Wow haha
I'm crossing my fingers for Blur, or whatever Pantech uses..
Sense is a proprietary product of HTC. Why noy just buy the HTC One X, it has pretty good spec to compete with the S3 and has better physical design.
I wouldn't buy an iPhone in hope of able to install Android to it.

Personally what puts me off the One X is the lack of micro sd expansion and battery removal which seems to be the norm (sadly).
I suppose its just wishful thinking, but at least there will probs be a stock ICS rom that is better in my eyes than touch wiz.

True. I just saw my friend today. His first day with a HTC one S. And he was using my HTC Doubleshot. His is stock he won't root he just bought it yesterday.
My phone is running Virtuous Inquisition with is senseless AOSP
.. mine is at standard clock 1.2 ghz. He said "how come your phone is faster than mine"
Sense 4.0 just like Sense always has will take so much of that "edge" off of Android.

In order for me to purchase another device it has to be rooted with s off already accomplished. I love the mt4g way to much right now.
Nah, even if it was rooted. Even though the specs are a little bit better than the Sensation I'd still rather get the Sensation because all of the good devs already jumped to the Sensation.
I'd be surprised if a lot of devs went to the Amaze. Probably going to be a similar situation with the SGS4G when all of the devs were already on the Vibrant, no point in getting the SGS4G.
Good phone though, just wish that's what HTC did with the Sensation. The 1GB of RAM and better camera is nice.
Nope. The specs are all that. I'd need more to make me jump to a new phone.
ill prolly pick it up, but not when it first comes out. i love my phone but id like to have something with a little bigger screen and soft keys
The device just looks so damn good though. I'm thinking about it hard.

Steve still works with CM, it's just a separate project now, it may have less work from cyan himself. However you can't forget that CM has a large amount of devs, Cyan has help from others so I doubt they would actually allow CM brand to die off like this.
Well perhaps working at Sammy will give Steve a chance to make sure ICS reaches other their other phones quickly
Considering that CM just announced it would support 10 new Sony Ericsson devices, I take that as a sign that we won't see CM winding down anytime soon.

Since Steve works with Sammy now I'm thinking that he could be learning new or different tweaks, Sammy should have some sort of ICS access (Sammy should have it by now) depending on his job position; so maybe he can work on CM8 slightly earlier. Personally I'm not to thrilled about ICS, after seeing that NexusS w/ "ICS"....It looked nothing like I thought, I figured Google would step it up to fend off iOS5/WP7.5(Mango). But it doesn't seem like much of a UI overhaul, but I'm sure the usability/features have been significantly changed.
I've been sitting on an upgrade since last month so I'm going to use in on the Amaze, even though I was planning to use it on the Sensation.

No NEON. IMO, that is a fail toward Nvidia since they are supposed to be "revolutionary" and all. The atrix didnt have support for a lot of apps for a long time and became annoying as hell. it needed so much optimization as well since Nvidia didnt do much at all lol. The only good thing about it was the games, which our snapdragons are just as good.. Maybe it got better with drivers, im talking quite a few months back. whenever i got my sensation from the atix i was so happy. (i had CM 7 on the atrix no motocrap) so cant blame it on bloat lol. the g2x was a fail because its plauged with so many issues. makes our screen bleed look perfect. people who complain about it should go to that phone xD

Claims that they (HTC, T-Mobile, anyone) don't want to "disrupt" our user experience with 3.0 on the Amaze are BS, IMHO. Problems with Sense 3.0 do NOT need to be continued ... and the enhancements due with Sense 4.0 are, I think, owed us. I bought this phone specifically because an ICS update in 2012 had already been promised.
I want landscape home screens. I want Car Mode restored. I want a better Dock Mode.
If ICS arrives with same ol' Sense overlay, and the problems I've had with three handsets not fixed, I may not even update.

Simple: Sense 4 wins over TW. But, removable battery and sdcard slot win over the one x's non removable battery and no slot.
If sense can be ported, it'd be win win..since you cant exactly mod a onex to have the battery + sdcard capabilities.
I'm using sense right now and its terrible compared to touchwiz. Just more give it a little time it will grow on you and it will be way more functional than sense.

That would be nice and I'm sure a lot of people are waiting for that.
Tbh I think a good clean aosp build would be better, the Samsung firmware right now is based on IMM76D, aosp is on IMM76L and contains some of the linaro optimisations and we could do with that. Its the latest code available.
Sense would be nice but a nice clean unbloated aosp rom would be my main priority.
Sense= bloated but nice theme/colors
Like it more then aosp, doubt sense would run good but I would try it just for fun

I always had HTC Phones before and this year I bought the S3, my first Samsung.
The first thing I noted with Touchwiz was, that I canĀ“t make Shortcuts to
Direct Dial, Direct Message, etc.
That was so easy with my Sense 3,5.
Maybe I just dont know how to use Touchwis.. But I prefer Sense.
So i've seen the we have some pretty great Sense 4 roms available but they drink my battery like Redbull so im back to Sense 3.6 with Chingys ICS rom. Now our Rezound is supposedly not "equipped" enough to run Sense 4 efficiently and yet I look at my old regional carrier C-Spire and they have a new HTC phone called the "HTC One V" running ICS Sense 4 and the phone only has a 1GHz proccessor! I believe the more specific reason HTC may give is that the Rezound has a dedicated menu soft key, which I guess would be the hardware. Looking at the phones that are receiving Sense 4, I don't see dedicated menu soft keys...A simple guess, correct me if I'm wrong...

Maybe so.

You're wrong. The depricated menu button has nothing to do with Sense 4. The function of the buttons can be modified to perform other tasks, or can be ommitted entirely (like on the Galaxy Nexus), but has nothing to do with the ability to support Sense4.
The ONLY reason we aren't going to get Sense 4 is because HTC wants to make it a feature only available on their new phones to help drive new handset sales. A oldschool Incredible can run Sense 4 just fine, it has absolutely nothing to do with hardware and everything to do with selling new phones.
Remember, Sense 4 was supposedly "slimmed down" to make it faster/easier on resources. Any phone that could handle Sense 3.x should run better with Sense 4, in theory..
