Go to htcdev site and unlock your device. You should be able to flash zip from recovery afterwards

I just kept flashing it until it worked. I once had to flash it 5 times before it worked, and more recently, I only had to do it once before it worked.

Open superuser and go to settings and update binaries. You also want to install busybox. There's an app u can dl that installs it for u called busybox conveniently

I have superiser but it has apparently malfunctioned... I cannot update binary... I have tried supersu but I think it needs superuser to kickstart it initially... so I am having trouble getting into recovery because I believe a dalvik wipe will fix... anyone know how to wipe dalvik without recovery, or root apps?

Is that even possible? I feel this wont do much good, but have you tried uninstalling superuser from the market, then re-installing?
How long have you been on cm7? Is this a fresh download or did this just happen out if the blue? I know you can not update binary but will any rooted apps open?
Good download. Just did a factory reset though and did not wipe dalvik..
Sent from my MB870 using Xparent Cyan Tapatalk
The only root app I've tried is the cm7 recovery which force closes....
I don't believe you can wipe dalvik from stock recovery can you?
Sent from my MB870 using Xparent Cyan Tapatalk
Is this a fresh install or have you been on cm7 for a while? Are you using the patched bsr for cm7 plugged into wall charger? Have you tried root checker app and see what it says its free.
Um not a fresh install. Have checked root checker... it says looking for root but never finishes... and I am well aware of the conditions for recovery mode. It don't work..
Sent from my MB870 using Xparent Cyan Tapatalk
Sorry if I ask questions you already know it just helps with troubleshooting. One last thing I would try is turning phone off and plug into wall see if bsr comes up if not I would sbf and start fresh but that's just me. Hopefully someone can help you out.
No bsr. Feelings hurt... well I knew I'd need to learn to SBF. If my assumptions are correct I cannot simply update the binary via zip with stock recovery correct? I can now vaguely recall something on the subject now that I have failed several times in flashing the superuser binary...
Sent from my MB870 using Xparent Cyan Tapatalk
Yes you must update the su binary before you even open the market and letting su update the app. Then I would recommend also using supersu. This will help with the root apps freezing when first open. Cm7 can be tricky you have to follow instructions to a T. I went back to CM7 last night. No issues with being rooted except zergeush for the first time gave me problems. Ended up going back and rooting with Pete's 1 click. But once you get it going it will be worth the hassle I also sbf last night to 2.3.4 but when zergrush would not work I even sbf to 2.3.3 then rooted and used voodoo root keeper to really root when I got on 2.3.4 not sure what happen I used the same zergeush on my same computer more than 10 times no issues. Last night was a first.

You have to do the big 3 wipe. Re-flash cm7,g apps, then teather. IN THAT ORDER. reboot, after setup of account DO NOT UPDATE APPS. First open SU and update binary. After you update binary manually you can go ahead and open market and update your apps. Hope this works for you

Remember the patched bsr for cm7 is not a flashable zip you install it like a app. Sounds like you need to sbf back and root with Pete's 1 click if zergrush is not working for you. Then start all over.
Try updating busybox, I had a similar issue on my Prime and after I uninstalled then reinstalled and updated Busybox it fixed the issue.
Like Travis said, SBF and start from a clean slate is always the best alternative.
This ISN'T my Transformer Prime
I was using the all-in-one tool, successfully unlocked the bootloader, but stuck on the flash recovery part. Does flashing a recovery give root access? And if so, how do I do it? I started up fastboot in the bootloader, then hit the flash recovery option in the all-in-one root program. Command prompt comes up , phone reboots, and I still don't have root access. Any suggestions? Thanks!
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using xda app-developers app
Recovery is just a part of the phone that is separate from the OS that you use to manage your system. You can install new ROMs, wipe old ones, make backups, and more.
Flashing recovery does not give you root. You can get root in recovery.
Okay, how can I tell if the recovery is installed, and how do I use it to gain root access? Thanks

Shut down your phone. Take out the battery, and put it back in. Press power and volume down simultaneously until you see the white hboot screen. After the green lines disappear, use the volume buttons to highlight and press power to select "recovery".
Once there, in "other" you can install superuser. If that doesn't work you can flash a zip that is laying somewhere around the forums but I don't have it.
Okay! Now we are in business. Installed super user. Phone boots up fine, going to attempt some tethering. Thanks!

and tried to install open recovery script using goomanager. It put me into the download mode. I was finally able to get out of it. Do I need to do anything to clean up anything or just wait till the me7 is able to install a custom recovery?
Today I was using nav a bit and my device turned off on me several times. I don't know what's causing that to happen. Don't know if it has something to do with root or not. Hasn't happened before I rooted.
If your device is in the window it could be overheating. You could try uninstalling any updates/data and re update if that doesnt work then I would flash the me7 image through odin and re root and see if that solves the problem. Im on an me7 based rom and dont have that problem.

Hey Hexitnow...Didn't want to hijack the other thread but you said to reflash. Do I just do that by running the script in the terminal emulator on the phone again like I did the first time?
That im not sure about i dont think there is an odin version for mac. I could be wrong tho because ive never really looked either. There is another program called heimdall (google it and you can find it, instructions are in the readme) and you should be able to flash using that. But I would try uninstalling any updates/data before hand and see if that solves it.

If you go into settings, more, application manager then scroll to the app in question youll see the options. When i say reflash I mean flashing the me7 stock image. After flashing it it puts your phone back to how it was when you first pulled it out of the box.
