying on an external DAC (in this case your car's audio system) and not using the ESS DAC. I've tried to do this in my Mazda with Bose audio, but not been able to make it work. I know iPhones work doing the same.
Bluetooth works (controlled from steering wheel) but will be lower quality than USB.
I think most high-end car audio systems were designed with the thinking that only poor people use Androids, so no need to bother with them. The marketing people who make these decisions are generally not the sharpest knives in the shed, you know :cyclops:
I appreciate the thorough response! Yeah I’ve only read good things about the phone, I have hd650s that sound meh because of the impedance but might get a portable external amp for the phone. Also this LG off of a 5ghz /connection downloaded 110gb of music 10x faster than my iPhone 11. I stayed up till 4am trying to root it, I’m not going to give up on the USB playback, I’m an optimist like that LOL
And talk about marketing, ironically amazon music partnered up with BMW and the car and app both give you a notification that it’s fully supported. I have nothing but time these days, if I find anything different I will update the thread.

Yes, please, I'll be very interested to hear if you succeed in playing USB audio through your BMW's audio system (nice car BTW )
First thing you want is probably get UAPP from the play store, if you haven't already. It's $8 you can't afford to save. It is both excellent at playing through external USB DACs (what it was made for originally) but also has dedicated support for the Quad DAC, maximizing quality through the 3.5mm port. It is one of only two apps that avoid molesting 16/44 music (CD quality), the other being Neutron. PowerAmp, while popular with many, CAN do it too, but only if you continually tweak its settings to match the exact sample rate of each track you're playing. At least last I checked.
Amazon Music HD does NOT work with our LG phones. It re-samples everything to 48KHz -- although it does a better job of it than the Android Mixer. But that won't matter in your case if Amazon Music can send music unmolested through USB. I don't know that.
As for the HD650, I never tried them myself, although several members comment on their use with V30 in the head-fi V30 thread. If you haven't already, make sure you also check the head-fi V30 Music apps, tricks and tips thread.
With ~100dB sensitivity the HD650 SHOULD theoretically be OK with V30. At 300 Ohm they will trigger High Impedance Mode (of course) with a max output of 2Vrms. They should definitely play loud enough. But maybe the low end gets a bit thin, depending on your preference and type of music. The ESS Sabre DAC used by LG is on the bright and analytical side, definitely not a bass head kind of DAC. An external headphone amp will help, for sure, although you may be better off then with a combined DAC/amp in that case.

I know this isn't likely but is there any chance features of AKG wireless headphones that are locked to Samsung devices will be ported to other devices? I have a Google Pixel 6 and just got a pair of AKG Y600 full size BT headphones. These support Bixby (Anyone really use Bixby?) and Siri but not Google Assistant. I'm not aheavy GA user but it's handy sometimes. My biggest issue is the UHQ BT codec is locked to Samsung devices.
Overall, I'm happy with these headphones at the current $60 closeout price but I'm pissed at Samsung for these deliberate "lock in" tactics.
You talking about the proprietary Samsung SSC bluetooth codec? It's proprietary to Samsung.
LDAC is the equivalent or better more than likely.
Both are not close to wired headphone audio quality. SSC and LDAC sound pretty good on buds and headphones but they would fall apart in open air listening through stereo drivers. Not enough sound stage.

If you're going to use bluetooth get something that supports LDAC. SBC can sound pretty good if you can use its maximum bandwidth.
If you want SCC get a used N10+ for a good price. You get up to 1tb expandable storage with that. Something both the new Samsung's and Pixel's flagships lack.
The N10+ excels as a portable media server. It's display is still one of the best ever produced. Gets better SOT too. SSC has it's downside too as only Samsung audio devices support it
It's a mess.
My ears aren't really good. I'll probably check these headphones to see how good they can sound by plugging them into the headphone port of my laptop. Of course, if I want to plug them into my Pixel, I will need a USB C to headphone adapter. Thanks for the suggestion of the N10.

You're welcome. If you have a direct wire connection option use it when convenient. Make sure the source material is .wav or higher resolution and that highest resolution output from the device is enabled. You will hear the difference. Use some harpsichord music if you really want to test it. Mp3's can't reproduce it well at all
For onboard music libraries Poweramp paid version is still the best player. It has an excellent graphic equalizer to dial the sound in.
