I just got my first bill from Verizon.....could anyone explain the surcharge I got? It was about $70..... Is it because I got unlimited data at the last minute?

well part of that is an activation fee, part of that is because you didn't start on day on of their billing cycle, so you pay for part of one cycle and then all of the next one. First bills with any carrier are always huge.
Check your bill online and it will break down the charges. As previously stated your activation fee + data charges(prorated for month until next cycle) + 1 month in advance should all be on there, your next bill will be normal. Just fyi, if you ordered your phone from Verizon Friday-Monday they do have a free activation if you ordered on those days. Just something to look into and might save you $35.
Thanks for the quick replies.
When I got my Droid X it was on backorder for 10 days and they tried charging me for those 10 days. Verizon tries to pull some shady stuff so definitely check your bill.
Did any see there bill this month? My insurance went up from $7 to $8........

Mine is the same way
Yeah insurance went up this month, sprint gave me the heads up when I got the phone and my brother got it as well, I don't usually check sprint emails so probably that's why you guys didn't know

Only if you use more than 2gb a month and need the speed. Otherwise T-Mo has a deal right now. Two lines of service, unlimited text/talk/data for $49.99 per line. However, after 2gb data it throttles the speed to 2G speeds...
But hey, for a casual couple/family, that is an amazing deal. If not for getting the Evo3D we would probably switch and save $50 a month and get more minutes. So far, the most data I've used in a month has been 3gb, but I average only about 1.2-1.5gb a month.
I avg 8gb on my phone and 4gb on my wifes. But we do not have home internet we tether for free.

The $1 increase is still worth it to me. You never know what will happen and with TEP you are covered for anything pretty much. My sister just messed up her brand new Iphone and didn't have insurance. Now she's pretty much screwed. I told her dumbass husband to get the insurance, but just like most people, he didn't.
Your complaining about a dollar increase ? Why was this topic started. Bro how you get the 3d can't even pay 1$ more a month.
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA App
Screw their insurance, I canceled mine when it went from $5 to $7. I have saved more than enough since I cancelled TEP to outright buy new phones, without accounting for the ridiculous $100.00 deductible.
My 370ZX cost less to insure per dollar, with no deductible.
for those that ordered from wirefly in the past, have you ever changed/cancelled service within the 6 month time period? I bought my evo 3d from them at the release date and was thinking of leaving sprint without paying the ETF(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1226343), but not sure if and how Wirefly will charge me.
94 views and not one response?? Am I the only one in this situation?
From what I unferstand you don't need to pat them anything only sprint ETF
Sent from my PG86100 using Tapatalk
I did once about two years ago. In addition to the ETF, wirefly informed me I owed their company money. I dont remember how much, $200 I think. They called me a few times about it and I never paid it. That was the last I heard of it, they never turned it in, so it didnt affect my credit.

yeah,, but with the administrative fee chanage, I wouldnt have to pay SPRINT. Still concerned that Wirefly might report me or worse, have a collection agency call me every 15 minutes. I guess I am the only one in this situation....lol

Actually, I think it will be $200 for LTE phones (based on SRP), making the insurance nearly pointless, considering it will be $11 a month + $200 deductible.

That sucks you dropped your evo. I had mine without a case for a couple days but I went and picked up an otterbox defender today.
Can anyone link to anything that says the deductible is different then $100? I haven't heard this yet. I don't have TEP on my girls Evo LTE bc I don't do a ton of deving/modding on her phone like I do my own, but with my own I carry TEP because I go through two phones a year or so and it's worth it for me... Heard the monthly fee was going up but not the deductible.

Otter Box Defender is the only way to go. I bought one for my last Evo and will not own another phone again without one. Well worth the $50, cheaper than a deductible and it has to sustain one hell of an impact to cause any damage. The built-in screen protector works pretty damn good too.
It makes the phone bigger but I think it sits in my pockets better when I go to sit down. You know, not sliding down and weighing down your pocket when you are driving or sitting down to eat.

If you never used your protection plan once then u can go into the store and have them do a standard return the u get a prorated charge back. If you used it once then u can't get a refund but the protection is good for your phone for 2 years from date of purchase.
I bought it on my phone and I got rid of it in 6 months. I ended up getting $146 back. This was before I started working at best buy.

They sign you up for automatic payments from a debit/credit card. Now you just have to remember to keep $10/month in that account to pay for it

I'm going to try the Commuter. I have a feeling the Defender is just going to make an already big phone way too bulky.
im about to change carrier and im eyeing the One. i'd like to know how much is the restocking fee for 14days?
50 or 75 I am pretty sure 75.

Do they charge if there is a problem with the phone? I got my One on Saturday and it has shut off twice on me already. I've never had to return a phone, so I don't know how this restocking fee works.

If it's a reproducible problem you might be able to get out of restocking...if it's intermittent, probably not. The fee is $50.

I believe the restocking fee is $50 if you are returning the phone within the 14 days (retail store) or 20 days (t-mobile.com). Now sure if it changes if you are also canceling service.

I'll just go to the store. Thought I might get lucky and find a store employee who knows from experience. It seems that phone reps know nothing about how things work in store.

It'll be a $50 fee for any exchange unless you can reproduce the issue and are exchanging for the same phone. If you have issues they will exchange it for the same model with no fee charge. If you want a different model, then a fee will be charged. Choose wisely

I am a RSA in a T-mobile Corp Store. From T-Mobiles return/exchange policy there is a $50 fee for return/exchange for most smartphones. Some of the smartphones have a $75 fee like the Note 2 and the Iphone 5. The Manger has to override the restocking fee and most mangers will not override it unless you can show us the problem in the store. There is no known issue right now about reboots in our internal system. I am not saying that it isn't a issue but I have yet to see any HTC One reboot that I have sold. Most of the time if you want to exchange the phone for the same model the fee is removed. If you want to change to a different phone or just do a full return the fee is almost always charged unless we see the problem.

T-Mobile also replaces your phone for one year (refurbished), or if you have the insurance bundle they will always replace it. They send it next day air, then you return the defective phone. It's $5 if you have insurance or $25 if you don't.

Its what we have been told when we tell customers. Its pretty much just like the new PHP costs. If you get PHP for your phone and the full bundle is $11.99 your phone most likely has a $75 restocking fee. I am sure it is because of the cost of the phone. The Note 2 is a $700 phone where the GS3 is a $500 phone. I know the HTC One for PHP is $11.99. We were told to put the $75 restocking fee sticker on the phone for customers to know. Also if you look your re receipt it talks about it there as well. I think T-Mobile calls the $75 ones super phones where the $50 ones are called smartphones.
