Thanks for jumping in!
To start, I have sign off and was running the previous ARHD 1.1 version before trying to flash this.
So as per instructions I downloaded and installed 4EXT recovery (so far so good)
Then I Run SuperWipe and then flashed the firmware and I'm stuck at the white HTC screen.
I saw few people posting about this but then nobody mentions a solution.
I did find somebody that said that you need to flash the nw Hboot from juopunutbear (which I just did)
Anyway, if I reboot in recovery I get an error saying cannot mount/internal SD
and if I do a normal reboot I get stuck at the white HTC screen
I also got a message in recovery saying that there was a cache error and I should wipe everything but the SD (which I did) but still no changes.
If I do a factory reset, would I lose root and s-off nad goes all the way to when I bought the phone or having flashed a previous custom ROM changes anything???
Thanks,
Hey I remembered I helped you a while back!! Well, if you want to flash this Rom, I reccomend having s-off, and btw you don't flash the firmware through recovery, you flash it through hboot. Pm me if you want more help

I have rooted and installed superuser and recovery cwm v4.0.1.4
Now i downloaded a custom rom named virtious
So as usual like everybody does, i boot to recovery mode and selected the rom.
It shows that it has been installed successfully.
But after i reboot, it got stuck on the htc logo screen
I did try other rom but its a failure.
I search through the internet and nothing seems to be helping.
So i decided to unroot back and install stock rom.
I hope u guys can help me out with this.
If any of u guys knows other solution for the problem i m facing right now, PLS do help......

Maybe it will work if you try 4EXT recovery, i have great experience with it. maybe you can post the thread links of the roms you downloaded. or give some more information about your phone and the followed steps while trying to install the rom.

Are you on GSM? I don't think you should use these if on GSM but here is a link for all the RUUs, etc for E3d on sprint. http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/2154352-post28.html.
Also, if you're getting stuck on boot, you should always try to wipe everything( factory reset, cache, dalvik cache). this usually will fix errors on boot.
Lastly, I find HTCEvoHacks to be a dangerous site unless you already know what you're doing: my opinion.
Good luck!

You are S-ON now right? So if you want run moded ROM, you must flash kernel with fastboot after installation of the ROM.
If you want to S-OFF the phone :
You can use this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1471246
But it looks that you need working ROM before this....

Anyways on to the individual at hand.
What's your device info? Like hboot version, what android version were you on before trying to flash? ICS or GB?
Here's a basics run down on how to get things going again.
There's a stock ruu/ota thread in the dev section, grab the stock GB ruu for your device, put your phone into fastboot mode (check in the amaze bible thread how to do this), restore your device, if it's a zip file for your carrier, rename it to PH85IMG and place it on your sd card, reboot into bootloader and then hit volume up to restore the stock ruu.
If it's an exe file, put it into fastboot and run the exe file, follow all steps and restore the device.
Once done, update to ICS via the software update option available on your device under settings>about phone>software update
Once you're on ICS, flash a custom recovery via hasoon's tool, then reflash the rom you were trying to flash in the beginning.
Ask any further questions right here.

Then you´re probably s-on.
Did you unlock your bootloader? Do you have root access?
When booting into the bootloader it will say s-on or s-off.
I s-offed my phone yesterday with the same hboot, using the wiretrick here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1743466

You can also try to flash the kernel via fastboot.
extract the boot.img from the rom, put it in your fastboot folder and type in cmd 'fastboot flash boot boot.img'

Just download the hboot, rename it to PG89IMG.zip, put it on the root of your SD card and boot into bootloader. Then just accept to update hboot.

Used it myself, simply boot up into hboot with that file on your sd card, and accept.
Then it'll restart bootloader and voila, hboot 1.49.0007
The hboot wil also say 'locked' on top.

Damn somebody got hamed on by coal686. By the way homie, hamed is a term in Detroit used to describe somebody that got told off. But on a serious note, this site doesn't need pompous jerks trying to act like they are better by trying to sound intellectually brighter than somebody and having a smart mouth. This site is full of devs and users collaborating together to help one another. So there's no need to be a ****. I'm not name calling I'm just merely stating facts

It's all good. I edited mine to to be more straight to the point. Some people do need to be reminded what this site is all about and I don't think you were in the wrong. Although sometimes we all make mistakes its recognizing them and being the better man sometimes. Btw I liked your comeback as well. Not too harsh and got the point across
Thank all of you guys for all the help! I appreciate it. I have another question. I flashed the 3d to metro pcs. If i flash another rom will it delete the flash? and i downloaded apn backup but it says that ics doesnt let it back up or restore anything...
No it shouldn't. And are you flashing a aosp or sense Rom? Either one ics won't allow third party apps to write to the apn xml file. But here are a couple solutions. On sense you can download msl reader and get your msl code. Once you get that code go into your dialer dial ##3242# and punch in your code under edit. Once you do that click on advanced, go to the bottom of page where your mms settings are located. If you know the setrings, edit the settings to your liking. However if its aosp, you will need to make a copy of your apn file. It's located in system/etc folder if you didn't know. Place it in your pc. Use notepad to edit the settings and save it. Copy it back onto your sdcard. Then copy it back into the folder and set the default permissions for the file and reboot. If that don't work try go sms as an alternative until devs fix the issue.
Hi all,
I just downloaded an OTA update but was not able to install it as I'm rooted with custom recovery. I've read that I can restore by running the correct RUU but I cannot find one for my region (HK CHT, 1.14.708.16). Is there another way to get the stock recovery and be able to do OTA updates?

I flashed it and it reset my internal storage!
After flashing it I went into recovery to just check if TWRP was installed or not, and it went into recovery. I had to hold down the power to shut it off. It rebooted back into recover, I repeated to hold down the buttons and now I lost everything. Mind you I am using a stock rom, I just flashed TWRP so I could root the device. Could someone else verify this?
Edit: Supersu was still installed, This is a better situation however than bricking the phone due to not charging.
Thanks.
Stop showing people my link to a recovery when they are talking about OTA updates as to my knowledge AT&T has not released one which means they are not using the AT&T branded phone. This advice is dangerous, may break their phone. There are two different hardware versions of the phone as well as the carrier differences. You are not helping by doing this.
If flashing the recovery reset your data you did something wrong. That should not happen and has not happen the 12 times I have flashed it. Are you positive you are on the AT&T hardware version and did not hit factory reset while in hboot?

I replied in the other thread. IT IS possible I inadvertently hit factory reset while in Hboot as I had some trouble with it hanging in recovery (now that I think about it I may have held the vol down to long and then hit the power button without even realizing it). If this is the case then please disregard. And YES I am NOT using an int'l hox+ , and I have been flashing android devices (mostly Samsung) since the Magic. I have just not owned an HTC device in a long time so I am re-learning fastboot etc... Thanks for the factory recovery

If you have an international device any recovery from any international RUU will work on your device. Try extracting the recovery.img from a RUU rom.zip. or check dev section, im sure mike posted a stock recovery with his CWM. Finally check if the AIO root toolkit contains a stock recovery

The thing is you can't flash any ics jb custom Rom while your on Gb Rom you have to flash an ics ruu 1st before doing anything else..now all you have to do is go to 4ext format everything except sd card and download the latest ota update which sportsstar has posted on dev section and flash it from 4ext then you have ics firmware..then you can flash any Rom just make sure you do a full wipe before flashing any custom roms

Im incredibly sorry, I meant to write S-On not S-Off. Does that mean in a little bit of a mess?
Again, appreciate the quick responses and help.

aloot :/ the thing is we asian owners dont have any ics update so we have to s off our devices to have other carrier ics firmware there was this one guy who did flash a ics ruu (latest from sportsstar89) while s on but he's facing complications now :S if you want you can try no harms but you'll have to flash faux kernel right after flashing the ota zip before the 1st boot (complicated right? ) so i recommend S OFF and super cid 1st read bout how to do it then if your using windows pm me i'll give you a link to download the jbear s off kit to have a working phone you have to do is unlock the bootloader flash 4ext and then download GB ROM flash it from 4ext (enable smart flash which you can find in the very bottom of tools category) then yay you got a working phone again

Dude Im really grateful for your help. I have been an iPhone user and things with the iPhone were fairly straight forward, then I got an HTC One V, Rooting and Flashing custom roms on that was easier too, now I have an amaze and I completely over looked the S-Off and SuperCID (BTW what is SuperCID?) bit. I am sorry I know you have better things to do in life than to help me, but id be really grateful if you'd tell me just exactly what to do in the simplest fashion, as I dont even know how to PM you on this thing. :S
Im travelling to Dubai in 2 days and I'd really like my phone back.
Thanks buddy.
Update: to have a working phone I just have flash the GB rom from your post?? I already have an unlocked bootloader and 4ext.

to have a working phone thats all you have to do yes and super cid is like giving permission to flash ANY ROM to the device regardless of the carrier and i phone is like a prison they do everything for you but in android you have freedom to customize it as you want iphone is for girls you have made the right choice by choosing android
