So, i'm more than likely getting the evo 3D tomrrow after noon.
I'll be going to the sprint store..
I'll be switching to the 3000 min family plan, so I can keep the yearly upgrades.
Is there anything I should know/check for, before I leave the store?
Also, they do have that 30 trail type thing...
If I decide I don't like the evo 3D... Can I return it and it'll act as if nothing ever happened?

Alright, thank you.
Anything else guys?
It's an awesome phone, and in a month or so it will only be made better with an unlocked boot loader. Go for it.
Daughter dropped the phone by accident and now the screen has become unresponsive. Sprint CSR advised me to do a factory reset and stupidly I listened, fully knowing that it wouldn't help. Phone won't go past the (HTC) splash screen now. They put in a ticket for me at a local store, but my curiosity is will they fix it/replace it? It's rooted and was running a custom ROM which may explain why it's stuck on the splash after the wipe.

Use the return to stock s-on threads then take it back. Chances are, it will be replaced.

They can't touch rooted phones; you'd need to turn S-on and unroot it. But you said the screen is unresponsive... You could buy another EVO 3D temporarily and then swap out the LCD screens, then return that one and say the screen doesn't work.

You said screen was unresponsive? Sounds like when it was dropped, it may have damaged the wires on the board that control the digitizer. Are you within thirty day warranty?

I am not saying this to sound like a ****, but if your dropped the phone and it broke that clearly isnt covered under warranty if you dont have insurance its all on you and no one will be screwing you. I do however hope it all works out for you and they either fix it or replace it.

If you have TEP you just have to pay the $100 deductible and get a replacement phone next-day aired to you.

Why bother going through all that trouble if it can be fixed, that's my point. The objective is to get it fixed w/o having to waste $. Paying the $100 deductible is the last resort.

I think you'd end up going through more trouble trying to find out what's wrong with your phone. It was dropped...there's no telling what happened to it and what all is broke.
I'd pay the 100 dollars, move on, and be more careful next time...just my opinion.
For what its worth, if you take a trip down to texas i'll fix it for you haha

ya even if your warranty is voided due to rooting (which it shouldn't be because it's a hardware problem), I would rather have HTC replace the speaker for me and pay them. then order the part and try to install it myself!!
Just call htc.

ok so i got this phone on the 5th i believe and ever since that day i have had a case on it but today i was with some people and they wanted to see how it looked without a case. so i took it off and gave it to him and while he was looking at it he turned to me and said "is this supposed to be bent?" so in shock i look at my phone and sure enough the metal bar or strip i guess you would say that is under the home button by the mic is dented toward the back of the phone. since im very careful with my phones and haven't dropped this phone at all and my og evo thats 2 years old doesn't have a scratch on it so i can't figure out where it came from.
so would i be able to take it to the sprint store i got it from and replace it? its just one of those things that once you saw it, it can't be unseen and its driving me absolutely nuts
isn't replacement only valid for 14 days ?
i had my evo 4g lte and 2 days after using it , it went dead.

Return to cancel is 14 days, replacement/exchange is 30 days
So you're going to take back what I'm guessing is a perfect running phone, cause a thin metal strip is slightly bent? Dude if you have no clue how it bent, then I'm sure eventually the new phone will probly bent at some point. Regarless I think you only had 14 days anyways and I'm sure the sprint store will blame you for the bent strip. I say put it and the case and forget it.

can it be exchanged to another device ?
i purchased et4g from sprint local store on 6/3 and the guy told me i have 14 days to cancel or exchange it. On 6/15 i exchanged the et4g for evo 4g lte, the sprint employee told me it doesn't extend the 14 days exchange period.
Yeah they basically told me I'm screwed and there is nothing I can do... this is going to kill me since I'm a perfectionist. Especially with my evo's

yeah the only thing i can do it take it to a service center and see it they can straighten it. but all sprint phones come with a 12 month manufacturer defect warranty. so maybe i can fiddle with a port or something to see if they will replace it? its a **** move but might consider it unless i can go to the sprint store when the cool guy is there. they guy there was kinda new and doesn't cut deals haha

This happened like 5 minutes ago and I'm freaking out. My One is rooted and running CM10 5-22-13 Nightly. I haven't had any issues since updating it last Thursday. I was watching this youtube video <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=06xF46tIkmA&feature=youtu.be> on a friends facebook and when the stick figure in the cartoon explodes my One just shuts off. I tried holding down power and volume down. I tried plugging it in to power but to no avail. Anybody have any suggestions? It hasn't been a month since I've had it but I rooted using HTC's dev site. I think this negates my warranty... FML...
Leave it off the charger overnight and try to boot into bootloader again.. If your not getting anything while plugged in then your bricked. Any lights or screen action and you'll be fine.
If your bricked I'd tell them it downloaded an ota update and got stuck half way through and won't turn on anymore. If it won't boot there's no way to tell it was ever rooted and rom'd

So if I take it back to the place I bought it they won't go back to HTC's dev site to see if my IMEI was used to turn S-off? Thanks for the advice. I will try it. If it doesn't turn back on I will take it back to Sam's Club where I bought it. They have a pretty decent return policy.

I got it at Sams because it was only $149.99 there. I also doubt they know what rooting is. I will probably use the OTA excuse. And I can still return because I bought my One on May 1st and they have a 30 day return policy. AT&T has a 14 day policy to cancel on your recently signed two year contract. So I still have a few more days... lucky me...

Well since there hasn't been issues of other Ones with CM dying, i'd say you didn't do anything wrong, you didn't brick it. Something failed, probably would've happened if you were bone stock. No need to make up an OTA story, just tell the truth. You were watchin a Video when it died. You should have absolutely no problem exchanging, probably no questions asked.

Update
So I ended up going to an AT&T DSC location. The people there were really nice but not very knowledgable about smartphones. Pretty much just looked at the One, tried turning it on and declared it dead after not being able to turn it back on. They had to back order me another one which they will send priority. They also ordered me a 64gb instead replacing my 32gb haha. I had also dropped my One, my first week, while running because it was too big for my arm band and got a few scratches. AT&T FTW!
