Nexus torch - HTC Rezound

Is there any way we will ever get the torch app from cm6 from the incredible I loved that light but when I try to use it its just a normal flashlight I want it bright than my room like the Droid incredible

I never used that specific one, but have you tried this one? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1408341 Seems to work great for me.

This is the app I use, its a nice app, has worked on any device I have put it on, even non rooted devices.

The brightness of the Flash LEDs on the Rezound has nothing to do with the app you use

or it can also be the fact that on my incredible i had cm7 and had torch which pushed the leds to their limit and made them really hot but i just loved that flashlight helped out when i needed to look for something in the dark

again, as a.mcdear pointed out - this is a 100% hardware capability thing. while some software might not set the same brightness levels in settings, the limits are the limits of the hardware.

yes i know but i took out the leds out of my broken rezound i have a second one that i bought retail for not getting insurance never again and connected to a 3.5 volt connector and was significantly brighter so i know it can be forced to be brighter!

Sure, and you can hook them up to a car battery and they will explode, but that does not mean that another app can miraculously cause the hardware to deliver more power to the Flash LEDs. The fact is that the torch setting on any app is probably already using the maximum brightness that the hardware is capable of.

Snowman is not making things up. The nexus torch on the Incredible would overpower both LEDs at once for a crazy bright light. When I would run non-CM7 ROMs on my Incredible, I always looked for an alternative app that did the same thing, but never could. Most could only run one of the two LEDs. If they could light both at once, they were not overpowered.

The galaxy torch works for me. Its free on the market.

It's a kernel tweak I believe, find someone who knows how to change it then there you go

Try something for me then say again that the hardware limits the brightness.
Enter a dark room and turn on any of the available flashlight apps. Then, turn it off and take a picture with flash on. No comparison.

Yeah the torch app on the incredible was so bright that every time you turn it on it had a warning popup saying not to leave it on long because it would melt **** lol

No offense, but if having a bright flashlight is really this important to you, why not just get an actual flashlight?
Otherwise, if you're in a pinch and just need a quick light, the rezound is definitely bright enough for illuminating a dark area (like putting your keys in the car door in an unlit parking lot)

I still have my incredible (gf uses it actually) so I know how bright that app is.
What I was saying is that the rezound is clearly capable of the same bright flashlight as the incredible. The incredible one turns on the leds as if to flash while taking a picture but keeps the lights on. I see no reason why the rezound could not do the same. Now do I know how to get that working at the moment - no. But I'm interested enough to do some research and I'll post what I find.

[Port] To the Amaze

Can anyone please port the TORCH application that is in the market (also comes with CM roms), and make it fully functional?
I have downloaded it from the market (Nexus Torch), and it seems fine, but on "High Brightness" it flickers on and off way too much.
This is one of my fav apps.
Please and thanks

supposedly this is bad for your LEDs whenever you turn it up on the highest for a long period of time or make it flicker like a strobe light. people have reported after keeping the app on for around a minute the LED burned out lol. Forgot which phone it was but it shouldn't matter, also if you notice your phone gets pretty hot when it's on, I only use the flashlight app for emergency and I'm sure that's what its intended for.

I just need the high brightness setting, It would be nice to have it, I voided the warranty lets get the most out of it!!!
It would be nice, family, friends, and strangers are always asking me to look at their teeth (I should stop mentioning to people that I'm a dentist, I'm afraid if I say I'm a janitor they'll ask me to come clean their floors though!!!!!!), of course this really does nothing major (They really need a full exam in a office setting) but gives me a better idea of what can actually be done and a high brightness would be nice...

Blocking the sensor works, but...
I just tried putting a small piece of tape over the sensor and found that it works. The red buttons always stay on regardless of the ambient light conditions, however, during a call the screen will no longer go dark so that your ear, cheek, etc are no longer prevented from inadvertently clicking on anything. Obviously the sensor has a double duty.

Anyone else notice the little red LED on the left side?

So I just got off the phone with my girlfriend, I'm hitting the hay early tonight, waiting for her to get home and she just called me so I put it on speaker.
Then I noticed there is a faint little red LED on the left side of the phone right above the screen, it went away when the call ended but I never noticed it before.
I know the OG EVO 4G had 2 LEDs, CM made the second one useful, but idk about the 3d or other evo phones.
I should note i am in a pitch black room and this led is about 1/3 of the size of the notification led. Also is extremely dim, almost looks like a red circle.
Kind of cool
Wondering if anyone else has noticed it

Yeah. Build quality is indeed great. Except for the flimsy and cheap feeling power and volume buttons. I have the ATT version. I don't know if other versions have better quality buttons.

If I remember correctly, I think the Sprint version has a bit of a classier look.
http://www.phonearena.com/reviews/LG-Optimus-G-AT-T---Sprint-Review_id3154
If you scroll down a bit you can see a pop-up comparison of the two.
The buttons are nice, but really slim so I feel we have a bit of an advantage as an AT&T customer.
Not to mention the AT&T's version design is just beautiful. Prefer it over Sprint's any day.
All three versions are beautiful imo. No expandable storage and sparse LTE makes the Sprint version a no buy for me.
I have the AT&T version and tbh I'm a little jealous of the Sprint one. It's a little thinner but taller which is what I would prefer. But other than that one little nitpick I love this phone.

But the Sprint version doesn't have the power button notification light does it? Also, I am in an area that requires an Airrave to get Sprint service (less than .5MB) and getting 10MB down in same spot. Sent from my super fast Optimus G!!!
Yeah that seems to be LG's "normal" flashing rate, haha. Not sure who came up with that idea.
That LED interval is really annoying.
I love the look of the LED on the power button... but it is a little out of the way. I feel like it was treated like the ugly step-child that has to stay out of sight when company is over...
That coupled with the flash rate almost guarantee that I don't notice a notification.
I'm used to being able to change the flash frequency with CM and Miui.
My old phone was set to like 3 seconds. Haha. Just had to glance over and had a really strong idea if I had a notification or not.
Oh well, the phone is still solid and sexy as anything.
Blows my old phone out of the water every other way.
(On a side note, anybody know if the LED can do other colors? I really liked having a aqua/cyan colored LED.)

it works, kinda.... Really what I use lightflow for is not so much the actual light, although it was nice with my gnex, its more so for the repeating notifications with custom ringtones/sounds for different contacts. I am able to get that by just turning off every led notification and just use the sound and vibration. When ever I tried to use the lights I just had problems, so I gave up on them, besides, the front LED is maybe the worst I have ever seen, and I hardly ever see the back as I lay my phone down with the screen up. So yes, lightflow works, just not 100% as its name would suggest.
Yeah in really hoping it ends up having a little more control over the front LED. I relied on the difference between white/red/pink for text/call/whatsapp on my Nexus and was really hoping for the ability to do that on this phone.
At this point I just wanna get the light to stay solid rather than blinking...
